Pulling up his coffee mug Nick shrugged. "I got desperate." Tony scowled.
"Why don't you do us both a favor and leave me the hell alone, Fury." Hardened then his face as he set the mug down and stressed stonily:
"When you're putting the entire team in jeopardy, it's-"
"Wasn't it my boyfriend that saved all of our fucking asses during the full moon?!" back he hissed quietly. "Wasn't it he that saved Philips and the others, Steve when he was bleeding half to death in Kansas?! Wasn't it-"
"Steve knows?"
"No he doesn't and he won't. Literally first thing he'll do is tell Howard."
"Oh so you don't have amnesia. I'm glad you remember that Howard, the head hunter who hates superhumans more than anything, is your dad."
"Okay and pray tell, what would he-"
"No, I'm good with the gun that I have," Nick asudden louder said scooped up his cup again. Tony turns sees Susan stepping in stops at the candy cabinet. "I don't want an upgrade, for the last time," casually Nick continued. She smirked glanced over her shoulder.
"If you're itching so bad to give someone an upgrade Johnny can never have too many."
"Noted, Su. Do you agree to take full responsibility for any harm he might cause to others or himself with said upgrades?" She chuckled pulling down a pringles can ketchup flavored.
"Maybe something blunt," she moved.
"Right, because accidently bashing a teammate with a bat isn't at all likely." Shot him a faux-vexed look and left the kitchen.
"You, are unbelievably stupid," Nick when she was gone lowly probed and Tony sneered refaced him. "Both of you."
"Why exactly is it you haven't told a soul yet?" he irritable prompted.
"I'm waiting."
"For what?"
"For either of you idiots to give me a reason." Tony's frown and aggravation deepened. Nick shrugged again shifted. "Seems more likely you'd beat me to it and expose yourselves," he walked past him and at the indication Tony tensed further.
More likely indeed…despite how careful they've been or tried to be something this big can't be kept secret…
He'd best decide and quickly what he'd do and the answer's clear but he is reluctant, because then he'd look at Clint or Bruce or even Johnny, hell even Steve, and he'd hesitate.
