NEW FIC! NEW FIC! Now I just, couldn't help making this as I've been on a Fairy Tail rewatch lately, and to my horror I could find barley any good crossovers with it! There are a few sure (And some of them Fate crossovers which I fully and happily approve of), so as the great fanfictions writers before me have said "If it doesn't exist, I'll make it myself!".
I will say this before we start, I don't plan to have the MC involved in every arc and some existing arcs may be changed or even completely rewritten.
"Ugh, why is it so bright…?". I grumbled, waking up slowly. My room was way too bright, and my bed felt off, was I on top of a blanket or something? I slowly forced my eyes opened, and had to blink a few times.
"What. The. HELL!?". I screamed, and you would too if you went to bed in your safe house and woke up outside in a world that looks like it belongs in some anime! Forcing myself up quickly I started looking around, was I dreaming? That's the only explanation I could think of right now, but it doesn't feel like a dream.
Looking around I tried to find anything odd or significant, but I seemed to be in an area with a few trees and large patches of flowers, no civilization in sight. While doing this I also noticed something else, my appearance.
It was both eerily familiar but different, not enough to make me uncomfortable in my own body but defiantly freaky. My hair was still black and went below my shoulders, my eyes were still green but a far more intense lime green, my face was very feminine looking which got on my nerves sometimes. My skin was a healthy white, I still even had a scar on my left hand from a knife incident I had when I was younger.
In the words of one of my friends, I was a very pretty looking male. I've even heard some people jokingly call me a femboy. I was fine being told I looked like a girl, but it could lead to some very embarrassing conversations.
My clothing was the biggest change, a grey tank top covered by a black cloak that went to my knees, the edges a golden colour. My legs were covered in black jeans leading to my feet in brown boots. Dare I say it, but I personally think I look kind of cool.
Another thing to note, was an actual note in one of the cloak's pockets. Yes yes laugh it up, but it at least explained what was going on.
"Hey, so you're wondering what's going on huh? Well I'm going to explain it in simple terms even a human could understand.
You may call me 'The Gentleman', and I am what you humans call a 'Random Omnipotent Being', or a ROB. You've probably already realized what this means, yes you're in a fictional world! But I wouldn't be a gentleman if I didn't explain what world you're in and what I've given you to survive.
Yes that's right! I've given you powers, or in just simple terms, you're a wizard now. It's even inspired by something your very familiar with you.
Heroic Take Over Magic! Based upon your beloved Fate Series. Heroic Take Over or just HTO for short, you can essentially do some stuff similar to the Class Cards. Gaining the powers of a Heroic Spirit in a weakened form, you can even fully transform into said spirit. Although your features such as hair colour, age, and other things may change when using certain class cards
But no, it doesn't end there! You also have the ability to summon Heroic Spirits, although I don't suggest doing this to often as it is quite draining. While not manifested, your Heroic Spirits will stay inside the "Flipside", a small dimension of my own creation. Think of it as your own Celestial Spirit World.
As for how you acquire more Heroic Spirits or who you already have? You have the basic set of a Saber, Lancer, Archer, Caster, Rider, Assassin and Berserker. But as for who they are? Well you'll have to use your magic to find out.
Ah, one last thing. If you really want to return to your old life that much, simply survive up till the Tenrou time skip. If you last that long, I'll return you to the exact moment you were taken, you'll wake up with no memories of what happened at all.
Of course there's been some, minor alterations to the world you're in, which if you haven't figure out by now is the Fairy Tail world. As for what those alterations are… find out by surviving!

Blinking as I finished reading aloud the paper, I was confused for a few seconds before the paper glowed, transforming into light that entered my body AND OH GOD THE PAIN!
"ARGGGHHHH!". I screamed in agony, my body wasn't in pain, this was all mental. The next few minutes I couldn't really tell you what happened besides utter agony in my head.
Eventually however it faded and after a few minutes, I managed to get back up, apparently I had fallen to the ground… and banged my head against a tree, ow! Okay I, know magic now and have access to some Servant's abilities in a weakened form.
