WARNING: LOTS OF SPOILERS in the beginning. Some of it isn't exactly like the 100-year quest, I changed it up a bit for my story but if you're not caught up to book 7 then I highly recommend you do NOT read this chapter. There will be a recap of this chapter in the beginning of Chapter 2, and it will be a summary of what came out of my brain, not giving anything away in 100-year quest so you can jump right into that without needing to read this chapter. Just please be patient until I post the second chapter. AGAIN: SPOILERS.

Chapter 1

Laxus returns to his normal self and looks over to see Erza on the ground lying next to him. He can tell she's taken a beating, but he has no memory of what could have happened. He picks her up and carries her on his back and heads out of the building and onto an empty street. As he's walking, he sees a shiny object in a puddle of water next to a pond with celestial magic coming off of it. He goes over and snags it up and is confused when he recognizes the key. He puts it in his pocket and decides now is not the time to figure out what Blondie's spirit is doing over there and not with her. On his way down the street the ground beneath his feet starts rumbling and he takes off into a run. All of a sudden these plants sprout from the ground and runs even faster to not let the stupid plant people get them.

Unexpectedly they all disappear, and he runs into Jellal.

"Jellal!" Laxus shouts.

"Laxus! And Erza… Are you both okay?" Jellal questions.

"I don't know what the hell is going on! When I came to, Erza was just lying there looking like someone's punching bag."

"But who could-?!" Jellal is silent for a moment … "I woke up hog-tied and naked. What is going on here?"

"I saw this thing, but it left almost as soon as it showed up."

There's a rumbling in the ground and something rises up from the ground. It turns out to be a man, a tree man with light medium length hair, black on his hands all the way up to his elbows and some on his face. He wears a cape that is tattered and torn at the bottom.

"I'm the God Seed Gears and I'm going to tear out all the cogs Aldoron doesn't need."

"Look after Erza for me." Jellal requests of Laxus.

"Huh? You're not exactly in top shape yourself…"

"Let me handle this."

And let the battle commence.

With Laxus and Erza:

"What in the hell is Aquarius doing all the way out here? Lucy takes such good care of her spirits so how in the hell… She has to be losing her mind." An uncharacteristic smile appears on Laxus's face. "I would be lying if I said I wasn't happy to be the one to put that beautiful smile on her face."

Erza comes to in the middle of Laxus's rambling.

"Where am I?"

"You awake Erza?"

"Yeah…"

"Dunno what happened, but you and I were pretty roughed up."

'Yeah because of you!' Erza shouts in her head. "Water under the bridge… Are you sane again?"

"Sane? Did something have control of me?"

"Know what? Nevermind." Erza tries to get up, but Laxus stops her.

"Stop. You're not going anywhere in that shape."

"But I can feel Jellal's magic. I have to go."

"Your boyfriend can take care of himself."

"My what? No! We aren't- It's not like that! I… We… No! I swear we aren't!"

Laxus just smirks.

Erza smirks back, "So how are you going to be putting a beautiful smile on Lucy's face?"

"Uhhh… How much did you hear?" Laxus asks nervously looking away with a little pink dusting his cheeks.

Before Erza can say anything else they see a gigantic Gajeel.

"Gajeel?!" Erza exclaims.

"I always knew he was kind of a monster, but…"

"Look who's talking! Is he really fighting Aldoron?"

All of a sudden a sword storm rain down upon them and Laxus is hit in the shoulder.

"Goddammit!"

They come across Jellal, and he directs them to follow him. And all of a sudden a massive amount of flames burst out of Aldoron's body.

Time Skip

The dragon Aldoron is defeated and Fairy Tail celebrates at an inn in Dramil, several kilometers to the east of where Aldoron was. Mira asks the story about the dragon. Laxus hazards a guess that it has to do with the 100-year quest and Gray confirms it. They know that Team Natsu aren't able to talk about it, so Gajeel changes the subject to Touka. They inform that Touka is actually an exceed. The White Mage entered her body and then changed her shape to look like a human.

Makarov shouts, "Well whatever happened, let's celebrate our reunion, even though it's in this strange land!"

"CHEERS!" everyone shouts in unison.

Natsu barrel surfs and get motion sickness. Seriously you would think the guy would have learned his lesson by now.

Gray of course has lost ALL of his clothes and is standing in the inn buck naked. Juvia runs to him to give him a hug and Gray happily accepts it.

"I'm so glad you're safe Gray-sama!"

"Yeah, you too."

Members of the guild are shocked to see Gray hug her back with a smile on his face. When they pull apart Juvia hands him his clothes to put back on.

