The results were in for the Provisional exam. The answers to those who passed were listed, bit by bit students found their names.
"I...I did it..." Izuku said, finding his name. "I...actually passed! Holy-"
"IZUKU!" Mayday leapt to hug the boy. "You did it Izuku! You got your license! I'm so freaking proud of you!"
"Uh, thanks," Izuku said, blushing from the contact. "Uh...did you pass too?"
"Who me? Yeah, but that was a given," Mayday said. "I'm more happy for you. I mean, your dream's coming true! And now, we can be heroes together!"
"Yeah, together," Izuku said, joy emanating in his heart. "I did it...I made it one step closer!" He then felt a kiss on his cheek, courtesy of the girl beside him. "M-Mayday!"
"Heh, I couldn't help it. Call that a congratulatory kiss, there's plenty more where that came from too. Anyway, I'm gonna go text my dad," Mayday said as she grabbed her phone, but not without turning to the crowd. "Wonder who else in our class passed this thing?"
"Call me a hero!" Mineta shouted in glee.
"I actually did it," Jiro said in relief.
"There I am," a happy Tenya said.
"Good..." Shouji said.
"I'm on the board!" Ochako happily shouted.
"Thank goodness for me," a relieved Sero said, both Oujiro and Tokoyami also seeming relieved to see their names listed.
"Magnifique!" Yuga said.
"Oh God, I did it!" Sato was happy to say.
"Yeah!" Mina cheered, Koda also looking visibly happy.
"Another small step to being a pro," Momo said.
"Ribbit!" a happy Tsuyu croaked.
"I passed! I passed!" Toru shouted in excitement.
"Totally nailed it!" Kaminari boasted.
"I'm gonna be a Pro Hero!" Flurry gleefully announced.
"Yeah, right on!" Kirishima said, then noticed something disappointing and worrying. He could see Bakugo seething in anger, the boy unable to see his name on the screen.
"Why isn't my name up there?" Bakugo angrily muttered.
"No...Yoarashi?" Inasa said, unable to find his name. He lowered his cap in shame. "I failed..."
Shoto himself seemed disappointed that he didn't pass, feeling shame and guilt over it, something Izuku noticed. "Did Todoriki fail the exam?"
Flurry had made her way over to the boy, she too noticed his name wasn't on there, and deep down it really disappointed her that he didn't pass. "Shoto..."
The boy looked away in shame, unable to face Flurry for some reason. "Why does it bother me that she sees my failure?"
"Todoroki!" Inasa shouted, getting his attention.
Flurry stood close to Shoto, worried that Inasa would make a bad scene out of this, while Shoto was just curious as to what he had to say.
Suddenly Inasa bowed too hard, slamming his head on the ground, "I'm sorry! It's my fault you didn't pass! My focus was too narrow minded! Forgive me!"
Shoto turned away in sadness, Flurry immediately placing her hand on his back, trying to work her quirk, to which the boy denied.
"Thanks Flurry, but I don't feel up to your quirk, I have to let this sink in naturally," Shoto said.
"Oh, sure, that's fine," Flurry said.
"For too long, I tried ignoring that I'm my father's son, but ignoring my past won't help me become a hero," Shoto focused on Inasa. "Don't be sorry, I'm the one who got us off to a bad start."
"But still..." Inasa said.
"It's thanks to you actually that I have a lot to think about," Shoto said.
"Holy crap, did he actually fail?" Mina asked.
"I can't believe two of our top classmates actually failed," Sero said.
"I knew you should have been more careful, Bakugo," Kaminari said, his classmate's anger immediately making him regret it.
"I will kill you slowly and painfully if you don't watch it," Bakugo warned.
"Oh come off it Katsuki," Flurry said. "You were very rude during the rescue exercise, why are you so surprised that you failed!? What did you think was gonna happen!?"
"Go fuck yourself, Princess!" Bakugo said, getting Flurry irate.
"You know what! Screw you! I'm glad you failed! You don't deserve to be a hero!" Flurry shouted.
"Whoa! Take it easy!" Kirishima said. "You don't want to start a fight, do you?"
"Yeah, whatever," Flurry said, taking her leave. "Bad as Shoto failing was, it's suck even more if Katsuki passed in his place, so there's some justice in the world."
"Those at the top think they're so much better," Mineta said, glancing at Shoto. "Looks like the hierarchy is collapsing."
"Minoru, enough," Flurry warned, startling Mineta. "This is hard enough on Shoto, don't make this worse!"
"I agree," Tenya said. "Let us try to be sensitive about this."
"Right, sorry Flurry, I didn't mean to upset you," Mineta said.
"It's not me you should be worried about upsetting!" Flurry shouted, Mineta getting even more freaked out. Upon realizing her temper, she took a moment to calm herself, not wanting to upset her friend. She knelt beside the boy, placing her hand on his shoulder, the small teen blushing from the contact. "Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy for you Minoru, but I like a guy who's humble in his victory, I don't want another arrogant...arrogant...dickhead!" Flurry shouted, surprising everyone, as Flurry is usually much more composed. "Sorry daddy, I can't help but say certain words right now."
"It's so rare seeing her this mad, Todoroki failing must be really hard on her, and Bakugo being a jerk certainly isn't helping," Mineta observed, then focused on Shoto. "Still, I do wonder..."
"I...really can't believe this," Izuku said.
"Yeah, poor Todoroki," Momo said.
Bakugo continued to seethe, but he wasn't the only one angry. A certain Capsule Corp heir seemed furious, "HEY! My name should be up there!"
"Trunks!?" Mayday said, turning to the boy.
"Do you have any idea who I am!? My mother can buy and sell you people ten times over!" Trunks shouted.
"Oh good grief, not another whiny loser," Flurry lamented, once again surprising some nearby classmates.
"I really don't like when Flurry's like this, a purehearted girl like her shouldn't sound so bitter," Mineta thought to himself. "Ignore him Flurry, he's not worth it. Anyone whining about their loss doesn't deserve to be a hero."
"I heard that, you shrimp!" Trunks shouted, Flurry immediately standing in front of Mineta to protect him.
"Don't you lay a finger on Minoru!" Flurry warned.
"Pfft, if he needs a weak little girl like you to protect him, he's probably not worth my time anyway," Trunks said.
"Hey! She's not weak!" Mineta shouted, somewhat recoiling when Trunks's glare fixated on him. "Dammit, what kind of guy has to rely on a girl to protect him? Even if it is a strong girl like Flurry! I should be protecting her!"
"Trunks, chill," Goten said. "I know you're upset but-"
"You shut your mouth you damn traitor!" Trunks said. "I should have known you'd get tired of being in my shadow!"
"What's with you lately? Why are you such a jerk nowadays!?" Goten asked. "This isn't you man! You're so much cooler than this!"
"People change, seems like you haven't. Even without me, you're still nothing compared to Gohan or your father!" Trunks shouted, then focused on Mara. "Hey! Old man! I demand a recount!"
"If your name's not on here, it means you failed. No one made any mistakes, except you," Mara said.
"What was that!?" Trunks shouted, powering up a bit. "I will prove you wrong one way or-"
Suddenly Trunks found himself encased in a large glacier ice, courtesy of Bobby as he made his way over. "Dude, you need to chill!"
"Literally," Mayday joked.
Bobby turned his attention to Mara, "Sorry about my guy here! He's basically his father's son!" Bobby turned back to Trunks, "Though I doubt even Vegeta would make this type of fuss nowadays."
"Passions run wild, Iceman, but we do appreciate your help," Mara said.
"Wow, you really created that giant ice thing fast," Mina said.
"It's nothing really, even your friend Shoto did this at the Sports Festival," Bobby said.
"He's not wrong, but...when Iceman did it, he did it with no trouble," Shoto observed. "It takes a lot out of me to do it, and it leaves me feeling cold. Seems like Iceman isn't affected by his quirk."
"A printout will be handed to you so each of you, including those two passed, will know where they went wrong," Mara said.
One guy handed Kirishima's over, though this got Bakugo's attention, "Hey! Let me see yours!"
"Uh, maybe worry about your own scores?" Kirishima suggested.
"Well, tell me how you did!" Toru nagged.
"Give me a second to look it over first," Kaminari said.
"We removed points for all your failures, if you fell below fifty, you were done," Mara said. "Look them over carefully."
"Sixty-one points? I barely made it," Oujiro said.
"I got eighty-four!" Sero cheered.
"Yao-Momo! You got ninety-four points!?" A surprised Jiro said.
"How about you Iida, how'd you do?" Izuku asked, Mayday right beside him.
"I averaged an eighty," Tenya said. "My weak points were impractical applications."