The list was a strange one but deadly, Arthur Pendragon was most defiantly a power house and quite loyal. Next was Nagao Kagetora, someone I wasn't super familiar with but she was quiet powerful. Archer was a real beast, Oda Nobunaga, she may be used for jokes a lot in Fate but there's no denying she was a monster.
Cu Chulainn as Caster, which I will admit I was first disappointed, till I remembered this guy can use Runes. Rider was Sima Yi, my only Pseudo-Servant, so not exactly sure how she'd work. Jekyl and Hyde, split personality so… wooohooo? And finally Berserker was Kriemhild, don't know much about her but she has Balmung so I have an anti-dragon weapon at least.
I'm not sure how to gain other Heroic Spirits, so I guess I'll just have to hope it's just some anime power thing I'll get. I had a rather powerful list so I'm glad, but my Rider… didn't have a ride. I think she had her mercury golem transform into a horse, but I had something better, it also gave me a chance to test my magic.
"Heroic Spirit: Nagao Kagetora!". I shouted, feeling my clothes change in a soft glow. I know my clothes changed to the Heroic Spirit I had invoked, but I was unaware my hair had gained some white streaks and my left eye had changed to perfectly resemble Nagao's own green. "Come Forth in the name of Bishamonten! Houshoutsukige!". With that cry, the horse of Nagao Kagetora manifested in front of me.
The large horse was majestic, truly a beast worthy of a Heroic Spirit. I approached slowly, the knowledge of how to ride and tame this horse in my head. I got on Houshoutsukige and we began our travel. She was fast, far faster than I expected but I managed to quickly adapt thanks to my new Riding Skill.
After just a few minutes of riding, we arrived on a path, a way to civilization. Riding down the path I let my thoughts wander. I know enough of how ROB's work to assume The Gentleman wanted entertainment, so I can't just hide out somewhere till the events of Tenrou happened, and of course there's the 'Alterations' its letter spoke of.
I needed a few things to survive. Money, or rather jewels, a place to stay, and information. If I joined Fairy Tail I'd have all those things, but I'd get attached as well, I get attached way too easily. The Magic Council was an option, but they had a lot of dangerous things happen to them and there was lots of corruption inside it. There were other guilds of course, but I at least know most of the story if I join Fairy Tail.
First, let's find a town and ask about the recent news. It may give me an idea of where I am in the timeline, it's defiantly before Tenrou but what time specifically?
Human eyes would have missed it, but right now I didn't have human eyes. Summoning one of Nagao's swords, I sliced the arrow that was about to hit me in half, both sides falling besides Houshoutsukige.
"Such a cowardly tactic, but what else to expect from bandits". I said aloud, of course I'd run into bandits on my first day here. Their stealth advantage gone, they started coming out of their hiding spots behind and on top of trees.
"Well well! What's a pretty lady like you doing out here? Don't you know how dangerous it is here girlie?". One of the largest bandits asked, he had a large sword in hand and 2 scars going across his cheek. So I'll call him Scar.
And of course he assumed I'm a girl, but I really can't be bothered to correct him. After all he just gave me a bunch of test dummies for my abilities. I considered fighting on Houshoutsukige but it's probably safer not to, Nagao is a Lancer, not a Rider. So I got off my horse quickly.
"Well actually no, I'm new here you see. So what makes this area so dangerous?". I replied, but the men started tensing when I took a practice swing with my sword.
"Bandits of course, heard there's a mighty cruel crew of em around here. Of course we can… assist you for the right price". Scar said with a smirk, so that's the direction you want to take huh?
"I assure you, I can deal with a few bandits". I smirked right back, making a show of making my sword disappear into magical particles and replaced by my spear.
"Oh look alive boys! Seems we've got a wizard here, why don't we teach her a lesson in numbers?". Scar laughed, his men looked nervous but their leader's confidence clearly made them feel they could take me.
"Very well then, don't say I didn't give you a chance". I said, and with that our battle began.
