Go Beyond, Prince of All Saiyans!

Chapter 7 - USJ Part One

Stepping down from the transit stop, Izuku could see U.A. High from the street. As he approached the school, there appeared to be a large crowd gathered at the entrance. In fear that something concerning had happened, Izuku picked up his pace only to discover that it was a mob of Japan's various media conglomerates - evidenced by the cameras and newscasters. One of them happened to take notice of him, thanks to the uniform and backpack.

"You there young man! What's it like being taught by the hero Vegeta?"

Izuku felt all the breath in his lungs escape him as the newscaster nearly shoved her microphone in his face, in addition to a nearby cameraman zooming in to get the perfect look.

"Ah... sorry, I'm new, I don't know anything bye!"

Izuku then shuffled past the other newscasters and cameramen all the way to the door with some "I'm sorry's" and "excuse me's" here and there. Thankfully none of them even thought of following him inside, giving the first-year student a chance at relief. Besides Kacchan and Izuku's mother, the only other people he definitely knew not to tell his secret were the relentless media.

Once he reached the classroom, Izuku could tell that he wasn't the only one who had to deal with the crowd outside. Many of his fellow classmates gossiped endlessly over their excitement, anxiety, and everything in between. He kept to himself, however, and made his way to his seat.

Not long after, Sensei Aizawa was the last to enter the room, setting a stack of papers on top of his desk.

"Good work with yesterday's training," He greeted with a tired sigh. "I've reviewed the video footage and your evaluations courtesy of Vegeta."

"Bakugo, enough with the childish antics. If you put your classmates in danger like that again, I'll personally see to it that you will be expelled from this school."

"... Fine," Kacchan grumbled. Izuku always expected him to get the last word in with a sarcastic comment, but today wasn't the case.

"And you, Midoriya," The student in question jolted in place as he prepared for the lecture, "Your recklessness got the better of you yet again. If me having to stop you from hurting yourself with your quirk wasn't enough, your recklessness barely got you through your battle with Bakugo. If you want to make it, stop relying on pure luck and coincidence to save you every time."

"Okay, Sensei!" Izuku exclaimed even as small beads of sweat flowed down his face.

"Todoroki," The Sensei continued. "Your display was most impressive, but your lack of partnership was noticeable," Aizawa then ended off with a sharp narrowing of his eyes. "And make sure to show respect to those instructing you."

"I will, Sensei," Todoroki responded without a single flinch.

"With that out of the way, let's get onto the homeroom business," Aizawa said to shift the main topic. "Sorry for the sudden news, but you're picking a class president."

The entire class then erupted into excitement as nearly all the students around Izuku raised their hands high and begged for themselves to be picked for this leadership role. In normal schools, this role was followed by mundane tasks and the notion of popularity suited to the more elitist students. This title at U.A. held a different meaning, however. It showed that you were willing to lead your group for both the training and the responsibilities of being a student itself. To be a class president was the equivalent of being one of the top ten heroes in the making.

"Everyone, please quiet down!" The classmates then silenced their pleas to redirect their attention to that of Iida who kept his stern authoritative look. "This heavy responsibility should not be taken so lightly! The ambition for this job should not be equal to the ability to do so! Trust is integral if you are to be a successful leader. And that leader must be chosen by the people for the people!"

Izuku took a quick look around to see a reaction opposite from what Iida was expecting: confusion and indecision.

"Iida, we haven't known each other long enough it's too soon," Asui pointed out.

"Plus, everyone will just vote for themselves!" Kirishima added.

"And that is precisely why anyone who gets multiple votes will be most suitable!" Iida turned to the teacher, already zipping himself up in his cocoon-looking sleeping bag. "Sensei Aizawa! Will you allow this?"

"I don't care, just get this over with," He responded before pulling up the zipper.

"Thank you, Sensei!" Iida replied before he got to work on the voting system. It was simple, have everyone write down the person they're nominating on a small half-sheet piece of paper and turn them over so no one else can see it. He quickly shuffled through the room to collect the votes and shifted to the whiteboard, listing down all the names of his classmates with the number of votes next to them. The results were far from what Izuku expected, he and Iida took the lead with three votes each while Yaoyorozu held two.