"That's great, me I got about seventy-five, my mom's not gonna be happy but whatever," Mayday said. "They said something about me wanting to show-off. Maybe it was the quips, but that's my whole thing. Well it's my dad's thing but he does it to alleviate worry for everyone, I mean nothing wrong with a bit of laughter."
"Quips and one-liners are usually frowned upon in Japan I'm afraid, even if you meant well, that's probably what happened," Tenya said. "What about you Midoriya?"
"I got seventy-one points," Izuku said. "They mostly docked me for the stupid things I said at the beginning, and for standing around doing nothing for a bit."
"Thank goodness we have evidence on what we should improve upon!" Tenya said.
"I am not improving on the quips thing. Seriously even All Might makes one-liners, these people were just being a bunch of old men who can't handle a few jokes," Mayday said.
"Still, this test only reduced points, no way to add them," Izuku noticed. "If you went below fifty you immediately failed. Why not just take those people off the battlefield if they're destined to fail."
Nearby, Goten grumbled in annoyance, "I lost points for talking too much!? I feel like that's a personal attack against me! Oh well, at least I squeaked by with a sixty-five."
Mara began speaking once more, "Alright, moving forward, if you passed, that means you can exercise authority as a pro-hero. But only during emergencies. So if you're fighting villains or saving people, then you may act with your best judgement. But remember, you have great power now, and to paraphrase popular pro hero Spider-Man, that power comes with a lot of responsibility. I know you're all aware that All Might, our greatest hero, no longer has his incredible power. His presence greatly diminished crime for many years. With him out of the picture, villains may become bold again, so expect that to happen as our world begins to shift. You young people are the hope of our future, and it's imperative that you become amazing heroes, and to suppress crime as All Might did. Your license you earned today is Provisional, and you still have much to do. Take your studies a lot more diligently. If you did not pass, there is no time for you to feel bitter, if anything you may redeem yourselves. You must past a three-month long training regime to improve your individual capabilities, a chance to reach your Provisional License. To reach the ideal future that I just spoke of, we're going to need as many good heroes as we can get. The first round just weeded people out, we still want to grow the next hundred to be the best as possible. That's why we watched you to the end, so see that you each have promise. Once your shortcomings are corrected, you have potential to be as great as your fellow classmates. This course will be in coherence with your normal studies, so it will be twice the workload. Or you can just retake the rest in April if you so choose to."
"YES! SPECIAL COURSE!" A happy Inasa shouted.
"Wow! Isn't this great Todoroki!?" Izuku said.
"I'm so happy for you!" Flurry said, hugging the boy. "You'll get to be a hero like us!"
"Thank you..." Shoto said, a bit flustered by Flurry's affection. "I promise to work hard, and make you proud."
"Now, can someone please melt Iceman's glacier?" Mara said.
"Might want to give it some time," Bobby said, glacing at a still irate Trunks, his energy alone melting the glacier. "Trunks really needs to cool off first."
Outside Izuku was seen geeking out over his Provisional License, nearly on the verge of tears, "It's finally happening..."
"Deku, are you crying?" Ochako asked, snapping the boy out of it.
"Yeah, I guess, this is a lot, and so many people have helped me get to this point," Izuku said. "It's like I've matured and gotten stronger." He then began taking pictures, "I gotta send this to my mom and All Might! Oh, Spider-Man would want to see this too!"
"See what?" Peter said, unintentionally sneaking up on Izuku and startling him. "Whoa, didn't mean to spook you."
"Spider-Man!?" Izuku asked.
"Dad!? You came!?" Mayday asked.
"Sure did," Peter said, then was greeted by a glomp hug from Ochako.
"Senpai!" Ochako shouted, hugging the hero tightly with both arms and legs, much to Mayday's shock and annoyance.
"What the hell is this bimbo doing!?" Mayday had half a mind to knock Ochako out.
"Whoa, easy there Ochako," Peter nervously said, returning the hug. "Great to see you too though, did you get your license too?"
"Sure did!" Ochako said, leaping off him and show it off. "All thanks to you and your training, now I can officially call myself a Hero!"
"Oh I can't take all the credit, you're just a naturally talented girl," Peter said. "That license doesn't make you a hero, your actions do."
"Senpai..." Ochako teared up a bit and started hugging Peter again. "I love you, so much!"
Peter affectionately rubbed Ochako's hair, "You're such a sweet girl, it's no wonder your parents are so proud."
"My parents?" Ochako asked.
"I met your dad earlier today, he was doing some work at Kamino," Peter said. "Nice man, spoke highly of you, and for good reason. You're as sweet as you are adorable."
"Aw...you make me so happy!" Ochako hugged even tighter, unwilling to let go. "You're like my big brother!"
"Well here comes the Onii-chan stuff," Peter expected. "Just like Amy did back in the day."
Mayday angrily glared at this display of affection that Ochako was receiving, "First Izuku, now daddy!? The nerve of this girl, trying to take away the attention of two of my favorite guys. What, is she going to take my brother's attention away too? Assuming she hasn't already, she did spend a week at my home. I sure as hell ain't letting that happen though!"
"Mayday?" came the voice of Twilight.
"Mom, you're here too? How's your jaw?" Mayday asked.
"It's fine, anyway I came over with your father once he got your text about the licenses," Twilight said. "We're really proud of you, and Flurry too."
"Hey where is Flurry?" Peter asked, Ochako finally letting go.
"She's with Shoto Todoroki," Mayday said, gesturing to the boy. "He didn't pass, so she's trying to reassure him."
"Oh, one of you kids didn't pass?" Peter asked. "That's a bummer."
"Flurry!" Twilight called, getting the girl's attention.
"My aunt and uncle are here!" Flurry said, running over alongside her other classmates aside from Shoto, Momo, Bakugo and Yuga.
"Yo! Spidey! What's up!?" Kirishima said. "Almost surprised to see you."
"I'm happy I was able to come, it was a busy day today," Peter said. "With All Might retired, a lot of crooks are getting gutsy."
"That is to be expected," Tenya said. "We thank you for your hard work."
"Just doing what I can to help out," Peter said. "Also Tenya, I might have a little surprise for you and your family later, call your mom when you get a chance."
"Oh, um, sure thing," Tenya said, curious by what Peter probably had in store.
"Sounds like most of you had luck today, aside from Shoto Todoroki," Peter said.
"He's not the only one who didn't pass," Mayday said, gesturing to an angry Bakugo. "Grenade Boy failed too."
Peter grumbled in annoyance, "This might suck to say, but I am not surprised he failed. He still has a lot of growing to do."
"Rainbow Dash mentioned he was a bit of an arrogant child, something I noticed firsthand at the practical exams," Twilight said.
"Plus he still had a major chip on his shoulder during the training in that special gym," Peter said. "It sucks too, I saw his mother earlier today, such a nice lady who clearly wants the best for her son."
"You met Kacchan's mother as well?" Izuku asked.
"Met yours too," Peter said. "Inko's a nice lady."
"Wait, dad, you met Izuku's mom?" Mayday asked. "Thinking about it, I never met his mom either."
"I wouldn't mind going over for a family dinner, if Izuku's alright with it," Peter said.
"You mean, you, Twilight and Mayday come to my house and have dinner with me and my mom?" Izuku asked. "Yeah I don't mind."
"Would it be alright if my son and cousin came too? Or is that too much?" Peter asked.
"Actually, I'd love to meet Mayday's little brother," Izuku said.
"I met him once, he's such a sweetheart," Ochako said, glancing up at Peter. "Just like his dad."
"You're making me blush," Peter said, sheepishly rubbing his head and trying to hide his face.
"Can you please stop talking like you're flirting with my dad?" Mayday said. "You're gonna make my mom jealous."
"Mayday! I'm not gonna get jealous of a High School girl!" Twilight said.
"That implies you'd be jealous if she wasn't in High School," Mayday sassed.
"Don't get smart with me, young lady," Twilight said.
"Mayday truly has no filter," Izuku mentally noted.
"Man Midoriya, if Spider-Man comes to your house for family dinner, you'd probably be one of the luckiest kids in school," Kaminari said.
"Got that right, kind of jealous of you Midoriya," Kirishima said.
"Same," Ochako admitted.
"Actually Ochako, I'd love to come to your house someday too," Peter said. "Honestly I'd love to get to know all these students and their parents."
"Dude really?" Kaminari asked. "I mean, my parents might not be cool enough to hang with you."
"Hey I'm a parent too, I know how to hang with others, to an extent. But seriously, you're all the future, and I want to get to know the fine heroes of tomorrow," Peter said.
"It's nice that you have so much faith in us Spider-Man, you're always really positive and I appreciate that," Tsuyu said. "You seem like you'd be a really fun teacher, have you ever taught in a school like UA?"
"I try helping from time to time, gotta say, lot of the younger heroes back home are not as humble though," Peter said. "I also found out that Ant Man stole my 'Great Power' catchphrase, really ticked me off."
