Chapter 6: Vault 111

A hour after defeating the robot, the gang finally found the security room of the Galleria."
Nate looked around and he found a large keyhole that said LOCKDOWN abov it and he replied, "Here goes nothing."
He slid the key into the and turned around and then a small red button appeared below it and he pushed it and he looked around and replied, "What did happen?"
"ATTENTION ALL INSIDE OF THE GALLERIA!", a loud voice said from the ceiling around the Galleria. "THE GALLERIA LOCKDOWN IS NOW FINISHED! YOU CAN NOW EXPLORE ANYWHERE AND ACCESS TO THE DETENTION AREA IS NOW GRANTED! ENJOY YOUR DAY!"
Nate quickly grabbed the key and then Mike replied, "That key must of did the trick. Let's head out."
They nodded and left the room.

Minutes after leaving the area, they arrived outside of the entrance to the Detention Area of the galleria.
Mike then replied, "Let's do this."
He opened the door and inside were a bunch of people. There was a tall black-skinned male wearing a old-fashioned soldiers outfit that looked like it was from years ago and the one talking with him was a black-haired guy wearing overalls and a blue shirt underneath and near the beds in the back of the room was a tail white-shirted man with messy black hair and eh was talking to a female with black hair and wearing a settler's ourfit and sitting in a nearby chair was a old woman wearing a blue hat and a blue robe as well and Nate took a step in and replied, "Hello?"
Everyone inside looked at Nate and the soldier looked at him and replied, "You're the Sole Survivor. Most raiders are fearing you and your deck right now, sir. I'm Preston Garvey and here with me is Marcy Long and her husband Jun and this a master repairman and great ally Struges and the one in the back is Mama Murphy, a former fortune teller now one searching for a better place to live."
The woman looked at him and replied, "What about that crazied robot?"
Mike then replied, "Done and out. The one that did him challenged Nate to a duel and Nate wiped him out . After a while, it shut down and the raider responsible for it left and gave us full control of this place. What happened with you guys anyway?"
Preston sighed and replied, "We were looking for a new area to live in. We just came from the Anoka city north of here after Raiders chased us out of there and we decided to come down here and look for supplies before those Raiders activated that robot."
Piper then replied, "We are from Mallvilla and if you want to all come with us there and leave here, do so."
Sturges looked at Preston and replied, "I think we should trust them, boss. We have no where else to go and be right now."
He nodded and he looked at the older woman and replied, "We should follow them. They'll lead out of his horrible place."
The soldier nodded and replied, "Let's get going then."

Back at Mallvilla, the gang was chatting with the Mayor and guard Trevor about what happened to them all. Preston and his group where there as well."
The mayor nodded and replied, "You people have been through a lot. I welcome you all to the city. Can I ask what you can all do for the town?"
Struges smiled and replied, "I love fixing things and making anything do with robots. I be a repair guy for your town, sir."
Trevor nodded and replied, "Sounds good to us. We been looking for more people that can help us with stuff like that."
The mayor looked at the couple and replied, "Marcy and Jun Long, what can you two do to help out if you can?"
Marcy sighed and replied, "We both can be cleaners and gardeners. We like to do both. Ever since our son was killed by raiders, we wanted to start a new life and help out any where and place we can think of."
He nodded and he was about to look at Mama Murphy and then he held his head and Trevor looked at him and replied, "You okay, mayor?"
"I'm fine, Trevor. The old one is a retired fortune teller and she can she stay around and not have to worry about doing anything."
Preston then replied, "I can help with training and help with the guards of this city, sir. I have many years of being a Minuteman leader and I'll do what I can to save someone that's in danger."
Trevor nodded and replied, "You'll be perfect with our group, Mr. Garvey."
The mayor nodded and he looked at Trevor and replied, "Why don't you find them each a hotel area to sleep in for now?"
He nodded and he looked at them and replied, "Follow me, please."
