A few days later, Kevin Anderson had called with news about Nazz.

"It doesn't look good but it isn't bad either, Dee."

"What did you find?"

"She suffers from Schizophrenia. But she has two forms of it. It's interesting how she was diagnosed with both."

"What do you mean? She's a paranoid schizophrenic on top of being hebephrenic?"

Anderson sounded surprised. "Yes. It's truly an interesting case since one is rarer than the other."

"How so?" He pinched the bridge of his nose.

Dee could hear Anderson take off his glasses. "This is more your area, Dee. I'm not a doctor. Just a lawyer."

"Yes, Anderson, I am aware. But you were also in the same psychology classes as I was."

"This is true. Anyway. Paranoia just makes her suspicious and distrustful of others while suffering from hallucinations and delusions. Hebephrenic Schizophrenic is disorganized. She still has the hallucinations and delusions, but her behavior is more bizarre and inappropriate. With medication, this could be treated. But if she wasn't taking any or had stopped – "

"Then she could be easily manipulated into thinking that the way she was treating Kevin was okay and she wasn't doing anything wrong."

"Correct. But this also means, she won't see the inside of courtroom. Her lawyer will plead insanity. She'll go to a correctional facility or spend the rest of her days in an asylum."

"I see. What of his mother?"

Anderson sighed, heavily. Dee already knew the answer before he continued. "She is of sound mind and body. She is completely healthy. Her lawyer is insisting she undergo a psych eval to rule out all possibilities. As Kevin's lawyer, I agreed. But we already know what the outcome is going to be."

Dee didn't like the sound of that. He sighed heavily. "Alright. Alright. I'm sure you'll keep me apprised of the situation. In the meantime, I'm going to talk to Kevin about his mother and find out how his childhood was like growing up. I'm not sure how she got the girl to go along with her plans. If, and that's a big if, she knew about her condition, she could have manipulated her. But we won't know for sure until I find out something from Kevin or we find out in court. Either way, this is a disaster." Anderson only sighed on the other end of the call. He wasn't sure either, but he was going to find out why. After they said their goodbyes, Dee went in search of Kevin. He found him a few moments later on the back porch with a cup of coffee.

"I heard the conversation, Dee."

Double Dee looked up in surprise. He hadn't been aware that he was being loud. "No, you weren't being loud. I came to find you and you were on the phone with little me. Which is weird to say, by the way. I may have just stood there and listened. I probably shouldn't have. But..."

Double Dee sighed. "It is quite alright, Kevin. You had every right to. I was going to tell you eventually anyway. We're going to try everything we can to make sure Nazz is taken care of. But as for your mother, she may not be so lucky. She willingly and knowingly took advantage of a young woman with severe mental health issues. At this point, your mother will be lucky to see the outside of a prison wall."

Kevin sighed. He knew Double Dee was right. Did he want to see his mom go to jail? Of course not. But, did he want to see justice come out of this? Absolutely. That only left one thing to do. He looked up at the man he couldn't forget, no matter how hard he tried. And he made a choice.

"Let's make sure she can't do this again."

A/N: this is a pretty short chapter. Mainly because there was nothing else I could do with this. But I wanted to get something out for you guys. I may wrap this story up with Chapter 10. There really is nothing else I can do with this story now. The boys are headed in the direction I wanted them to. It was almost stressful to get this written. LOL.

For those of you who have held on for so long, thank you. I hate that I was away for so long. But, you know how life can be. Thank you, again, for sticking around for the boys. They really appreciate it.
