Moon made the trip to and from the Rainforest so many times that it was ingrained in her brain. She didn't even need to look where she was going as her wings carried her across the mountains and valleys. She led the way for Kinkajou and Fatespeaker who were very quiet, though their minds weren't. Images of a larger, scarier Starflight flashed in Fatespeaker's mind while the Rainwing kept having thoughts about Glory flashing red and gray. A memory that Moon remembered all too well.

She didn't like getting glimpses into her friends' minds without their knowledge but they made it really hard when their thoughts were so LOUD. She did her best to keep to herself which was difficult. Luckily the other two decided to keep quiet for the flight. Though it might have just been because of the day's events. They soared through the sky until a dragon as dark as the night sky flew towards them. Moon knew this dragon fairly well and felt her wings shake as he approached.

"Fatespeaker? What are you doing out here with Moon and Kinkajou? Not that I'm complaining." Deathbringer asked the other Nightwing with a smirk on his face that Moon wished would get slapped off.

Fatespeaker smiled at him and waved at Deathbringer. "We need to speak to Gl-Queen Glory immediately. It's super important!" She was trying to think of how to phrase it and Moon was reminded of how quickly the Nightwing's mind moved.

Moon glared at Deathbringer then loosened her gaze but was still keeping her slight anger. "So, are you happy to see us?" Kinkajou was really making what should be their shared annoyance difficult by her scale colors.

The bodyguard winced but kept his stupid smirk. "Oh, are you still mad about that?" He was trying to make it a joke but Moon didn't laugh. "Ok, look. I really DID do it for your safety. I can explain soon but first I need you to help us with something. That was actually why I was leaving." Moon straightened up and the other two nodded. They then flew after him into the Rainforest, ignoring the Nightwing village and heading straight for the Queen's hut.
Nothing was strange about the village at first. Rainwings were eating, sleeping or both. The trees rustled in the wing but luckily it wasn't raining so nothing foreboding seemed to be on the horizon. They walked past some leaf huts until they reached the largest, most green building on the edge of the village. There was a long path from the village center that led to it in case any dragons needed to ask the Queen some questions which luckily, not many Rainwings did. Kinkajou shuffled nervously in her spot and looked at the hut with worry. "A-aren't we going into the Queen's hut?" She asked.

The four dragons walked right past it. Deathbringer kept them moving and he turned to give the young Rainwing a sad look. "Sadly, I can't talk about it much here. Too many ears." They jumped past a small stream and Moon realized something. Normally the Nightwing's mind was guarded by a steel plate that resisted any attempt to break in (Not that Moon ever did) yet there seemed to be a gap in his protection that allowed her to see a single image of Rainwing venom being sprayed at him, just barely missing. They continued until finding a large cave structure in the rainforest. Deathbringer doubled back to see if anyone had followed. "Ok. Promise me you three won't scream?"

Before they could respond, a sharp roar echoed through the cave. "LET ME GO!" The voice was of the Queen. "RELEASE ME!" She howled.

Deathbringer gulped and ran in. This left the others to follow. Through the dark hallway, Moon entered a small frame that Deathbringer just ran through and inside was Glory baring her teeth but unable to hit anything. A massive Rainwing was holding her down but she wouldn't be able to do so for very long. The former Queen turned to Deathbringer. "Get the darts!"

"How did she wake up?!" The Nightwing asked in alarm but he was already leaping over to a mossy desk with a small enclosure that seemed like a closet. Inside he grabbed a single dart and ran over. Moon shivered uncomfortably as the Nightwing assassin pressed the dart against her scales. Once done, he tossed it aside and helped Grander pin her down.

Glory's eyes went dark and she tried to spray out more venom but her body struggled before collapsing into a deep sleep. The large Rainwing grimaced. "I don't know. I think she's actively fighting it now."

Kinkajou was shivering even worse than Moon was. Her scales were dark gray and her breathing was limp. "W-what was that?! Why are you two keeping her asleep?" She asked worriedly.

