DISCLAIMER: I think you already know that I, just another Harry and Hermione shipper, can't possible own anything of this wonderful world. Otherwise I would be enjoying the premieres of the movies with the stars. Everything in the magical universe of Harry Potter belongs to J.K. Rowling.

A/N 1. - Thank you so much for all of the darling people who have reviewed. THANK YOU!!! You know I could put an entire page thanking you, but I think it would be better to just continue with the story. To those who were a little "put-down" about Ron and Hermione, don't worry, it feel rather icky, to put it lightly, to write about them. I totally concur that they don't make a good pairing, but I just had to put it in to make the story interesting. But don't worry, the chapters are coming along, and Harry and Hermione romance is promise to come your way. So please don't despair and hang on with me. And as always REVIEW!!!! I need to know if you like how the story is going.

A/N 2. - This is my second fic of H/Hr, so please be merciful, I am still learning the trade. I hope you enjoy it, and that you will give me feedback in order to improve the work. Well on with the show.

Chapter Four

As soon as they heard Hagrid's booming voice calling the first years towards him, they knew they had arrived at the Hogsmead Station. The three of them were talking, while walking among the throng of students covered up in black robes; greeting along the way familiar faces and situations. "Amazing how Neville manages to loose something every single year." Harry thought with a smile as his gaze fell upon Neville, who was frantically running around asking for this year lost possession.

The trio were heading to where the horseless carriages where located. Harry was sporting an enormous smile. Everything was turning out very well. His stomach was filled with delicious sweets; on the duration of the trip they didn't encounter any "unpleasant" person. Quite the contrary a few minutes into their journey they were joined by the twins and Ginny and the entire train trip was filled with laughter and fun, provided by the twins. Within a few minutes he was going to be back to Hogwarts, the only place that he felt at home, eating a wonderful feast and enjoying with all of his friends. And right in this instant he was walking between Ron and Hermione, like he had done millions of times before, hearing Ron ranting about this year's Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. It all was blissfully perfect. But his little bubble of happiness was violently bursted just as Ron started muttering something incoherent and getting extremely red, this could only mean one thing, and for some reason Harry didn't wanted it to happen.

"Ron what are you mumbling?" Hermione snapped, after spending five minutes trying to understand him.

"Well...I was just suggesting that we get in a carriage together." Ron sputtered at last.

"Don't be stupid, Ron. We always go together in a carriage you don't have to ask." She said as she made her way to a particular carriage that was empty, and lifted her leg to the little wooden step to get in.

But with a swift move Ron grabbed her arm, and stopped her from getting in. "No! I meant, WE get a carriage together, you and me." Ron's ears got even redder when he saw Hermione's confused glare. "You know...ALONE..." He spoke slowly as if speaking to a small child so she would understand.

There it was, it was like a brick hitting him straight in his face. Harry came to this conclusion as he saw the exchange of glances between his friends. "Ohhh.." Hermione spoke, finally understanding Ron's proposal and immediately turning to see Harry. "Oh Ron, we just can't to that and leave Harry all alone." Hermione began her eyes never leaving Harry.

Pity. That was the last feeling he liked receiving, and it was a thousand times worse if coming from Hermione. Was this how the rest of the school years were going to be? Always having to escape somewhere else, just so that Ron and Hermione could be alone? From now on always being the third wheel? Something else was bothering him, something that had to do with the idea of Ron alone in a closed space with Hermione.where nobody could see them. He immediately shivered, not wanting to even think about that.

"..we always ride together to Hogwarts, it's like a tradition." Hermione was saying. During all of Harry's inner turmoil he had missed Hermione's speech of why Ron's idea was a wrong suggestion.

"It's quite alright." Harry broke in. He didn't desire to stand with them, just watching Ron clutching Hermione's hand in his. And besides, he didn't want to hear more of her pity arguments.

Hermione was surprised by Harry's words, and came back down from the step she was on. "Are you sure?" She asked her voice low, searching for his eyes.

"Yeah...I mean why would I mind anyway?" He said, in what he hoped was a nonchalant tone, looking everywhere except her eyes. For some reason he felt if he looked straight at her right now he would say something completely wrong.

