Chapter 7
Naruto woke up and just lay there, Helena pressed against his back, and he didn't want to wake her up. For the first time, Naruto felt normal. He found someone who understands his pain. He loved Thea, but he had a lot in common with Helena. But this idyll did not last long. He felt Helena get out of bed and leave the room. It didn't take a genius to figure out where she was going. Naruto decided to give her 5 minutes and went after her.
In the other place
Helena aimed her gun at the members of the Chinese Triad. At that moment, when she began to pull the trigger, Naruto jumped from the roof of the building behind which she was hiding and took the gun aside so that she would not hit Chien Na Wei. After being shot, the Triad members fired back and quickly got into the cars to hoot. Naruto and Helena changed cover; Naruto also covered Helena with his body until the Triad fled in cars.
When the Triad left, Helena pushed Naruto away from her, after which he removed his mask.
"Get your hands off me!" - she called to Naruto.
"What the hell are you doing?!" - Naruto replied in the same tone.
"The head of the Triad was there. The father blames them for the recent attacks on his people." - Helena replied.
"You want to set the Triad on your father so that they kill each other?" - Naruto asked, understanding her plan. - "You want to avenge Michael, but what you propose will lead to war. Innocent people will suffer. And then everyone will want revenge."
"And what do you suggest? Just forget everything? Well, I do not!" - Helena replied.
"I'll show you another way." - Naruto replied and held out his hand to Helena, she doubted at first, but nevertheless decided to try and took his hand.
Big belly burger
Naruto and Helena were in their regular clothes at Big Belly Burger when their order was brought to them.
"Look, we slept together, and it was great and necessary, but I'm not expecting anything." - Helena said and took a sip of hot coffee. - "And whatever you say, you can't judge me. I've seen you kill."
I don't deny it. But the problem is how you do it. Too much noise and more chance of innocent people getting hurt. Like my mom and you too. Naruto replied, taking a sip of coffee.
Sorry about that. Helena apologized sincerely and averted her eyes from Naruto.
Maybe in another universe, someone is sitting in my place and trying to dissuade you from this, but it's definitely not me. Naruto continued.
"Then what do you want?" - Helena asked, interested in his words.
"Train you. Don't get me wrong, you are good at fighting and shooting, but you still have a lot to learn." - Naruto replied. - "And if you want to do it more efficiently, then what you are doing I can help you."
"What do you want in return?" - Helena asked, she knew he wouldn't help her just like that.
"What I do I can't do alone, and I need a partner." - Naruto confessed. - "I'm not pushing you, Helena. Go home, think it over, and tomorrow I will come to you, and you will tell me your answer."
They finished their coffee and then parted ways.
The next day
Bertinelli residence.
Naruto walked up to Helena's house and rang the doorbell, where a woman with tearful eyes had stepped out a moment ago.
"Frank." - Naruto said, shaking his hand. - "I'm sorry for dropping in unannounced."
"No, no, come in. It's all right." - Frank said. - "We just lost a relative."
"Accept my condolences." - Naruto said, walking into the house and looking at Helena.
"Thanks." - Frank answered. - "If you're talking about a contract, then I confess I screwed up. And then there's such a misfortune."
"Actually, I'm not here to discuss business." - Naruto replied, looking at Helena with a smile on her face, who looked back with a smile on her face. Frank looked from one to the other, and it dawned on him.
"Oh, good." - he said with a smile. - "Well, that's the kind of fusion that I won't interfere with. Forgive me, honey. Father knows when he's not needed."
He joked, leaving the two of them in the foyer. Helena descended the stairs, approached him, and folded her arms defiantly over her chest.
"I've thought about your offer." - Helena replied.
"And what did you decide?" - Naruto asked even though he already knew the answer.
Arrow Lair
Naruto stood next to Helena, who held his bow in her hands. She drew back her bowstring and prepared to fire.
"Relax. Relax, breathe and shoot." - Naruto helped Helena. Helena fired an arrow that missed its target, crashing into something fragile behind the target.
"It's a waste of time." - Helena growled in frustration.
"I'm trying to teach you." - Naruto repeated patiently.
"What, the least effective way to shoot people?"
"No, control and precision." - Naruto took his bow back. - "To use a bow and arrow as effectively as it is more effective than a weapon requires patience, discipline, control."
In one quick movement, he pulled an arrow from his quiver and fired, hitting the bull's-eye.
Helena looked at him with admiration, and went to the worktable, on which there were many different things. She took the coffee mug and tossed it. Naruto quickly reacted and shot her, pinning her against the wall. Then she took the butter dish and tossed it up. The result was the same. Then she took a tennis ball in her hand and Naruto shot it with an arrow when it was on Helena's arm. The ball was nailed to the pipe with an arrow. She stared at him, unwittingly impressed.