"That's a bummer," Kirishima said. "Both the heroes and the catchphrase."
"A lot of kids back home are way too privileged, then have the nerve to act like they have it so hard," Peter said. "Kids, promise you will respect your elders, and always mind those who came before you. Work for everything and I promise the payoff is much better."
"We will, we're still perfecting our quirks," Tsuyu said. "Today I finally mastered my camouflage powers, I can turn completely invisible."
"Oh wow, funny how I know so many people who can turn invisible now. Like my sidekick Miles," Peter said. "His quirk lets him turn invisible as well, something even I can't do."
"Mayday did mention that you and the other spiders differ from one another in some ways," Tsuyu said.
"Yeah, Miles has abilities I don't have, in addition to invisibility, he can generate his own electric charge," Peter said. "Gwen's powers are similar to mine. My cousin Peni, her powers are much different, she doesn't have super strength, she just fights with her technical savviness. So yeah, we're all spiders, but we have our differences, what binds us is basically our origin. That's why we're The Web Warriors."
"Is Spider-Woman a part of that?" Toru asked.
"Uh, no, she's not affiliated with us, common mistake really," Peter said. "It's just me, Miles, Gwen and Peni, far as this timeline goes."
"Timeline?" Izuku asked.
"Spoke too much, I'll explain later," Peter said. "But I'm all for making any of you sidekicks, like you Tsu, you'd actually be a perfect sidekick thinking about it."
"Really? Why?" Tsuyu asked.
"In the Amazon, Spiders and Frogs tend to look out for one another," Peter said. "Plus, you just seem brimming with potential, you have this kind aura to you, and I feel like people will feel safe with you around. Twilight spoke highly of you when she was your opponent at the practical exams, plus Logan said you're a good student, always respectful, willing to learn. One day I'd like to take you under my wing."
"Oh...that's an honor," Tsuyu said, feeling flustered.
"Also, I met your mom today as well, nice woman, easy to see where you get your good manners from," Peter said.
"That's nice to hear, you must have made her really happy," Tsuyu said.
"I do what I can," Peter said.
"Wow, Tsu, you're really lucky," Ochako said. "It'd be great if we could all be a team together."
"Got that right," Peter said. "I mean, give it time though, not sure when you'll get the chance to work with me, but if there's another mentorship type deal, you girls can always come to me."
"That sure sounds like you, Peter," Gohan said, flying in. "Always giving others a chance."
"Hey, Gohan, took you long enough," Peter said.
"Well helping those citizens on that train took time," Gohan said.
"Guess it would, sorry that Twi and I kind of ditched you," Peter said.
"It's fine, it wasn't a hard job," Gohan said, looking around. "I should find my brother. I hope he wasn't a pain."
"He was, as usual," Mayday said.
"Mayday!" Twilight scolded.
"He came in talking crap about me and my classmates," Mayday said.
"I'll admit, he was a bit rude at first, but when it came down to it, his heart was in the right place," Izuku said. "He really helped out towards the end."
"Sounds like Goten, he acts like a wise guy but he's super nice," Gohan said. "He just needs to dial back his arrogance a bit but he's getting there."
"Yo! Gohan!" Goten said, getting his brother's attention.
"Hey Goten, how'd it go?" Gohan asked.
"Awesome, got my license," Goten said. "Trunks on the other hand..."
"Did Trunks fail?" Gohan asked.
"Yeah, and he's not taking it so well," Goten said, gesturing to his angry friend.
"These people don't know talent when they see it," Trunks angrily commented, having fully thawed out.
"Hey Trunks, I know things aren't looking well for you right now, but just keep at it, and you'll get there," Gohan said.
"Don't patronize me," Trunks said, taking to the sky. Before he left, he turned his attention to the ninth holder of One for All. "Hey! Izuku Midoriya!"
"Huh?" Izuku turned his attention to Trunks, this getting everyone's attention as well.
"This isn't over between us! I suggest you and your Class A buddies watch your backs, because I'm coming after each of you. I'm gonna destroy UA's reputation myself!" Trunks said, focusing on the rest of the class. "You're all on warning."
The boy flew off, leaving many in Class A rather annoyed.
"How uncouth," Momo commented.
"What a bully," Mineta said.
"Seriously, what's his deal?" Kaminari asked. "He's as bad as Bakugo!"
"I HEARD THAT!" Bakugo shouted.
"Hey! Katsuki!" Peter said, making his way over to the boy, everyone surprised by this interaction.
"Oh wow, it looks like Spider-Man's going to chew out Bakugo," Mina said as Peter marched over to the explosion user.
"This might get chaotic," Kaminari worriedly stated.
Bakugo angrily glanced up at Peter. "What is it!?"
Peter raised his eyebrow a second, before glaring down at the angry child, "So, tell me, why did you fail?"
"What do you care?" Bakugo said.
"He also refused to save anyone," Flurry said.
"Can it! No one asked you!" Bakugo shouted.
"Hey! Look at me!" Peter said, getting in Bakugo's eyesight. "First off, don't shout at my niece like that, you know what, don't be shouting at anyone at all! That attitude is not going to get you far as a hero!"
"Not in the mood for a lecture," Bakugo said.
"Tough! You're getting one, because frankly, you really tick me off sometimes," Peter said, Bakugo groaning in annoyance. "You want to go pro, yet you go around with this angry look, yelling at your peers and then you wanna complain that this place isn't recognizing you as a hero? Newsflash, you're not the only talented kid in your class, they're all talented. Let me guess, you were a big shot from grade school to middle school, but once you hit UA, you realized you're just as good as the person next to you, a grain in the sand. So you lash out to get attention drawn to yourself, thinking if you made enough people feel bad about themselves, then maybe it'd help your ego. Heroes don't have egos, when you're out there, you put others before yourself, that's what being a hero is."
Bakugo turned away, trying to hide his shame. He hates knowing that Peter had a point, but it's one he just can't accept. "So what? Am I supposed to be all smiles and giggles? Tell a joke like you do?"
"You can be the strong, serious hero, it works for Wolverine," Peter said. "But you have to put in an effort. Wolverine doesn't demoralize his fellow heroes, he might make a crack or two but he would never intentionally put someone down unless that person did something to deserve it. You can't go around yelling at classmates like this, it's not proper. Speaking of classmates, you need to lay off Izuku as well. I've seen how you talk to and berate him so-"
"Hey, this thing between me and Deku is personal," Bakugo said.
"Dude, what is it about him you don't like!? He's probably the nicest boy in school! Is it because he reminds you of how scummy you are?" Peter asked. "Let this sink in, for all your berating, he has his license, and you don't. He succeeded where you failed!"
"I know that!" Bakugo shouted. "And it pisses me off too!"
"That's your fault!" Peter shouted back. "Stop worrying about Izuku and worry about yourself! Because obviously you were wrong about Izuku, so face up to it. Or are you a coward who refuses to admit his own mistakes?"
"A coward!?" Bakugo shouted in frustration, many of the UA kids worried about how he would react, even against a pro hero.
"That's right, you can't handle the fact that you aren't as great as you once thought, and on top of that, it bothers you that Izuku is catching up to you fast," Peter said. "It's a shame too, after talking with your mom earlier, she seems like-"
"The hell were you doing talking to my mom!?" Bakugo asked. "How did you even see my mom?"
"I didn't go to your house if that's what you're worried about, I don't even know where you live," Peter said. "But I did spot your mom when she was out shopping, I think she's really worried about you, and for good reason. You're a bit of a wild card, and you really need to shape up."
"Screw this," Bakugo said, making his leave. "I don't need this dumb lecture, I'll become a hero my own way!"
"Katsuki..." Peter groaned in annoyance as the boy stormed off. "Damn kid."
"He needs to work on that attitude, this isn't healthy," Gohan said. "Izuku, how long have you known him?"
"Uh, since I was about four, give or take," Izuku said.
"That's what, eleven years you've known him?" Gohan asked. "Has he always been like this?"
"Well, kind of," Izuku said. "Once his quirk manifested, he became very arrogant. But I never really had a problem with it, I really think his power is cool, and he has this determination to never give up. I think it's a great quality of a hero."
"Why are you still being so nice when talking about him?" Mayday asked.
"Well he is my friend," Izuku said.
"No, he's not!" Mayday said. "He's a bully, he told me...some really bad things about you, and bad things he said."
"Bad things?" Ochako asked.
"What does that mean?" Flurry wondered.
"Mayday...it's fine, Kacchan just talks tough," Izuku said. "Anything he said is just him being arrogant."
"What did he say about Izuku though?" Twilight asked.
Mayday shook her head, "I don't want to say it, Izuku you can tell my mom."
"Can we not discuss this now?" Izuku said, nervously eyeing Ochako, as well as his other classmates. "It's really personal."
