Sorry I was later than wanted with this chapter, but I got super sick so I apologize for the long wait. I'll let you get into it! Happy reading!

"Gabby, I'm home," Casey called out once he realized the door was open to their bedroom and she wasn't on the couch, "Gabby?" Casey tried again. He looked around for a second clear confusion evident on his face as she was nowhere to be found. Until he walked further into the kitchen and almost slipped on something. What he saw with his own eyes was the last thing he'd ever have expected to accidentally step in. Blood. As panic crept into his system Casey turned the corner and the sight he found in front of him was the most horrific thing he had ever seen.

"Gabby…"

Matt frantically searched for his phone, it was in his pocket but all he was thinking about was getting his pregnant unconscious wife to the hospital. Her life depended on it.

"Okay Gabby, I'm getting you help just hold on, okay?" He checked her pulse, but he couldn't find one. Casey finally found his phone, the frantic husband muttering out swear words as he struggled to get the phone working. As soon as he dialed 911 and the phone started ringing, he sat it down next to her unconscious body as he began CPR. "Come on baby, come on." "Breathe for me baby, breathe." Casey practically cried out.

"911 what's your emergency?

Um- um- I came home and my wife was on the floor unconscious, she must've hit her head when she fell. The- there's a huge pool of blood and and she's 20 weeks pregnant, she's bleeding from her abdomen. There's just so much blood and she now has a faint pulse, but it's barely there. I need help! NOW.

Okay sir, we're going to get you some help alright? What's your address?

It's 911 W. 14th Place. Please hurry, I can't lose her!

They will be there in 5 minutes, sir."

"You're going to be okay baby, you gotta hold on for me. Please baby." Casey kept pressure on her head wound with one hand and her stomach with the other. "I really need you to stay with me."

"Casey! What happened?" The voices of Stella and Kelly being heard by Casey immediately, the man shooting up out of his seat as he stood up to face them, his friends immediately seeing the distress and sadness in the Captain's eyes. "I don't- I don't know. I came home and called out for her when I walked in, I couldn't find her anywhere. Then I accidentally walked over her blood and then I just found her laying there. She had a pretty nasty head wound and she was bleeding from her stomach. This can't be happening again, this pregnancy was supposed to be okay, this wasn't supposed to happen." He cried out, Kelly walking closer to him bringing his best friend in for a quick hug. "She's going to be okay, you have to believe that, okay?" "I cant- I can't lose her Kelly. I can't lose them. We just found out she's a girl, we can't lose another baby. I can't lose my girls." Casey stuttered out as more fresh tears began to creep down his cheeks, the more he blinked back his tears the more they started to fall. And eventually he broke. The next thing he knew, Kelly wrapped his arms around Casey just in time to break his fall. Severide immediately sitting him back in his seat, the man backing away from his friend to give him a moment to himself.

"Captain Casey?" Dr. Abrams called out as he made his way into the waiting room. "How's my wife? Can I see her?" "She's stable and alert, and she's asking for you." Dr. Abrams replied. "And my baby girl?" "They're both okay, but let's just take you to see them, yeah?" "Please."

"I'll give you two some privacy, Dr. Lacey should be back in with you shortly to discuss where to go from here in regards to the pregnancy, and I'll be in again after she's done." "Okay, thanks doc." Dr. Abrams nodded softly as he walked away to give the two some time to themselves.

Casey was about to knock before entering until he noticed she was sound asleep, the soft snores from Gabby evading his ears. He took the chair from up against the wall and quietly moved it to sit right next to Gabby's bed. As he knew she was just sleeping and not completely unconscious, he decided not to wake her, knowing her and their girl needed all the rest they could get.

"Matt?" Gabby groaned out, Matt still fast asleep. "Matt!" When Gabby tried a second time, Matt instantly shot up from his seat, the husband immediately getting up from the chair to sit on the bed right next to her. "Hey baby, you're awake." Casey whispered as he reached out to tuck a piece of Gabby's hair behind her ear. "What happened back at the house baby?" Casey spoke up again as he looked ahead at Gabby, her drained eyes barely awake as she prepared to answer her husband. "I-," she started, "I don't even know." She barely got out, Casey feeling fresh tears beginning to form in his eyes as she continued. "But, I went into the kitchen to grab a snack from the fridge because I got hungry again after dinner. Next thing I know I go to open the fridge door and get something to eat, but before I could do that I randomly started to feel a sharp stabbing pain in my stomach and that's when I thought to call you. I was just so scared because last time and just as I was able to grab my phone from the counter I don't even remember what happened next, I must've just passed out." More tears streamed down Gabby's face until they turned into full on sobs, Casey instantly pulling her into his arms as her sobs became heavier. "It's okay baby, you're both going to be okay. That's all that matters." Casey continued to whisper comforting words as Gabby's cries began to quiet down. "Sorry to interrupt," Dr. Lacey spoke up as she walked further into the room, "Ready to go over some things and check on your little girl once more?" Gabby nodded in response, as her husband leaned in to place a soft kiss to her forehead before getting up from the bed to stand beside her for the ultrasound. Gabby grabbed his hand with all her strength as they prepared to see their girl again on the monitor.