The archer's tried first, while I remembered one of my skills would protect me unless they were absolutely sure I'd be hit, I'd rather not risk it. With rapid movement and spear jabs, every arrow was hit out of the sky before they could touch me.
The melee fighters tried next, rushing at me. I blocked a mace with my spear while using my free arm shatter a hammer with a palm strike. Pulling back my spear I rammed the flat side of my spear into another, jumping to avoid sword slash and twirling my spear, slamming the bottom into many bandits' heads.
Landing on the ground, I was surrounded by knocked out bandits. However it seemed there was still plenty left, good. The archers tried again, but this time I was confident in my skill, and I was right to as every arrow missed even as I slowly walked towards them. Once I got close enough…
"Boo". I said with a smile, and the bandits started running screaming. A few brave ones stayed, including Scar, let's see if the leader was any better. Charging at him, he tried swinging his sword in defence, but it was laughable really. I deflected his blow with my spear and then slammed my fist into his face, sending his into a tree and falling down, he was THAT weak?
Turning to look around at the remaining bandits, I just smiled happily at them. And cue them running while screaming! Victory to Echigo's God of War! Now to the victor, the spoils. What? Their bandits, I'm just taking stuff that was already stolen!
Remounting Houshoutsukige with my new bag filled with trinkets I had taken off the bandits and the jewels hidden inside my cloak, I rode off again down the path. Eventually arriving at wherever the path had lead me, and it seemed luck was really on my side, that or The gentleman left me near here on purpose.
I deactivated my Take Over after getting off Houshoutsukige, my outfit and appearance back to normal. Ready, I now entered Magnolia, the home of Fairy Tail.
With an excited grin, I walked about attempting to find some shop I could sell these trinkets away. I found a shop willing to a buy the things I had found, selling away most of the stuff for a neat pile of jewels.
I considered what to do, but I know what I wanted. I'm not the greatest planner and I wanted to listen to my gut instinct here, so I will!
Running towards a certain building, the door was currently closed, let's fix that. I already know my body is more durable here, and I was very glad I went to the gym at least 2 every week, otherwise I wouldn't be able to do this.
With as much force as I could muster, I kicked the doors open. Silence spread through the guild hall and I said my first question to Fairy Tail.
"Hey, this is the strongest guild in Fiore right?". I said loudly, and I could already see a few people glaring at me for my rude entrance. Looking about I didn't even see Lucy or anyone else who'd come in later seasons, so I'm early or just missing stuff.
"Yea, what's it to ya!". Shouted the pink haired protagonist himself, Natsu Dragneel. He walked towards me aggressively, well that made this easier.
"Good, now fight me". My words caused gasps to echo around the guild hall. "Wait uhm! I mean this guy, Natsu the Salamander right? I'm not interested in declaring war on an entire guild, I'm just looking for a sparring match". My explanation caused everyone to calm down and start talking between themselves, Natsu however smirked eagerly and fire formed around his fists.
"If it's a fight you're looking for, I'll happily kick your ass!". Natsu replied, looking ready to charge me here and there. Another Fairy Tail wizard had some words first.
"Idiot! Ask her name first before you start swinging fists". Gray Fullbuster said, causing Natsu to turn around and growl at him.
"What was that ice stripper!".
"You heard me pyro!".
"You wanna go!?".
"Let's go!".
"EHEM! Excuse me, we were going to fight, Salamander… oh, and I'm a guy by the way". My words caused many to fall over anime style and Natsu turned to me with a shocked expression, before morphing it into a grin.
"Eh! Guy, girl, whatever! If you want to fight, I'm your opponent!". Natsu declared before charging at me with a thankfully flameless fist. I've been in a few street fights in my life, so even without a Take Over I had some fighting experience.
I ducked under his blow and landed a fist to his face, however from his expression and the ache in my hand he was barley effected. Dragon Slayers really are durable! Taking a few back steps, I decided it was time to take this up a notch.
