Disclaimer: We don't anyone in this or any other story, sad but true 

A/N: I would like to point out that I am not the only author of this fanfic. Shay and I wrote this together, and had tons of fun doing so. (She'd kill me if I didn't say that, plus she watches so much CSI that she could probably kill me and get away with it. whimper)

It was a slow, rainy night in Las Vegas, and Greg Sanders was bored. A light bulb singed on in his head. Perfect, he thought as a wide grin spread over his (beautiful) face. He was going to conquer his fear of heights. But there was no way he could do it alone. Hell no. But who could he ask? He drummed his fingers on the table. The answer came…"Grissom!"

He ran to his supervisor's office and skidded to a stop outside the door, gasping. Gil Grissom eyed him warily. "What is it, Greg?"

Greg grinned sheepishly, "I need your help."

Grissom sighed, rolling his eyes. He grudgingly said, "I'm almost afraid to ask with what."

"Skydiving!" Greg exclaimed, his eyes wide.

"Huh?"

"Ya know…jumping out of an airplane thousands of feet in the air, falling through the sky-" Greg froze. He repeated, mostly to himself, "Thousands of feet in the air…"

Grissom raised his eyebrows. "Why?" he asked warily. "Because," Greg began, "I've decided to not be scared of heights anymore."

Grissom frowned. "Why don't you start with something a little less – extreme?"

Greg pursed his lips, "Like what?"

Grissom's eyes gleamed. "Roller coasters."

"Hmm…" Greg ran his thumb across his chin. "A roller coaster? I could handle that."

Grissom peered at him with an odd look. A slow grin spread across Greg's face. "Great. How about Saturday, say at…noon?"

Grissom frowned, "I never said I'd go. Why don't you ask-"

"Sara!" Greg exclaimed. "She'd go with me!" he said.

"NO!" Grissom fairly shouted, not relishing the thought of Greg with Sara – period. "I'll-" he pinched the bridge of his nose, "I'll – I'll go," he conceded. "But only if you promise to go easy on the sugar and leave Sara alone."

Greg gave him a curious look but shrugged. "Done." He turned around to leave but stopped, "And, oh, Griss? Sorry if I throw up on you."

Greg hurried down the hall, leaving Grissom, nearly flabbergasted, before he called back to Greg, "Bring some asprin and a lotta water," he smirked.

Greg paled. "Next time I'll stick with pranks," he murmured under his breath.

…Saturday noon…

Greg stared in awe at the enormous roller coaster. Grissom tore off another piece of cotton candy and popped it into his mouth, savouring the sweet taste it offered. "Griss?"

"Hmm."

"How high do you think that goes?"

Grissom shrugged. The line moved up, Greg took a fateful step forward. Before he knew it he was sitting in the monster, run by a young carny. As the man checked that they were secure he said, "Hope you're not afraid of heights."

Greg yelped and tried to bolt from his seat, but Grissom clamped a hand on his shoulder. "You can't back out now, Greg. You're not a quitter." His ice-blue eyes burned a hole through him. "Are you?"

"Umm…umm…"

"Are you? Or aren't you?"

"Uhh, no."

They slowly began to move forward. "Good. Because you're too late to get off anyways."

Greg whimpered in response. Suddenly they burst forward, sending Greg's head flying back. Grissom merely smiled broadly – almost like he did when he found another creepie-crawlie to add to his collection.

"Ohhh…" Greg moaned and clutched his stomach after they reached the ground again. "Ohhhh, god. That was-"

Grissom grinned, "That bad, huh?"

"Exhilarating!" Greg whooped and laughed. "Let's go again!"
