Chapter 7: First missions
"Welp, this is a very long day." thought an exhausted Tenten as she noticed that the day-light was starting to get more and more difficult to see
"Well, Youthful Genins! This is it for today!" exclaimed Gai
"Heh, must be Fate or something." Tenten mentally chuckled before frowning "Neji is starting to rub me the wrong way."
"Are you sure Gai-Sensei!?" screamed a sad Lee
"Yes Lee! You need to have some youthful resting time."
"Lee! You start at 10 AM right." Gai asked suddently after seeing Lee's head dropping down in disappointment
Lee responded with a nod "Well come at 5 AM so that way I can train you and you can still be on time." Gai say before frowning "He said to be on training ground 7 at 10 AM right?"
"Yes Gai-Sensei." screamed Lee making Tenten mutter "Why does they always have to scream for god sakes..."
"Well Kakashi has an unyouthful habit of being at least 1 hour late so we can train more than 5 hours together." Gai said excitedly before he and Lee hugged each other
"He isn't even on our Team ya know."
"He treats him better than us, his GODDAMN TEAM!"
"I guess fate has decided that our sensei will meet a mediocre shinobi and try to help him out of his destiny, even if it's impossible."
"What is his destiny." asked Naruto
"The same as yours."
"Still doesn't tell what it is you stupid idiot." exclaimed Naruto making Neji turn to face him with a harsh glare
"A fate of mediocrity." he icily said
"Great, thanks for the confidance boost you long haired jackass." he sarcastically said before Neji pulled him out of the ground holding his collar
"I don't know you who the hell do you think you are but I won't let someone like you insult me." he hissed
"Someone like me?" Naruto asked
"A failure."
"Yeah, I think you already told me that." he said jokingly
"Shut up." he hissed even more intensely also ignoring Tenten's demand of putting him down
"What? You say the same things over and over again. I'm starting to think that you have Alzheimer or somethin'." He said gleefully before seeing Neji shake in anger as he became legitemally scared "Huh Neji? I'm joking ya' know, I'm playing with ya'."
"WHY YOU WOULD PLAY GAMES WITH ME!" he barked out but before he could anything to him Gai stopped him
"Now Neji, stop wasting that youthful energy like that. Keep it for tomorrow."
Neji continued to glare at Naruto before saying "The next time to talk to me like that, I'll make you swallow your teeth and tears you understand me failure?" he asked but instead for an answer Naruto got right in his face with a glare of his own
"So Sensei? When do we start?" questionned Tenten after sighing
"At 1 PM."
"And what are we going to do?"
"Missions." he declared proudly
"MISSIONS, HELL YEAH." Naruto shouted forgetting about his anger before stopping and looking at Tenten fearfully "Huh, I guess I'll see you tomorrow bye." he quickly said before running away
"GET BACK HERE NARUTO!" shouted Tenten before sighing "He didn't even heard where we are going to meet up, I guess someone has to warn him." She said before smilling sweetly at Neji
"No." he said
"No what?"
"I'm not going."
"Going where?"
"Stop playing dumb, I'm not going to warn that good for nothing loser."
"Come on Neji please." she begged making him shake his head, she sighed before turning toward Naruto's apartment
But after 10 minutes she heard screaming near the shopping part of the village
"What the hell is happening." she muttered under her breath while going toward the scream.
And then she saw Naruto in front of a shop with his head down and a couple of villagers screaming at him. She was about to ask what was the problem when she heard someone screaming in a deep voice "WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING!"
"Dad?" thought Tenten
"Mr Higurashi!" the villagers squeaked out
"I'll repeat my question, WHAT. THE. HELL. ARE. YOU. DOING!"
"Well you see we saw that thing coming toward your shop and we knew that he was going to rob you so we prevented that from happening." exclaimed a villager confident in his answer.
