Author's Notes: Hi, readers. Here's chapter two of "Danger Everywhere." I can't believe I got two reviews for chapter one. I didn't think that would happen, but I'm happy it did. I want to thank everyone who reviewed. As for other readers, don't hesitate to review. I'd love to hear your ideas for this fic. Anyway, this chapter introduces Jake, Neytiri, Norm, and Max. There is a little bit of Jake/Neytiri as well. Stay tuned for chapter three.

Chapter 2: Time to Go/The Arrival

The early morning sun shined down on Hell's Gate the next day. Two lines of colonists were walking toward the Valkyrie from the main building. A few Na'vi sat on direhorses with their arrows aimed at the colonists. Several rode around on theirs. Jake, Neytiri, Max, and Norm stood close to the Valkyrie. Jake held his gun steady while keeping his eye on them. Norm and Max kept their guns at their sides. They narrowed their eyes at the colonists while breathing deeply.

Jake breathed deeply. He and Neytiri managed to find a seriously injured Tsu'tey with the help of surviving warriors right after he linked back up to his avatar. They were told Trudy had been found with injuries just as serious as Tsu'tey's were due to ejecting from Samson 16 just seconds before Quaritch destroyed it with a missile. They knew the only way their lives could be saved was to seek the help of the doctors at the colony. Jake gathered almost all of the remaining warriors and overran it very easily. They rounded up the colonists and made them go to their rooms to await further instructions. Tsu'tey and Trudy were rushed to the infirmary.

Jake discussed with Norm and Max about what to do with the colonists. They agreed to send the ones who sided with the RDA back to Earth. They gave the ones who sided with the Na'vi the option of staying or leaving. That number totaled three hundred and fifty. Fifty decided they wanted to go home. Jake told the other group they were returning to Earth. Some protests rang out, but they quieted down when Selfridge said they should just obey him. The colonists agreed, though it was rather reluctantly. Tsu'tey and Trudy's lives were saved with surgery. They were currently recuperating.

Selfridge looked toward Jake as Ronnie walked alongside him. They had backpacks on their backs and duffel bags over their shoulders. He appeared to have a defeated expression on his face. A Na'vi guided his direhorse toward the group, making it stop in its tracks. Jake gestured toward the Valkyrie. Selfridge glanced toward it, his breathing low and steady. He ran his tongue all over the inside of his mouth before clearing his throat. Norm and Max looked at each other. Smiles formed on their faces.

"Thank Eywa we won't have to deal with these greedy buttheads again," Norm whispered in relief.

"I know," Max agreed as he blinked twice. "Now, the Na'vi can live in peace once again."

"I am glad Grace survived the consciousness transfer," Norm whispered while leaning toward him. "She decided she will live with the Omaticaya permanently. She is going to reopen her school."

"That is good," Max said and inhaled deeply. He exhaled slowly before suppressing a yawn. "She will be able to teach the children about subjects of human culture Selfridge wouldn't let her touch."

Norm chuckled. "Like dinosaurs."

"Exactly," Max said, nodding in agreement.

"Dinosaurs are magnificent creatures. I would love to touch one," Norm said, wiggling his eyebrows.

Max clicked his tongue. "Me too."

Neytiri tilted her head in confusion as the men chuckled to themselves. She glanced at Jake, who turned to her. She waved her tail from side to side three times. She did the same up and down twice.

"Jake, what are dinosaurs?" Neytiri asked.

"Dinosaurs are prehistoric creatures that once lived on Earth. They lived for one hundred sixty-five million years before an asteroid slammed into it and wiped them out. Birds are said to have evolved from them," Jake explained.

"Really?" Neytiri wondered, her ears perking up.

"Yes," Jake admitted with a slow nod. "Dinosaurs never really went extinct. They just became another animal."

"Do you think you could tell me more at another time?" Neytiri responded hopefully.

"Of course," Jake agreed with a nod. "I would be more than happy to. It won't be just dinosaurs I will tell you about. I will tell you about other prehistoric creatures as well."