"Deku, if something happened, you can tell us," Ochako said. "We're your friends."
"Yeah, we're a team dude," Kirishima said.
"Might as well say something, I mean Katsuki told me, he might just tell someone else," Mayday said.
"Never mind it right now!" Izuku said, raising his voice slightly and startling everyone. "I'd rather not discuss it at the moment."
"Probably should respect his opinion on this," Gohan said.
"What opinion?" Peter asked, making his way over.
"Tell you later, sounds like you had a hard time getting through to Katsuki though," Gohan said.
"Tell me about it, that boy is the epitome of pride," Peter said.
"He's really not that bad, he just has a lot of conviction," Izuku said. "Honestly, it's something I really admire about Kacchan, he always strives to be the best and doesn't let anyone step on him."
"That's not inherently a bad thing, but there is a bad way to go about it," Gohan said. "What Katsuki's doing is putting others down to make himself feel better about himself. I just can't respect that."
"He's got time to change, I've seen people change for the better, like Flash Thompson and Eddie Brock," Peter said. "And you've seen Vegeta change too, Gohan."
"Yeah, you said it yourself once Peter, how Katsuki and Vegeta aren't so different," Gohan said. "Though sometimes I feel like it's pure luck that Vegeta simmered down. I mean, Bulma definitely helped big time, same with Trunks, the one from the future at least."
"The future?" Izuku wondered, also recalling that Peter mentioned timelines earlier in the conversation. "What future?"
"This cannot stay a secret, can it?" Peter said.
"I can tell them later," Flurry said. "Mayday can vouch for me too."
"That could help," Gohan said.
"Katsuki just needs to be put in his place from time to time," Peter said, glancing at Aizawa. "I do wonder how often his teachers even do that."
"No one really puts Bakugo in his place, everyone's either too intimidated or too much in awe," Ochako said. "Even if he annoys everyone at times, many of them seem impressed by how strong he is and how he always speaks his mind."
"Sounds like kids respecting a local rebel," Peter said.
"Izuku, you mentioned that Katsuki is your friend," Twilight said. "Is that really true? Are you friends?"
"I mean, yeah we're not best friends, but we were close once," Izuku said.
"That would explain why you call him 'Kacchan'," Gohan said. "From what I've noticed, you don't use such strong honorifics for anyone else."
"Except Tsuyu, and occasionally Flurry," Mayday said. "Though he never calls me 'May-chan'."
"That's because you don't like when anyone does that," Izuku said.
"That only applies to them, especially Flurry since she sounds like a weeb. You get a pass," Mayday said, earning a side-eye from Ochako and Flurry.
"Mayday, don't call your cousin a weeb," Twilight said, then focused back to the young man before her. "Well back to my point, Izuku, do you really consider yourself a good friend to Katsuki?"
"Yeah, I try to be, why?" Izuku asked.
"So when he acts out, do you usually say anything to him?" Twilight asked.
"Well no, I usually do my best not to annoy him any further," Izuku said. "I mean it's fine, I'm kind of used to him acting that way."
"That's a shame, because truthfully, you don't sound like you come across as a good friend to him," Twilight said.
"Huh? But why?" Izuku asked.
"Because you're ignoring a key Element of Friendship here," Twilight said. "How much do you know about The Elements of Harmony?"
"Uh, there's six of them..." Izuku tried recalling all of them, the boy frantically muttering to himself. "The six, what were the six? One of them had to do with Loyalty since Rainbow Dash mentioned it, and being around Pinkie Pie a lot reminds me of Laughter, but the others, ugh, what were they again? It was right on the top of my head, like right there..."
"Izuku, let me save you some time here," Twilight said, offering to stop Izuku's rampant muttering. "It's Loyalty, Laughter, Kindness, Generosity, Honesty and Magic."
"Right, now I remember," Izuku said.
"Those sayings represent the foundations of Friendship," Twilight said. "Though if you ask Peter, it's not a complete list."
"I'd say Empathy and Responsibility should be on there," Peter said.
"My point is, you're failing at one of them," Twilight said. "That being Honesty."
"Honesty?" Izuku asked.
"If you really are Katsuki's friend, you have to be willing to speak honestly to him, let him know he's acting out of line, and if he snaps at you, stand up for yourself, tell him how you honestly feel," Twilight said. "Katsuki may be strong, but so are you. If you stand up for yourself more and tell him off, then that's one step closer to helping Katsuki fix his flaws. What you and the class are doing, it sounds like, is being too dismissive of his behavior. None of you aren't taking the time to correct it, you're just letting him do whatever he feels like. That is not ok."
"But Kacchan, he's really not so bad, he just feels under a lot of pressure, and maybe I haven't made things easier for him," Izuku said.
"Don't blame yourself for how Katsuki is! You didn't make him that way, he's making himself that way and making you feel like it's your fault, that's just cruel," Twilight said.
"He probably doesn't mean to though," Izuku said. "He's a really great guy when he wants to be, he's just too focused on his goals."
"Izuku! I'm getting a little frustrated with you. I get you want to be nice but you have to stand your ground," Twilight scolded, her harsh tone startling the boy a bit, along with his classmates. "You're a human being and he should treat you like one, and if you really consider yourself his friend, then step up and be the friend he needs! A real friend knows when to tell another friend what they need to hear, and not only what they want to hear!"
Izuku was taken back by Twilight's outburst, truthfully he wasn't even sure if this was something he could pull off, "She's not going to let up on this, is she? I can't disagree that Kacchan's a bit full of himself, but I don't want to make things worse between us. If only Twilight can see a different side to Kacchan, the amazing blooming hero that I can see."
"Let me guess, you're hoping I somehow see the light and that 'Kacchan' really is worthy of being a hero," Twilight said.
"Huh!?" Izuku shouted in surprise. "Wait, can you read minds?"
"I can just tell from the look on your face, it's the same look Gohan has when I criticize his father's parenting," Twilight said.
"My dad's not perfect, but I can't help but respect him," Gohan said.
"I know Goku's not a horrible father, but he is very lacking," Twilight said.
"Always talking shit," a nearby Goten thought to himself.
"My point is Izuku, if you really do care about Katsuki, you have to show it more, and that includes making tough decisions," Twilight said.
Izuku reluctantly nodded his head, "Alright Twilight."
"In fact...I'm going to give you some Friendship Lessons," Twilight said.
"Friendship Lessons?" Izuku asked, Flurry's ears perking up.
"Mom, no," Mayday said.
"Oh it's no big deal, I'm just going to have Izuku write his progress to me so I can how to gauge his feelings," Twilight said. "It's what Princess Celestia did with me when she encouraged me to make new friends."
"Oh yeah, she 'encouraged' you," Peter quipped, earning a glare from Twilight.
"Oh snap..." Mayday said to herself.
Fortunately Twilight did not press that issue. "Izuku, aside from Katsuki, how many friends did you have growing up?"
"Well, not counting the three boys that constantly hung out with him...uh, no one. I didn't make friends until I met Uraraka, OW!" Izuku rubbed his arm after Mayday punched him.
"Don't forget about me! I was your friend before anyone in our class!" Mayday shouted.
"Mayday! Don't punch Izuku! That's not nice," Twilight scolded.
"I didn't mean to forget you, but the way we met was...well, unconventional," Izuku said.
"Saving my life from a villain still counts, I liked you immediately," Mayday said.
"Would you have still liked him if he didn't save you?" Gohan asked.
"Huh? Of course I would, he's a nice boy," Mayday said. "Don't ask me dumb questions."
"Mayday! Please talk to Gohan with respect!" Twilight scolded, then turned to her husband, "Mind earning your keep, Peter?"
"Uh, yeah, Mayday, be nice," Peter said.
"Okay daddy," Mayday said, putting on the good girl act, earning an eye roll from Twilight, Gohan and Ochako.
"Mayday's really got her dad wrapped around her fingers," Ochako felt.
"Big sis certainly has her hands full," Gohan thought to himself.
"By the way Aunt Twilight, I think Shoto might be interested in those Friendship Lessons," Flurry said. "He's struggling with being friendly to and I think he wants to change."
"Sure, I'd be happy to help any of your classmates," Twilight said.
Meanwhile Bobby had come out the building with Rarity by his side, "Finally, that took forever."
"It didn't take that long dear," Rarity said.
"It's paperwork, it takes forever, doesn't help that Trunks made matters worse with his tantrum. Bulma is definitely hearing about that!" Bobby said, then noticed a surprise, "No way! Peter!"
"Twilight!" Rarity called.
The couple turned to see their friends.
"Rarity!" Twilight went to meet her friend halfway, embracing her in a hug, "I've missed you."
"Same here darling," Rarity said, pulling back. "You're healing quite nicely from that brute's attack."
