A/N: Better late than never.

"I don't understand why we have to dress up for this." Beca complained as she slipped on her long coat. She turned to her date for inspection, afterall a mirror wouldn't do her much good.

"You look marvelous as always." Chloe slipped her hand around Beca's waist. "And you know that Conrad is excited for this. Her little experiment has apparently born fruit." She placed her lips against Beca's neck, making the shorter girl tremble at the touch. "Besides, her castle has so many rooms, we might just get lost."

Beca whimpered, never really able to control herself around her mistress. "The last time I got lost with you I ended up with the most awful pain in my neck."

Chloe smiled, letting her fangs drop so she could scrape them across Beca's skin. "Play your cards right and that may just happen again." She pulled away, leaving Beca a whimpering mess. "Now hurry up. We're going to be late."

"Fine," Beca whined as she finished straightening out her dress. It was blood red with black accents, the perfect attire for a vampire. Chloe wore a similar ensemble but hers was more embellished, fitting for a vampire of her stature. They made their way through their home, it wasn't a castle but the estate was impressive. Lots of land for…various activities.

A carriage was waiting for them, heavy curtains on the inside just in case they needed to travel during the day. The driver gave the women a tip of his hat as they climbed inside, the ride to Dr. Conrad's castle wasn't too terribly long which was good since Chloe couldn't sit still.

"Relax," Beca took Chloe's hand. "We'll be there any minute."

"I know. I just hope that her research proves successful." Chloe closed her eyes, "I'm excited to see her again."

They traveled in silence the rest of the way, just listening to the rumble of the wheels and the howling wind outside. Eventually the carriage came to a stop, Beca peeked through the curtains to see the massive castle that sat on the edge of a sheer cliff. It was one of the oldest structures around, with gargoyles lining the roof and a strange metallic structure protruding from the tallest tower. After exiting the carriage, Chloe and Beca walked arm and arm as they crossed through the portcullis. The interior was just as splendid, large paintings adorned the walls and there was a fireplace crackling happily on the far wall.

"You're here!" Dr. Conrad appeared from a side door, a wide smile on her face but her eyes looked a bit weary. "It's almost ready."

Chloe let go of Beca's arm to rush across the room. She gave their friend a hug, smiling. "Will it work? Is this actually possible?"

"All my tests support it. The rats are just as…lively as ever." Conrad chuckled at her own joke. "Come with me."

She led the vampires down some stairs to the depths of the castle. At the end of the stairs was a large metal door, lined with chains and locks that the doctor started to work through. "Just a second."

The chains fell away and the door opened with a terrible screech. Inside was a cluttered assortment of scientific experiments, long glass tubes filled with oddly colored liquids that mixed together in large containers. In the center of the room was a raised dais, with four long chains holding something beneath a trap door.

"Is that where her body is?" Beca asked as she took a closer look.

The doctor nodded her head vigorously. "Yes. If my predictions are correct, come midnight there will be a storm none have seen before." She turned to Chloe who was perusing the various instruments. "There is but one ingredient missing."

Chloe turned and held out her hand. "Of course Stacie. Take all that you require."

Stacie rushed across the room, drawing a knife and a small cup from behind her back. "The blood of an elder vampire, its properties still fascinate me." She drew the blade across Chloe's outstretched palm, catching the stream of blood in her cup. "That ought to be enough. Lilly!"

Stacie's quiet assistant seemed to appear out of the shadows. "Yes mistress?"

"It is almost time." Even in the dungeon of the castle they could hear the wind picking up outside. "Raise the platform."

"As you wish, mistress." Lilly scurried away into the dark. A few minutes later they could hear the rattling of chains from above. The small hatch on the dais opened, lifting the body of Aubrey Posen into the air.

"You've done magnificent work, Stacie." Beca said as she examined the body. There were small rivets in the women's neck but other than that you would not be able to tell that Aubrey had died nearly forty years ago. "I expected more decay."

"The marvels of refrigeration my dear Beca." Stacie gestured to the dais. "We've kept her on ice for as long as possible. It has kept most of the rot away." A closer look revealed that there were thin whips of mist emanating from beneath the lid. "But the cold won't help her brain." She held up the glass containing Chloe's blood. "That's where this comes in." Taking the blood to one of her work tables, Stacie picked up a syringe and carefully extracted the dark liquid. She returned to the corpse and, with a little effort, inserted the syringe into Aubrey's chest. "It might take a few minutes but once the blood starts to flow through her veins the restorative properties of vampiric plasma should restore the brain and any other damaged organs to perfect working order."

Stacie caressed Aubrey's cheek before connecting two metal clamps to the rivets in the blonde's neck. "Lift her higher Lilly!" The platform moved again, lifting Aubrey close to the ceiling. "The clamps are connected to the antenna on the tower. You may have seen it when you got here." Thunder crashed outside making everyone look to the ceiling. "Any minute now."

The entire castle shook as electricity crackled down the wires and the entire room filled with the smell of burning ozone. Sparks flew once the electricity reached Aubrey, followed by a scream.

