Sorry for the constant font changes, I think it's from the website I use for Conner's Calls but anyway this is my longest chapter yet so enjoy it -ActuallyAwkward
The Monday following Lewis' visit to the pizzeria he left school at lunchtime to go visit Fazbear's. He walked in and saw very few kids watching the animatronics perform. Lewis gave the robots a wave and Freddy waved back secretly. He then saw the poster again but he tried to not look at it. Then on his way to his boss' office, he saw another that said: The Toys Are Here! And underneath, four animatronics that looked like Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy but at the same had a different feel, they felt more plasticky and more modernistic. He knocked on his boss' door and said,
"Come in!" Lewis did so and said,
"Let's get straight to the point. What are those posters about?"
"Well," His boss began, "The current animatronics aren't as appealing to kids nowadays then they were when they were first made, these animatronics were made to appeal to kids nowadays they are meant to appear more toy-like."
"But the pizzeria makes enough money on its own surely there is no point in making entirely new animatronics?" Lewis asked generally sounding confused,
"Well they aren't completely brand new, they are a couple of years old but they used to perform at a sister location until the place shut down due to it not making enough money. So the animatronics have been in storage for a while and we decided it was time for a revamp and we asked the higher-ups if we could borrow the animatronics."
"Ok, but why the same characters, why not make new ones?" Lewis asked,
"Just because the main four are still very popular or at least they were at the time but these new animatronics have completely different personalities from the originals. Toy Freddy is more of a gamer to relate to the older kids, he can give the best tips for all your favourite games and he will be the star of our new arcade. Toy Bonnie is the rockstar of the group he is sort of like the Harry Styles of the new animatronics. Toy Chica is the party animal of the gang she also loves fashion and has her own beauty salon. I don't know if you have seen the other posters but we have two other animatronics, Baloon Boy who you know makes balloons at his balloon station and The Puppet, who is here to buff up security,"
"Okay, well that's a lot of information to take in, anyway I better be getting back to school, bye!" On his way out Lewis realised that his boss hadn't mentioned Toy Foxy but he decided he would check him out when he was working.
When Lewis got back to school, he told AJ about the new animatronics and AJ was just as surprised as he was,
"I don't know how I feel about my childhood heroes being replaced like this," He told Lewis as they walked to the bus after school,
"Me neither..." Lewis replied. Once he got home he got changed into his work clothes and then just jumped straight into bed to try and get some sleep before he had to go to the pizzeria.
At 11:45, Lewis's alarm went off and he got up and silently left the house as he didn't want to wake up his brother who had just returned from a school trip. He called AJ to see where he was and AJ said he was waiting for him outside. Lewis had to go out and get two new earpieces as the two he and AJ had been a pair that only went together and Freddy had destroyed Lewis'. He gave AJ his new earpiece and they tried them out as they walked down the road towards Fazbear's. Lewis had his new shoes and his bag full of weapons just in case the newbies were hostile. His shoes had already done him good at school when he played Football at lunch the increased speed helped him easily break away from defenders. Once they got to the office, the phone started ringing, which was strange because Lewis thought Conner died on night four, he picked up and to his surprise it was Conner's voice on the other end,
"Uh, hello? Hello, hello? Uh, hello and welcome to your new summer job at the new and improved Freddy Fazbear's Pizza."
"Uh well I've been here for a while but thanks anyway Conner," Lewis told the man, who as usual had no response,
"It is my official first day on the job though," AJ piped up,
"Uh, I'm here to talk you through some of the things you can expect to see during your first week here and to help you get started down this new and exciting career path. Uh, now, I want you to forget anything you may have heard about the old location, you know. Uh, some people still have a somewhat negative impression of the company. Uh... that old restaurant was kind of left to rot for quite a while, but I want to reassure you, Fazbear Entertainment is committed to family fun and above all, safety."
"I do remember my Dad talking about something that happened when the location he used to go to was around something about a Yellow Rabbit suit or something," After he said that the cameras on his computer strangely flickered purple for a couple of seconds,
"Huh, that's weird" AJ noted. Conner continued,
"They've spent a small fortune on these new animatronics, uh, facial recognition, advanced mobility, they even let them walk around during the day. Isn't that neat? -clears throat- But most importantly, they're all tied into some kind of criminal database, so they can detect a predator a mile away. Heck, we should be paying them to guard you." He joked,
"Uh, I don't think so!" AJ and Lewis said in unison, they looked at each other and laughed a wee bit,
"Uh, now that being said, no new system's without its... kinks. Uh... you're only the second guard to work at that location. Uh, the first guy finished his week but complained about... conditions. Uh, we switched him over to the day shift, so hey, lucky you, right? Uh, mainly he expressed concern that certain characters seemed to move around at night and even attempted to get into his office,
"Believe us, Conner, we know a lot about that," AJ murmured,
"Now, from what we know, that should be impossible. Uh, that restaurant should be the safest place on earth. So while our engineers don't have an explanation for this, the working theory is that... the robots were never given a proper "night mode". So when it gets quiet, they think they're in the wrong room, so then they go try to find where the people are, and in this case, that's your office. So our temporary solution is this: there's a music box over by the Prize Counter, and it's rigged to be wound up remotely. So just, every once in a while, switch over to the Prize Counter video feed and wind it up for a few seconds. It doesn't seem to affect all of the animatronics, but it does affect... one of them."
