Scene 2: Rain On Me

(Knock Knock Knock)

Aoko blinked, looking accusingly at the TV. It couldn't have been her door, seeing as it was too late for anyone other than her dad to be knocking, and he usually never even bothers to knock.

(Knock Knock Knock)

She stood and went to the door, sure that it was hers this time and glanced out the window. Three things came to her mind then, one that it was late, not very late but too late for normal visitors. Two, it was pouring outside, and three, she was alone and unarmed. She walked up to the door and called through it, "Who is it?"

"It's me." Aoko sighed at Kaito's familiar voice, partially from relief and partially from annoyance. "Can you come out and play?"

Puzzled, and knowing he was up to something, she said, "Are you crazy?"

"Depends on who you're talking to."

"Kaito, it's pouring outside. I don't even know why you're out there."

There was silence on the other side of the door, Kaito no doubt was trying to think of something to do to get her outside.

"Don'tcha remember what my dad used to always say?"

Aoko was vaguely amused, "No, what'd he always say?"

"He told me that life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

Aoko was silent, contemplating.

"I'm already soaked, so you might as well come out and join me."

Aoko sighed, laughing at herself, she knew he'd won. When she opened the door she was treated to the sight of Kaito, drenched like he said he was, his hair plastered to his forehead, he held out his hand for her to take. "Wanna dance?"

OMAKE:

Kaito and Aoko in the middle of her driveway, soaked from rainwater.

Kaito: "You know, it's too bad you're not wearing a white shirt..."

Thissoon turns into a mop-chase in the rain.