"It appears we're at a tie Midoriya," Iida said, surprised as well. "Perhaps we should do another round of votes to eliminate one of us?"

Izuku could swear that his heart was hitting his sternum as the entire classroom looked to him for an answer, except for the teacher. He took a glance at the clock above the whiteboard. There would need to be more time left for another round of votes before they all needed to leave for their first class of the day.

"M-maybe the two of us could s-sort it out, maybe?" Izuku suggested, feebly attempting a smile to hide his anxiousness.

"Good idea, We can converse on who is more capable than the other! Sensei! Midoriya and I will step out onto the hallway for just a few moments. Will that be sufficient for you?"

"Just get this over with before class is over," Aizawa responded.

"Thank you, sir! Midoriya, if you would."

Izuku trailed behind Iida as the both of them walked out of the class in single file, with the former sliding the door shut and leaving the two alone in U.A.'s hallways.

"I take it that you weren't expecting to receive that many nominations let alone any at all did you Midoriya?"

"To be honest yeah," the weight on Izuku's chest now began to lift slowly. "I'm not sure why anyone would vote for me to be anything."

"It's because of your impressive performance in your battle. It was an intense match, more so than it was intended to be, but you were able to demonstrate quick thinking that allowed your team to win."

"You really think so?" Izuku asked in an incredulous tone.

"Did you not hear what the rest of our classmates had to say once you came back? Bakugo may have had the upper hand on you, but you showed an incredible amount of perseverance. Those are very sound traits for a leader."

"Oh, w-wow thanks Iida," Izuku thought he wouldn't get over being humiliated over nearly losing in his first actual fight against another person. "I thought you were gonna get first place thanks to that speech, that's why I voted for you."

Iida widened his eyes on the last part, followed by a chuckle. "I guess now it's my turn to be surprised," His features then hardened to focus on the task at hand. "But we need to make up our minds soon. What is your decision, Midoriya? I will respect whatever your wishes are."

Izuku wished that he had discussed a predicament like this with Vegeta. The position of class president would give him more of a chance to show that he is capable of being the next Symbol of Peace, which his master would want. But despite those ambitions, Izuku knew full well that he had next to no leadership skills whatsoever.

Iida, on the other hand, had more of a chance to lead the class in the right direction. His intense focus may have drawn the ire of others, but everyone else knew to respect his judgment. Taking a deep breath, Izuku made his decision.

"I'd like for you to be class president, Iida," He said in a voice now brimming with newfound confidence.

Iida gave an understanding nod. "I see. Thank you for your input Midoriya. Let's head back inside."

The two made their way back to their homeroom, stopping themselves at the desk where their teacher awaited.

"We have made a decision, sensei!" Iida declared.

"About time. Who did you pick?" Aizawa had now slipped completely out of his sleeping bag and rested behind his desk.

After a reassuring nod from his choice, Izuku was the one to respond. "Iida will be class president."

"Very well, better not let your classmates down, Iida. Now take your seats."

Izuku beared his surroundings to get a feel of the results. Uraraka gave a visible, yet subtle thumbs up while Kacchan merely scoffed at the sight of Iida taking the new position. Others looked to have visibly groaned, but a part of Izuku knew that he made the right decision.

Vegeta descended onto U.A.'s front gates, getting a clear view of the mass of police officers. Those nearby his position quickened to give him space. Uninterested at the looks of awe, Vegeta had little trouble moving through the crowd as they ensured that they wouldn't be in his way.

"Vegeta! Good that you're here." He heard from behind. Nezu looked to be rather calm despite the circumstances.

"What happened?" Vegeta grumbled.

"From what I've heard, a large crowd of reporters gathered here hoping to gain entry."

"Why would they want to enter school grounds?"

"It most likely had to do with the news breaking about you as a teacher. Everyone who entered the school was questioned about their involvement with you."

The image of his students being interrogated by the press was enough to boil his blood. "Then how did they get through? Not one of them should have been able to do so."

"That concerns me the most. We don't know," Nezu said as he stepped closer to the demolished gate. "It's highly improbable that one of the press was responsible. Most likely someone who was using the crowd as cover."

Vegeta took a closer look at the remains of the door, only dust took the place of four layers of pure concrete. "When did the barrier fall?"