Lisanna comes up to the bar to sit next to Lucy who is drinking a strawberry milkshake (that is not as good as Mira's but still good none the less) Lucy is happily watching her guildmates and peeks at a certain lightning dragon slayer now and then until Lisanna taps her on the shoulder.

"Hey Lucy! May I talk to you?"

Lucy turns to face Lisanna. "Of course, what is it you want to talk about?"

"Well, umm.. Do you… Do you like Natsu?"

"Of course I do!" After seeing the expression on Lisanna's face, she quickly adds, "but not in that way!"

"Are you sure? Because Natsu talks about you a lot and all of the missions you've done together, and then there's everyone thinking you two are in love with each other."

"Oh, dear Mavis no! He's no more than a brother to me." Lucy sighs, "I get why everyone would think that but trust me, I know the feeling is mutual with him. I'm his sister, nothing more."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm very sure. I also happen to know that he feels the same way about you that you do him." Lucy nudges Lisanna with her elbow.

"Really?"

"Really! I'm his sister after all, I have to know these things. I think you two are good for each other!"

"Why hasn't Natsu said anything to me?"

"Because he's a dense idiot and doesn't realize it so you're the one that will have to ask him out."

They hear a squeal and when they look towards the direction the sound came from, Mira is on the floor going on about babies. Both Lisanna and Lucy turn to each other giggling.

"So, Lucy, is there anyone you like?"

Lucy blushes, "N-no one." Trying hard not to glance at Laxus.

"Liar. Is it someone in the guild?"

"Come on, let's go see Natsu and the rest." Lucy grabs Lisanna's hand and drags her to the table, where her team plus Juvia are at. Lucy plops Lisanna down, right next to Natsu. "Natsu, Lisanna has something she would like to ask you."

"L-L-Lucy! Now?" Lisanna stutters.

"No time like the present." Lucy sits next to Erza.

"Hey Lisanna!" Natsu looks at her and grins.

"Hey N-Natsu. I was wondering if umm… Maybe when you return home from the quest if you would like to go on a date with me?"

"Sure Lisanna! What would you like to do?"

"Maybe go somewhere to have dinner together."

"But we can have dinner here."

Lucy, Gray, Juvia and Erza mentally facepalm.

"Yes, we could, but I was thinking about going somewhere in Fiore just you and me, away from everyone else."

"Okay!"

Happy pipes up, "They liiiiike each other." Both Natsu and Lisanna blush.

Lucy thinks to herself 'it's about damn time'.

Cana puts a mug of alcohol in front of Lucy. "C'mon Luce! Drink with me!"

"No, thank you Cana." She declines. She doesn't want to embarrass herself by asking Natsu or anyone else to make her purr like a cat.

Elsewhere in the Inn…

Laxus is sitting at the bar watching everyone. His interest is peaked when he hears Lisanna ask who Lucy likes. She doesn't give an answer, instead she drags Lisanna over to their table so she can ask Natsu out.

'I'm glad Freed didn't ask too many questions when I asked him to put runes on Aquarius's key, so Lucy can't detect her yet. I wouldn't even know the answers. Now when and how do I approach her…'

As he's watching Lucy, he listens in on Macao's and Wakaba's conversation.

"She looked so rough and sexy and strong in that outfit. A bikini and armor on her arms and legs." Macao states with a dreamy look in his eye.

"She also had a scorpion tail that shot out sand just like her spirit Scorpio. The symbol on her bikini looked familiar." Wakaba says.

Laxus takes his eyes off of Lucy when Freed joins in on the conversation, "That would be Aquarius's. She combined two star dresses. Aquarius x Scorpio to create the move Aqua Storm."

This makes Laxus and Freed question internally even more about Aquarius's key. As far as they knew she needs her keys to use her star dresses.

Freed continues, "Miss Lucy has come so far. Her ability to use Star Dresses has not been seen for 400 years."

"Regardless, she looked smoking hot, and boy did it do some crazy damage. She's now as destructive as the rest of her team," Wakaba says with a cigar hanging from his mouth.

Laxus looks back over at Lucy. When Laxus first met her, he called her weak and someone not worthy of being a member of Fairy Tail, though he still would have kept her around because of how hot she is. He also wouldn't help with the attack from Phantom Lord unless she became his woman. 'I was a royal ass' Laxus internally berates himself. He really did want Lucy to be his girlfriend though. His desire grew after the punishments from Team B to Team A. That bunny suit took him back to a memory he will never forget. He then thinks about how he has never really seen Lucy in action, aside from the GMG, or witness her using her star dress ability.