They all nodded as they got up and followed him out and they closed the door behind him and then he looked at Nate and replied, "You defeated the Director and opened that area for us? Well done, sir. You and the others are great to have around and even Piper as well."
She only sighed and then Mike replied, "He told us that a train that'll lead us from the basement of this city to the Galleria. That would help a lot."
The mayor sighed and replied, "I wish there was a to get in the door. The door has been sealed up for years and each mayor has tried their best to get inside and use, but no one has any luck. There is a system outside of the door that needs 4 keys with the letters m, a and two l's as well. If we get them all, we can open the tram area and head on there and back for supply runs."
Nate nodded as he took a key and gave it to him and replied, "This is the master key for the whole building."
He took it and slid the key into the drawer and closed up and 6 one hundred dollar mall bucks and handed them to the gang and replied, "Thanks for finding this key for us and for also saving those people from that raider and his machine. Well done."
They nodded as they grabbed the money and they all got up and left and the mayor sighed and replied, "What a day it has been."

That next morning, Nate was looking through a large book in the private lounge on the 1st floor of the mall. It was once hold to a amazing bookstore and it was now a library area and lounge. Dogmeat was back in the apartment and sleeping away while one of the guards watched over him and the room.
He sighed and replied, "I really need to head there and see if there is anything left. The cards I got this morning from that card shop will make my deck better then it's ever been."
The the doors opened up and the others walked in and they saw Nate and they walked over to him and Mike nodded and replied, "Morning, Sole Survivor."
Nate nodded and Piper noticed the book and replied, "What's that book?"
He showed them the book and opened it and they were pictures of him, his wife and son and they were at a park and he replied, "It's my family's picture book and it reminds me about how much I miss them all right now."
"I'm so sorry, Nate. I didn't know."
"It's okay, Piper. This book helps me remind me of my family and I miss them so much right now. After I eat and clean up, I'm heading back to Vault 111 to pick some things and see my deceased wife and I want to be on my own for this one."
Mike then replied, "I totally understand that, but we're a team and if anything happens to you and we're not around, we'll never see you again and Dogmeat will miss you a lot too, Nate. We can't let you do this on your own. Please let us come with you."
Piper nodded and replied, "Besides, two extra people might help out a lot as well, Nate."
He sighed and then he smiled and replied, "Sounds good to me. Meet me in this area after breakfast and then we'll head out."
They nodded as they both left quickly and he sighed and replied, "I really hope they know what they're getting themselves into. This might be really dangerous."

A hour later after leaving the area, they arrived in Bentonword Park, which was the location of Vault 111 of where Nate and his family were sent to. There was a small shed-like area nearby and a huge metal plate in the middle of the ground that said VAULT 111 in the middle of it.
Nate sighed and replied, "I haven't been here since I left to start my journey days ago."
Piper then replied, "This will lead to Vault 111, eh? What a place to be."
He nodded as he walked into the shed and he pushed the red button and then Nate replied, "We need to get to that platform quickly."
They all ran and all of them go on it in tame as it went into the ground and then the top closed back up again.

They got to the bottom of the area and they walked off it and were in the main area now.
Piper looked around and replied, "What a depressing area this is. I wonder how we even get in the vault."
He looked around and in the back corner of the room were three blooded, dead male raiders with bullets through out their body and Piper then replied, "That is not a good sign. We need to get out of here now!"
Suddenly, the way they came in locked up and Mike then replied, "Not good at all."
As they began to look around like crazy and they saw 3 large mini guns in the ceiling in front of the vault door and Piper then replied, "If those things go off, we're so fucked! We need to get out of here somehow!"
Suddenly, the main door glowed and then Piper then replied, "What's with the damn door?"
It slowly opened up and then they saw someone run out of it and she wore a tattered raider's outfit and it was a female with black hair and she replied, "Finally, after 2 damn years, I'm finally out of this horrid, fucking place!"
She saw the gang and replied, "Who the hell are you?"