Deathbringer took a step towards Fatespeaker who was still looking at the now sleeping Queen. "A few months ago, Glory started talking to herself. It wasn't bad at first, but it got way more worrying. She started skipping on her Queen duties."

Grander nodded. "I eventually forced her to take Snowfall's request for a meeting. It did not go too well. I thought that a meeting with Thorn would go much better but somehow that made things even worse. I gave up at that point. If she was going to act like a dragonet, then fine." But her face told Moon that she was more worried then she was letting on.

Deathbringer sighed. "Yeah, then we saw her sneaking off when she should have been sleeping. I caught her at the beach and she yelled at me for it. When we eventually came back, she was muttering about Moon. She was also stalking Kinkajou for some reason. I figured you two weren't safe so I felt like I needed to send you two away until we figured out what she was doing."

Moon tried to smile at him but was still confused. "So…you weren't just kicking us out?"

"Of course not! Why would I kick out one of the few Nightwings Glory actually trusts?" He said then laughed nervously. "Ok, I could have been way nicer but Kinkajou would have tried to argue. Either way, we tried to keep the rainforest in good condition while Glory was out of it."

Moon shuffled uneasily. "So why did you need me? Or us? I mean, what you were saying before."

Grander bristled. "What we need is someone to try and see into Glory's thoughts. As you saw, she is not very open to discussion right now."

Fatespeaker seemed to follow along pretty well. "So when did you two bring her here?"

Deathbringer pointed a wing to Glory. "When she started lashing out a regular Rainwings and Nightwings we got her here. It's almost like she was TRYING to make herself look worse. When we snuck in a sleeping dart, we took her here where she's been ever since. She didn't seem to mind for some reason but when I came to give her some food, she attacked me. If it weren't for ancient bones over there I would have been dead."

"She was aiming for your scales, not your eyes. It would have hurt but you would have been fine." Grander added.

"So Glory tried to attack Deathbringer." Fatespeaker was the one that spoke first. "That sounds like what happened to me! And Riptide, Webs, Turtle and Anemone!" She explained the attacks which Grander and Deathbringer both took with shock.

The older Rainwing looked at Glory. "In that case, we need to do this more than ever. If the others escaped then she'll be our only chance at figuring out what happened to them."

Moon shook in her spot. "So you two want me to look into Glory's mind? Won't she like, really hate that?" The Rainwing was NOT easy to peek into. (Again, Moon never tried)

Deathbringer shrugged. "If she's asleep she won't notice. Besides, I'd rather we learn something and her be mad then us not learn anything and keep doing this stupid routine."

Moon felt a dark pulse emanating from her heart. Entering someone's head on accident always left her feeling bad but actually trying to look through and find something willingly? That was…dangerous. Very dangerous…Darkstalker had done that to her and others. The thought of her doing the same made her fear that she could possibly…like doing it. "No. You won't" She thought with certainty. "This isn't the same. Don't look for something like that, just look for something odd. Something out of place." She looked up at Deathbringer and nodded. "O-ok. Just give me some space…She knows how to keep someone like me out." They formed a semi-circle around Moon with the sleeping Queen opposite to her. Moon sat down and closed her eyes, steadying her breathing. She imagined the sleeping Glory in her mind and narrowed her mind's sight down until it reached Glory's head. She tried to enter but the mental blockade was still strong. She pounded on it over and over, trying to push through. Even a small gap would be enough. Finally, she was able to make a dent and with that, an opening.

Actually entering someone's mind was like swimming in a dark abyss with fireflies glowing every which way. Each light held a memory and the ones that shined the brightest were the ones that were easily remembered. The more hazy it was, the less reliable it was. Yet, Glory's mind held only three lights and two were vanishing fast. What should be nine years of living experiences was distilled to a newborn's memory. The two vanishing lights held two images that Moon could make out. The first was Her becoming Queen, winning the tournament and beating the former Rainwing Queens to become ruler of the rainforest. The second was her sitting with Clay, Tsunami, Starflight and Sunny overlooking Jade mountain. "Something's wrong." Why wasn't Deathbringer and Fatespeaker there? Didn't Glory say that the seven of them had been looking at it when Sunny called them?