"See something you like boss?" Bickslow nudges his elbow into Laxus's side. Boss Boss

"Don't know what you're talking about." Laxus takes his eyes off of Lucy and looks away and tries to hide the tint of pink dusting his cheeks.. He didn't even realize he had still been staring at her.

"Are you sure?" Ever grins behind her fan, "because it sure seems like it."

"Tch" is the response he gives them.

"He has a thing for Cosplayer," Bickslow smirks with his tongue hanging out, the guild mark showing. Cosplayer Cosplayer.

"No." Laxus is quick to answer and shoots a glare at Bickslow.

"Riiiight," Ever says with her fan still in front of her face to hide her smile.

Freed smiles smugly being the only one who knows how truly in love Laxus is with the woman. Bickslow and Evergreen look at him with a questioningly look.

They then hear a crash and see Natsu and Gray fly across the inn and realization dawns on them that they did something stupid to receive a Lucy kick. Laxus smirks remembering the first time he saw her Lucy-Kick those two idiots.

*Flashback*

Everyone is back at the guild celebrating the safe return of their members that were stuck on the island. No one questions as to why Laxus is there, but just leave it alone so he can catch up with his friends before he has to go. Freed has put up a rune barrier in case a brawl starts. They're laughing and having a good time until they hear Natsu and Gray fighting. When they look over in that direction they see them bump into Erza causing her face to land in her cake.

"Oh fuck, Erza is going to kick their ass." Laxus says.

"Actually Laxus-sama, a lot has changed," Freed tells him, "it's not only Erza they have to worry about anymore."

As Freed says this, Lucy Lucy-kicks the two guys and yells, "YOU IDIOTS!" They are sent flying across the guild and smack into the rune barrier. There's a loud thump when they hit it and slide down to the floor.

Laxus's jaw is dropped, "What the fuck was that?"

With a shudder Bixlow says, "A Lucy kick. Trust me, they hurt like a bitch. You really don't want to be on the receiving end of one of those." like a bitch like a bitch

Lucy walks over to her two teammates and nudges them with her foot. "hmm… knocked them out cold," she says quietly and then looks up to see Laxus and the Thunder Legion staring at her. "Hey Guys! Oh Evergreen, I have a gift for you."

Evergreen gives her a confused look, "You do?"

"Yeah! Your birthday was during the S-class trials, and I meant to give this to you afterwards." Virgo pops out and gives it to Evergreen after Freed brings the rune barrier down.

Evergreen opens the gift and is left speechless.

"I hope you like it."

"Lucy…. I love it! But this dress must have cost a fortune."

"It's one of the dresses I took with me when I left the Konzern and when we were talking about clothes I knew you would appreciate it. I can have Virgo make alterations for you."

Evergreen jumps up and gives Lucy a hug. "Thank you so much!"

Laxus thinks about how he has never seen his teammate so happy. Just like the rest of the group, she had a hard time making friends with everyone else in the guild and here's this girl who was turned to stone by Evergreen not only giving her a gift but is now inviting her to a girl's night.

Freed puts the rune barrier back up after Lucy leaves dragging Natsu and Gray behind her. Laxus learns from his team that she's actually a really sweet person. She was the first one to make them still feel welcome in the guild which completely baffled them. He also learns that Lucy's intelligence rival's Freed's, shares the same interest in clothes and other girly things as Ever, and she's not creeped out by Bixlow's magic or his babies. In fact, occasionally she'll bring out a spirit or two to play with them. When he learns all of this it makes him feel like an even bigger dick for the way he treated her. The person he called a weak bimbo and blamed for the Phantom Lord incident took care of his friends by becoming their first friend in the guild other than himself and each other.

*Flashback Ends*

Lucy ended up kicking Natsu and Gray into Elfman and a brawl breaks out. 'It's not a Fairy Tail party without a good brawl.' Laxus thinks to himself with a smile on his face.

Lucy looks over at the bar and sees a smile that's rarely there on Laxus's face. She gathers up courage and takes advantage of the distraction the brawl has created and walks up to him. "Would you like to go for a walk?"

A/N Spoilers end here. From here on out anything that is mentioned that belongs to Hiro Mashima it'll be from before the 100-year quest. And yes I do know it won't be this easy for Lucy to get Aquarius's key back. I'm really looking forward to see how that plays out. Also, I'm trying to work around the Touka and Faris situation. This is supposed to be just a LaLu and I'm trying to avoid going into anything else regarding the 100-year quest.