Piper looked at her and replied, "We want and could ask you the same thing!"
"I'm Ruby Rose, a raider that was sent down here with a team of three other raider and we've been stuck here for 2 damn years now! Where is the team?"
The gang pointed to the blooded and dead bodies of the raiders in the corner and the raider sighed and replied, "My boyfriend Cal, Pete and Dennis are dead? Cal, I wish you stayed with me."
Nate sighed and replied, "I'm sorry for your loss, raider. What did you do?"
"They tried to get out and I stayed back because that damn elevator wouldn't even open up! They wanted to find a way out but this damn vault's security system killed them all! This is so damn horrible. I have no one down here."
Piper then replied, "Does anyone from that horrid group knew about you and your deceased friends down here?"
She sighed and replied, "Probably not. They abandoned us. That former jackass of a leader hated me, my friends and my boyfriend. I hope he gets messed up in the head."
Suddenly, a hologram appeared and it was a tall male with blonde hair and it wore a blue vault suit and the raider then replied, "No damn way! Not that thing!"
It began to speak, "Greetings, everyone. I'm Vault 111 Vault Boy and this vault's security and all of you are trespassing on Vault-Tec property. Either identify yourself or prepare yourself for a doomed demise."
Nate sighed and replied, "I'm Nate Gunderson, husband of Nora Gunderson-Layne and father of Shaun Gunderson. We had a spot in this vault."
"Welcome back, Nate Gunderson. There are 4 unknown people in your area. You are allowed in and if they enter inside, each one would be executed by the system."
The cannons began to glow start up and red spots appeared on the heads of Piper, Mike and the raider and the raider gulped then replied, "This can't be the end for me! I finally have hope of getting out of this place and then this happens!"
Ruby Rose sighed and replied, "I had some much to live for and I make the worst mistake of my damn life by joining those damn raiders and thanks to that, I lost the love of my life."
Nate looked at her and replied, "I lost my wife to a murder and my baby son was kidnapped as well. I know what you're getting out, miss."
"Thanks for understanding, sir and I'm sorry for your loss as well."
He nodded and then he stared at the hologram and replied, "I accept these people as family friends for myself, system."
The cannons began to whirl around and Piper sighed sadly and replied, "I can't believe this how it ends for us."
"Nate Gunderson, you must duel one of the intruders and if you are victorious, you and your friends are allowed in and if you lose, you all have 5 minutes to leave this area before the cannons will power up and fire."
The all breathed a sigh of relief as the guns powered down and the red lights went off and Nate looked at the raider and replied, "I don't want to duel either of my new friends, so I challenge you to a duel."
She nodded and replied, "If it'll help me get the hell out of this place, I accept your challenge."
She pushed a button on her Pip Boy and it unfolded into a duel disk and Nate did the same thing with his pip boy and she replied, "Let's get this duel over with already."
He nodded as they both drew 5 cards and the others watched from behind Nate.
"Duel time!", The former raider yelled out.

Nate then replied, "I'll start this duel out. I'll set a monster and that'll end my turn now."
Ruby Rose drew a card and replied, "I summon my Rose the Flower Dancer!"
As she sat the card down, A beautiful flower woman with a rose-like head appeared while wearing a dress made of flowers (ATK: 1,600).
"Wreck his facedown monster!"
She began to dance as a burst of rose petals shot out and a Doriado appeared on the card (DEF: 1,400) and the petal storm hit her and she burst into small white fragments.
"Your turn now."
Nate drew a card and replied, "I summon my Chow Sai the Ghost Destroyer."
As she sat the card down, his dark-robed monk appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"Destroy her monster with dark chant."
He began to chant as a burst of black shards shot out and stabbed into the Plant lady and she groaned and burst into rose petals (Ruby Rose LP: 7700) and she moaned and replied, "When she goes down, I can discard any Plant monster from my deck to the graveyard."
She took a card from her deck and placed it in her graveyard.
