Chapter 2: Meeting the Clan

When the movie finished, the four gargoyles, who watched the movie from the top part of the theater that is mostly empty, went outside on top of the roof. They flew off the edge of the building and went towards the clock tower so Lexington, Broadway, and Brooklyn and introduce Zelda to Goliath, Hudson, Angela, Bronx, and Elisa (if she is finished from detective/police duties for a while). Lexington noticed how Zelda was having second thoughts about the meeting of the other gargoyles. Her face told him that she was nervous and scared... but Lexington wasn't the only one who notices this either.

"Hey, it's going to be okay Zelda. Goliath, Hudson, Angela, and Bronx will be thrilled meeting you."

Brooklyn flew next to Zelda, trying to comfort her as best as he can.

"Yeah! You, Angela and Elisa would get along perfectly." Broadway smiled.

"Even Bronx would probably want to pet him and hang out with you more." Lexington chuckled lightly.

Zelda looked that them for a good minute before she gave them a smile of confidence.

"Thank you, for your kind and reassuring words. I really needed that."

The three male male gargoyles nodded at the same time and smiled back. Broadway and Lexington flew ahead of Zelda and Brooklyn, towards the clock tower. Brooklyn stayed with Zelda, so she won't feel nervous, scared, and to help her in anyway he can.

"If you need help with explaining your situation about your...clan, I can help you if you want me to and Broadway and Lexington can help also. But that's if you want us to though."

Zelda was surprised but nodded with a smile.

"Thank you Brooklyn. I appreciate your guys help."