"One of them? I'm not even going to bother if it means only one less animatronic to defend myself from!" Lewis shouted outraged. Conner then cleared his throat,
"Uh, and as for the rest of them, we have an even easier solution. You see, there may be a minor glitch in the system, something about robots seeing you as an endoskeleton without his costume on, and wanting to stuff you in a suit, so hey, we've given you an empty Freddy Fazbear head, problem solved! You can put it on anytime, and leave it on for as long as you want. Eventually, anything that wandered in, will wander back out." Lewis and AJ searched the whole office for the Freddy Head but found absolutely nothing,
"Well we already know these tapes are outdated as, well Conner died but then how is he here?" Lewis pondered,
"Remember the Originals were shut down for a bit and only reopened shop a couple of years ago so maybe the other tapes were made after these for the people dealing with the Originals?" AJ said,
"That's a shout, to be honest," Lewis congratulated AJ,
"Uh, something else worth mentioning is kind of the quirky modern design of the building. You may have noticed there are no doors for you to close, heh. But hey, you have a light! And even though your flashlight can run out of power, the building cannot. So, don't worry about the place going dark. Well, I think that's it. Uh, you should be golden. Uh, check the lights, put on the Freddy head if you need to, uh, keep the music box wound up, piece of cake. Have a good night, and I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Well we already know these are from a different location so I guess this was for the guards at the other location," Lewis murmured,
"Right well we better go check if these new animatronics are friendly or not," AJ said decisively. Lewis left leaving AJ behind to keep an eye on the cameras, once he got out into the hallway he saw Bonnie, the REAL one not the new plasticky one, he still got a fright as he was not used to the animatronics being friendly,
"Oh Lewis, thank god I found you, Chica and that fancy new replacement Chica are fighting in the kitchen!"
"Take me to them," Lewis said as he instinctively pulled out his bat, just in case... He swung around and hit a big blue rabbit in the face with his bat, Toy Bonnie obviously not expecting a fight from the night guard clumsily fell back onto the ground. Lewis then activated the metal studs on his shoes and stepped on the rabbit's face but it only left a dent in the animatronic's mask. He deactivated the studs and started hitting the blue animatronic over and over with his bat, relentlessly, he had missed this over the weekend with his nightshifts being very simple and boring,
"Hey, that hurts!" The Animatronic shouted in a high-pitched voice, it then started hitting Lewis with his guitar, which made his head throb. He raised his bat to block Toy Bonnie's guitar and shouted,
"On guard!" They then engaged in a sort of sword fight exchanging blows back and forth until Lewis took a massive swing and snapped Toy Bonnie's Guitar,
"NO! My guitar, I need that to perform!" Lewis looked around for the original Bonnie but he had left so Lewis hopped into the vents and headed towards the kitchen when he got there he saw a beaten-up Chica on the floor wailing. Lewis rushed over,
"Chica are you alright?" Asked Lewis sounding concerned, "AJ, I need you in the kitchen to help get Chica into the staff-only area." Five minutes later AJ arrived and they attempted to lift the heavy animatronic, "One two three heave!" Lewis shouted. They managed to shift Chica out into the hallway and that was when all hell broke loose, Toy Chica and Toy Bonnie jumped out of the shadow and tried to pull Chica out of the two boys' hands, but Golden Freddy evaporated in front of them and spooked off the two Toys,
"Thank you," Lewis said but she was already gone. Then footsteps from behind them, a big stick figure with a white mask and tears streaming down its face, it looked like it was attached to strings,
"Lewis, I think we better pick up the pace, that thing doesn't look friendly," They started waddling faster and then Lewis saw the door of the staff-only area they threw Chica in and Lewis dived after her, the stick figure almost caught up with AJ but AJ did a knee slide and made it into the staff only area, the puppet opened the door but stood staring in,
"I don't think he can't come in the staff-only area, it must be against his programming." Then the sweet chimes of 6 am rang and the puppet ran away...