Tenten's dad took a deep breath before saying wery slowly and dangerously "First off, his name is Naruto Uzumaki, not that thing…"
"Yeah and?" interrupted before flinching back at the dangerous glare Mr Higurashi was giving him
"The fact that you even ask me why the fact that his last name is Uzumaki is something important show me your lack of intelligence of the Shinobi world." He growled "Oh, and the next time one of you interrupts me, I'll break his jaw and knock his teeths out you understand?" he asked as the villagers nodded gulping down
"Good now second of all, I know that Naruto wouldn't rob me since he likes to come buy his stuff in my shop… remember what I said about knocking your teeths down?" he said as he saw that the villagers were whispering to each other "Great now get out of here!" he commanded
The villagers did as they were told and quickly scattered away
"Bunch of jackass." he growled before looking at Naruto "Holding up kiddo?"
"You didn't have to do this ya know, there will be bad repercussion for your shop."
Naruto looked confused when he heard Mr Higurashi laughing
"They are villagers brat, and villagers don't go to ninja tool shop. Pretty sure half of them don't even know what does half of the stuff there is in there. So don't worry I'm not going bankrupt anytime soon."
"Hey Naruto" said Tenten acting like she had heard nothing "Just here to tell you that we are going to meet up at the Training Camp 9."
"Alright thanks Tenten!" said a silently relieved Naruto "She heard nothing" he thought
"So did you want to buy something Naruto."
"Yeah a couple Kunai but I saw the prices and… well I guess I'll come back another time."
"Nonsense! Those are the best kunai in Konoha so of course they are going to be expensive. If you want something for your budget buy these." he said pointing at a set of kunai
"Yeah, those are as good as the best stuff that the second best ninja tools shop in the village would offer." agreed Tenten
"What! They are the second lowest item in the entire shop."
"Well we are just that damn good." said Mr Higurashi proudly
"You're right about that." said a new voice
"Mom!" exclaimed Tenten before hugging her
"Hey honey." said Mr Higurashi before kissing her
"Hello Naruto" she said
"Hello Ms Higurashi how are you today." Naruto asked with a big smile on his face
"Great and you?"
"Great as well, so uhm, I was about to buy those kunai, can I?" asked Naruto apprehensively
"Yes you can why couldn't you?"
"Well sometimes the other shops don't let me so…" he muttered shyly
"Those Jackasses." she muttered
"That's my line." said her husband
"Shut up."
"No"
"Yes you will"
"Why?"
"Because you will sleep on the couch."
"You wouldn't!" he exclaimed eyes wide open
"You know I would."
"Please don't! He's super hard and you know I retired due to…"
"Mom! Dad! He's waiting"
They both turned to see Naruto with the set of kunai in his hands
"Oh well I give them to you, nobody ever take them you'll do us a favor by taking them."
"Thanks a lot Mister, but I gotta ask, were you a shinobi?"
"We both were" Ms Higurashi answered "We met up in the second great ninja war frontline."
"Yeah, but we retired when we learned about the prenancy"
"I did, you didn't"
"Officially I did."
"But the real reason is that your body was too broken down right?" questionned Tenten
"How the fuck do you know that?" he sweared making Ms Higurashi pound on his head
"The fact that you have trouble getting up, your constant limp or the fact that you sometimes don't feel your arms and leg." she answered making her father blush
"Yes your father was what we call injury prone." laughed Tenten's mom
"No I wasn't." he muttered
"Yes you were, you broke and tore about every part of your body, I can do the list if you want"
"Go on."
"Okay : Torn ACL, UCL, MCL, PCL, Quad, Bicept, Tricept, Meniscus, Rotator Cuff. Concussed Ten times,two Hernia, three Stinger. Herniated Spinal Disc, Dislocated Shoulder, Distented Anus (That one made made Naruto and Tenten laugh) Broke his neck three times, Shattered his knee, and the one that would have ended your career even if I wasn't pregnant, A Semi-Severed Spinal Columb." she finished making the two members of Team 9 flinch
"The fact that you can still walk is impressive" said Naruto
"Well I'm tough like that" he said proudly
"But your muscles and bones aren't, that's for sure." giggled Tenten making her mother laugh and her father pout
«Well I think we are going to let Naruto go, after a day with Gai he should be exhausted." said Ms Higurashi still laughing
"Oh yeah I should go home, bye everyone." he yelled running toward his home
"Bye Naruto!" the members of the Higurashi family yelled back
The two female Higurashi turned toward the male one, who was, still pouting
"Never tease me like that in front of client ever again alright?" he demanded making them laugh
Naruto who currently was running with a smile, thinking back at the interaction with Tenten and her family, didn't saw Hinata Hyuuga standing before his apartment door
"Excuse… m-me… N-N-N-Naruto" she said in a soft voice
Naruto looked up at her surprised
"Hey Hinata what are ya' doing here?"