"I can do this all day." - Naruto said with a smile as he approached her.
"I love hardy men." - she quipped.
"Our crusades do have something in common." - he said, sitting down next to her and pulling an old notebook out of his pants pocket. - "Mine also started with my father. He left me a list of people who need to be reminded that Starling City is not theirs to take."
"Anthony Venza is here." - Helena noticed this with surprise. - "He works for my father. He sells illegal prescription pills."
She was going through the list when another woman in a black suit entered the room.
"Lyla, this is Helena." - Naruto said to his bodyguard as Lila entered. She didn't look surprised by Helena's presence. - "Lyla is my, uh... Ally."
"Well, any Naruto partner is my friend."
"It's mutual." – Lyla nodded. - "Do you mind if I distract Naruto for a couple of minutes?"
Helena looked at Lyla, then back at Naruto.
"I leave you... to ally." - she said to Nathan, standing up and walking past Lyla.
"Are you sure what you're doing?" - Lyla asked after Helena left.
"Lyla, if you don't like something, I don't hold you." - Naruto replied. - "But we both understand that you will stay. Otherwise, Mandy will not leave you alone."
Lyla couldn't believe Naruto was calling her boss Mandy. No one but him would probably get away with it. But he was right that Amanda Waller would not let her live in peace if she refused this mission.
"Okay, you're right. But think about how you explain to Thea why you're working with the woman that nearly killed your mom." - Lyla said leaving. This made Naruto think.
Arrow Lair
The next day
Helena returned to the lair again and smiled at Naruto.
"Where is your girlfriend?" - she asked.
"Today it's just the two of us." - Naruto replied.
"Oh really? What are you up to?" - she asked with a smile as she approached him.
"Practical lesson." - Naruto replied, he liked Helena's smile
"Are we going for Anthony Venza?" - she asked with awareness.
"Yes." - Naruto replied. - "But we do it on my terms. Your father is losing part of his organization, but no innocents will be harmed in the process."
He nodded towards a large wooden box on the table.
"What is it?" - she asked as she approached the box with Naruto.
"I explained to you that a pistol is a capricious and unpredictable weapon, and since a bow does not suit you, I found something in between."
She opened the lid and saw that inside the box, on a bed of dark purple silk, was a small crossbow.
"I like it." - she said.
"You also need to change your costume." - Naruto noticed, and Helena smiled at him.
"For what? Do you have a spare hood? - she joked. They went to the computer and launched a special program. She looked at the design shown on the screen. - "Does it come in purple?"
Naruto pressed a couple of keys and the computer showed them what Helena wanted.
"I like purple." - She said to Naruto, smiling at him.
Stock
Later
Dozens of people were busy repackaging prescription pills for sale on the streets. Many of them did, most likely not of their own free will.
"It's not crack." - said Anthony Venza, showing his employee a bag of pills. - "Any idiot can sell crack. All you need is a street corner and a hoodie. This is pharmaceutical grade oxycodone. This is caviar. This is champagne. And you sell it in fashion houses, at parties with rich kids who have money to burn through."
But suddenly the light went out. He looked at one of his guards.
"Check it!" - he ordered. The man drew his pistol and cautiously climbed the stairs to the second level. A moment later, the sound of impacts was heard, after which the man's pistol flew down and landed on the floor next to Venza. He raised his pistol and looked around.
"Whoever you are, do you really think you'll make it out of here unscathed?"
"I wanted to ask the same thing." - The demonic voice replied.
Venza looked up and saw the vigilante standing on the top floor.
"Anthony Venza…" Naruto began. Then Venza saw something move out of the corner of his eye and turned to see a woman dressed in a black and purple body armor, long coat and mask with a crossbow pistol, her hair blowing in the wind.
"You have failed this city." - She finished.
Naruto fired a flashbang arrow. Blinding and stunning criminals for a few seconds. This gave Naruto and Helena time to start attacking the criminals. Venza, seeing that his men were losing, decided that it would be better to run away, but Helena noticed this. He ran to the door and was about to open it when an arrow from a crossbow hit it. He turned slowly and saw a woman with a crossbow pointed at him.
"Don't hit me!" - he pleaded.
"Not." - Helena bowed her head, an evil smile on her lips. - "Maybe a little?"
A few minutes later, Naruto and Helena watched from the rooftop as Venzu and his men were led towards the police vehicles. Naruto and Helena looked at each other.
"Millions of dollars worth of illegal drugs confiscated, a huge blow to your father's criminal organization, and no casualties. Justice." - Naruto said. - "What do you think?"