"Your move now."
Ruby Rose drew a card and replied, "I summon my Grass Phantom."
As she sat the card down, a sad patch of grass appeared (ATK: 1,000 - 1,500).
"I discarded another Grass Phantom with my flower dancer's effect. I return my Phantom to my hand to Special Summon my Fallen Angel of Roses!"
As she sat the card down, a dark plant-like creature with thorny arms appeared (ATK: 2,400).
"Lets do it. Attack his Ghost Destroyer!"
It swung its arm and a burst of thorns shot out and he groaned as they thorns struck him and then he shattered into triangles (Nate LP: 7700).
"Gotcha! I end my turn now."
Nate drew a card and replied, "I activate my Arcane Barrier."
The spell appeared.
"I'll set a monster and that'll end my turn now."
Ruby Rose drew a card and replied, "I start with Seed Cannon!"
The spell appeared.
"Next, I summon my Grass Phantom!"
As she sat the card down, the sad plant reappeared (ATK: 1,000 - 1,500).
"Lets do it. Rose, attack!"
She swung her arm another burst of thorns and a Apprentice Magician appeared on the card (DEF: 800) and the thorns struck and blasted the young spellcaster to little pieces and a spell counter flew into the barrier card (Spell Counters: 0 - 1) and then another facedown monster appeared and the sad plant shot its vine out and a 2nd of the young mages appeared (DEF: 800) before the blast of thorns blew her to pieces and a 2nd counter flew into his spell (Spell Counters: 1 - 2) and then plant seeds fired from the spell and struck him down (Nate LP: 7100) a then a new monster card appeared facedown.
"Each time my Plant army destroys any of your monsters, you take 300 damage! I end my turn now."
Nate drew a card and replied, "I flip my facedown monster."
As he did so, Old Vindictive Magician and Ruby Rose groaned and replied, "Damn it!"
He chanted as a bolt of dark energy shot out and hit, striking the evil plant angel and reducing her to dust.
"I tribute it for my Chaos Command Magician."
As the aged mage vanished into particles of light, the tall mage of light appeared (ATK: 2,400).
"Destroy his Phantom."
He aimed his sceprt as a burst of burning light shot out and burnt the plant to a crisp (Ruby Rose LP: 6900).
"Your move now."
Ruby Rose drew a card and replied, "I summon my Twilight Rose Knight!"
As she sat the card down, a rose-like knight appeared (ATK: 1,100).
"I use his effect to bring forth my Baobaboon!"
As he sat the card down, a strange Plant that looked like a tree with beast's face on it appeared (ATK: 1,200).
"Since I Special Summoned it, I draw a card and then I have to place a card at the top or bottom of my deck and I choose the top."
She slid a card on top and then resumed, "I now tune my monsters together!"
She glowed as she split into 3 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through the strange tree, which turned into 3 white stars (*3 + *3 = *6).
"A plant woman born from a evil garden destroys her enemies with her many thorns! She'll destroy anything in her way! Syncho Summon! Appear from the evil garden, Queen of Thorns!"
As she sat the card down, a evil plant woman covered in thorns and plants appeared (ATK: 2,200) and Piper groaned and replied, "That's a tough monster to get pass."
"I now activate my Blustering Winds! Destroy his monster!"
She began to smile evily (ATK: 2,200 - 3,200) as a burst of petals and thorns shot out and slammed into the Spellcaster and he groaned and exploded into globules of light (Nate LP: 6300) and then her spell glowed again (Nate LP: 6000) and then a 3rd counter flew into the spell (Spell Counters: 2 - 3).
"But the way, we'll both take 1000 damage if we both try to summon a non Plant monster. Your move, buddy."
Nate drew a card and replied, "I'll set a card and a monster facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Ruby Rose drew a card and replied, "You are going down! I'll summon my Bean Soldier!"
As he sat the card down, the bean warrior appeared (ATK: 1,400).
"Lets do it. Attack!"