"Right when the students were having lunch," Nezu replied before sighing. "As per protocol, we initiated the proper procedures, but it did little to quell the panic. Recovery Girl's office was swarmed with students nearly crushed in the initial stampede."

Vegeta dug his fingers in his palms before he said, "What made them stop?"

"One of your students, Tenya Iida, supposedly floated right up at the escape sign to calm everyone down. From what I heard, he was the first to notice that it was just the press at our doorstep. Everyone else assumed it was immediate danger. I'd congratulate the new class president if I were you."

"Class president?" Vegeta thought before he shoved the odd image out of his head. "Did those reporters see anyone suspicious within their ranks? They were loitering in the first place, they must have seen something."

"One of the press claimed they saw a rather disheveled-looking man walk up to the gate and demolish it with the tip of his finger," Nezu said. "The person in question wasn't found when the police arrived to ward everyone off."

Vegeta pieced together the odd image before he said his farewells, shortly entering the school grounds. There, he would have more than enough time to gather his spirits through meditation. The security breach was only the first step, and he made sure that he will be there when this new opponent revealed themselves once more.

The day followed without any incident, besides that time at lunch where Izuku nearly got crushed by a stampede of seniors, sophomores, and his classmates alike. Hero training followed with a formal classroom lecture, with no tests or combatives involved. Many groaned at the lack of an intense training session. After all it would have been a good way to decompress from what happened earlier, but they were quickly silenced by Vegeta. Once the school day was done, Izuku made the journey to Mount Paozu to further hone his skills. Perhaps Vegeta knew more about what was going on since he was a faculty member.

Of course that would have to wait once their brutal sparring was over, more for the student rather than the master. Each match only surged with intensity as Vegeta would strike with nearly untraceable speed. Izuku stayed on the defense from his master's blows as the two exercised their abilities on the grassy plains.

"Your cowardice is pathetic! If you can't even stand up to a childhood bully, what hope do you have to defeat a villain?" Izuku heard from behind as he felt Vegeta's elbow pierce his back.

The reminder ignited a spark of ire in Izuku as he swung around to deliver a left hook, but with little effort into it. This enabled Vegeta to dodge the attack by sidestepping before delivering a roundhouse kick to his sides.

Izuku felt his master's kick nearly bend him in two before he met the ground. With adrenaline now pumping through his blood, he charged right at Vegeta as he winded up his left hand for a move that would surely gain the advantage of surprise.

Skidding to a stop, Izuku threw his hand forward with an open palm instead of a fist. At this range there was no way he would miss.

Only instead, nothing shot out of his hand, allowing Vegeta to grab Izuku's outstretched arm and slam him onto the grass.

"What the hell was that?!" Izuku winced as he saw his master's disapproivng face upside-down, before getting back on his feet, barely able to look him in the eye after his embarrassing attempt at a new move. "Were you so lacking in your training that you forgot the basic concept of a punch?"

Izuku ran his hand through his hair to dust the combination of grass and dirt, "I was just trying to channel my ki."

"What?"

"My ki," Izuku clarified with a shaking voice. "I want to fire laser blasts like you do! During my match with Kacchan, he had the advantage of using ranged attacks while all I could do was basic hand-to-hand."

Vegeta pinched his brow in frustration. "You're telling me that you have trouble harnessing your energy until the worst moments possible, and now you want to fire ki blasts?! We haven't even covered your flight training yet!"

"I know it looks like I'm rushing through, but if I have ki, I want to do the same thing you, Goku, and the Z Fighters do!"

This only deepened his master's frown. "The only reason we are able to use our abilities as we do is because we took the time to actually focus on using ki!"

"What do you mean?"

Vegeta sighed and walked a few meters from Izuku before he stopepd. "The true source of ki is within the spirit you can only use it when you learn to harness it, observe."

Vegeta brought his hand out and shot a yellow orb at a rock nearby, demolishing it in pieces.

"What you saw what a physical manifestation for that projectile. Now look again."

Vegeta aimed at another rock, except this time, a nearly invisible orb shot instead from his hand and still reduced it to rubble

"What- how?"

"I still used my energy, but in different ways. Think of that the next time you even think of attempting this."

