Throughout his time at the Golden Dawn, Asta had been going through some troubling times, both physically and mentally. However, today he could put those feelings behind him because...

"Hey Asta, hurry up. It's our day off, remember? I don't wanna waste any time, so move it."

"Sorry, Yuno, ill be with you in just a sec. I'm just packing a few things."

*Sigh*

"Hurry up then."

Asta and Yuno booked a day off from their duties. However, it wasn't just any day. It was a special day for a particular person.

"Sister Lilly is gonna love this."

As it turns out, today was Sister Lilly's birthday, and the mages thought it would be a great idea to surprise her on their visit to harch village. It would come as no shock that Asta came up with this plan.

"Ok, I'm ready!" bursting out of his room.

"Shhhhh, quiet down, you idiot. Everyone still sleeping, remember."

"Ah right, sorry."

To avoid any issues, Asta and Yuno planned this day for roughly 2 weeks. They woke up at 6am sharp before anyone else and scheduled to make it to their destination around 8am. This might seem pretty early. However, the kids in the town would often wake up early, to help harvest the crops and do additional house chores. Some even attended classes at this time. Nevertheless, they could play with the kids before the main event.

"Alright, you got everything?"

Asta nodded his head.

"Ah, hah."

"Good. I also got some stuff for the kids. Can't just leave them out of this."

"Oh wow, really? That's very considerate of you."

"We also need to send this month's money for the village. You got that as well?"

"Right here!"

The swordsman opened up a small wallet loaded with cash.

"I don't think they'll need this much money."

"Nonsense, it's our responsibility to offer them all the support we can give."

"If you say."

Things looked as though everything was going to plan. The mages had everything packed and looked as though they were ready to set sail. What could possibly go wrong?

"Hey, what are you guys doing up so early."

Startled, Asta and Yuno turned their heads to the sounds of the voice. They were shocked.

"Oh, it's only you, Mimosa."

The flower mage had awakened from her slumber and approached the pair, half-sleep. She had dark circles under her eyes and was rocking that classic morning hair.

"You didn't answer my question. I could hear voices, so I decided to investigate."

"Oh, don't worry Mimosa it's only us. We're just setting out on our day off," replied Yuno, "We're off to visit Harge village. Apologies for disturbing you," pinching Asta's cheek.

"Ouch, he-hey Yuno."

"You can go back to sleep."

"Well, alright then. You two have fun."

It was at that moment the swordsman had a brilliant idea. "Hey, Mimosa? Wanna come with us?"

Wind user shook his head, "We're wasting a lot of time. I don't think that's a good..."

"OK READY!"

"...idea"

And just like that, Mimosa was all shipped and ready to go. Despite supporting a more casual look, she managed to fix that morning hair and was itching to get started on today's endeavours. Plus, it would be very unlike her to decline a request from Asta.

"Coincidentally, I also have a day off today. So ill be free to join you guys. So what's happening in the village?"

"I'll fill you in on all the details," Yuno replied, "Let's just go."

The three mages scattered as they burst out of the hideout. Mimosa and Yuno were on their brooms.

Asta, with his newfound powers, was surfing on his sword. Didn't take them long to arrive at their destination. They actually reached there before the scheduled.

"We're here."

They landed safely and a bunch of the kids had already noticed.

"Hey, is that?"

"No way, you're right it is?!"

Asta saw the glow on the children's faces, "HEY GUYS, LONG TIME NO SEE!"

A few of the children rushed to go see their former foster brother. They hurled themselves at the swordsman showing lots of love and affection.

"Asta you made it!"

"We missed you so much," they shouted.

During the commotion, Yuno felt his cape being tugged back a little. He turned his head over the right side of his shoulder and saw a little girl.

The girl was one of the children from the authofishich. Most notably, she was one of the girls; that had a strong and playful relationship with Yuno. She was deeply saddened when he left. Her name was Sally and was 7 yrs old.

"Ummm... Yu-Yuno ca-can you spin me around with your wind magic."

"Why of course."

The response sparked a cute smile on Sally's face. Before she knew it, she levitated into the air and started spinning joyfully on the spot.