"Heroic Spirit: Arthur Pendragon!". In a flash I was in the armour of Arthur, my hair now having some blond streaks, becoming shorter as well and my left eye had turned a different shade of green. I resisted the urge to summon Excalibur, I wanted this fist fight to last a little longer.
The wizards of Fairy Tail were paying more attention now that I had shown my magic, Mirajane was the first to say anything.
"Is that a form of Take Over? But I've never seen anything like it". Her words caused some more questions to be sprung about, so I decided to explain my magic a little.
"Yes and no, Heroic Spirit magic is kind of a mix of Celestial Spirit magic and Take Over. I can summon the spirits or attain the powers of a legendary hero, at least that's the short term for it. It's a Lost Magic, so you've probably never heard of it". I explained, throwing in that bit of it being a Lost Magic to make it more mysterious.
"Who cares how it works! Let's get back to the fight". Natsu shouted and ran forward. "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!". With that shout Natsu's fists were covered in flames and he sent a punch towards me. I countered with my own punch, the collision of our fist causing a shockwave that pushed us both back.
Natsu had a frown on his face after that punch, and went for another. I crossed my arms over my chest to block the blow to the best of my abilities, being pushed back a few meters.
"What the hell's up with your scent? You smelled normal earlier but now… you smell like a dragon". Natsu demanded, his eyes going split like a reptile. Ah, I forgot that part about Arthur, maybe should've gone with Nagao again.
"Ah, well that's a thing from Arthur. He was known as a powerful and righteous king, who was the incarnation of a red dragon. Because of this he has a few dragon traits, although I'm afraid I can't use Dragon Slayer magic". My explained caused Natsu to gain a confused expression and scratch his head.
"This guy's a dragon? He doesn't even have scales! Or wings, or anything a dragon should have!". Natsu replied, did he not know what incarnation means… actually yea, he wouldn't would he?
"Incarnation! He's not actually a dragon, he just has some dragon traits". I told him, although his expression remained confused. You know what, let's just get back to the fight! And this time, I'll get more serious.
I summoned Excalibur inside its wind sheath, causing a visible wind aura around it. I'm not sure if its instincts or if he could feel the magic inside my sword, but his expression suddenly became a lot more serious.
"Fire, Dragon's, ROAAAAR!". Natsu said with well… a roar, sending a blazing inferno towards me. I countered this blow by slashing Excalibur into it, dispelling the attack in a show of sparks. I then rushed at Natsu and slashed at him, but he blocked with arms covered in flames. "Heh! Your fancy invisible sword isn't so impressive!". With another roar, I experienced the unpleasant burning sensation of a flamethrower to the face.
It burned for sure, but my magic resistance even if it wasn't powerful enough to completely negate the spell at least lessened the burn. It still caused me to stumble back with a few pained grunts, which left me vulnerable to a punch from Natsu. God this guy was strong, or maybe I'm just not used to fighting.
Okay Arthur wasn't working, he was strong but I just don't resonate well with his fighting style. I was a brawler, not a weapon fighter… FUCK HOW COULD I FORGOT! Natsu is literally a Dragon Slayer, and Arthur was essentially a dragon in human form! I quickly deactivated the Take Over, I needed something else.
"You really are something else Salamander, guess those stories are true after all!", I complimented him, sure I was an idiot who fought a dragon slayer with a dragon attributed Servant, but Natsu was a good fighter ether way.
"Not too shabby yourself! Got another Take Over in ya?". Natsu asked with a grin. Did I? Jekyll was too risky, same with Sima Yi. So I had Kriemheld, Cu, Nobunaga, and Nagao. Natsu was probably used to fighting many weapons, so Nagao was out. Kriemheld had a dragon slayer weapon and I didn't want to risk hurting Natsu to much. So that left Cu and Nobu, I'm fairly certain Nobu needed large amounts of magic, so that left…
"Heroic Spirit: Cu Chulainn!". I shouted, my outfit becoming that of the Caster Cu and my left eye turning red, My hair gained blue streaks as well. I could feel the bloodless I was letting out, so I felt compelled to give a warning. "I'm warning you now, this guy has some serious bloodlust. So I may hurt you a bit!".