"Yeah, it wasn't easy though," Twilight said.
"Yo, Peter, been a while," Bobby said, fist-bumping his friend. "You healed up quite nicely yourself."
"You know me, after a near death beatdown, I just need a good night sleep," Peter joked.
"Does he really just need that?" Izuku wondered.
"Man, only you can make a joke like that," Bobby said. "How's Johnny?"
"Recovering at home, he messed his skull up pretty badly, his doctors don't want him rushing back out there," Peter said.
"What about Rainbow Dash?" Rarity asked.
"Similar, her damaged leg makes it hard for her to really walk right now," Peter said. "It might take some time."
"The only reason my jaw's doing better is because of assistance I got from Doctor Strange," Twilight said.
"Well at least All Might won, but the fact that the person he fought outmatched even Superman was impressive," Bobby said. "Who was he anyway?"
"One of All Might's old rivals, All for One," Peter said. "He's named after his quirk as he steals the power of others for himself."
"So like Rogue? Or is it more of a Cell situation?" Bobby asked.
"I'd say a bit of both," Peter said. "Still, so many quirks in one body, I'm amazed he kept himself together. Unlike Cell, he's only human. Even then, there was probably only so many quirks Cell could have at once without it overloading him."
"He even managed to outmatch my father," Gohan said. "Of course, my dad had to hold back since he didn't want to endanger nearby citizens, but I'm still amazed he even lost."
"Yeah, I'm surprised Goku didn't beat him too, I mean, he's Goku, he can blow up a planet," Bobby said. "Then again, lots of heroes can, I bet even Hulk could destroy this planet if he wanted to."
"Hulk turning against us is not something I want to consider," Peter nervously said. "Even Goku in Super Saiyan Blue might struggle."
"What exactly is Super Saiyan Blue?" Izuku asked.
"The Super Saiyan power mixed with God energy," Peter said.
"God energy?" Izuku asked.
"There's so much to enlighten you kids on," Gohan said. "You'll see for yourselves one day, if not soon."
"By the way Gohan, how's Videl doing?" Rarity asked.
"She's getting better, she did suffer some internal bleeding after the fight, when she was taken to the hospital, it was revealed that her broken ribs had nearly pierced a few organs, including her lungs," Gohan said. "Gave me quite a scare too, I'm used to that type of punishment, but Videl..."
"She's tough, that can't be taken away from her," Bobby said.
"With any luck, these kids won't have to go through anything like that," Peter said.
"Yeah, gotta say, this is a talented class," Bobby said, then focused on the green-haired boy. "Especially you, Izuku Midoriya."
"Who me?" Izuku asked.
"I don't know any other Izuku," Bobby said. "Point is that you have that fierce determination, plus you even intercepted an attack from Trunks, that takes guts."
"Oh, that was nothing really," Izuku insisted.
"Wait, where is Trunks?" Bobby asked.
"He left," Goten said.
Bobby face palmed in frustration, "I told him to wait for me. Ugh, one more thing to tell Bulma about. Assuming she can even discipline him."
"To be fair, he's legally an adult, there might not be much his parents can do," Rarity said.
"Pretty sure Vegeta still gives him an allowance, he's not that much of an adult," Bobby said.
"Trunks has a real chip on his shoulder, doesn't he?" Peter said.
"That is a massive understatement," Bobby said.
"Oh, by the way, Saiyaman?" Izuku said.
"Call me 'Gohan'," the boy corrected.
"Right sorry, question, you have a daughter, correct?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah, her name's Pan," Gohan said.
"Follow up question, is she really strong?" Izuku asked.
"Well she's stronger than most girls her age," Gohan said. "She got to compete at the World Martial Arts Tournament this year too. The Tournament got cancelled when my dad left to train a boy named Uub so she couldn't really compete much. She did fight and beat my little brother."
"Again with this!?" Goten shouted in annoyance. "I let her win! I was trying to give her a confidence boost, why doesn't anyone believe me!?"
"Because you're really not that strong, and you don't train as much while Pan is a prodigy," Mayday said.
"Mayday, you don't need to be so hard on Goten," Izuku said.
"Yeah, what Deku said," Goten replied. "Look, maybe I can stand to train a bit more but I am not going to be outclassed by my five-year-old niece."
"You worry too much, you know Pan loves you right?" Gohan asked. "You're her favorite uncle."
"I'm her only uncle," Goten said.
"Still her favorite," Gohan said.
"So, Gohan, is Pan going to UA when she gets older?" Izuku asked.
"Probably," Gohan said. "She hasn't shown that much desire to be a pro hero, but she does want to be a martial artist, she may stick with that. You should meet her one day though, she saw you and your friends in the Sports Festival and she thinks you're all really cool. Even Katsuki."
"She hasn't been negatively influenced, has she?" Twilight asked.
"Any negativity left when Katsuki got whooped by Mayday," Gohan said. "Videl even joked that Mayday would do that to Pan if she ever acted like Katsuki."
"Whoa, harsh, I wouldn't hurt Pan, she's sweet and adorable," Mayday said. "Plus my brother would never forgive me if I hurt one of his friends, especially a pretty one."
"Oh right, Benjy's noticing girls...even though he's in Kindergarten," Peter lamented.
"Aren't you homeschooling him?" Gohan asked.
"You know what I mean," Peter said.
"You homeschool your son?" Kirishima asked.
"For now, it's easier to do that than to enroll him in a school in Japan," Peter said. "Twilight has a teaching certificate since she owns a school, so it shouldn't affect him academically, plus he's learning way more at home than in school since we're teaching him at a pace he's comfortable with."
"It generates good results, I tried homeschooling Mayday too, but she's a social little butterfly," Twilight said.
"Don't call me that," Mayday said. "I'm a strong spider, not a wimpy butterfly."
Nearby, Inasa went dashing towards the other UA Kids, "Todoroki!"
"Wow that one's loud," Peter said.
"Yeah he's from Shiketsu High," Bobby said. "He failed too, but he still seems motivated."
"Todoroki! I'll see you at the special course!" Inasa said. "But truth be told! I still don't like you! I'm sorry for that! Bye for now!"
Peter raised his eyebrow in confusion, "What in the-"
"Spider-Man!" Inasa shouted, running towards the webbed hero. "It's truly an honor to see you here as well! I imagine that it's for the support of your daughter! You are a wonderful father and a great superhero!"
"Uh, thanks dude, I heard you failed, sorry to hear that," Peter said. "But you're getting a second chance at least, I hope things work out well. Remember, you tend to learn more from your losses than your wins."
"Your words are an inspiration!" Inasa shouted, bowing hard and hitting his head on the ground. "Thank you!"
"Wow, talk about enthusiastic," a weirded out Peter said. "Hey, you hit your head pretty hard there, are you alright?"
"Of course!" Inasa said, standing back up, seemingly oblivious to his cut.
"Dude! You're bleeding!" Peter said.
"Oh, yes, that happens sometimes!" Inasa said. "It's nothing!"
"It's not nothing! Please don't hurt yourself like that!" Peter said.
"Need me to wipe it down?" Twilight asked.
"My classmates can handle that! Thank you for your concern! Your motherly tone is also quite soothing to my ears! Your children are lucky!" Inasa ran to his school's ride.
"Mayday, who was that guy?" Peter asked.
"Inasa Yoarashi, he has a wind quirk, it's similar to what Storm uses but without the lightning and the weather manipulation. He's very loud and enthusiastic, still usually a nice guy, but he hates Shoto Todoroki and Endeavor," Mayday explained. "Apparently he nearly got into UA on recommendation, but turned it down."
"Dude also dresses like Bison from Shadoloo, weird choice for a hero," Bobby said.
Peter found Bobby's comparison strange, but was still curious about one thing, "Why does he hate Endeavor?"
"Knowing him, he probably acted like a total dickhead to that Inasa kid once," Bobby said. "We all know that Endeavor is not the best image of a hero, what sucks is that with All Might retired, he's going to be Number One Hero in Japan."
"I am so against that, honestly," Rarity said. "Peter, you should be Number One Hero."
"I'm not a Japanese citizen though," Peter said. "I'm still registered as an American Pro Hero."
"If anything, Gohan is probably the only one who can compete with Endeavor for Number One spot, he lives in Japan after all," Twilight said.
"I haven't done anything that impressive in years though," Gohan said. "In my last big fight, I got my butt kicked."
"You still did more than Endeavor," Bobby said. "You, Peter, Twilight, Johnny, Logan, Remy, hell even Deadpool did more than Endeavor did. You went into the battle, you risked your health, all Endeavor did was basically beat up a bunch of super powered zombies."
"It's not a competition," Peter said. "I mean, it is but it's not a relevant competition. This whole Number One Hero thing is just a glorified popularity contest."
