Chapter 30 – Anakin Solo
Ines put a cup in front of Leia, before she sat in front of her sister in law.
"What is this?" Leia asked, grabbing the cup and smelling it.
"It is one of the relaxing herb tea from aunt Beru's book," Ines explained to her. "Drink, it would calm you down."
"I am calm," Leia replied, gaining a look from Ines.
Sighing she took a sip from the steamy drink.
After a few minutes of silence, after looking at the kids that were in the patio sitting down on the floor, while the girls and Bail were telling what happened in the canyon to Ben, Leia looked back to her best friend and sister in law.
"You agree with Han, don't you?" she asked her.
Ines sighed. They knew each other since they were babies, so she knew that lying was not an option, and she didn't like that either.
"Lets be real here Leia, you do have the tendency to judge Anakin anytime he does something not good, comparing to Bail."
Leia gasped at that.
"You too?"
"Well you asked me and I'm being honest. And come on, even you know that."
Looking down at the cup in her hands, Leia knew they were right.
"But that doesn't mean I hate my son. I love him with all my heart."
"Nobody is question that Leia," Ines smiled and grabbed her friend's hands. "Look, we are friends since we were babies. I saw you as my sister, even before you became my sister in law for real. And as a mother, I know how much you love all of your kids. From Iris to the twins. But you need to relax a little bit. Anakin is a child. He is four years old. He will do a lot of things that will sound insane. But because he is a kid. It has nothing to do with his name or any dark side thing."
"That is easy for you to talk. Your kids are angels comparing to mine."
Ines had to laughed at that remark, which made Leia frown.
"What's so funny?" she asked.
"My kids? Angels? I think today you just saw that they are not those angels."
Leia looked at them and couldn't help to giggled.
"Well you're right on that."
"Trust me, your nephews, and especially your nieces are no angels. They do pretty stupid things and do tantrums too. If you saw the big tantrum that Alli did last week, you would be shocked. But Luke and I don't freak out, thinking that maybe it is a dark side thing. They are four, and they will do many stupid things typical of their age. We did too, remember? What we need to do is guide them in the right direction. It has nothing to do with the fact that they have the blood of their grandfather, or their name. Besides, Bail was the one who was mean to his twin brother, and I don't remember you being scared that was a sign he was getting dark. Did you?"
Leia looked at Ines. Her sister in law was right. She didn't think that of Bail, not even for one second. But in case of Anakin, she freaked out and even didn't believe her own son.
"What have I done? My son hates me now."
"No he doesn't. He is a smart kid, he will forget that. But you need to talk to him and show him how much you love him. Cause even if we know and you know that, sometimes our actions don't show that, and maybe we need to remind them how much they are important in our lives."
"You are talking like you had the same problem with the kids."
Ines glare at the kids and looked back at Leia.
"Well I didn't, but Luke had a similar problem with Padmé, when she asked him if he loved her sister more than her."
"What?" Leia asked surprised.
"Yup. So as you can see, we are not perfect too. We do mistakes, and those mistakes makes us learn. So maybe this all situation did happen for a reason," Ines told her with a smile. "You just need to talk to Anakin and relax a little bit."
"You are right. Thank you for be my best friend like forever," Leia said kissing her sister's in law hands.
"You're welcome. But now let me get the table ready for lunch."
"Sure," and the two women went to the kitchen of the farm.
Inside the Falcon
Little Ani was inside the Falcon, with Chewie, helping the Wookiee fixing a panel on the ship, and the little boy was giving the tools Chewie asked him, which made the little boy happy that he was helping Uncle Chewie.
After the panel being fix, and Chewie switch the buttons on, the panel light up, showing that it was working, the Wookiee growled happily, making Anakin clap his hands.
"We did it Uncle," he said to him, and hugged the Wookiee, who hugged him back tightly.
One thing that Chewie promised to himself, the moment he found out, years ago that Ines and Luke was expecting their first child, that he would protect those kids no matter what. Not only the Skywalkers but the Solos too. They were his nephews and nieces and he loved those kids, and the kids loved him back, which made Chewie happy.
That moment, Han entered inside the Falcon with Luke right behind. Sitting down, Han looked at his son.
"Hey kiddo, what are you doing?" he asked him, running his hand on his son's blond hair.
"I was helping uncle Chewie fixing the panel, and now it is working, right?" the four years old asked looking at the Wookiee, who growled nodding.
"Nice," Han smiled, and grabbing his son's arm, he spoke. "Come here buddy," and made Anakin sit on his left leg.
Giving a glare to his brother in law, who nod at him, Han looked back at his son.
"Sweetie, look at me," making Anakin, looked at his father with his deep blue eyes. "Even if sometimes mama maybe be act more strict towards you, she loves you very much. Don't think the other way around, okay?"
The four years old kept looking at his father.
"But she is always mad at me, more than Bail. She loves Bail more."
"That is not true buddy," Han told him.
"Your father is right. Your mother loves both of you the same way," Luke replied.
"But she always mad at me when I do something bad," Anakin pout looking at his uncle.
"That is because she is afraid to lose you for the dark side," Luke tried to explain to his four years old nephew.
"What do you mean?"
Looking at Han, Luke sighed.
"Sadly there are some people who do bad things, because they got seduce to the dark side of the force. And when that happens, they no longer be the good people they were."
"Like grandpa did?"
Han gasped and made Anakin looked at him.
"How do you know that?"
"You and mama talk that a lot sometimes," he explained. "Grandpa Anakin, did bad things, right Uncle Luke?"
"Yes he did sweetie, but he was wrong and now he is good again, right?"
Ani nod.
"I like grandpa. He is nice and good."
"Yes he is. So that is why your mama can be a little over reacted. It is not because she doesn't love you, it because she loves you very much." Han said to him. "Do you understand what papa and uncle Luke are telling you?"
The four years old kid, nod.
In that moment, Leia entered in the Falcon, making them look at her.
"Lunch is ready," she told him, approaching her husband and son, and crouching she open her arms and smiled with tears rolling down her eyes, when her son went towards her and hugged her, wrapping his arms around her neck.
"I'm so sorry sweetie," Leia said, facing her beautiful boy. "Mama was wrong to doubt you. I love you so much Anakin, so much."
"I know mama."
Hugging her son again, she kissed is cheeks over and over again.
"He is a good boy Leia. Actually he is strong in the force. What he did that canyon, at four years old, it says a lot." Luke told her.
"The kids told what he did," Leia replied picking her son in her arms.
"What he did, is not a dark thing," Luke smiled at his nephew. "You should be proud of him."
"I am. Very much," Leia said smiling at him and kissed his cheeks again.
"Am I still grounded?" the kid asked making the adults laughed.
"Yes you are mister. Not the two months, but you will be without your toys for a month, just like your brother. So that tactic didn't work, and no, looking at me with those beautiful blue eyes will not work either."
"Damn it," the little boy said.
"Come on, let's eat. I bet Uncle Chewie is super hungry," Han said, making Chewie growled, while the Anakin laughed at it, while they all left the Falcon, happy that this subject was solved.
Glad that Leia realized she was wrong and Han and Luke are right. Leia acts like that because she is afraid to lose her son. What do you guys think?