The only truly glowing memory was not a normal bright yellow. It was a mossy green that was spreading out like tree roots. It looked like a base memory. One that other memories would start from but there was nothing connected to it. Moon slowly flew toward it and entered the memory.

The cave was dark with a single torch lighting the way. Clay, Tsunami, Glory, Starflight and Sunny sat huddled around the torch as it was the only light source they had. For years they had been alone, trapped in the cave. No guardians, no friends except each other, no escape. It was a large circular cave that they were trapped in with a never ending supply of food by the fish in the small water pool that led deeper into the cave yet they were too big to go through it.

The shadows around the cave grew larger as the torch slowly burned out. Soon the five would be trapped in complete darkness, unable to even see each other. That was when a fiery blast erupted behind Clay. he turned to protectively shield his friends with his wings but it was not necessary. The fire came from a friendly figure. She was a large, beautiful Skywing. Her head held a crown adorned with many jewels and minerals of all colors that could rival the sun's glow.
For the first time, Glory saw Sunlight and it bathed her scales like nothing else. The Queen tried to speak but no words came out. The dragonets seemed to hear her but no sound could be heard. The haze around the memory grew and shrouded the event just as the dragonets began following the Skywing out of the cave. Glory stopped and turned, looking around before baring her fangs and glaring at the intruder.
"LEAVE!"

"Moon!"
The Nightwing opened her eyes in a cold sweat. Her body was trembling alongside her eyes being filled with tears. Moon's head pounded. Her breathing was fast. She felt a Rainwing's arms holding her and she realized the voice that called out was Kinkajou.

Grander held out a star shaped fruit to Moon who took it quickly. "Eat it. It will settle your stomach." After Moon nibbled then devoured the yellow fruit, the Rainwing continued. "Was there something in there?"

Fatespeaker tried to say that Moon needed rest but the Nightwing disagreed. She recalled the memory and grimaced. "It wasn't right. None of it was. Her memories were gone except for her becoming Queen and the dragonets of destiny looking at Jade mountain. But then, she didn't seem to recall Fatespeaker or Deathbringer being there." Fatespeaker clenched up behind her. "But there was something else. Her only fully formed memory, it was wrong. There were no guardians, the cave was a single room and there were no exits. And then a Skywing freed them. It was as if the memory was still being formed. Almost like she's been forgetting everything except the other dragonets of destiny and becoming Queen and someone's been trying to plant new ones in their place."

Deathbringer and Fatespeaker looked at each other with a knowing frown. Moon was curious but kept to herself. She finally got out of Kinkajou's hold but gave her a friendly smile. Fatespeaker turned to the two and tried to look reassuring. "Ok, if that's all for today, I think you two should get some sleep. Moon's been flying all day, haven't you?"
The thought of sleep sounded amazing. She didn't even realize her wings were just as hurt as her head was. The three got up and Deathbringer waved them off but the punctured hole in his mind let Moon see one thing. "We'll talk later." and it was directed at Fatespeaker who seemed to know that she would be returning to the strange hiding place later.

The three made their way through the rainforest quietly as it was getting dark. Once they reached the sleeping spots, Fatespeaker watched as Moon curled up on a high perch and Kinkajou followed suit. "You two have been through a lot. I'll come and get you in the morning, ok?" And she was gone.

Moon felt the Rainwings tail twine with hers. "Hey Moon? Who was that Skywing you saw?"

The Nightwing shivered at the thought. "I'm not sure. But if I had to guess, it was someone important. Maybe a former Queen?" Who was the former Skywing Queen? Didn't Turtle and Glory talk about it with her? Didn't she SEE her in their minds?

Kinkajou let out soft snoring and Moon realized her friend wasn't listening anymore. Moon giggled to herself. "There are so many things about my life I would have changed. Kinkajou being my best friend will never be one of them." And she met sleep as well.