"WHHHHEEEE, HAHA. Faster Yuno, spin me faster."

"If I spin you faster, you're gonna get sick again."

"No, I won't. I promise."

"Ok, just a little."

Despite picking up momentum, Yuno maintained a steady speed. He didn't wanna go overboard.

While Yuno and Asta were occupied that just left Mimosa. Due to her background, it was only logical that she felt slightly out of place. Being raised in such luxury to coming down to the slums it was natural she felt this way.

"Hmmm, Asta and Yuno look like they're having fun. Should I join them?"

The flower mage took one step forward...

"Ummm... excuse me."

Mimosa paused as she turned her head and noticed two young teen girls behind her. These girls were obviously from the Authfanich she thought.

Both had slightly slim builds, but one was taller with long black hair. Her name was Charlotte.

The other was Tiffiny, who had glasses and short brown hair.

Mimosa smiled, keen to make a first good impression.

"Hello, my name is Mimosa, it's lovely to meet you."

The two younger girls were hesitant but later smiled with enthusiasm.

"Hello! My name is Charlotte, and this is my best friend, Tiffiny."

"Hi there. It's nice to meet you."

"Haha, it's nice to meet you too."

So far so good.

"A-are you one of Asta's friends?" said Charlotte.

"I am. We're actually in the same squad. You're familiar with the Golden Dawn?"

The two girls nodded.

"Yes! We heard the Golden Dawn is the best squad in the whole of the clover kingdom. You must be powerful like Yuno and Asta," replied Tiffany.

Mimosa blushed "Oh I don't know about that. Those guys are on a whole nother level when it comes to combat. I'm one of the support mages."

"Even so, that's still amazing. You must have a lot of mana within you."

"Yeah, that's true... Royals tend to have more mana than the average spell caster."

The two girls gasped.

"Oh, that's right! Tiffany!"

"I'm on it, Charlotte."

Before Mimosa knew it, she was grabbed by the wrist and pulled into a nearby cottage. To her surprise, the bungalow was very spacious. It had sofas on both sides, a fireplace and an entrance heading towards the kitchen.

Tifanny pulled in a chair "Here Mimosa, this is our best chair."

The flower mage's face reddened "Oh no, please. You don't have to do all this for me."

"No, we insist," said Charlotte, "It's very muddy outside for a lady like you."

The two girls weren't gonna take no for an answer. They were adamant to give Mimosa the best hospitality fitted for Royalty.

"Royalty such as yourself only deserves the very best."

"Well, alright if you insist."

The two girls smiled in joy. It wasn't that often the girls would have such a prestigious guest in their room. But here they are now speaking to a Royal vermilion.

"I'm very thankful that you would accompany me like this, but believe me... I don't need any special treatment. We're all the same in our own special way."

Tiffany frowned, "Oh no, we're sorry! We didn't mean to offend you."

"No... I didn't mean it like that."

Mimosa gently rubbed Tifannys head, "You guys seem to know a lot about me. Why don't you tell me more about yourself."

"Well, we're authofins, and we stay in this cottage," replied Charlotte, "We also go to that school opposite that bungalow to learn and practice our magic."

"Oh, that's amazing! I didn't know there was a school here. And... sorry to hear about that."

Authors note: Referring to having no parents.

"That's ok we're used to it. Most of us have never even seen our parents. So it doesn't get to us too much."

"Tell me more! Can you show me what you learnt in school?"

To their amazement, Mimosa seemed very keen to find out more about the two girls.

"Oh I don't know, me and Charlotte are a little shy. It's nothing compared to what you have."

"Nonsense you'll be fine. Show me what you got."

The two girls looked at each other and then quickly faced the Mimosa.

"Ok, I guess we can show you one thing... Go ahead Tifanny you're up," bumping her on the elbow.

Tifanny pouted in annoyance "So I'm a water mage, and I can do this."

The girl with glasses pulled out both her hands and curled them together. Suddenly a miniature waterfall appeared in the palms of her hand. The waterfall then turned into a bird, then a cat, then a tree and then...

EXPLODE!

"I can manipulate water into different forms. I'm still practising, but hopefully, you get the gist."