"Even if it is, you know people flock to popularity," Bobby said.
"If a hero saves someone's life, that person's not gonna care about the ranking, just the fact that hero saved him or her," Peter said.
"But, Peter, don't people need a symbol?" Izuku asked. "Someone to look up to."
"That's good to have, but turning it into a popularity contest is not the way to go," Peter said. "Any hero who's in it for the fame is not worthy of being a hero."
"Didn't that Stain guy say something similar?" Bobby asked.
"Probably," Peter said. "I hate what he did, but I know why he did it. This society created a monster in Stain, and we both know he's not the only one who's a result of this nonsense among Pros. Honestly, I still can't help but wonder about Tomura Shigraki and his team. I mean, that girl Toga, even if it was for a brief second, she sounded grateful that I offered a helping hand, like if someone being nice to her is so much of a foreign concept. I mean, yeah she snapped into that creepy yandere attitude, but I just kept wondering, if I tried a bit harder, maybe I could get her to kind of see the light in a way."
"You will one day, hopefully," Twilight said, then focused back on Izuku. "To Peter's point though, most good heroes don't do this because of popularity, because the limelight isn't important."
"Remember what I told you about Superman, he does heroic things because it's the right thing to do," Peter said. "If you ask him, anyone can be a hero, it doesn't have to be flashy, just do the right thing."
"He makes it sound so simple, but I want to be an inspiration to others, is that really such a bad thing?" Izuku wondered.
"Excuse me, Spider-Man?" Mora said, getting his attention. "Hello, forgive my intrusion. My name is Nagamasa Mora. I just wanted to personally extent my thanks to you. You're a great hero who fights hard to save others, and many of my peers are inspired by your actions. I even saw your battle the other day on TV, it hurt seeing you take that beating, but seeing you standing here today is truly awe inspiring."
"It's nothing, I'm just happy to help," Peter said.
"I must say, you truly are modest, I'm amazed a hero of your status can be so down to Earth," Mora said.
"Well I never forget where I came from and how I got to where I am," Peter said. "If not for Iron Man, Captain America, and all my friends, I'd still just be some guy in Queens. Which is fine, I was totally content on being a small-town hero, I never imagined getting this famous. Honestly I still don't get what people like about me, I'm a spider, we're supposed to be icky."
"I can't speak for others, but I can tell you have this friendly aura to you, you're easy to talk to, that's probably why you're so popular," Mora said. "Also, I hope you weren't too bothered by Yoarashi, the young man you just spoke with."
"It's fine, I mean he's loud but I'm friends with Deadpool, and he's even louder," Peter said. "Plus one of my wife's friends can be a bit eccentric too."
"Pinkie Pie would definitely like that boy's smile," Twilight said.
"Still, I can tell that boy has a lot of passion for being a hero, and if he uses that passion to help others, that's good in my book," Peter said.
"Well, I will leave you be, thank you again," Mora said, turning around.
"Oh wait up!" Izuku said, getting his attention. "Before you leave, can you tell me about that training of yours to completely erase your presence?"
"Huh? We haven't learned anything like that," Mora said.
"Huh? But that girl in the bodysuit, she was able to do it," Izuku said. "I kind of wanted to talk to her about it too."
"Bodysuit? Oh you mean Camie," Mora said. "She actually wasn't feeling well, she took a cab to the station so she can go home."
"Oh, I see," Izuku said. "Wish I had a chance to ask."
"Truthfully, she's been acting very strangely for the past few days, very much unlike herself," Mora said.
"Is she doing alright?" Peter asked. "Could she be sick? It might be a personal issue that she's not telling you about. I'd make sure you get on that, part of being a hero means checking in on your peers and allies. Actually, that's not just a hero thing, it's a good idea in general to check up on others."
"Yes, you're right. As my peer I should keep an eye on her," Mora said.
"I don't know this girl well, but something about her did rub me the wrong way," Mayday said. "Especially that creepy shapeshifting."
"Huh? She doesn't have a shapeshifting quirk," Mora said.
"Yes she does, I saw it," Mayday said. "Izuku you remember, she started shapeshifting, then she became all naked, it got weird."
"Naked!?" Peter asked, Izuku blushing.
"Please don't talk about that, it's really embarrassing," Izuku said.
"I think the word you're looking for is 'arousing', "Bobby said, earning a glare from Rarity and Twilight.
"Dude, not the time," Peter said.
Mayday then whispered to her father, "She also triggered my spider sense, just from being in the same room as me."
"I see, that is a bad sign," Peter said.
"She also knew you, and spoke like she's met you before, I'm kind of worried," Mayday said, pulling back.
"Well, let's focus more on the bigger picture here," Peter said, turning back to Mora. "That girl you saw might have been an imposter pretending to be your classmate."
Mora sighed in concern, he should have suspected this but it was not something he wanted to consider. "This is troubling, if word gets out at my school, there will be a panic."
"Uh...and you're worried about the girl too, right?" Peter said. "Priorities Mora, her safety is more important than the reputation of your school."
"Yes, you're right, forgive me," Mora said, bowing quickly.
"It's fine. Now it will help if you told me everything you can, I'm gonna see what I can do from my end. Hopefully your friend's alright," Peter said. "For now, go back to your peers, see if you can let a teacher or principal know, then we'll talk more."
"I will," Mora said. "Thank you for volunteering to help."
"You can thank me once I find this friend of yours," Peter said. "Gohan, go find Logan, he can help too."
"Yes, of course," Gohan said, flying off.
"This took a surprising turn," Mayday said. "Still, who even was she? Why did she talk like she knew my dad? And why was she infiltrating the building?"
Elsewhere Camie was seen walking through an ally, lumps of clay falling off her as she neared a familiar face, that of course being the amphibian villain, Toad.
"About time you showed up," Toad said. "Did you do what you needed to do?"
The girl thought to be Camie was actually Himiko Toga of the League of Villains, "Sorry for keeping you waiting, but I had a blast today."
"Well that's nice and all, but hurry up, Compress won't stop pestering me, I was tempted to go to that licensing place myself just to find you," Toad admitted. "Gotta say, it's weird that these so-called pros need a license to be heroes, I mean by that point, they feel less like something out of a comic and more like glorified police officers."
"Eh, don't ask me how their world works, too complicated for me," Toga said, pulling out a case. "Anyway, it's all good, I managed to get some of Izuku's yummy blood."
"You're weird sometimes, but I'd still rather be around you than Wanda," Toad said, grabbing his phone.
"Who's Wanda?" Toga asked. "Is she someone you were friends with?"
"You know my old boss, Magneto, right?" Toad asked.
"Of course, everyone knows who he is, one of the best villains in the world!" Toga said. "Must have been so fun working with him, all that power at his disposal, making nations cower in fear!"
"Well scary as he was, his daughter was scarier, that girl has powers that should not be in the hands of a human," Toad said, making the call. "With any luck, we'll never have to see her again."
"Oh she can't be that bad, maybe she's just misunderstood," Toga said.
"Yeah, that's the same bogus line that her brother Pietro constantly fed us," Toad said. "Only Magneto can father two powerful humans like that, Godlike Speed and The Darkest Magic."
"Sounds fun," Toga said as Toad's phone started ringing.
"About time you called, Toad, any sign of Toga?" Compress asked.
"Girl just showed up, she got the boy's blood, and it sounds like she had quite the good time," Toad said.
"Put her on if you don't mind," Compress said, Toad complying and handing the phone over. "Toga?"
"That's me," the girl said.
"I'm glad your time there was a success, but I should hope you did not get caught," Compress said.
"Oh no way, I've never been caught," Toga said. "I slipped right through the cracks. Tomura's gonna be so happy!"
Himiko Toga, her quirk, transform. She can transform into someone after ingesting their blood.
"Good, now make your way back here, and be careful, Spider-Man and his allies have been patrolling around those parts very thoroughly, if you encounter him, you will not have a chance to beat him," Compress said.
"Spider-Man, huh?" Toga said, thinking back to the day she met Peter. "Such a nice guy, way nicer than a lot of those mean pro heroes. I hope when Tomura unleashes his plan, that he won't do anything bad to my dear sweet spider, or his adorable daughter."
"Don't count on it, I know you had a run in with him once, and that he seemed nice, but remember, he is our enemy," Compress said. "If he finds you, he's going to throw you in jail, in the end he is another pro hero."
"Yeah, but something about him just feels...different," Toga said.
"Ugh, Toga, hand me my phone back, I don't think Compress wants to hear you get all Spider-Man, fangirl like, bad enough when Boom-Boom does it," Toad said. "Lord knows Pyro really hates that more than most of us."
"Fine, here you go," Toga said, handing the phone over. "Still, it would have been great if I could have gotten Mayday's blood too."