"I think... I like it." - she said after a short pause. - "And not just justice."
They both leaned in to kiss.
Bertinelli Residence
1 hour later
Frank Bertinelli sat in the bar of his house, drinking scotch and watching the news.
"Anthony Venza was arrested last night. Police have confiscated a warehouse full of prescription drugs estimated to cost millions on the street. Several unconfirmed witnesses reported seeing the Starling City vigilante leave the scene with another unknown accomplice, possibly a woman." - the news anchor said.
Frank was angry, he finished his whiskey, and then threw his glass over the counter, breaking it.
Helena entered the room and slowly approached her father.
"Bad year? I mean scotch." - the daughter asked her father.
"Yes, sorry." he replied wearily, taking her hand in his and kissing it. - "Sorry, another loss in business."
He leaned back and looked at his daughter.
"Wow. You look wonderful." - he remarked. - "Naruto Queen?"
She nodded at his question with a smile on her face.
"It's nice to see you happy again. It's been too long."
Frank's cell phone rang. Sighing, he answered.
"Yes?" - Frank answered, hearing a voice on the other end of the wire, he turned away from his daughter. - "Yes. Yes, I heard about Venza. Yes, I know what is leaving us!"
He put the phone on the counter and turned to follow his daughter. He couldn't see the smile on her face.
At the same time at the Queen's residence
After Felicity showed Naruto and Walter the sheet with the incomprehensible symbol, they both recognized it but didn't show it. And so now Walter was going to accompany Moira to the Board of Directors meeting of the Museum of Modern Art while the Naruto clone searched for the notebook with that symbol.
As soon as the car with Moira and Walter left, Naruto began to search. He searched most of his mother's room until he noticed the reflection on the grandfather clock's pendulum. He took out the box with that image and opened it. There was the same notebook as his. The clone knew the original wouldn't like it.
In front of the restaurant.
Naruto and Helena were approaching a restaurant where they wanted to have dinner with Helena. But as he approached, he saw Tommy and Laurel enter the restaurant. He knew that nothing good would come of it. And then he remembered that he had recently seen an advertisement for a new film.
"Helena, I understand that we had dinner plans, but can we change them up a bit?" - Naruto asked.
"Something happened?" - Helena asked, a little nervous.
"Not. It's just that I'm almost sure that we won't be able to sit normally in a restaurant so that someone doesn't bother us with questions." - Naruto replied, walking up to Helen and wrapping his arms around her waist. - "And they will interfere with my time with my charming girlfriend."
"Hm. And what do you propose?" - Helena asked, putting her arm around his neck.
"Buy popcorn, soda and watch a movie. There's a new movie in theaters right now." - Naruto replied.
"So act like an ordinary couple in love?"
"Yes."
"I don't mind, but on the condition that I choose the seats."
"Excellent."
Five minutes later, they were riding in a taxi towards the cinema, which was showing the film "Avengers".
After two and a half hours, they left the cinema cheerful and satisfied. They were both relaxed for the first time in a long time. After that, they drove to Naruto's loft.
The next day
Naruto's lair
Naruto and Helena put on their costumes and prepared to cross Frank's name out of their notebook. Naruto had to turn to Chien Na Wei again, and she was happy to help him.
Bertinelli Residence
Naruto and Helena were in ambush from outside the mansion. When the triad started attacking Bertinelli's men, they waited for Frank to escape. They didn't have to wait long.
Frank was running past the pond on the grounds of his mansion. But suddenly he felt incredible pain in his leg and fell. He rolled over onto his back and saw that an arrow was sticking out of his leg, and a girl with a crossbow and in a purple cloak, but she was not wearing a mask, was approaching him. It was the daughter.
"Helena? What is it?" - asked the surprised Frank.
"Pay. For Michael." - Helena replied, reloading her crossbow. "Salvati told me the truth. Now you will understand what it means to lose everything."
Frank grabbed the gun from his ankle, but it was knocked out by an arrow, after which the Vigilante appeared next to Helena.
"You are the father of the year, Frank. Trying to kill your daughter." - said the Vigilante in a demonic voice.
Helena was shocked that he wanted to kill her. That was the last straw, she took the katana from Naruto's back and walked over to her father. In one quick movement, it pierced his heart. Then she fell to her knees and cried.
Naruto's lair
Three later
Naruto and Lyla were returning with groceries when they heard the noise of a fight. Threw food they ran into the training room and saw a fight between Thea and Helena. Both girls were covered in cuts and bruises. Naruto and Lyla stood between the girls and tried to calm them down.
But suddenly another Naruto joined them.
"Looks like it's going to be a long night." - Naruto said, seeing the stunned faces of Thea and Helena.
