Chapter 2
While Felicia was close to freaking out at home, Peter was currently in the process of webbing up prisoners. He has just stuck one to their cell when the man yelled back
"Come on Spider-Man," the man said in a thick Brooklyn Accent, " I just walked out of my cell. I was just going to the bathroom, I swear"
Spider-Man just shook his head at the man and quipped back, "Sure, you happen to be going to the bathroom as a massive breakout happens. I will give you a 10 for effort but I don't think you will be getting the rafts best actor award. Better luck next year"
"Spider-Man jumped up and opened a vent, starting to crawl his way through the prison as silently as he could. He looked down through the grate and saw some prisoners not even leaving their cells, He was thankful they were behaving. He moved on and found himself in the High-Security wing. He stopped suddenly when he saw Martin Li's cell was open but he wasn't trying to escape. He was just sitting on his bed, staring out into the corridor. Spider-Man was about to make his move when he heard heavy footsteps that could belong to only one person.
"Negative man, we must leave, this creature in goo has released us." Said the Rhino in a thick Russian accent.
"You think it's a good idea to leave? Last time should be evidence enough that there is no point, we will only just end up back inside here. Besides, I deserve to be here after everything I did" Martin Li said while looking down, not making eye contact with the Rhino.
"Have it your way little goose, I am going to go break the Spider-Man" Said Rhino walking away but he turned as he heard the vent fall open. /p
"Ah speak of the devil, Spider-Man has come to say hello to his old friend Rhino before he dies. I would say it is sweet but I don't care, I just want to see you dead." Rhino said as he readied himself, facing down Spider-Man.
"Hey Aleksei, It's not nice to see you but I couldn't resist coming to put my second favorite Russian back into his cell, so why don't you do all of us a favor and get those paws back into your cell hm? I may even through in a punch or two to sweeten the deal. What Do ya say?"
"I tire of your jokes Spider-Man, I will bathe in your blood once you are dead." Rhino Sneered as he slammed his foot into the floor, cracking it completely and making the whole corridor shake. Spider-Man fired a web at Rhino's head but he easily ripped it off.
"Come on Rhino, you sound like a vampire, I mean a Rhino Vampire sounds awesome... and Terrifying but I don't think we have time to see if you can turn into a bat. I heard that job is taken anyway." Spider-Man quickly jumped to the ceiling to avoid a piece of a broken light that had fallen from the previous mini earthquake that Rhino had caused.
Rhino growled under his breath and let out a shout of anger as he started charging Spider-Man, taking half the cells with him as he was so big, he could barely fit down the corridor. Spider-Man jumped from the ceiling and landed behind Rhino, quickly latching onto his back. He fired webs at his head and started to pull him back, trying to slow him down to avoid more damage.
"Come on Rhino, can we not do this? I wanna be home in time for dinner, it's pizza night."
"Only loser bugs eat pizza, real men eat real meat." The Rhino said back as he tried to smash Spider-Man into a wall but Spider-Man adjusted his position and avoided the majority of the force. /p
"Wow, I guess it's never pizza time in your house... I mean the zoo? Where do you live exactly?" Spider-Man asked
"STOP TALKING!" Rhino roared with anger as he flipped Spider-Man from his head, breaking the web with his horn as the masked hero hit a wall hard.
"Spider-Man fell to the floor clutching his stomach before getting back to his feet slowly.
"Ouch, that hurt... I guess you don't like talking about dinner plans, I will keep that in mind." Spider-Man attached his webs to a piece of broken debris and fired it back at the Rhino. It hit the Russian hard, sending him back first into an empty cell. Spider-Man started firing webs at the cell opening, covering the entrance with a thick layer. He looked at Rhino as he tried to get up but the name beside the cell caught his eye. It read Otto Octavius.
"Man, not you doc.." Spider-Man said under his breath, he quickly had to focus again as Rhino sent more debris flying his way. He quickly dodged and watched as the debris broke against the wall. He said a silent prayer for that not being his body.
"Okay, Rhino can you at least beat me up without making a mess? Like come on, you never clean after yourself!" Spider-Man quipped as he fired some electrical webbing at the Rhino but surprisingly the behemoth of a man moved out of the way, only for the web to strike an electrical box. Peter watched as the Electrical box started to spit out sparks, clearly close to overloading. This gave the masked hero an idea.
"Hey Rhyno, what's your favorite color?" Spider-Man asked as he kicked Rhino away from the electrical box, making him stagger. Spider-Man stood in front of the box, trying to distract his enemy with questions, it seemed to be working well so far.
"Red." The man said in return as he started to prepare for a charge.
"I guess it's because red is the color of blood right?" Spider-Man asked while getting into a stance.
"EXACTLY AHHHHHH" Rhino screamed as he charged the masked Hero, but Spider-Man jumped at the last moment, causing Rhino to charge the horn first into the electrical box. The box exploded, as sparks started to take over the Rhino's suit. If Spider-Man was correct, his suit would be able to withstand the shock without causing death. He watched as the Rhino let out a pained scream and collapsed onto the floor, knocked out from the pain.
"Well that was a shocking performance Rhino, man I thought you had gotten better but guess not. I wonder where the rest of your friends are." Spider-Man said.