"Mayday? Oh you mean Spider-Man's daughter," Toad said. "Bad idea, their blood is radioactive I believe, at least that's what that stupid, annoying song says."
"Song? Oh, I know which one," Toga said. "Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a-"
"DON'T!" Toad shouted. "Come on, suppose Tomura heard you literally singing Spider-Man's praises?"
"He did," Compress said, to Toad's annoyance. "Phone's still on."
"Well anyway, we'll be on our way," Toad said, hanging up. "By the way, Toga, do you really need blood to transform? I mean, Mystique was able to do it after just seeing a person."
"Believe me Morty, if I didn't need the blood, I wouldn't be going for it," Toga said. "But that's how I was made, to desire blood, it's something I can't help."
Toad could sense a hint of sadness in Toga's voice, and a hint of shame. When it came to quirks, it seems like both of them got the short end of the stick, Toga needing blood to transform, while Toad looked just like what he named himself after. He's been ridiculed by society for the way he looks, and figures it's possible that Toga herself was outcasted because of her power. Magneto always warned them that even if quirks became more prevalent, there would still be some discrimination. This so-called Freedom was just an illusion, those seeing through it being labeled as villain by the true menace to society.
"By the way, Toga, did you see a frog girl there?" Toad asked.
"You mean Tsu? I did, but I didn't really get to talk to her," Toga said. "Why? Are you interested in her?"
"Honestly, I am curious as to how she could stomach this hero society, wouldn't be surprised if she gets rejected by the public, even if she goes pro," Toad said. "That poor girl has no idea what she's about to face."
"She'll find out sooner or later," Toga said. "Anyway lets hurry back, Tabby and I are doing each other's nails and make-up."
"For what?" Toad asked.
"To look pretty, just because we're outcasted doesn't mean we can't look pretty, a girl should always look her best" Toga said. "
"Eh, you do you," Toad said. "At least you have the fortunate of being visibility appealing."
"Maybe we can do your make-up too," Toga said.
"DON'T!" Toad shouted.
Meanwhile in Tartarus Prison, a place where dangerous supervillains in Japan are kept, All Might had gone to see All for One.
"The second semester should be starting soon, or has it already begun?" All for One asked. "It would make sense if you stuck exclusively to teaching, so why have you come to see me?"
"I'm here to get a few things straight, All for One," All Might said.
"Well, good company is a good thing, there isn't much to do here," All for One said. "Gun monitors constantly have their sights locked on me, and ready to fire if I move too much. My brain waves are constantly monitored, along with my vital signs. If I even think about using my quirk, I will likely be terminated. A prison deep underground with hi-tech security, not even a bit of stimulation for my mind. The world likens this place to something out of Greek Mythology, Tartarus. Of course you and I both know it truly exists out in Europe, along with all sorts of mythology, heroes like Hercules and Thor. Funny when you think about that, or perhaps because it does exist is why this name was chosen, the Tartarus of Japan, I suppose it's better than the one found near Equestria, where villains just as dangerous as I reside. I'm not the only one who 'borrows' abilities after all, so I suppose that gives me a special connection to the one called 'Tirek', wouldn't you say?"
"What are you even going on about?" All Might asked.
"Forgive me, I went on a bit of a tangent there," All for One said. "My point is that I don't believe that even with my resources, that I can easily escape from this place. I dare say, if Arkham Asylum was this well guarded, even a place like Gotham City would be less corrupted than it is now. Though, that is a big maybe, even I would not underestimate The Joker."
"Regardless, you're trapped here, you'll never be free," All Might said.
"I'll let you believe that," All for One said, confidently grinning. "So what now? What do you have to say? Where's Gran Torino? You came here alone did you? Not even your best friend Superman by your side? I know he survived what I did to him, it would take more than that to bring him down."
"Got that right, you can't destroy either of us Symbols, or what we stand for," All Might said.
"Symbol? While Superman can maintain the title of The Symbol of Hope, I doubt you can uphold your title of The Symbol of Peace, especially with that frail body of yours," All for One said. "The fact that you have that silly costume on is even more surprising, I do hope you're not trying to do more superhero work."
"You're awfully chatty," All Might said.
"Forgive me, I just haven't had anyone to talk to in a while," All for One said.
"I want answers," All Might said. "For starters, where is Tomura Shigaraki?"
"I have no idea," All for One said. "Unlike your bird, mine was ready to leave the nest."
"What about The Brotherhood? Why were they seen associated with Shigaraki?" All Might asked. "Is Magneto coming out of retirement?"
"I haven't really had a chance to speak to Eric much these days, he's too busy running the island of Genosha," All for One said. "His Brotherhood were the ones who reached out to me, four of them at least. I do not know where The Blob is. As for Eric's twins-"
"Quicksilver is with The Avengers, he won't be joining your Sinister League," All Might said.
"Do you expect me to believe that? After the drama Wanda Maximoff has caused in the past?" All for One said. "Why, it was about ten years ago when she put that hex on the world, wasn't it? Everyone in a deep sleep, dreaming the most wonderful things. What was in your dream All Might? Nana Shimura perhaps?"
"Watch it!" All Might warned.
"Oh right, that's such a touchy topic for all the superheroes, if I recall, they wanted Wanda Maximoff punished," All for One said. "Pietro is very loyal to his sister. If given the choice, who do you think he would side with? Those who want his sister put away forever? Or the only family he loves?"
"You would twist it that way" All Might said. "What are you even planning now anyway? Your body should have died long ago, but you preserved, and you spend your days manipulating and exploiting people, toying with innocent lives for no reason. Why?"
"This old thing again," All for One said. "Even if I told you my reason, would you even be satisfied? Some people just never understand each other. You and I, are two sides of the same coin, you long to be the hero of justice, I long to be an all powerful demon. I had an ideal, and the power to see it enacted. If I could live forever inside my dream, why begrudge it to make it a reality."
"Why do you even need a successor then?" All Might asked.
"Did you of all people really ask me that? How humorous," All for One said, chuckling to himself. "You took everything from me. Look at my body, kept alive only by tubes and machines. Your presence made my infinite potential feel finite. It makes sense to pass on your work when you know the end is near. Think of it like an inheritance, an estate passed down from generation to generation. I'm just trying to do what everyone else on this planet is doing."
"You have three minutes left, All Might," a guard said.
"Oh don't put a damper on things, I'm enjoying this conversation," All for One said. "All Might, I would think the world is pretty shaken up by your retirement. How does life on the outside look?"
"We're keeping him isolated from the news, please refrain from giving him any information," the guard said.
"You heard the man," All Might replied.
"Oh it's fine, I have quite the imagination anyway," All for One began. "Right now the media is concerned about your absence, mixed with the concern regarding Endeavor being de facto leader, it makes them worry about hero society. I mean, even with Spider-Man around, after the beating I dealt to him, how many people can trust him to keep them safe? Even Superman was brought down by my hands, a big reminder to all that he is not as invincible as made out to be. If he can bleed, he can die. Right now those lurking in the shadows are listening in closely, they sense the growing instability due to your absence and are prone to act. They plan to band together and change how the world works. I think Tomura and his group, along with The Brotherhood, will continue to hide for the time being, to make sure they're the ones who rise to the top. Everyone wants to increase their influence, so there might be some fighting among the factions. If the scenario I just described plays out like I intended it to, then I know everything that goes on outside of these walls. The best part is that any rise in crime can be attributed to your faded strength. Now you stay helpless in the sidelines, doomed to watch society fall apart due to your arrogance. Tell me hero, how does that make you feel?"
All Might angrily stood up, looking ready to strike, something the guards feared, "All Might, please do not approach the glass."
"That's all I needed to hear, I can just sense the animosity emanating from you," All for One said. "You really want to punch me, don't you?"
"You think you know everything, don't you? As always, you underestimate people," All Might began. "You want Shigaraki, my master's own descendant to kill me, and possibly Young Midoriya. That's your plot, isn't it?"
"Perhaps," All for One said.
"I am not dying anytime soon, especially not by Shigaraki's hand!" All Might delcared. "I will live on much longer, I will not let the future you imagine come to pass."
"You said you came to set a few things straight," All for One said. "But I can tell this is why you really came, to feed me that line."
"Time's up sir, please exit," a guard said, opening the door as All Might immediately turned to leave.
"I'll make sure you plans don't happen, while you watch helpless from the cell for the rest of your days" All Might said. "Oh, and for the record, Spider-Man's determination stands strong, if you thought I was a detriment to your plan, well now you may have made things personal with him, and you've seen the hurdles he's leapt to bring tyranny down. Your hopes of winning are futile."
All for One sinisterly laughed off All Might's claims, "That sounds like a challenge to me."
