Present

The craking of a palisman echoed through the chamber as it then rotted into dust as its essence was inhaled through the mask of the boiling Ilses's ruler. "Much better." They responded before looking back at their subject who kneeled.

"Your highness, I understand you are upset about what happened with the prison, but I swear the human girl broke out with a pen and paper." A scout started.

"Explain to me." She said in a deep tone.

"Well steve went to check the cell but when he got too close that was when the girl managed to entangle him in vines and escape with the keys, from a small piece of paper, before proceeding to burn, freeze and blind the guards and escape before we could recapture her and... your highness are you alright." The scout asked as the Empress had a glare underneath the mask as the scout then felt something sharp prick him before looking down and seeing a spike piercing his chest which then retracted back to its owner as he collapsed to the floor while other scouts quickly disposed of the body.

The empress spoke, "I shall head to my quarters, and please do not disturb me." She said before repeating to her room and closing the door before taking off the mask and robes, breathing in the fresh air, reaching into a drawer and taking out a paper and quill quickly drawing a circle and symbol in the middle which then turned into a small ball of light.

She looked outside to see the large titan skull a few miles away as she spoke. "You gave and taught me this magic, why would you betray this friendship we had for centuries to give it to someone else?" She questioned.

"A found another one!" A teenage Camila exclaimed as she ran up to her step-sibling Evelyn

"What is it?" She asked as Camila pulled out a piece of wood and a carving knife, carving a symbol into it before pressing it with her finger as a small plant rose from it. "Another one already? That's what the third this month? Lucky you, a few more like that you might even be a real witch."

A smile formed on Camila's face "You really believe that?"

"I know so, now hurry up mum is making freshly cooked griffin meat tonight." The two stood up and walked past the hallway and sat at the table where a fresh bird was waiting for them.

"Now everyone please sit down and... Cam no writing at the table," Marilyn spoke as Camila was starting a new entry in her diary before stopping and closing it.

"Sorry, mother I just find another form of magic and..."

She was then shushed. "After dinner, Camila."

"Of course mother," Camila said closing the dairy and tucking it into her satchel before eating with her family and continuing her writing after.

"I've recently found another one today in the past month, this one being of a plant the symbol of life. Now with fire and Ice that makes a total of three I've found so far, it makes me wonder is the dead titan of this world secretly communicating with me?"

Camila finished by drawing the symbols and closing the page and passed by Evelyn who was carving a palisman. "Who's that for?"

"Oh, I'm just practicing my carving skill and... OW!" Evelyn cursed before holding her hand which began to bleed as Camila wrapped it with a cloth.

"There, it should heal in a day or two."

"Thanks and I may or may not be seeing someone elsewhere, though I think that mother and father will disapprove of him."

Camila sat down next to her. "Hey if he's been nice to you then you should visit him often, and I swear that I'll never tell them until you decide to introduce him."

"Promise?" Evelyn asked.

"What are sisters for?" Camila playfully punched her in the shoulder. "You know there is a way you to can talk without getting caught, I learned it from a book recently." She then pulled out a piece of paper and wrote numbers, letters, and a few pictures on it.

"A rebus puzzle? Won't that be a bit hard?"

"Love can solve the most difficult problems," Camila assured her as Evelyn quickly gave her a tight hug. "Stop, stop you'll kill me!"

Evelyn chuckled. "Like one of us would have the guts to do that..."

Decades later

Inside a cave, Evelyn came from behind a wall holding her pregnant stomach and palisman staff as she reached eclipse lake after she agreed with her husband to meet with someone. She turned a corner where she had been told to meet up with them but instead came upon a horrible site, Camila had blood over her coat and clothes, and a few bruises, in her hand she gripped a blood-soaked knife which dripped into the ground and behind her was a large fire likely caused by magic and a bloody and burnt body next to her. "What did you do!?'

Camila was silent as she looked at her hands, blood-soaked and bruised, along with the knife gripped tightly but she didn't speak.

"Cam what did you do!?" Evelyn screamed out tears leaking from her eyes as she held her staff tightly backing Camila against a wall who in turn lifted the knife in a defensive position with a tight grip before making the first move.