Neytiri nodded at her mate and kissed his cheek. They turned back to the colonists, their ears twitching somewhat. They could see Selfridge and Ronnie heading up the ramp. They watched them until the duo were out of sight. They glanced at each other. They proceeded to talk amongst themselves. Norm and Max joined in on the conversation after looking at them.

Selfridge and Ronnie made their way down the left side of the Valkyrie. They stopped at the end and sat down. They took their backpacks off their backs and set them on the floor along with their bags. They buckled themselves up and adjusted the straps somewhat. They observed other colonists going to seats and sitting down. They turned to each other. They formed big smirks on their faces.

"Those bozos have no idea we have removed everything concerning the dinosaur facility from the main building, Ronnie," Selfridge whispered in much pride.

"Yeah," Ronnie agreed. "Of course, I retrieved more of the folders and flash drives than you did."

"You might have, but I was the one who found the final flash drive," Selfridge commented smugly.

Ronnie raised an eyebrow. "Don't get smug, sir. It will bite you on the ass when you least expect it."

Selfridge sat up tall and proud. "Bring it on. I am not scared at all."

Ronnie elbowed his boss in the arm with a chuckle. Selfridge tweaked his nose and pretended to pull his underwear over his head. Ronnie felt around as if he were blind. Selfridge acted like he was putting his underwear back. He emitted a soft laugh.

"We may be businessmen who take our jobs seriously, but it is nice to mess around once in a while," Selfridge said.

"Yeah," Ronnie agreed. "Of course, you start it most of the time."

"I do not think so," Selfridge responded while shaking his head.

"I do think so," Ronnie commented with a nod.

Selfridge huffed. "No."

Ronnie smirked. "Yes."

Selfridge waved Ronnie off, getting a laugh from him. He looked down at his backpack and unzipped it. He reached into it to pull out a folder. He set it in his lap before opening it. He flipped through the pages until he came to a charging Triceratops on the sixth page. He traced his finger over the horn.

"Clarence mentioned to me nomadic Na'vi clans occasionally pass through the territory where his facility is located," Selfridge whispered.

"Those Na'vi would be perfect for a demonstration of the prehistoric creatures' ferocity," Ronnie replied, his brow furrowing.

"I agree," Selfridge said as he rubbed his nose. He suppressed a yawn and smacked his lips. "Which creature would be best for the demonstration?"

"I say the Velociraptor. Its pack hunting abilities are much like that of the viperwolf. Both are distractors and ambushers," Ronnie pointed out.

"That is a good idea," Selfridge said and emitted a soft snort. "The Na'vi can climb trees, but that won't keep them safe from a Triceratops. It could knock the tree down by ramming its head into it."

"The Pachycephalosaurus is known for charging and ramming its head into things," Ronnie said while gesturing toward a charging Pachycephalosaurus on the seventh page.

"It is likely the males butted heads with each other to compete for mates," Selfridge whispered. "I am sure they used their domes to protect themselves from theropods that were around their size or slightly larger."

"Mountain goats and bighorns were known to butt heads to compete for mates," Ronnie said. "I bet that is where that theory came from."

"Yep," Selfridge agreed.

"For years, only the skulls of this dinosaur were found. Then other parts of the skeleton turned up," Ronnie answered and let out a long yawn. "It has been said the Stygimoloch is the juvenile form of the Pachycephalosaurus. I don't buy it. There are too many differences between the two species."

"For sure. The Stygimoloch may be smaller than the Pachycephalosaurus, but it has a thicker neck. The spikes gave it its name. They resemble those of a demon," Selfridge commented and bit his lip.

"I know. Ronnie responded with a small chuckle. He frowned and cringed quite a bit. "I would not want any of these domeheads charging at anyone or me. They would kill or severely injure us if they struck us."

"The collars will keep the critters from attacking us as we will be in control," Selfridge said, closing the folder and slipping it back into his backpack. He zipped it shut. He folded his hands and laid them in his lap. "They will be still dangerous to be around."

