A/N: Hey guys! I wanted to say thanks for all the reviews that you guys leave. I know that there hasn't been much Bella action lately but that changes in this chapter. We're on episode 5 of Season 3.
Chapter 34: turning and turning
Gemma POV
I heard the heart monitor beeping. I opened my eyes. Great the hospital. I looked over in the corner and saw Clay sitting there reading the paper. "Hey baby." I said.
"Good morning." Clay said.
"Heart attack?" I asked.
"No. Bad arrhythmia." He said. "Knocked you on your ass. You stopped taking your meds?"
"They make my feet swell. Can't get into my boots." I said.
"Fashion before health, that's my girl. You need to get back on your medications, stabilize you. Doc says you should be fine in a few days." Clay said.
I went to move my arm and I heard the handcuffs clatter against the side of the bed. "Oh shit." I said.
I sighed. "What were you thinking…coming back here?" Clay asked.
"I was thinking I was going to see my grandson. You lied to me." I said.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"Where's Jax? Bells? I need some answers." I said.
Jax POV
"Hey." I said when I walked into the waiting room with Bells. She walked over and hugged Ope.
"How is she?" Bobby asked.
"Still asleep. I just had to get out of that room." I said.
"Same." Bells added.
"Yeah, well we should talk." Bobby said.
"Okay. So what's going on?" I asked.
"I have to confirm with Serg's tracker today." Bobby said.
"Pull the trigger. Send the ten grand." I said. "I'm making sure my mom's okay and then I'm heading north."
"I'm going with." Opie said. I looked at Bells and she nodded.
"It doesn't matter how many of us go. We're gonna need cash to pull it off." Bobby said.
Tara walked in. "Gemma's awake. Wants to talk to you and Bells." Tara said.
I nodded. Bells and I followed Tara back to my mom's room. "Hey mom." I said.
Tara started to leave. "This is on you too Doc." Mom said. Tara turned around and stood behind me and Bells. "What happened? The truth. All of it."
"When Cameron killed Sack, he took Abel. Feds weren't doing shit, so we hired a bounty hunter. We got this a few days ago. He's somewhere up in Vancouver." I said.
"We were just trying to protect you." Bells said.
"Bullshit! You're trying to protect yourselves. He's not in Vancouver. The call I got last night…triggered all this? It's Maureen Ashby." Mom said looking at Clay.
"Who's Maureen Ashby?" Jax and Bells asked at the same time.
"McGee's Old Lady. Friend of the club." Clay said.
"She told me Abel's in Belfast." Mom said.
"No can't be. Jimmy and O'Neill saw Cameron get scooped up as soon as he hit Belfast. He didn't have Abel with him." I said.
"Well then somebody's full of shit." She said and the heart monitor started beeping.
"You need to take it easy baby." Clay said.
The nurse came in. "Come on everyone out. She needs rest."
We walked out of the room and Clay, Bells and I stood in the hallway for a minute. "We gotta call McGee." I said.
Bells headed back to the waiting room.
"No." Clay said. "If O'Neill lied to you, means Belfast could be in bed with Jimmy."
"McGee's first nine. You think he'd lie to us?" I asked.
"I don't know. But we got to talk to his Old Lady again. She owns a grocery store a block away from the Belfast Clubhouse." Clay said.
Tara stepped out of the room. "She wants to see you." Tara told Clay.
Gemma POV
"Jax goes to Belfast, stones get unturned." I said.
"I know." Clay said.
"Bound to happen I guess." I said.
"And what happens to you?" He asked me.
"I called Stahl…made a deal. Told her I'd sign off on her bullshit story. She takes death off the table. I get weekly visitations. Supposed to turn myself in this morning. I'm sorry baby." I said. "I'm too old to run."
Bella POV
I walked into Gemma's room that afternoon, and gave her a sad smile. "Come here." She said. I walked over and sat in the chair that Clay had been sitting in that morning. "I'm not mad at you. I know that you were just doing what the boys told you to do."
"Thanks. I told them you needed to know but they didn't want you to worry. They were sure that they were going to find him before you came home." I told Gem.
"I can understand that but I just wished that they had told me instead of lying to me." Gem said.
"I'm glad you're okay." I said.
She smiled at me. "Me too sweetheart…me too."
When I left the hospital, I noticed that there was a car following me. The windows were tinted so I couldn't see inside, but I had an idea of who it could be. I drove as fast and as safely as I could back to the Clubhouse. When I pulled in, I climbed out of my car and ran into the clubhouse. Dad was the first one I saw. "You okay?" He asked me.
I shook my head. "There was someone following me." I said.
Dad pulled me into his arms and held me tight. "It's okay, we're gonna figure this out." He said.
Gemma POV
Tara walked in. "You wanted me?" She asked.
I nodded. "Yeah." I said.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Stahl came by. Threatened to take away my deal. Guess I didn't officially turn myself." I said.
"But you called her. She knew…" Tara said.
"She's desperate." I said. "Pressing me for information on the Irish. Your name came up."
"She was in the room when the FBI interviewed me. I didn't tell them anything."
I nodded and Tara started crying. "How far along are you?" I asked her.
"Six weeks. No one knows. With everything else going on, doesn't make sense." She said.
"You're quite the secret queen lately." I said.
"Yeah well, I learned from the best." She said.
"I'm assuming it's Jax's." I questioned.
"Yes." She said.
"Good." I said.
"That's it? Good?" She asked.
"For now. Not exactly in a position of influence." I said.
Opie POV
When I got back to the clubhouse, Tig was pacing around the barroom. "What's wrong?"
"Bells is freaked out." He said.
"What happened?" I asked.
"When she left the hospital she noticed a car following her. Tinted windows. She came running in. I don't know how to calm her down." He said.
This wasn't good. "Where is she?" I asked.
"In the dorm." He said and I nodded.
Gemma POV
My cell phone started ringing. I handed the phone to Jax. "Belfast." He said. He handed it back.
I answered it. "I got your message." I said.
"I'm calling from a house line." Maureen said. "Was that JT's boy that called the shop?"
"My boy." I said. "Yes. I understand you've made contact with someone else we know."
"Aye, I have." She said.
"How can I be sure of that?" I asked.
"He's a fighter. Scar on his belly." She said.
"What was he wearing?" I asked.
"Cheap onesie. Blue hat, white pompom." She said.
I nodded and handed the phone to Jax. "Where is he?" Jax asked. I watched as he listened to whatever Maureen was saying.
Jax POV
"Abel's with a friend. I'm not sure how much longer he can keep him safe. That's all I can say right now. Boy needs his Da." Maureen said then she hung up.
"What did she say?" Clay asked me.
"We got to get to Belfast." I said and he nodded.
Bella POV
That night Opie and I were laying in bed. "It looks like Abel is in Belfast." Ope said.
"So you're going to Ireland?" I asked.
"Yeah. I think that you should come with us." He said.
"Ope…I don't know." I said.
"Bells, I don't want anything to happen."
"I know but Ope you and Dad can't protect me 24/7. If it's going to happen it's going to happen." I said.
