I don't own Harry Potter.
Please read and review, I really don't know how to write children.
Hermione was woken up by the first stray sunlight that had strayed into her room. Hermione didn't want to get up. She had a painful headache. She was too old for this, Her hangovers were the worst.
She didn't want to get up. She refused to open her eyes. She was nuzzled up next to someone. She could feel their soft body pushing against her. It took her a second to come to her senses.
She was in bed with Adria. They were both clothed so nothing untoward had happened last night. God, She shouldn't be disappointed at that thought. Hermione slowly extracted herself from the knot of limbs.
She sighed in relief when Adria didn't wake up. She didn't need to embarrass herself this early in the morning. She hastily made breakfast and got ready for work. She was running late for work. Adria woke up when she was putting on her shoes.
"Good morning." She murmured
"Morning, I'm going to pick up Rose, I have to drop her off at daycare." She explained.
Hermione paused, " Do you want to meet her after work?" She asked, Hermione, didn't know if she was asking for herself or for Rose.
Adria looked uncertain, It took her a moment to answer. "Yes… I would like that." She said.
"It will be fine" Hermione whispered.
"I will talk to her…" She said, "See you later then." Hermione whispered before grabbing some floo powder and floo'd to the burrow.
Hermione decided it would be better to tell her daughter that her mother had returned home later. She didn't know how her daughter would handle it. Rose had grown up hearing stories about her father, She didn't know how she would handle this change. She was very worried about Adria but she didn't voice it.
Hermione somehow slogged through the mountain of paperwork in a daze. She enjoyed the work she did but the monotonous rhythm of paperwork always made her mind wander a little. Her mind revisited the start of the date. She had been curled up next to Adria. She was so soft, It was not something she had been used to with Adria.
Hermione knew she needed to get her act together. She was not used to dealing with Adria whom she was attracted to, Their physical relationship had always been strained and unnatural. Waking up with Adria felt like the most natural thing in the world.
Hermione's good was crushed when she got a letter from Adria. Her handwriting was still untidy, She had hastily written a note telling her that something had come up in Germany that she needed to attend to and she will be returning home in a few days.
She had left again, Hermione was in a sour mood when she picked up Rose from the daycare. She tried to listen to Rose's day but she was close to tears. Rose was badgering her to see Harry. Usually, she wouldn't have given in, but she needed to see her friend too.
"Gin Gin" Rose yelled before running to hug Ginny. Ginny laughed before hugging the girl.
"What did we say about that nickname?" She asked Rose.
Rose just giggled.
"I am stuck with that nickname, aren't I?" Ginny asked looking up at her.
Ginny frowned and raised her and raised her eyebrows. She shook her head and mouthed later. Ginny and Hermione entertained Rose for half an hour before the girl fell asleep on the couch. Hermione watched her daughter sleep
"What happened?" Ginny asked handing her a cup of tea.
"She left, She was supposed to meet Rose today but she blew us off because something came up in Germany."
"She is an idiot," Ginny whispered.
"She is coming back right?" She asked
"In a few days," Hermione said.
"I will talk to her," Ginny said with an evil grin on her face.
"So you have told her?" She asked pointing to Rose.
Hermione shook her head, " I wanted to but I am scared" Hermione said.
"Maybe Adria was scared too?" Ginny suggested.
"Listen, Everything will be fine, she will come back," Ginny added.
"Harry is late, He usually gets home before 7," Ginny murmured "Guess, I will have to make dinner today."
"I will help you," Hermione said before getting up.
Ginny and Hermione cooked in silence. It was a good distraction from the miserable day she had. They knew Harry got back when Rose yelled his name. Ginny went to greet her while she cooked.
They had dinner together, It had become a sort of ritual after Adria left. They would have dinner together at least twice during the week. Hermione was always grateful for their company. She didn't know where she would be without them.
Ginny pulled her aside while Harry was playing with Rose. She was sometimes Jealous of
"Do you want me to tell her?" She asked
"What?" Hermione asked in surprise.
"About R-Adria?"
"I will do it." Hermione answered, " I want you there." She said squeezing her hands.
Hermione and Ginny sat down next to Harry and Rose. They were playing Wizarding Chess, Rose only knew half the rules and made the other half on the fly.
"Hey sweetheart, Remember when we talked about your dad?" She asked
"Yes! Is he coming back!?" She asked throwing her hand-ups.
" Yes, S-he is coming back," Hermione said slowly. " See, your dad was not well, He realized he is actually your mom and she is coming back."
"My dad is my mom?" She asked a bit confused then looked upset.
"I don't have a dad?" She asked looking close to tears.
Ginny smiled, " Rosie, You have two moms, not many people have two moms."
Ginny's comment made Rose pause. She turned to Harry, "Do you have two moms?" She asked
Harry winced before answering. "Just one."
" Neither does Hermione or Me, or anyone else in the family," Ginny added. Rosie was grinning,
"I have two moms!" she yelled victoriously. Rose was soon distracted by Harry and she went back to playing chess with checkers rules.
Ginny laughed, "That went well."
"It did go better than I expected," Hermione answered with a relieved sigh. She leaned back on the couch.
"She will have questions but I think we will be fine, thank you, Ginny." She said
Ginny squeezed her hand. "We will always be there for you, Hermione."