Izuku nodded. "Yes master!"

"Good, that will be enough of today's training" Vegeta said.

"But wait!" Izuku said in disbelief. "That's it?"

"Tomorrow will be a very busy day," Vegeta answered, not even turning to look at him. "Make sure you are prepared."

Izuku partly covered his face when his master took to the air and into the sky. With new resolve, he gathered his belongings to head home.

Wednesday came around and Izuku sat in his desk as he paid attention to Iida and Yaoyorozu's announcement following lunch. Though the incident regarding the press somehow making it into school grounds has now passed, there were still tensions present as he could tell that many of his classmates were shaken to the core. Add being nearly trampled by their fellow peers too.

"Now I know what you're all thinking and I understand your concern," Iida began. "Somehow, the crowd of reporters from this morning managed to make it past the barrier, triggering the alarm. Right now not everyone has all the answers, so please calm yourselves and have faith that the staff will get to the bottom of this."

Izuku remembered seeing Iida fly up above the door, with Uraraka's help of course, and preventing all the students present from any further panic. Even the more senior students were willing to listen to someone so new to the school, yet have the qualifications of a leader. He knew he made the right choice in allowing Iida this privilege.

"Thank you Iida," Sensei Aizawa said, all cuddled up in his sleeping bag. "To add to that, your initial reaction to the alarm was abysmal and that goes for all the students present. Just because there is a panic doesn't give you the excuse to blindly follow what's around you, it's fortunate that no one was seriously injured. Assess the situation and pass it onto others so that everyone gets a clearer idea on what's happening. Class presidents, go take your seats." Izuku gave a small nod in gratitude to Iida who returned the gesture with kindness as he and Yaoyorozu returned to their desks.

"Today's going to be a little different. Myself, Vegeta, and another hero will be monitoring all of you for a special type of training." Sensei Aizawa brought out a card labeled 'RESCUE'. "This will be crucial in handling disasters, floods, you get the point. "The sudden news were greeted with excited talk from the students.

"Guess it's gonna be another rough day if Sensei Vegeta's a part of it," Kaminari said with half of enthusiasm.

"This is exactly what I signed up for!" Kirishima exclaimed. "Bring it on!"

"Did you say flood training? Ribbit. I'll be right at home."

"Hold on, I'm not done yet." the Sensei hushed, bringing out a remote to summon the costumes belonging to each student. "The training site is not on the main campus, so we'll be heading there by bus. In the meantime, suit up. I'll meet you outside."

The soon-to-be heroes began to flock over to retrieve their costumes, exhilarated to put don them for today's training. The thought of learning from the best about saving lives reminded Izuku of all the videos he used to watch on his mother's computer. The news reports showing innocent lives in danger were always enough to make Izuku's blood run cold no matter how much he got used to them, helpless over the fact that there was nothing he could do even before he received his news from the doctor. It was always the sight of heroes swooping in to save the day that reassured him that everything was going to be alright. Today, he and the rest of his peers were given that same blessing as part of their duty as the next generation.

Unfortunately, his costume was still in the process of repairs after the nearly disastrous battle training. For now, he was clad in his gym clothes except for an extra pair of white gloves reminiscent of those worn by his master. He didn't receive word from Vegeta of what he thought of his costume. There had to be a chance that he liked it. Inspiration came from both of Izuku's favorite heroes.

As he made his way to the bus, Izuku puffed out some air to instill at least some sense of confidence in himself. Pure luck and wit were not going to be enough today.

"Everyone line up in a single file according to your student number and take your seat! Let's see some organization!" Iida said in a booming voice, followed by the students obeying his command with much reluctance.

"Wow, Iida's really taking his role seriously," Uraraka pointed out as she stayed beside Izuku. "It'd be funny seeing you up there."

Izuku gave a short chuckle at her playful jab. As he was one of the last to enter, Izuku took a seat between Asui in her green skintight suit and Sato who wore a similar garment save for a mask covering most of his face. Iida, who was sitting across the latter, looked like he was in absolute despair.

"I should have known that we weren't using a regular school bus! My directions were pointless!"

The sight of their class president amused many. Izuku didn't find the unexpected predicament too much of a surprise. He felt the bus ascend before he could feel it moving through the campus, wherever their training was it was indeed far.