"So true," Ronnie said while rubbing his chin. He tapped his foot three times before digging the heel of his shoe into the floor. "Never underestimate any creature, even if it is small."

Selfridge nodded in agreement. They proceeded to talk about the Styracosaurus as more colonists came aboard.

The ISV Venture Star moved above Pandora in the late afternoon. It seemed to slow down once it was over its intended destination. The pilots looked toward Polyphemus while running their tongues all over the inside of their mouths. Its thirteen moons could barely be seen. They cast shadows on the gas giant. They appeared to be beauty marks.

The ISV Venture Star turned upside down in which it got the Valkyrie facing the moon. The Valkyrie detached and headed downward. It went through the atmosphere. The pilots leveled it out as it flew above the rainforest. Cliffs were here and there. Off the in the distance appeared to a huge aviary. The faint squawking of pterosaurs could be heard.

Selfridge and Ronnie sat in the same seats as they had before. They did not have their exopacks on at the moment. Selfridge was flipping through his folder of prehistoric creatures. He came to a page containing a Monoclonius with its front foot off the ground and its mouth wide open. He traced his finger over the horn. He clicked his tongue three times as Ronnie looked at him.

"Are you nervous about seeing the facility, sir?" Ronnie asked while furrowing his brow.

"No. Are you?" Selfridge wondered.

"Nah," Ronnie admitted. "That is weird because we have never stepped foot in that place."

"We really did not have a choice," Selfridge responded, glancing at him. "We could not let the Avatar Team find out what was going on. They would've alerted the Na'vi."

"When the Na'vi know something is happening, they are determined to put a stop to it," Ronnie pointed out.

"Like the mining we were doing," Selfridge said and cleared his throat.

"Exactly," Ronnie replied with a nod. "Killing the indigenous does look bad, but a bad quarterly statement is worse."

"We never made the rules," Selfridge commented and smacked his lips. "The customer is always right, except for certain circumstances."

"Like being rude or making threats," Ronnie murmured.

"Right," Selfridge said and looked down at the Monoclonius. "The Monoclonius is another ceratopsian that can do a bit of damage. It is smaller than the Triceratops is, but it is fearsome."

"Didn't you say that Clarence cloned that dinosaur to be larger than its original counterpart once?" Ronnie wondered curiously.

"Yes, I did," Selfridge admitted. He ran his hand over his face three times before suppressing a yawn. He moved his head from side to side to stretch his neck. "The Velociraptor is modeled after the Deinonychus. The latter is actually larger than the former in normal circumstances. The Velociraptor was cloned to be much more fearsome and intelligent. At Jurassic Park, Patrick Muldoon said it was as smart as the chimpanzee."

"Talk about wild," Ronnie said.

Selfridge closed the folder and glanced at his friend. He observed him adjusting his glasses and listened to him clearing his throat. He cupped his chin in his hand before whispering inaudible words. The chief walked past them while mumbling under his breath.

"It took several hours for all the colonists to be board on the ISV Venture Star," Ronnie whispered with a shake of his head. "There was no way all of them could be put on that Valkyrie."

"I know," Selfridge agreed. "Thankfully, there was a backup Valkyrie on this ship. That will allow for less time to bring the colonists to the facility. There is going to be so much to do once we get there."

Ronnie swallowed hard. "Where do you think we will be taken first? I have no doubt Clarence will be eager to give a tour to us."

"I would say he will take us to see the baby dinosaurs that have just hatched. If they haven't, then we will get a chance to watch them come out of their eggs," Selfridge commented, smiling in some warmth.

"John Hammond always lit up with joy when he watched dinosaurs hatch from their eggs at Jurassic Park. He made sure they imprinted on him, so they would not harm him. Ellie Sattler made him realize he never really had control of the place. She admitted she was overwhelmed by its power, but she made a mistake in not having enough respect for it. The power was out. All that matter to her were the people they loved were out where others were dying," Ronnie explained.