Moon awoke to find Kinkajou still snoring as the sun was rising. Being a Nightwing, she had gotten used to being awake during the night but that was still a new thing for the tribe. (Starflight was the only other Nightwing that shared this issue) She heard wing beats getting close and she figured it was Fatespeaker…except it was Grander. The old Rainwing might as well have seen a ghost judging by the look on her face.

Deathbringer and Fatespeaker were rubbing their heads, leaning on the edge of the hidden cave that no longer held the Rainwing Queen. Kinkajou was still rubbing her eyes awake as Grander yelled at the Nightwings that weren't Moon. "HOW could you LOSE her?! She was ASLEEP!"

Deathbringer winced. "You know, I would have guessed you two were related just based on what words you emphasize." He joked which Grander did not take well.

"So she just BEAT you two? Not to make fun of my tribe but we aren't exactly built for combat!" She growled and knocked over a bottle of sleeping darts.

Fatespeaker shrugged impishly. "I work in a library. What did you expect me to do?"

Grander gave up and turned to Moon and Kinkajou. "We figured you two should know about what is happening. If Glory really IS after one of you, then we need you two to be prepared in case she attacks."

Fatespeaker took a second to step towards them. "Starflight is way better at explaining but here's the quick part. We THINK the Skywing you saw was Scarlet. She was the former Queen of the Skywings until Glory sprayed venom on her. Everyone thought she was dead but Burn had taken her captive," "Scarlet! That was who she saw! But if it was, that doesn't make sense…" "She had taken a dream visitor and used it on Peril to free her. Once free, she tried to take back her throne but lost to her daughter, Ruby, in a royal duel. We THOUGHT she had died there but she's survived a death experience once."

Deathbringer rolled his eyes. "I still think she's totally dead. Either way, that still doesn't explain what happened to her memories. We think-know it has to be animus magic but everyone shouldn't be able to use it anymore. So that only leaves an animused object."

Moon needed some time to let this sink in. "Great. So Glory is gone and we have to deal with more magic?" Kinkajou seemed to share her thoughts.

Deathbringer let out a soft sigh. "Well, there is one more thing. We agreed that it wasn't safe for either of you to be alone with Glory active. Fatespeaker informed us of what happened at Jade academy."

Moon did not like where this was going.

Grander flicked her tail. "We advise you return to Jade mountain as soon as possible so you can stay safe. And to escort you…where are they?"

Fatespeaker shrugged and two voices could be heard entering the cave. One was soft like flowers and the other was a bit gruffer (Well as gruff as a Rainwing could get without being Glory) "I told you I could find it! Why don't you ever trust me with directions?"

"Oh I don't know. Maybe because last time you led us somewhere you got trapped in a dark smokey volcano?" A light wing could be heard hitting him gently and Mook could finally see them.

Kinkajou was the first to run up to them. "Mangrove! Orchid!" And she wrapped her wings around them and they returned it. "Are you two going with us? Yes! Moon, have you met them yet?"

She had not but she saw Mangrove usually around Glory. He was one of the few Rainwings to accept her BEFORE she became Queen and only became more loyal after she helped him save Orchid. Ever since Orchid returned he had become a lot more enjoyable to be around, at least according to other Rainwings, but he was still ready to fight for his Queen. She waved at them and Orchid bowed respectfully. "Yep! We've never made the trip before but Grander wanted two trustworthy Dragons and we definitely fit the role."

The old Rainwing snorted. "The bar was not set that high."

Fatespeaker smiled at Moon and gave her a reassuring wing on her shoulder. "When we finish setting up a makeshift government in the Rainforest, Deathbringer and I will head over. We also have to find a dragon to help us then we'll all see each other again soon. Ok?"

Moon felt glad that the Nightwing was so kind with her but getting a glimpse into her mind she realized why. "Is that what Starflight did to students? Am I being reassuring? What if I'm just saying nonsense? Ugh, now I need to find Peril too…at least I'll have Deathbringer. Wait, I just realized how little we actually hang out."

Moon returned Fatespeaker's smile. "Thank you, Fatespeaker. I can't wait to see you at the school." That seemed to make her happy.