"Okay Gabby, let's see your girl one more time." Dr. Lacey spoke up as she began to apply the gel onto Gabby's small bump to get a good look at their baby. Gabby closed her eyes trying to stay calm despite the unsettling nerves building up in her stomach. The room shortly being filled with the rhythmic sound of their little girl's heartbeat. Gabby let out a small gasp as she almost didn't expect to hear one even though the heartbeat was just fine over an hour before. Gabby instantly felt Matt's hold on her hand tightening, the couple sharing a sweet look as Dr. Lacey continued to move along Gabby's stomach to make sure everything else checked out.

"Okay Gabby, Dr. Abrams will be in shortly to discuss the rest of your visit, but if it's signed off by him we should be able to get you back home by tomorrow morning. Everything with the baby is perfectly normal, we just have to make sure the rest of you are ready to be back home. When you do arrive home you don't need to exactly be on bed rest, but you need to get a lot of rest and please no heavy lifting. With those stitches and your growing body we don't want you to over exert yourself at all. Understood? Dr. Lacey finished. "Understood." Gabby spoke up with a soft smile. "Thanks, doctor." Matt replied with a smile. Dr. Lacey nodded as she said her final goodbyes to the couple.

"Need help?" Casey asked as he jogged over to Gabby's side of the car. "No, Matt I got it. I don't need your help." Gabby bit out with a stern look on her face, her face softening almost immediately as she realized her tone. "Sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it, I probably should have you help to be safe." Casey was not able to bite back the laugh he let out. "Hey, this doesn't happen very often, you should be so lucky I'm asking for your help." Gabby replied shyly, Casey laughing as he rested his hand on her lower back and grabbed her arm with his other. "There you go. Good?" "I'm good." The husband held onto his wife tightly as they began to move to their front porch and in through their front door.

Casey just got done with his after-shift shower, a little later than usual as he didn't exactly have time when he first got home. Matt walked out of their bathroom and into their bedroom as he walked over to their closet to get a new t-shirt and fresh pair of sweats. He knew he had to be quick because any second now Stella and Kelly were coming over so Kelly could help Casey start the nursery as a lot of shipments were coming in that needed to be lifted into the room. Stella was joining him so her and Gabby could have some long awaited girl time.

Gabby sat back down on the couch after taking a bathroom break, her little girl really pressing on her bladder this October morning. She grabbed her baby book and picked up where she last left off. Gabby's quiet reading was soon interrupted… again by a few quick knocks on the door. As she figured it was Kelly and Stella she went to get up, but not before she saw her husband jogging up to the door to welcome their guests. Gabby sighing as she walked over to greet them too.

"Hey you guys!" Gabby greeted as she made herself present in the doorway. "Hey girl!" Stella exclaimed as Gabby pulled her close friend in for a hug. "How are you? I'm so glad you're okay." "Yeah, I am. I'm okay." Gabby replied as the two friends finally separated. "Kelly, how are you?" "I'm good, really glad you're okay Gabs." "Thank you." Gabby ended the conversation as they pulled back. "Alright Sev, how about we leave these two to catch up and we can start moving the baby stuff from the living room?" Casey suggested as he guided Severide towards the room. Casey stopped to give his wife a quick kiss on the forehead before heading out into the living room. "We can make some coffee and talk at the kitchen table if you'd like Stella." "Yeah that sounds great." Stella replied with a bright smile.

"So girl now that's it just you and me are you really feeling okay? I didn't know if this was too soon for you to have company or not." Stella asked hesitantly. "I promise I'm okay." Gabby replied as she rubbed her friend's arm. "Okay I'm glad, you gave us all quite a scare." "I know, Hermann and Boden reached out this morning and Brett did come by last night to visit me for a bit while Matt had to duck out for a couple hours. I made him take his construction job he had planned for weeks now." "I'm sure that was very hard for him to do." Stella spoke with a laugh. "Oh it was, but we don't back out on plans we make especially when he's getting paid and God knows we need the money, babies ain't cheap." Gabby replied back earning a loud laugh from Stella. The two friends continued to talk after not seeing each other for a while with her working at OFI for this pregnancy.

It's been a few hours since Severide and Kidd left because they had to get ready for shift the next morning. Matt was going to take the whole week off and return to work the following, but just like his construction job Gabby had convinced him to go to work. Casey tried to assure her he wanted to be there for her and that they would be okay financially, but Gabby was having none of it. Her hormones have been crazy shot with this second trimester and so he chalked it up to that.

"You feeling alright baby?" Casey asked his wife as he reentered their living room, their quiet afternoon being interrupted by heavy rain pouring outside their window. "Yeah, I'm good, just took some of the pain medication, Dr. Abrams prescribed it for nighttime so I'm good." Gabby reassured her husband as she pulled him in for a quick kiss. "What was that for?" Casey spoke up as they separated, a slight grin appearing on his face. "Just because I love you and you take such great care of me." Gabby responded with a smile, the couple pulling in for one more kiss.

"Babe?" "Yeah?" "I think it's time we discuss our top choice baby names." "Really?" Casey responded with his blue eyes gleaming back at her. "I think that sounds like a plan, you want to go first?" Matt asked his wife, the sparkle in her eyes immediately telling him she wanted to go first. "I do, let me get my list real quick." Gabby rambled out before giving Casey a quick head kiss and quickly walked off to grab that baby name list of hers. "Oh you made a list, huh?"

I hope ya'll enjoyed! I figured after the cliffhanger I gave you all last week, I'd end this one on a light note. I have an official chapter number for baby Casey's arrival, but until then expect pregnant Gabby! See ya'll next time!