"I tend to be upfront on what I need to say Midoriya," Asui said much to Izuku's surprise.

"Oh really? What's on your mind Asui?"

"It's Tsu." She said with a blunt tone.

Izuku laughed off his embarrassment of forgetting his new friend's self-chosen nickname. "R-right, sorry again."

"The quirk you got, it reminds me of Vegeta's don't you think?"

As the price for being so absentminded, Izuku could barely come up with an excuse as he began to sputter whatever came up at the top of his head. The blank expression from Tsu only assisted in his flustering.

"Now hold on a minute," Kirishima chimed. "All Midoriya has is super strength. Vegeta, on the other hand, can fly and shoot all kinds of laser beams." He finished by extending his palm out to demonstrate his point.

"Wouldn't you say the same about the rest of the Z Fighters though?" Tsu responded. "They have the same quirk after all."

"Yeah, but it's what they do with it that makes them so unique! Goku's Kamehameha, Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon, Krillin's Destructo Disc, Vegeta's Final Flash, there's so much you could do with the Ki quirk!" Kirishima's forearm then transformed into a solid piece of rock. "I can't say the same for my Hardening though. All it does is make me stronger and a lot harder to take down than a normal person. It's nothing too impressive."

Though confidence boomed in the redhead, Izuku could hear an inkling of despondency. "I think your quirk's actually amazing Kirishima! I bet there's a lot more you could do with it that'll make you stand out as a pro!"

"Really Midoriya? Thanks, I'll take your word for it!"

"My Navel Laser is both powerful and flashy enough for a pro. It will no doubt be legendary," Aoyama said with his hands cupping each side of his face.

"Legendary because of its power or the fact that it gives you a stomachache every time you use it?" Ashido asked, making a few of the fellow passengers laugh while the blonde's face turned red despite his smile that was always present.

"If you wanna talk about strong and cool, Bakugo and Todoroki would definitely fall under that," Kirishima said as he gestured toward the two.

"Todoroki's too dull to be popular," Tsu added. "And Bakugo's got a nasty temper with that destructive quirk of his."

That was enough to make the blonde nearly jump out of his seat out of blind rage, making Jiro slightly inch away from him to focus on her cell phone that was attached to one of her earphone jacks. "What the hell did you say to me? Get closer so I can hear you real good!"

"It's kind of funny how we've only known you for a week yet already figured out that your personality is like steamy crap mixed with garbage," Kaminari said in a heckling tone which only enraged Kacchan further.

This was enough for Izuku to question the very nature of reality, Kacchan was the top dog back in middle school, but here at U.A., it was as if the entire world started to spin the other way around. Even Uraraka was straight up laughing at the exchange.

Fortunately, their teacher heard the commotion as well, "Hey enough. We're here," Sensei Aizawa said followed by the student's acknowledgment save for Kacchan's resent.

Izuku sighed in relief that the atmosphere had returned to normal as he exited the bus to be met with a gigantic domed building. The class was escorted through the entrance by their teacher to be met with an exhilarating sight. There were six areas of near gargantuan sizes, all with a different aesthetic to it. A figure resembling an astronaut stood at the top of the stairs leading down into the central area. Izuku recognized the hero as Thirteen, well known in search and rescue operations that have placed her in various countries worldwide thanks to her efficiency. Uraraka seemed to be familiar of the hero as well, obvious by her jumping excitedly up and down.

"Welcome everyone!" The Space Hero greeted. "Behind me, you can see every kind of disaster imaginable represented by their respective zones. I designed this myself as the Unforeseen Simulation Joint!"

"Don't mistake this as some amusement park for fun and games," A familiar booming voice said from above. "Lax on this training and the blood of every innocent you lose will be on your hands."

Izuku gazed in admiration as Vegeta descended until he stood between Sensei Aizawa and Thirteen. The Symbol of Peace was clad in his Golden Age attire, a dark blue spandex suit adorned with the colors of red, white, and blue in honor of the United States of America.

"That's an... interesting way of putting it," Thirteen said with an awkward laugh. "Before we all begin, can one of you inform your classmates about my quirk?"