Grander waved at the four dragons that would be leaving soon. "Good luck and stay safe. If Jade mountain has the dragon's Fatespeaker mentioned, then I am not too afraid of what will happen." "But still, I haven't felt this uneasy since that Darkstalker dragon showed up. Glory is a wonderful ally and a dangerous enemy. Please, be safe."

Flying with Kinkajou was always fun. Flying with two invisible dragons that wouldn't stop talking was slightly less fun. Though she should have been used to it with how much Qibli and Winter argued. "But they do it in a funny way. These two just talk about nonsense for hours." And they did. Somehow their conversation about toucans went on for about two of them. That meant when they finally reached Jade mountain, Moon felt even more happy than she usually was.
The trip was long and boring but no Rainwing Queen's came out to attack them and Orchid reassured them that she hadn't spotted an invisible fifth dragon as well. It seemed like her and KInkajou could have made the trip alone but the Rainwing was more than happy to hear the two older Rainwing's conversation to its extent. Even asking questions herself.

On the outside of the entrance to the academy was Riptide who seemed to be keeping watch. He looked to be checking for a blindfold and was relieved to see none and graciously welcomed them back. "Moon, Kinkajou! I didn't expect to see you back so early. How was the trip? Did you find anything important?" What he meant was "Did you find anything about Tsunami?"

Kinkajou nodded and the two other Rainwings showed themselves which led Riptide to jump back in shock. "Yep. A lot. Glory tried to attack Deathbringer as well! Then she escaped! Now we have no one to question but it gets even weirder! Somehow Glory's memories are vanishing! I think that's what you said, right Moon? Oh yeah and Scarlet! Something about Scarlet. And a cave? Was the cave important?"

Riptide blinked in confusion. Moon giggled and waved a talon. "I'll explain when we get inside. Is everyone still here?" Riptide nodded and led them in. It seemed everyone was either in the dining hall or cleaning up the library. She saw Qibli and Winter talking on one of the fixed tables and they both smiled as they saw her enter.

"Hey Moon, Kinkajou. Welcome back." The Sandwing said warmly.

Moon nodded and Riptide went out to gather everyone up. Webs and Umber entered from the library entrance while Anemone was with Turtle in her winglet room and the group formed up at the table. Moon explained what she saw and what had happened in the Rainforest. Riptide looked excited to hear that Fatespeaker and Deathbringer would be showing up soon though Webs looked sadly at the idea of Glory attacking someone like that.

Umber clenched up and let out a low sigh. "So is Clay really gone? Like, we don't know where he is?" That was when Moon remembered that Umber was one of Clay's siblings. "Maybe I could get Reed and the others so we can find him? He might listen to us." He said hopefully.

Winter gave umber a questioning look. "If he's losing his memories too, he may not even know you ARE his brother anymore."

Qibli nudged Winter in the ribs. "Hey, maybe don't say something like that?"

Winter's mouth was left open without him saying anything at first. "But it's true. If Glory forgot about Kinkajou, who's to say that Clay hasn't forgotten about Umber-Ow!"

Qibli elbowed Winter in the ribs and pointed to the Mudwing who was trembling and looking at the table with watery eyes. Winter seemed to notice what he was doing and uncomfortably rested a wing on his shoulder and bit his lip. The Mudwing gave him a nervous smile. "Y-you're right. He-Well shouldn't I tell the others then? They might not be safe."

Qibli gave the Mudwing a soft smile. "If your siblings are as tough as you, they'll be fine."

That seemed to cheer up Umber who looked rather odd smiling at Qibli. Before he could say anything however, Moon felt words that were not her own leave her body. Everything went dark and she started speaking.

"Secrets within eldest of the three moons eggs hiding alone,"

"A family broken lying in the oceans colorful caves,"

"A Queens fear and regret trapped on her tribes former home,"

"And in the dark caves his anger and jealousy raves."

"An Icy Queen awaits her fate by a lost hope's claws,"

"On ashy castle lies the broken dragon who seeks to rise."

"A cure needed to free them from her maws,"

"Or leave them trapped to bring about Pyrrhia's final demise."

And then Moon saw all black.