"They are gone," said the voice of Martin Li from his cell, "at least what's left of them anyway. Electro got locked away in Ravencroft a while ago, I heard the guards talking about it. Vulture is dead, his cancer finally caught up to him. Scorpion is gone, he got his suit and left but I don't know where he is." Martin Li stood and walked closer to Spider-Man, without thinking Spider-Man took a defensive stance out of habit.
"Where is Doctor Octavius?" Spider-Man asked.
"I don't know that either," Martin said as he raised his hands to show he meant no harm
"Why didn't you run?" Spider-Man asked,
"Because I belong here, after what I did, I killed innocent people, I killed a police officer and it is my fault that May Parker is dead." Martin Li was struggling to hold it together. " I deserve to answer for my crimes, and I plan on doing that. If I could, I would take everything back but I can't I put everything on the line because of revenge. Norman Osborn is dead but I still feel empty. My parents are dead, and Aunt May, the closest thing I had to a mother is gone as well, everywhere I go, I bring bad luck."
Spider-Man placed his hand on Martin's shoulder, squeezing it gently. "You did bad things Martin but it wasn't you that did those things. It was the demon inside of you. You let your anger control you. Everyone has demons, but what makes someone a hero is not wearing a cape or a mask, it's how they control their demons to be a better person instead of following a path of darkness and despair.
"Martin listened closely as he softly nodded his head, "You are right Spider-Man, I let things get out of hand... I can never take that back."
"How very touching, Martin. It's nice to see you again. Oh and you as well, Parker.." Spider-Man turned around, physically cringing when he heard that voice.
"Otto... why are you doing this? Please don't make me fight you, just get back in your cell."
"I don't think so, Parker... I have been thinking of this day for a very long time, you won't take these away from me ever again!" Spider-Man watched as Otto detracted his arms from his back, stretching them to their full length.
"Otto please, just give up this anger, you can't let it control you!" Martin Li shouted at the former scientist.
"Shut up!" Otto sent his clawed arm at Martin but Spider-Man got in the way and stopped it, the claw almost hitting the lens of his mask.
"Otto listen to me! You have to stop letting those arms cloud your emotions, please I don't want to fight you."
"Too late Peter! I am going to finish what I started, I am going to rule this city and I am going to do it with you dead!" Otto forced his other arm forward, causing Spider-Man to parry it away but he let go of the previous arm he was holding and quickly felt a pain in his right cheek as Otto had stuck the edge of his clawed arm into it.
"uugh" Spider-Man let out a pained scream as he quickly felt blood coating the inside of his mask.
"ahh Peter, you won't beat me anymore. I am too powerful. What are you going to do huh? rip a chip out my neck?" Otto smiled and turned around showing Peter that he didn't have a chip there anymore.
"While you left me to rot in here, it gave me time to think of a way to get full control of these arms without it, it so happens that the place they keep all the superhuman's stuff has a lab to experiment on them. I managed to sneak in thanks to my knocked-out friend over there Aleksei. He is an idiot but he does know how to start a riot. They had to put him on his own floor because of all the mess he left. I managed to upload my new software to the arms, therefore giving me full control... I am unbeatable now."
"Everyone has a weakness, I will find yours. I helped build those arms, I will stop you." Spider-Man said through gritted teeth.
Otto let a laugh escape his lips before facing Spider-Man again. "Not me Peter but you on the other hand do... I hear you are dating black cat now... funny, did that redhead not satisfy you enough?
"Shut up!" Spider-Man shouted only causing Otto to wrap Spider-Man's head in his clawed arm.
"You always try and be the hero but Peter you bring nothing but failure and death. Your parents, your Uncle, and your dear Aunt May.."
"Shut up!" Marin Li said as he watched the scene unfold, he was done fighting and didn't want to be involved, however, Otto got to him by talking about May.
"Ah Martin I forgot you were here... come join us!" Otto reached another arm out and wrapped it around Martin's neck pulling the man closer. "You were saying?" Otto asked as Martin struggled to break free.
"Anyway before I was interrupted Peter, I was saying that you are nothing but a walking curse.. so much death and for what?"
"Otto I swear if you talk about them again I will.." Otto squeezed Spider-Man head, causing him to scream in pain.
"You will do nothing. When the time comes I will kill you Peter, but first I want you to watch this city burn..."
Spider-Man tried his hardest to break the grip but it doesn't work.
"They say war always starts with a death, so here it is..." Otto turned to Martin and started to squueze his neck with his clawed arm, watching and smiling hearing the cracking of bones.
"No! STOP OTTO STOP!" Spider-Man struggled as he watched Otto strangle Martin.
"I WILL NEVER STOP UNTIL THE WORLD IS AT MY FEET!" Otto screamed out as he crushed Martin Li's windpipe, before releasing the lifeless man to fall to the floor, blood coming from his mouth.
"I will see you soon Parker!" Otto threw Spider-Man away by his head through a wall, knocking the masked hero unconscious. He looked down at the dead body of Martin Li and smiled before leaving through a hole in the ceiling.
Well, I hope everyone enjoyed Chapter 2! This story is only just beginning but I just really can't wait to show you what I have in store. I am motivated and ready to write. This chapter is longer than the first and they will hopefully all follow this format. What will happen next in chapter 3 when we catch up with Miles and Felicia gets told whether or not she is pregnant? FIND OUT SOON!