"Hum… I-I'm Neji's cousin… s-so.." she started but Naruto interrupted
"Oh hum sorry but I don't believe I have done anythin' wrong to him ya' know, okay we argue sometimes but…" he started rambling
"Naruto is talking to me" Hinata thought "That's… n-not why …I-I'm here for." she stated
"Oh alright, then why are you here."
"I'm here to… t-talk about… h-h-his attitude."
"Oh yeah sometimes he is a complete jackass." he said with a frown making Hinata giggle
"Yes h-he… ma-may be a… "total jackass" a-as you… put i-it, but ple-please don't be to-too har-harsh on him." said Hinata with a soft look on her face
"He wa-wasn't ha-had t-the be-best life… a-and I kn-know tha-that you hav-haven't got the best life… a-as well so I ho-hoped that y-you… could bond… t-t-together."
"Huh alright I'll try my best, but don't be surprised with once or twice he comes back with a bruise on his face." he exclaimed making Hinata giggle again
"Huh… N-N-N-N-Naruto… w-w-wait u-u-up." she stuttered out
"Yeah?" he asked
"D-Do y-y-you w-w-want to eatsomethingtogethersomeday." she squeaked out
"Huh could you repeat"
"Do you w-want to eat s-something t-t-together s-s-someday. Just us you know?" she asked as Naruto started to think
"B-But t-t-that's okay if y-y-you don't w-w-want to." she said with her head down "He would never want to eat with a creep like me" she thought sadly
"Why not, let's do it as soon as the both of us have free time."
Hinata's head went up in a millisecond harboring a shocked look on her face as she started blushing and nodded before quickly running away
"Bye Hinata!" Naruto yelled at her departing back
The following day Team 9 were at the Hokage's Tower waiting for their mission
Well Neji and Tenten were because Naruto was nowhere to be found
"Where is he, he's 10 minutes late."
Neji was about to say something when they heard somebody's footsteps running towards them
"Hey guys, holy shit the traffic was awful today."
Neji chuckled concesdently as Tenten sighed
"So, what do you think our first mission will be? I think we will protect a king, or a princess or maybe even..." he rambled with a goofy grin
"I believe we will know soon enough." she cut him off pointing at Gai who had a scroll in his hands
"YOUTHFUL GENINS OUR FIRST MISSION WILL BE…" he stopped for the suspens "TO CUT A VILLAGERS GRASS!"
"WHAT!" Naruto barked out
"Really!" Tenten yelled
"You got to be kidding me." Neji muttered out
"Then we need to clean the Inuzuka's kennel, plant some vegeables, milk and letter delivery and finally we will assist Iruka's lesson in the academy." Gai continued
"Wait so does that mean that we will have to clean the Inuzuka's dog poop?" Naruto asked to which Gai nodded
"I'm not doing that." said Neji in disgust
"I'm about to puke." said a well... almost puking Tenten
End Chapter 7
Oops… hehe sorry for the wait.
As you would have guessed a chapter per week will be complicated, so I'll just upload when I feel like it
I prefer publishing a 5000-10000 word chapter once per month then a 600-1000 word chapter per week (well this one was about 2500 words [Word says 2 409] but I will try for the next chapters to be longer)
Oh and by the way I'm not doing the "villagers beat down Naruto" BS because it's well, Bullshit, and has been done to the point that it is one of the annoying Naruto fanfic cliche ever
And Finally if there is any Wrestling fan reading before AEW Full Gear what are your predictions (Just give MJF the fucking belt please...)