A number of hands shot up, but it was Izuku's who went up first out of unquenchable excitement. After Thirteen chose him, he answered. "Black hole! With the tip of a finger, Thirteen can create a vacuum that can tear apart anything in her path. It's perfect for cleaning up all kinds of debris!"

"That's true Midoriya!" Thirteen praised. "But one thing I can add to that is that my quirk can also suck in people too."

There were no cheers this time, allowing the space hero to continue. "We are all very fortunate to live in a time of peace, but there also came a heavy price to earn it. Remember, it only takes one wrong move, no matter how noble it may be, to cause irreparable damage. That's why we have the quirk regulation laws based on these three lessons U.A. wanted to teach you. Your Sensei Aizawa helped you find your hidden potential in his assessment test. Vegeta showed you how dangerous your quirks can pose to others in his battle training. None of your powers are meant to harm others. That's why I'm going to help you today to help others. That's the true way a hero should be."

Izuku clenched his fists to hold back his excitement, swearing they were almost as white as his gloves. Many of his peers gave Thirteen a small round of applause, rewarded with the hero giving a small bow. Out of the rounded corner of his eye, he saw Vegeta take a step forward as if he wanted to add to the lecture until nearly all the light left the room.

Down at the fountain, a dark purple vortex took shape and a hand reached out of it. There were many hands in the void, all covering a mess of light blue hair and a red orb fixated on the group.

"Thirteen, Aizawa protect these students!" Vegeta roared. "I will deal with his foe!"

"They're my students too!" Aizawa retorted, his hair began to levitate and his eyes flashed a tint of crimson.

The figure with the hands that grasped him stepped out of the portal, and he was not alone. An army of villainous beings entered the grounds of the USJ uninvited. Their fearsome features reminded Izuku of the villain made of sludge. The look of blood in their eyes gave it all away.

"Uhh, is this part of the exercise?" Kirishima asked.

"Stay back! those are villains!" Aizawa commanded in a tone as sharp as a razor, equipping his yellow goggles.

"He's here," A poltergeist-like figure said with only sharp streaks of yellow for eyes said. "Just like the staff schedule said he would."

"What? How does he know about that?" Thirteen wondered aloud.

"They must've been responsible for the break-in yesterday," Aizawa responded.

The last figure to enter had to be the most fearsome of all. A V-shaped crown covered a living brain of a being that looked part human, part insect. At the end of its tail rested a mace larger than a person's head.

"Vegeta," The man with the disembodied hands hissed, sending a chill down Izuku's skin. At the call of his name, Izuku saw his mentor step forth to the edge of the stairs facing the motley crew of evil beings.

"As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted. What Thirteen said about using your powers is true, but that's only half of it." Vegeta said before turning to face them. "You were all born with a gift, a gift that did not make you inherently good or evil," He pointed at the villains, "What you have in common with this sorry lot is that you made a choice. A choice to make your society into what you want it to be. But what makes you different from these villains is that you chose to be the light in place of the darkness. For that is what a hero should be, helping others by harming those who will harm them!"

A shockwave of air from Vegeta's now glowing white figure echoed through the entire stadium, reaching the students and even the villains, nearly knocking them off their feet. A blinding light forced them to protect their eyes in fear of losing their vision, even Izuku. Once that light dissipated, he stared in absolute awe at what stood before him. The jet black in Vegeta's hair was now replaced with a bright yellow, his eyes now sporting teal instead of brown. Vegeta faced the villains once more.

"For that is why I am here. To teach all of you this lesson you shall never forget."

AN: Hello once again, here's another chapter after 7 months. Between that time was my college graduation, summer, the start of school, Halloween, and soon-to-be Thanksgiving. To say that an update is overdue is an understatement at best.

My advice for new fanfic writers is to start as soon as possible, start in high school or middle school even. Don't be like me, starting on my last year of undergraduate studies with a longfic at that.

Instead, start with short stories of any kind. You won't have to worry about the next 12 chapters down the line or the final ending to that story you've been working on for years.

That being said I hope you liked the chapter. The new Dragon Ball Super movie and the Legend Dragon Ball tale by Agent Mystery Meat gave me the inspiration to go back again. Now all is left for me to have the discipline to keep going.

Have a good one