"Yes...of course, why would you." Hermione repeated her voice was strange as she saw him not even giving her the benefit of eye contact. "Well...come on then." She said shortly to Ron, before getting on the carriage.

Ron hit Harry's arm lightly. "Thanks mate...well wish me luck." Said Ron as he was going to follow Hermione. "Luck?" Harry repeated, not quite sure if he wanted to know the answer.

"Yes...let's see if your previous advice works...see you at Hogwarts." He said as with a huge jump he got into the carriage and waved before it started moving.

"Ron! Wait! What are you going to do?" Harry shouted hoping to get an answer. "Why do I care? Let them do whatever they want." Thought Harry as he walked around looking for Fred and George or another friendly face to share the journey with. He started to make his way to a few steps ahead where he saw bright red hair. But when we got to the place he found it was Ginny and not the twins. "Hey Ginny, have you seen Fred and George?" Harry asked.

Ginny turned to him and as always spent various seconds looking at her feet before answering him. "They already got into a carriage with Lee." Ginny answered.

"Oh." Harry simply stated.

Ginny watched him for a while, and her face got bright red before she spoke. "You could...you could come in a carriage with me if you don't mind." Ginny spoke lightly twirling a piece of her robe in her finger. "I saw Ron and Hermione leave...and if you're alone...well you know...you could come...with me."

Harry looked around searching for another friendly face, Dean or Seamus...whomever. But not such luck, the station was emptying and nobody he knew was left. "Ok sure." He said with a not so enthusiastic voice.

"Hello Harry!!" A perky voice was heard just as Harry was helping Ginny into the carriage.

"Hi Colin." The still little Colin Creevey with his mouse blonde hair was standing right in front of him.

"Hey Harry, you wouldn't mind if my brother and me went in the same carriage as you, would you?" Colin asked excitedly as Harry mentally groaned. Ginny stuck her head out as she probably heard Colin's request, glaring hardly at the boy.

Harry was having trouble deciding what could possibly be worse. Spending the entire ride answering the endless questions from the Creevey brother's or just sitting their completely uncomfortable with Ginny just staring at him, like she did the whole summer. "Sure Colin, get in." He said with a little small smile as he let the Creeveys get in first.

"Hello Ginny." Colin greeted with a smile in his face as he sat beside her. Harry struggled to suppress a giggle at the face Ginny was giving to an oblivious Colin. "Well at least it won't be boring." Harry thought just as the carriage started its way.

There first day of classes finally came and Hermione couldn't be more excited to start. As always she had started to read in advance the books from these semesters' classes. Ron was a little annoyed that she had preferred to walk to the Great Hall for breakfast with several books in her hand rather than link it with his.

"This year's Transfiguration class looks extremely interesting." Hermione stated as she took her seat at the Gryffindor table.

"Which translates into: this year's Transfiguration class will be utterly difficult and with tons of homework." Ron said as he took the seat next to her.

Harry smiled while he sat in front of them. "Thank God, food!!" Ron exclaimed as he grabbed the spoon and started pilling up a mountain of fried eggs with several sausages sticking out in odd angles. Immediately he attacked.

Hermione gave a disgusted look to Ron, whom was so immersed in eating that he didn't even notice. "Honestly Ron how can you devour such large amounts of food?"

"Hey! I'm in the middle of my growth spur. I have to eat well in order to grow." Ron defended himself before sticking two sausages in his mouth at the same time.

"Great plan Ron, just as long as you're careful to what side you grow." Harry said as Hermione was extending her hand to serve the little amount of eggs that Ron had left, but Harry beat her to the platter. He took a spoon- full of fried eggs and placed them on Hermione's plate before starting on his own. "Want sausage?" Harry asked Hermione after fighting for quite a few minutes with Ron for the platter.

"There is only one left, you better take it." Hermione said glancing annoyingly at Ron. "Honestly there were more than fifteen sausages in the plate." She muttered.

"No that's ok you take it." Said Harry as he placed the sausage on Hermione's plate.

"But you love sausage, you take it. I'll have some bacon." Hermione said and took the sausage and put it on Harry's plate.

"Hermione, I know you prefer sausage to bacon. You take it." Harry argued as he changed the location of the sausage anew to Hermione's plate.

"But you."