"Bring it!". Natsu shouted and rushed forward with another flaming fist, I quickly cast an Ansuz rune. Instead of sending a wave of fire at Natsu, it sent a burst of lightning at him. He ducked under it and leapt at me with a flaming kick and a shout of "Fire Dragon's Claw!". I summoned Cu's staff and slammed it into Natsu's kick, while using my free hand to fire another lighting Ansuz at Natsu, who stiffened from the shock.
I sent an upside down Uruz towards Natsu, Uruz was a symbol of strength so an upside down Uruz was a symbol of weakness. Next I used Kenaz to send a beam of light at him, which was countered by a fiery fist.
Runes are powerful, but how their used depends entirely on what the user envisions. So if I imagine Kenaz which banishes darkness as a beam of light, I can make a beam of light. Honestly Runes are just busted if you ask me.
I'm sure the both of us could've just continued fighting for ages, or at least till I ran out if magic, which I admit I was starting to run out of. It was ended for us.
"ENOUGH!". The loud voice shook the room and caused both myself and Natsu to freeze, the source of the voice was a short man, but as a Caster like Cu? I could FEEL the sheer magic he produced just by living, so this was the might of a Wizard Saint? What a monster you are Makarov.
"You've both damaged the guild enough! This fight is over!". Makarov's words caused me to look around and widen my eyes, the room was wrecked! Holes in the walls, small fires everywhere, and rubble all around! D-did we really cause that much damage. I deactivated my Take Over and returned to my normal form with a sheepish smile.
"A-ah, sorry! I guess we got to into that fight! I'll figure out a way to pay you back, promise!". While my words were polite and calm, Natsu was the exact opposite.
"Oh come on Gramps! The fight was just starting to get good! Who cares if we wreck the guild a little?!". Natsu was eager to get the fight back on, however considering he was sent into a wall by Makarov's fist, I guess the master of Fairy Tail was pissed, and he's turning to me!
"Now young man, thank you for offering to pay back, but from your words I can assume you don't have many jewels at the moment?". Makarov's question caused me to turn away in embarrassment. Although I had gotten a decent amount of jewels now, I doubt it was enough to pay for all this damage.
"No but! I can pay you back in another way? Help around here for a bit? A favour? I am considering joining a guild but I haven't fully decided on that". I replied, while a part of me did want to join Fairy Tail, I wanted to consider my full options first.
"Huh? Why would you not want to join a guild?". Natsu asked, seems he's back from being punched by Makarov, but I can explain.
"I'm… not exactly sure what I want to do in life, I enjoy a good fight so I that's why I came here. But I'm just wandering right now, a guild just feels to constrictive right now. Maybe in the future, but not right now". I explained, my reasoning was more than that but that's all I was saying.
"I see, how about this? One day in the future you can pay us back, but for now how about instead we just share a drink?!". Makarov laughed, dear god he was… bright, not in a visible sense, but he displayed a sense of joy. Everyone in this guild was doing it.
"Thank you for the offer, but I'll have to be on my way now. Goodbye". I said, I didn't want to spend to long here, or I'd get trapped in their joy and end up joining for sure.
Really I should've realized straight away, that I couldn't stay away from Fairy Tail. But in the end? I think it ended up pretty well in the end.
What do you think? This fic is going to be pretty easy to update considering I have ACTUAL EPISODES I CAN USE! YES! You have no idea how excited I am for having a story where half the stuff is already made for me!
Now I'm going to quickly explain how Sam gets more Heroic Spirits before the chapter ends. Sam can gain more Heroic Spirits by resonating with them, whether through desire or some item.
So for example, going to Edolas may give him some less magical Heroic Spirits. Fighting a god slayer may give him a divine Servant.
If you want to suggest a Heroic Spirit to appear, you need to suggest where they appear and why.