Mimosa smiled and clapped with excitement "No, that was amazing, you have a lot of potential. Just keep working at it, and I know you'll make a fine sourcearus."

"YOU MEAN THAT! Thank you so much."

"I know so. Your turn Charlotte. You wanna show me yours?"

"Ok!"

Charlotte proceeded to showcase her talents. She clenched her fist and punched Tifanny on the arm.

"HEY! What was that for?!" Tifanny rolled up her sleeve, "See! Now you gave me a bruise."

"Oh, relax, dummy. What do you think I'm here for?"

Charlotte placed one of her palms above the bruise, and her hand emitted a green glow.

Mimosa was stunned. Could it be?

It took a few seconds, but the bruise eventually faded as if nothing had happened.

"My speciality is plant magic. I'm able to heal a few wounds and bruises. Still... that's probably nothing compared to what you can do."

"No! That was amazing! You did so well there."

Charlotte blushed, "Yo-You think so?"

"Yes! You girls have a very bright future ahead of you. I just know it."

The Royal vermilion projected a genuine smile sparking the two girls to also beam. They could tell Mimosa was generally happy for them. Considering they don't have much mana, they did pretty well.

"Could you show us your magic Mimosa?" asked Tiffany.

"Of course... PLANT MAGIC!"

Suddenly the two girls were surrounded by a huge flower bed consisting of pink roses and lilies. They laid flat on their back and started to make flower angles on the soft flower base.

"Wow! This is amazing! I can feel my mana regenerating, Tifanny."

"I can feel it to Charlotte."

"Are you two enjoying yourselves?" asked Mimosa.

"Yes!"

The two mages rolled and jumped around the flower bed for a few more minutes before Mimosa finally pulled the plug.

"Wow, that was soo cool! I wish I could do magic like that!" shouted Charlotte.

"Yeah, I wanna be strong like you as well Mimosa!"

"Oh my god, I'm so flattered. You guys are so sweet. But I'm nothing special."

Tiffany adjusted her glasses, "That's nonsense; you're amazing. You don't have to be humble around us."

"Oh, its not like that. There's just a lot I need to learn as all."

"Hey, Mimosa! Can I ask you something?"

"You can ask me anything, Charlotte."

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

Mimosa and Tiffany frowned in embarrassment.

*GASP*

"You can't ask a question like that, Charlotte! That's soo rude."

"Oh, come on, Tif. I'm sure she doesn't mind, right Mimosa?"

"Oh um..."

"You're royalty, and you're soo beautiful. You must get a ton of guys chasing you."

"Well... T-To tell you the truth, I don't get a lot of guys chasing me. I'm just focusing on my magic knight duties for now."

Mimosa was reluctant to reveal her personal life. She was hoping this conversation could take a drastic turn.

"Oh come, I'm sure you have your eyes on someone."

"I'm telling the truth. I'm not interested in anyone right now."

"Not even Asta?" said Tiffany.

The room went silent and not for the first time, the royal's face bloomed.

"A-Asta"

"Yeah! Have you tried giving Asta a shot? You guys will make such a cute couple."

"Re-really? You think so. I never thought about that."

Charlotte continued "Asta's amazing. He's a little loud. But he has an amazing personality and has the build most women want. When he was still in the village he would chop logs of wood shirtless, and I'm not gonna lie... a few of the village girls had the hots for him."

The thought of Asta shirtless whilst chopping logs of wood made Mimosa's mouth drool. Just reminiscing that strong and masculine image she knew she couldn't give him up just yet.

"Come on, Tiffany. You know as well as I do that Asta is a lost cause."

"Yeah, you're right Charlotte. I just thought maybe..."

The news about Asta being a lost cause made Mimosa wonder

"Um... What do you mean by that?"

"Oh, you don't know?" replied Charlotte, "Back when Asta was at the village, he had a huge crush on one of the Sisters of the church."

"H-He cant have a crush on sisters. They can't get married."

"Right! But that doesn't stop Asta. He never gives up on what he wants. He even asked her to marry her a bunch of times, and it always results in a rejection."

Mimosa was rattled, shaken. However, all that was masked by her calm demeanour and consoled look. She was careful not to show any emotions. Was this true? Does Asta still have feelings for this woman, and was that the reason why she got rejected in the place?

