A short green haired teenage boy with emerald eyes is shown walking on the street with his head held down and tears falling down his cheeks. This was Izuku Midoriya, our main character.
But…he couldn't help it. His dreams were squandered by none else than All Might himself.
It was useless…why did he even think he could be a hero in the first place…he was quirkless, of course he couldn't be a hero.
No matter how much he tried or wished to have a quirk…it's not like some miracle will happen and he'll get one.
This was his life. Doomed to never be a hero and be laughed at by everyone all his life.
Izuku…well Izuku found himself thinking back to when he was a kid…when he heard how quirks came to be in this world…when his dreams were still afloat.
People...are not born equal…
That's the hard truth I learned at age four. But that...was my first and last setback.
I forgot to mention this, but...this is the story of how I became a great hero.
It all began in Keikei City in China...with news that a bio-luminescent baby was born!
After that, "exceptional" individuals began popping up all over the world. The cause was unclear.
Time passed...and the "exceptional" became the norm. Fantasy...became reality! At present, 80% of the world's population consists of superhumans with special abilities.
The world is in chaos!
And a profession that everyone once only dreamed about…
entered the spotlight!
Superheroes!
Everyone could be one!
"...oh. Everyone could be one huh…guess…they lied didn't they…?" Izuku muttered to himself before thinking of how everyone told him down…never being on his side.
For some reason...I remembered what my mom said that day when I found out I was quirkless…"I'm sorry Izuku! I'm sorry!"
No mom...back then, what I wanted you to say was…"YOU CAN BE A HERO."
It's what I'd always wanted to hear, from anyone! But…unfortunately…the world is not a place for dreamers like me.
Even my idol All Might said I can't be a hero and I'd better be a cop or firefighter.
Why…Why couldn't you even bother to say I can be a hero…?
No…even if he said that…it wouldn't have changed anything. Whether he said that or not…All Might's message was clear.
No matter how hard I'll try…I won't be a hero and never will be.
While stuck in his depressing and slightly nihilistic thoughts, Izuku failed to notice the loud noise of an engine and a yellow Vespa motor scooter driving straight towards his direction.
"DIEEEEE, SONUVABITCH!!!!!" The sudden loud shout of the girl driving the Vespa was heard, causing Izuku finally break out of his train of thought and look towards the oncoming danger.
The teenager's eyes widened upon realizing that the girl pulled a guitar from who knows where…and prepared to hit him with it?!!
"...eh?"