It went in and a Magician's Valkyria appeared on the card (DEF: 1,800) it slashed with this sword and it did nothing (Ruby Rose LP: 6500) and she sighed as she pointed as a burst of thorns shot out and struck her and blasted her into shards and the Spell shot another seed out and slammed into him (Nate LP: 5700).
"You lucked out. I end my turn now."
Nate drew a card and replied, "I'll activate my Forbidden Droplets and I'll just discard a card to weaken your Synchro."
As he took a One-Shot Wand and discarded it, the queen groaned (ATK: 2,200 - 1,100).
"I now summon my Anarchist Monk Ranshin."
As he sat the card down, the aged monk appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Destroy her monster."
He aimed his scepter and a bolt of magic energy shot out and slammed into her and she moaned and exploded into a shower of flower petals (Ruby Rose LP: 5800) and Piper smiled and replied, "What a duel so far."
"Your move now, lady."
Ruby Rose drew a card and replied, "I'll switch my Bean Soldier to defense and then I"ll set a new monster facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Nate drew a card and replied, "I summon my Breaker the Magical Warrior."
As he sat the card down, the magic warrior appeared (ATK: 1,600 - 1,900).
"I'll remove his counter to destroy your Seed Cannon."
She swung his sword as a blade of magic energy shot out and cleaved the Seed Cannon card in half. The two pieces shattered to bits.
"I now play the Spell Card Spell Power Grasp and I'll give to Breaker to power him back up."
The spell appeared and another counter flew into the sword (ATK: 1,600 - 1,900).
"Lets do it. Breaker, attack."
He went and slashed at the plant warrior with his magic blade, blowing it to shards.
"Ranshim, attack."
He pointed as a magic bolt of energy shot out and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and the bolt blew it to pieces and they both drew 5 cards and he nodded and replied, "Your turn now, lady."
Ruby Rose drew a card and replied, "I summon my Lonefire Blossom."
As she sat the card down, the small dark plant with a large bulb appeared (ATK: 400).
"I tribute it to Special Summon my Talaya, Princess of Cherry Blossoms!"
As the plant vanished, the beautiful princess of the Cherry Blossoms appeared (ATK: 2,800 - 2,900).
"Destroy his Monk!"
She swung her blades and a storm of cherry blossoms shot out and they struck the monk and he groaned and then exploded into pixels (Nate LP: 4600) and then a fourth counter flew into the Spell (Spell Counters: 3 - 4) and then Nate replied, "Banish your Queen of Thorns."
She sighed and banished it and then replied, "Your move now."
Nate drew a card and replied, "I'll switch my Breaker to defense and the I'll set a new monster facedown and then I'll set a new card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
She drew a card and replied, "I summon my World Carrotweight Champion!"
As she sat the card, a strange-plant-like creature made of carrots appeared (ATK: 1,900) - (ATK: 2,900 - 3,000).
"Lets do it. Talaya, attack!"
She swung her fans and another storm of petals shot out and it slashed and stabbed into Breaker and then blasting him into triangles.
"Carrotweight, attack!"
It went in and a Magician of Faith appeared on the card (DEF: 400) and it slashed at her with its carrot hands, smashing her into small white shards and she took her card and added it to his hand.
"You'll never beat me, dude. I end my turn now."
Nate drew a card and replied, "I activate Silent Doom."
Doriado reappeared and knelt (DEF: 1,400).
"I now send my Spell and Spellcaster away to draw 4 cards."
They both vanished and he drew 4 cards and resumed, "I'll discard a card to summon The Tricky."
As he took a Night's End Sorcerer and discarded it, a strange Spellcaster with a question mark for a face and a blue cape appeared (ATK: 2,000).
"I now summon my Dogmatika Theo, the Iron Punch."
As he sat the card down, a spellcaster with a iron punch-like weapon appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"I'll activate Forbidden Droplet and I'll discard two cards."