Even so, a seed of doubt was planted in her mind. She was mindful of the fact Asta had his eyes on another woman. Was it even worth pursewing him anymore?

"Hello... earth too, Mimosa"

*click*

*click*

"Sorry. I think I just dazed out."

"Yeah, you did. What were you thinking about?" asked Charlotte.

"Oh, it was nothing. This always happens to me."

"Right..."

Suddenly a few knocks were heard behind the door and out came a woman with a black robe and head scarf.

"Sister Lilly!" the two girls shouted.

They both galloped forward and embraced the sister with utmost love and affection.

"Happy birthday, Sister Lilly," said Tiffany.

"Yeah, happy Birthday", followed Charlotte.

"You guys are sweet. Thank you so much."

"Is the food ready yet?"

"Now, now. Be patient with me. We still have a few more hours until everything is ready."

The two girls pouted in frustration, sparking the sister of the church to giggle.

"Now, would you like to introduce me to your new friend?"

As always, Charlotte took the lead "Oh, this is Mimosa of the Golden Dawn. She's also royalty."

Sister Lilly looked in shock with her hand covering her mouth "Oh my goodness. Really? Apologies Mimosa. I do hope our girls didn't cause you any trouble."

"No, not at all. Actually, they were very welcoming and kind enough to bring me into their room. The pleasure is all mine."

"That's wonderful to hear. I do hope you enjoy your visit."

"I most definitely will. I came here with Asta and Yuno to wish you a birthday. Oh, that reminds me, happy birthday."

"How thoughtful of them. So they did remember," Lilly giggled.

"SISTER. I'M STARVING. When are we going to have the food ready."

"I told you, Charlotte. The feast will be ready in a few hours. Now go on outside and play. I won't tell you again."

The sister sternly glared at the two girls, eventually prompting them to head outside.

"Alright, fine... Let's go, Tiffany."

"Right behind you, Charlotte."

The two exited the room leaving just Mimosa and Lilly.

"You should go out as well Mimosa. Dinner won't be ready until a few hours."

"Oh ah... right. Sure." Mimosa trodded along before stopping at the door.

"Actually, I have a better idea."

Sister Lilly tilted her head "Hah, what is it?"

2 hrs later

"Haha, faster Yuno, faster."

"If I go any faster you'll get sick Sally. Besides, aren't you tired yet? We been playing for a couple hours."

"No I'm not tired, I can go for longer. Now go on! Spin me faster."

"What was in that juice she had earlier"

During the playful unrest, Yuno heard a loud raw in the corner of his ear.

"What was that?"

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHH, Ill get you two. Come back here!"

"Haha, try and catch us if you can."

"You're gonna pay for what you did!"

The piercing raw came from Asta who had found himself chasing two of the village's children. He had an angered look on his face and was strangely shirtless. What had he got himself into now, Yuno wondered.

"GET IT BACK HERE NOW!"

Without paying attention to his surroundings, Asta crashed into Yuno, causing them to both lose their balance.

That was also the end of Yuno's wind merry-go-round, to which Sally fell on her bottom.

"DAM IT, What do you think you're doing Asta!"

"Ah, sorry Yuno. Those rotten kids. They burnt my shirt as I had my back turned. They're gonna pay for that."

"Why are you such an easy target for everyone?"

"No im not!"

"Yes, you are."

"YUNO!"

The pair argued for a couple of minutes, but that was quickly defused by the sound of whimpering and sobering.

The wind user turned his head. "Sally are you ok?"

"Ye-yeah I think I am. But my elbow hurts."

Yuno rushed towards Sally before gently lifting her arm. Unfortunately enough it was just a small bruise, but it looked as though she was in a lot of pain.

"Don't worry Sally. We brought a healer along with us. She'll patch you up soon ok."

"O-ok Yuno."

"Asta!" stern look "Make yourself useful and go get Mimosa."

"R-right, Mimosa. So sorry again, Sally. Ummm... You know where she might be?"

Yuno's eyebrows raised "Hmmm, come to think of it. I haven't seen her all day."