"She's alive." Stacie said in awe. "SHE'S ALIVE!"

Chloe and Beca watched as the platform was lowered. What was once Aubrey's corpse was now struggling against the restraints that kept her tied to the wooden plank. Stacie rushed over, her eyes filled with wonder. "It worked. It really worked!"

"How long until she's not," Beca waved her hand at the frothing mouth twitching limbs. "Like that?"

"A few minutes." Stacie replied. "Depends on how long the blood takes to heal."

They watched as Aubrey started to settle. Her erratic breathing and painful moans shifted to labored breaths. Finally she settled, her eyes opening to see the concerned faces of the other three.

"Chloe?" Aubrey asked in confusion, the redhead was the only one she knew before her death. "Where am I?"

"Welcome back Lady Posen." Chloe smiled at her long lost friend. "Do you remember anything?

Aubrey's brow contorted as she tried to recall. "We were at a ball. Lord Hector was trying to woo me but I refused his advances. We were on the balcony, there was a sharp pain and then nothing." She looked to her friend who was nodding along.

"Lord Hector took your refusal personally and stabbed you in retaliation." Chloe stood up a little straighter. "He was dealt with."

"Fascinating," Stacie leaned in to take a closer look at Aubrey's face. "I did not think she would retain that much memory. Especially after her brain had been on ice for so long."

Aubrey gave her a funny look. "Chloe, who are these people?"

"My apologies," Chloe gestured to Stacie. "This is Doctor Anastasia Conrad, she's the one that saved your life. And this," She gestured to Beca. "Is Rebecca Mitchell. My loyal consort."

Aubrey tried to sit but was stopped by her restraints. "Could you remove these please?"

Stacie and Beca quickly undid the leather bindings, allowing Aubrey to sit up and embrace her friend. She swung her legs over the edge and almost fell but Chloe managed to catch her.

"How do you feel?" Chloe asked as she steadied Aubrey to stand on her own two feet.

"It's strange." Aubrey said. "I feel stronger in some ways. But it feels like there's a fog in my mind." She shook her head while placing a hand to her eye. "There's something else…like a twitch in my knee." Aubrey tried to stand up but her leg kept jerking so that her foot stomped on the ground.

"Very peculiar," Stacie leaned down to study Aubrey's leg. "It's probably just excess electricity causing involuntary muscle contractions. Here let me see–" She tried to grab Aubrey's leg but as soon as her hand touched Aubrey's skin there was a loud pop and Stacie jerked her hand back. "Ow!"

Stacie rubbed her fingers for a second before her hand started to move side to side. "What the heck is happening?" The rest of her arm started to move as well, swinging back and forth in time with Aubrey's stomps.

"Well this is weird." Beca tried to grab Stacie's arm, only to get shocked herself. Her shoulders started to shimmy up and down.

Chloe watched in a strange mixture of fascination and terror as all three of her friends started to uncontrollably dance even though there was no music other than their stomping feet and clapping hands. Beca lurched towards Chloe, reaching out to grab the redhead. Chloe stumbled back rushing up the stairs, eager to escape. She managed to make it to the entry hall only to see that other guests had arrived.

"Chloe?" Emily, Cynthia Rose, Flo and their entire pack of werewolves seemed to be there. "Is everything okay?" The young woman rushed to her friend just as Aubrey reached the top of the steps. Sparks flew from the rivets in the blonde's neck as she grabbed Chloe's shoulder. An arc of electricity jumped along their bodies that made Emily stagger back. Emily stood still for a second before throwing back her head and howling, the other members of her pack joining her.

Somehow, they all started to dance together. Beca jigged past Stacie, a very annoyed look on her face. "What the hell is happening?"

"How should I know?" Stacie growled. "No one's ever attempted anything like this before. My best guess is that the electrical current mixed with the infectious nature of vampire blood could be stimulating muscle contractions."

"And the dancing?"

"I have no idea."

Music started playing from somewhere above them, a quick look showed that there was a ghostly string quintet flying near the ceiling, led by two indistinguishable specters. At the same time several zombies marched through the door in a conga line, led by a rather large undead that boisterously proclaimed that the party could actually start.

It didn't end until the wee hours of the morning, with some monsters still swinging back and forth. Aubrey finally collapsed next to Chloe, who was keeping a tired eye on the whole affair.

"Next time," Aubrey huffed. "Maybe don't have a mad scientist toy with the laws of nature."

"Oh come on Bree." Chloe gestured to the group. "That was sort of fun."

Beca flopped down next to her lover, breathing heavily even though she didn't really need to breathe. "I say that Stacie isn't allowed to go near her laboratory for a few months."

"That's not fair." Stacie sat on the floor. "This was an unprecedented success!" She gestured to Aubrey. "She's alive isn't she?" They all had to agree to that. "And besides, this could have amazing world conquering capabilities."

"Okay," Beca stood back up. "That's enough for one night." She helped Chloe back to her feet and offered a hand to Aubrey.

"Don't worry, crazy monster mash aside life after death is way more fun."