As the spell appeared and she took two cards (Which were a Neo the Magical Swordsman and a Magical Undertaker) and discarded the cards, both Plant monsters began to glow (ATK: 3,000 - 1,400) - (ATK: 1,900 - 950).
"Time to fight. Iron Punch, attack."
It charged in and punched at the Princess and she groaned and exploded into triangles.
"Tricky, attack."
He began to glow as a ball of magic energy shot out and struck, smashing the Carrot creature into small orange shards (Ruby Rose LP: 4350).
"There you go. I end my turn now."
Ruby Rose drew a card and she smiled and replied, "Time for some fun. I'll set a card first."
The spell appeared.
"I'll discard a Plant monster to Special Summon it."
As he took a Jerry Beans Man and discarded it, the carrot creature appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"I now summon my Rose Girl."
As she sat the card down, a young rose girl appeared (ATK: 800).
"I tune my monsters together!"
She began to glow as she split into 3 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through the carrot creature, which turned into 4 white stars (*3 + *4 = *7).
"Chilling flames engulf the entire world. Pitch-dark flower, set into bloom! Synchro Summon! Appear now, Black Rose Dragon!"
As she sat the card down, a large plant-like dragon appeared (ATK: 2,400) and Mike groaned and replied, "What a dragon and a rare one."
"I use her effect to wipe the field!"
The dragon let out a mighty roar as it exploded in a shower of rose petal and Nate's Spellcasters exploded into triangles and then her facedown card shattered to pieces and then Ruby Rose smiled and replied, "Since my facedown Basal Rose Shoot was destroyed facedown by a card effect, I can Special Summon my Black Rose Dragon back to the field!"
As he sat the card down, the large dragon appeared with a mighty roar (ATK: 2,400).
"Time for my Dragon to attack. Attack him directly with your Black Rose Gale!"
the huge dragon let out a huge attack as a huge burst of energy and rose petals shot out and slammed into Nate (Nate LP: 2200).
"You'll never beat me! I end my turn now."
Nate drew a card and replied, "I'll set a monster and a card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Ruby Rose drew a card and replied, "Black Rose Dragon, attack!"
The dragon let out a huge burst of energy and it shot out and Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and the attack obliterated the jar and both discarded what was left of their hands and both drew 5 cards and then she replied, "You'll never beat me! I end my turn now."
Nate drew a card and replied, "I'll banish a Dark and a Light monster to Special Summon my Chaos Sorcerer."
As he took a Apprentice Magician and a Old Vindictive Magician and banished them both, the infamous chaos monster with a sinister smile (ATK: 2,300) and Piper smiled and replied, "They we go!"
"I'll banish your Dragon."
He smiled as a ball of dark energy shot out and slammed into the dragon and it roared before it completely vanished from the sight.
"I now summon my Gagaga Magician."
As she sat the card down, the Xyz summoner appeared (ATK: 1,500).
"I'll boost his level from 4 to 6."
Suddenly, two more stars appeared on his belt (Level: 4 - 6).
"I'll now tribute my Level 6 Spellcasters to summon my strongest deck monster."
As they both vanished into particles of light, a tall mage of pure darkness appeared (ATK: 3,200).
"Meet the mighty Sorcerer of Dark Magic."
Piper then replied, "What a monster."
"Next, I activate Monster Reborn."
The spell appeared and Dogmatika Theo, the Iron Punch reappeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Lets do this. Spellcasters, finish her off."
The first spellcaster went and slammed its arm into her and then the huge Spellcaster fired a huge burst of dark energy and it slammed into her (Ruby Rose LP: 0) and Mike nodded as the cannons powered down and Piper then replied, "What a ending to a great duel."
His monsters vanished and then Ruby Red sighed and replied, "You are great duelist. I have nothing now, can I just follow you all around?"
Nate nodded and replied, "As long as you don't do anything bad, we can help you with that later on."
She nodded as they both walked towards the now-opened Vault door.