Brooklyn nodded with a smile as well... and blushed a bit. Zelda notices and laughs lightly.

~~~~~ { At the Clock Tower } ~~~~~
Inside the clock tower, Hudson is still watching TV while Bronx is still napping next to him. Goliath and Angela are talking about what is taking the trio and where else they could possibly be at.
"Hmm... They are taking longer then they usually do during their trips or patrols. I wonder where else those three could flying or patrolling at." Goliath grunted, with his eyes closed and arms crossed.
"They could be still patrolling around the city... or still at the theaters." Angela suggested, reassuring Goliath.
The sound of something or someone landing on the balcony of the clock tower distracted Hudson from the TV and saw shadows of the trio outside, but he could've also sworn that he saw another shadow with the trio as well.
"Why don't you ask them yourself Goliath."
Goliath and Angela turned towards the entrance as Brooklyn, Lexington, and Broadway entered the clock tower. Angela noticed someone else outside, standing a bit away from the entrance in fear.
"Is someone else with you guys?"
The trio panicked when they saw Goliath's face darkened a bit. Brooklyn quickly went outside to whoever it is that was standing outside and slowly held out his hand with a reassuring smile. When the person or creature took his hand, Brooklyn guided that person inside the clock tower. Angela gasped while Hudson, who all the sudden stood up from the green chair, and Goliath's eyes widen with great surprise and shock at what they are seeing before them.
... Another gargoyle, a female one.
"Goliath, Hudson and Angela, this is Zelda. We meet her at the movie theater. She's a bit shy and nervous."
Brooklyn introduced while walking towards the other gargoyles, who are still shocked.
When they stopped within arms reach in front of Goliath, Hudson and Angela and Brooklyn slowly let Zelda's hand go but stood next to her. She felt more nervous and a bit more scared that she went behind Brooklyn a bit. Goliath notices this and softens his face with a small smile as Brooklyn reassures her that it'll be okay.
"Don't ne afraid, I won't harm you."
Zelda looked at Goliath and nodded as she walked from behind Brooklyn to in front of Goliath til she is a five feet away. Since he is taller than her, she had to look up to have a better look at his face.
"My name is Goliath, leader of this clan. This is Hudson and Angel, my daughter."
Bronx woke up by the noise and saw turned to see Zelda. He got up and walked up to her, sniffing at her feet and leg a bit. This gesture made her nervous a bit more then before. Brooklyn held her again and told her that Bronx is okay and that he is just sniffing her since she is new. This made Zelda feel less scared but not the nervousness. After Bronx stopped he... barked? at her with a happy smile. The other gargoyles chuckled at the scene before them.
"And this fellow is Bronx and he seems to take a quick liking towards you Zelda."
Brooklyn smiled and laughed a bit.
"I agree with Brooklyn lass, this means that you must be special." Hudson said, as he stood next to Brooklyn.
Zelda wanted to pet Bronx but a shy to do it. He seemed to have noticed when he started to beg her to pet him. Brooklyn nudged her lightly and encouraged her to. She slowly laid her hand on top of Bronx's head and petted him. He leaned closer to her hand as she started to pet him more. Zelda soon smiled and laughed a bit. Everyone smiled at the scene too.
"Okay Bronx, that's enough." Hudson said as he walked over to Bronx and signaling him to stop.
Bronx whined a first but obeyed.
"He really must like you." Angela teased.
"Umm... Hehe, I guess he does." Zelda blushed and nervously said.
"So Zelda, where did you come from?" Angela asked in curiosity, while standing next to her and Brooklyn.
Zelda looked at her on whether to tell her to truth or not. But she decided to tell the truth.
"I actually live here in Manhattan, New York City. I've been here since I can remember."
Everyone stared at her with shocked faces. Zelda lived in Manhattan and they never even saw her?!
"But.. if you lived here, why didn't we see you?"
Zelda panicked for a second when Angela asked that question but quickly covered it up.
"I.. I was flying around the city but probably not in the same areas that you guys go."
Brooklyn can tell that she is lying. He saw her panicked look when Angela asked that question... but he won't say anything til she is ready to tell them the truth on her own. He also told himself to ask her about it sometime in the future.
"Really? Hmm, we probably missed each other."
Angela suggested and laughed. Soon Zelda and everyone laughed with Angela.
"Is there more of you?" Goliath asked, after he stopped laughing along with everyone else.
Zelda was hesitant to answer the question. Brooklyn saw that she was having a hard time to answer, so he answered for her.
"She told us that she lives on her own."
Goliath, Hudson, and Angela's faces saddened a bit when Brooklyn helped answered Zelda's question. But soon, Goliath's face softened a bit when he was in deep thought.
'She must have suffered of being alone without no one...Hmm..'
Then he asked another question that he wanted to ask.
"Zelda, please join our clan. That way you can no longer be alone."
"Yeah Zelda! We can hang out as girls hang out." Angela beamed with excitement.
Lexington, Broadway, and Hudson nodded with agreement with smiles on their faces while Bronx barked in agreement as well. Zelda was surprised with the sudden request but smiled as she was thinking about it. She felt someone lay a hand on her shoulder softly and looked up and saw that it was Brooklyn.
"Please consider on joining us Zelda. Like Goliath said, that way you don't have to be alone, you'll have friends but most importantly, a family. We'll be there for each other in everyway we can... I promise to be there for you in every step of the way to help you."
Brooklyn slightly blushed on the last part.
Zelda stared into his eyes and also blushed. After thinking over about the offer, she smiled and gave her answer.
"I also promise to help in the best way I can and to be there too."
"Does that mean-"
"Yes, I'll join you and your family."
Brooklyn couldn't help but smile and hug her in excitement. Zelda was shocked for a second before she started to smile again and hugged him back. Soon Lexington, Broadway and Angela went to hug them. They were in a group hug with smiles on their faces. Even Bronx was in the group hug too! Goliath and Hudson were the only two that weren't in the group hug but they smiled in happiness and joy that they have a new member in the Manhattan Clan. But they still have someone else for Zelda to met, Elisa Maza
Eventually, they did introduced her to Elisa. At first, Zelda got very scared when she saw that Elisa was a human. But the other gargoyles reassured her that Elisa in the most and only trustworthy human companion and friend they have in the clan. They also explained to Zelda how she has keep their identities a secret for a while without anyone being suspicious. When Zelda and Elisa started to get to know more of each other, Zelda was not longer scared anymore but they become good friends.