"OH FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE IT JUST A BLOODY SAUSAGE. IF NEITHER ONE OF YOU IS GOING TO EAT IT THEN GIVE IT TO ME!!!!" Ron screamed annoyed at the little exchange between Harry and Hermione.

"Is your stupid fault that we are even having this discussion, for shoveling all of the sausages by yourself, instead of sharing like a normal friend!!" Hermione argued as she grabbed her fork and cut the sausage in half, passing a half to Harry.

After the little 'discussion' at breakfast, Ron apologized to Hermione, and promised he would never eat that much again. But somehow Harry knew that Ron had just said that to make Hermione forgive him, and that he didn't plan on keeping that promise.

Herbology had been their first class of the day and like other years they shared it with the Hufflepuffs. "Thank God for small gifts." Ron put in as he preferred a million times the friendly Hufflepuffs than the horrible Slytherins.

On their way to the dungeons to take their Potions class Ron was begging Hermione to let her take her hand. "I just don't think is a good idea Ron." Hermione said firmly and walked rapidly.

"Why not? After all we are boyfriend and girlfriend." Ron argued as he took her hand and didn't let it go.

Harry didn't had another choice that to look to the side. He just couldn't make himself look at this kind of interaction between his friends.

"Oh my god! If this isn't the most disgusting sight I have ever laid eyes on." A drawling voice pierced Ron and Hermione's conversation. Making Harry face the owner, with sick anticipation. "I can't believe it, Weasel and the mudblood?" Draco continued walking slowly towards them, his goons Crabbe and Goyle like always laughing.

"Shut up Malfoy!" Ron warned, dropping Hermione's hand, to face Malfoy.

"I suppose you are made for each other. I mean who would want to date poor bastard like you Weasel?" Draco continued completely ignoring Ron's menacing gaze. "Only a dirty little mud."

This time Harry interrupted. "You better shut up Malfoy, I am in no mood to be standing you idiotic banter."

Draco flinched, but tried to not lead on. "And why are you so angry Potter? Don't tell me you also wanted a part of the little bit."

Harry advanced before Ron could even blink, grabbing Malfoy by the collar. "Don't you even dare finish that sentence or I swear." Harry roared, Draco fighting to rip his hands off of his collar.

"You swear what Potter?" The cold voice of professor Snape was heard, the three of them turned around to find him walking with a strong stride towards them. "Will you kindly unhand Mr. Malfoy?" He asked coolly as he stood beside Harry. "First day of class and you have already earned the first ten points off for Gryffindor for this beastly behavior." He smirked slightly as he put a hand on Draco's shoulders and led him into the classroom. Harry and his friends didn't bother to say anything, knowing very well that it wouldn't do any good. "Come along you three, or ten more points will be taken off for being late to class." The dull but content voice of Snape called through the door, making Harry, Ron and Hermione move to enter their class.

After another terrible Potions class, of watching professor Snape pick constantly on Neville, take another five points because Seamus had sneezed when Neville's potion started wheezing orange smoke and of hearing the constant remarks against Ron and Hermione, calling them Hogwarts knew star couple; the trio separated. Hermione ran to her Arithmancy (A/N: Ok I forgot how to write this. HELP, is that right?? Please tell me) class and Harry and Ron dragged their feet not really wanting to end the day with the equally terrible class of Divination. Harry and Ron were in such bad mood that they didn't make fun of anything that professor Trelawney had said to the class or about the new methods they were engaging this semester for the prediction of the future. Unfortunately professor Trelawney had taken their serious attitude as new gain respect of her class and was paying extra attention to the both of them.

Finally the class ended, and Ron and Harry were grabbing their bags ready to leave when professor Trelawney spoke to them. "Wait. I can feel something cold engulfing your beings." She began in a cool monotone voice. Ron groaned as he was expecting this, but Harry staid quiet, professor Trelawney was in the same kind of trance like when she warned him about Wormtail and Voldemort. "A person from the past is returning to pay back his debt. Where three were standing only two will remain. And in darkness you will stay." Ron rolled his eyes and turned to leave. Harry was waiting, wanting to know if there was more to come, but with that professor Trelawney snapped back to her usual self and didn't remember anything. Harry was worried, another strange prediction, and the worst part is that he wasn't sure is the professor was looking at him when she was telling her tale...or at Ron.