"Things become most precious when they are gone," Selfridge admitted with a heavy sigh. "Quaritch is dead, so we will not have his expertise to fight the natives. However, Terry Wang has volunteered to take over as Clarence told me just before the Na'vi overran Hell's Gate. He has the most military experience after him."

"Terry made a smart move joining Clarence in monitoring the prehistoric critters. That is going to help us a lot," Ronnie said, smiling.

"It sure will," Selfridge agreed and closed the folder. He slipped it into his backpack and zipped it shut. He clapped three times. "I do like the name of the facility being called Paradise Range. It is actually rather deceiving because the animals are really dangerous."

"Some people would think animals were cute and cuddly in the wild after seeing them in a zoo. They were proved wrong when the animals attacked them," Ronnie pointed out truthfully.

Selfridge chuckled. "Stupid is as stupid does."

Ronnie nodded in agreement. The chief walked by with his assistant right on his tail. He whistled loudly, causing everyone to look up. This included Selfridge and Ronnie.

"Everyone, get your exopacks on!" the chief called.

Selfridge, Ronnie, and the other passengers put their exopacks on very quickly. They opened the valves and adjusted them. The partners rubbed their hands together before laughing softly.

"We are almost there!" Ronnie yelled eagerly.

"We sure are," Selfridge agreed with a laugh.

Ronnie smirked. "I hope they have golf gear for you there."

Selfridge rolled his eyes. "Shut the hell up."

The pilots narrowed their eyes as Paradise Range came into view. The facility was even larger than that of Hell's Gate. It was surrounded on all sides by a metal fence. Barbed wire could be seen at the top. The main building was close to the front. Clarence and Clarice stood on the tarmac. They put their hands over their eyes.

The Valkyrie came up on the tarmac. The directors waved their light sticks toward themselves while walking away. It turned sideways and lowered toward the tarmac. They moved out of the way as it landed with a hard bump. Selfridge, Ronnie, and the others bounced in their seats. The partners groaned in much annoyance.

"Okay. Let's go everyone!" the chief shouted.

Everyone unbuckled his or her harnesses. Selfridge and Ronnie stood up and grabbed their backpacks. They put them on their backs. They got their duffel bags to put them over their shoulders. The other passengers repeated their actions. The duo headed to the front. The chief came to Selfridge's side and cleared his throat.

"Please, do not stop. Head inside right way," the chief called and slipped on his exopack. He opened the valve. "Wait for my mark."

The chief pressed the button and exhaled sharply. He suppressed a yawn and smack his lip. The ramp lowered with a loud hiss. Selfridge and Ronnie titled their heads once it was on the tarmac.

"Come on!" the chief yelled. "Get out of here!"

The passengers raced down the ramp in two straight lines. They seemed to run parallel with each other. Selfridge and Ronnie went off to the side as they headed into the building. They looked around twice. Whistling sounded, causing them to look toward Clarence and Clarice. Both groups walked to each other while laughing softly.

"Parker, it is great to see you in person," Clarence said eagerly as he held out his hand.

"It is great to see you in person too, Clarence," Selfridge said, taking it and shaking it quickly. He let go of it and offered his to Clarice when he glanced at her. "The same goes for you, Clarice."

Clarice smiled while taking it and shaking it. "The pleasure is all mine, Parker."

"It is nice to finally be here," Ronnie said, shaking each of the partners' hands. He rubbed his neck before emitting an irritated groan. "I just wish it had been under better circumstances." He mumbled inaudible words. "Those damn savages have cost us a lot."

"We are determined to help you regain Hell's Gate," Clarence said while rubbing his hands together. "Why don't we all go inside?"

Selfridge nodded in agreement. "That is a good idea."

Ronnie smiled. "Yes."

Clarence, Clarice, Selfridge, and Ronnie headed inside while clicking their tongue twice. They proceeded to talk about the first demonstration of the prehistoric animals' power.