As All Might drove off alongside Tsukauchi, he received a text message from Izuku, one that brought a smile to his face. He can see that the boy had gotten his license, "Good on you, Young Midoriya."
Back at the Class A alliance building, everyone was talking about the summer vacation they had, plus the upcoming schedule.
"Back to regular classes tomorrow," Momo said. "No rest for heroes."
"I will never forget this summer," Tokoyami said.
"Same, a lot happened," Flurry said. "Weird summer though, in most places, Summer means more time off, but I guess Japan just rolls differently. I mean, classes even seem to be on a Saturday, that's just insane."
Izuku kept looking at his phone, wondering to himself, "Did All Might get my message? It's been a while since he's replied."
"Still glued to your phone?" Mayday asked, getting his attention.
"Oh yeah, I want to see if All Might had anything to say about me getting my license," Izuku said.
"Oh, I can already imagine it," Mayday puffed her chest out as she did her best to imitate All Might's voice. "Great work, Young Midoriya! You've made this old hero so proud! Keep it up, and you'll be one of the greats!"
"Wow, that was actually pretty cool," Izuku said.
"My gift of lightheartedness comes from my dad," Mayday said.
"Speaking of whom, has your dad mentioned anything about that girl?" Izuku asked.
"Not since I saw him today, best not to worry about it, nothing we can do," Mayday said. "I'm just more worried in knowing that a potential villain snuck in, I mean, she could have been a spy for that Shigaraki guy."
"Yeah, that'd be bad," Izuku said.
"What do you mean 'That'd be bad'!?" Mayday said in a mock angry voice. "You're getting points off for that one kid!"
"Uh...right, I need to work on that," Izuku said, worried about having not broken that habit.
"I'm just messing with you, Izuku," Mayday said. "You're allowed to laugh."
"Right, sorry, I know you were joking," Izuku said. "I'm just worried about that girl."
"Well consider this line of info. My dad knows about the girl, he told the license agency, he told Mr. Aizawa, security should increase, plus he's got a lot of help on this," Mayday said. "Gotta say, I still can't believe that imposter girl stripped naked in front of us, how could anyone be that shameless? I'm almost certain she wanted to seduce you or something because, while I'm straight as an arrow, even I gotta admit, that was one awesome body, squishable boobs and curvy hips."
"Please don't talk about that in public, I don't need anymore pestering," Izuku said. "Between Kaminari, Mineta, and even Iceman, things just got so awkward talking about it."
"Between her and me though...do you think she had a nicer pair of boobs?" Mayday asked.
"Mayday!" Izuku shouted in annoyance.
"Fine, tell me later," Mayday said, annoying Izuku more.
"Oh Flurry, now that we're home, what's all this about different timelines and junk?" Kirishima asked.
"Oh right, well do you believe in Time Travel?" Flurry asked.
"I mean...it's not too impossible," Kirishima said.
"Well, it's been done, a few times actually," Flurry said. "That's how Trunks met another version of himself. Except that Trunks is nicer, and a better fighter."
"Wait, so if Time Travel exists, does that mean any of us can go back and fix mistakes?" Kaminari asked.
"Changing the past doesn't affect our timeline, it just creates a new one with that result," Flurry Heart said. "Changing what's already happened in near impossible, unless you have REALLY good magic. That's why multiple timelines exist, and multiple universes."
Izuku overheard this, his curiosity piquing, "Mayday, is that correct?"
"Yeah, Time Travel is possible, my mom did it once and created a really annoying Time Loop," Mayday said. "Then it happened again with her friend Starlight Glimmer, back when they were enemies. Doctor Strange can do so too, helps him make some good bargains."
"Uh…neat," Izuku did not understand that joke.
"If you want good time travel stories, check with the X-Men," Mayday said. "They'll you all about their Days of Future, Past."
"So Flurry, you mean to tell us that there are many possibilities?" Momo asked. "And that Time Travel is a result of that?"
"A little, the multiverse exists, but it's not all Time Travel," Flurry said. "It's really complicated, even I don't fully get it, but it's there. One day Uncle Peter can tell you about his own time travel adventures, like when he met a future Spider-Man named Miguel O'Hara."
Sounds dope," Kaminari said.
"But what about Trunks? What's the deal with his future?" Kirishima asked.
"Well, according to Uncle Peter, in one timeline, robots took over the world," Flurry Heart said. "All the heroes were killed by Sentinels and Ultron Droids, along with twin Cyborgs, Androids 17 and 18."
"...Are they Androids? Or Cyborgs?" Momo asked.
"Aren't they the same thing?" Kaminari asked.
"No, a Cyborg would be part human and part machine, similar to Victor Stone of The Teen Titans," Momo said. "An Android is a robot that's humanoid, like the previously mentioned Ultron."
"Well, they were initially human, I don't know why they're called Androids," Flurry said.
"Also about Ultron, he's one of The Avengers' villains, isn't he?" Jiro asked.
"Yeah, he was created to be a hero, programmed with humanity's safety in mind," Flurry said. "But, his conclusion was that humans were self-destructive, and the only true way to save them was to eliminate them."
"Uh...what?" Kaminari asked.
"Yeah, Hank Pym made a few mistakes," Flurry said.
"What about those sentinel things?" Kirishima asked.
"Back when quirks weren't so common, a man named Howard Trask created Sentinels to basically keep quirk users in line," Flurry said. "Just to prevent them from taking over the world. But his inventions fell into the wrong hands and they were used to eliminate anyone who had powers."
"How heartless," Tokoyami said.
"Yeah, why would someone even invent something like that?" Mina asked.
"Well, people were afraid of superpowers at one point, it's why Magneto became a villain, to fight back against it," Flurry said.
"Wait, how did that make Magneto a villain?" Kaminari asked.
"He wanted to eliminate all quirkless people, so he's just as bad," Flurry said. "Two wrongs don't make a right."
"That is quite accurate," Momo said.
"What about those Cyborgs?" Mineta asked. "Or Androids, whatever they are."
"Oh they were made from two orphaned kids by an evil scientist named Doctor Gero," Flurry said.
"Gero? What is he a frog?" Kaminari asked, then turned to Tsuyu. "Uh, no offense Tsu."
"It's fine, I was a bit curious myself," Tsuyu said.
"He's not a frog," Flurry said. "He's a mad scientist who worked for the Red Ribbon Army to create Androids. He's the same guy who created Cell."
"Cell? That monster from years ago?" Kaminari asked.
"The very same, he too was a result of Time Travel shenanigans," Flurry said. "As for those Cyborg Twins, from what I've been told, they were programmed to kill Son Goku."
"Goku? You mean The Great Saiyaman's father?" Kirishima asked. "Why Goku?"
"Because Goku destroyed The Red Ribbon Army and Gero wanted revenge," Flurry said. "They were programmed to kill Goku, then all the heroes and take over the world. Of course in their timeline, Goku was already dead from a Heart Virus. The twins still caused trouble though."
"Sucks for Goku, glad he's still alive in our timeline," Kirishima said. "But it sounds like that Gero guy might have been one step closer to taking over the world."
"Actually, they killed Gero," Flurry said. "And did their own thing for many years after that."
"They turned against their own creator?" Mineta asked.
"Well he did kidnap them," Flurry said. "Some AI are that dangerous. Not all of them are bad, androids like Vision and Mega Man are nice robots who keep the world safe at least."
"Think I've heard of both those guys," Kirishima said.
"You said 17 and 18," Kaminari said. "What about the other numbers?"
"Well, there was a Sixteen, but he turned good," Flurry said. "He got destroyed by Cell, though."
"Oh, bummer," Kirishima said.
"There's a Nineteen, he was evil but Vegeta destroyed him," Flurry said.
"Go Vegeta," Kaminari said.
"Then there's Android 20, Doctor Gero himself after he made some modifications," Flurry said. "He's dead, 17 and 18 killed him in this timeline too."
"That guy was screwed no matter what he did," Mineta said.
"I think there's an Android 21, but she's also a cyborg," Flurry said. "She's not human though, according to Uncle Peter, she was a type of demon lady, a Majin."
"Majin?" Kirishima asked. "That name sounds really familiar."
"It does..." Flurry said, feeling discomfort. "Anyway, in the future, Trunks was the big hero. He actually came back in time to warn everyone, along with a guy named Forge."
"Forge?" Kirishima asked.
"He's a member of the X-Men," Flurry said. "He has a very unusual quirk. He's capable of inventing great things, but he does so on autopilot."
"Autopilot?" Kirishima asked.
"Yeah, like he can build so many great machines, but only after he basically turns his brain off," Flurry said. "Then when he's done, he snaps out of it and doesn't even remember how he built the machine. He has to reverse engineer it to figure it out."
"Sounds inconviniet," Mineta said.
"Oh man..." Izuku said, having heard everything. "Wish I had my Journal, that quirk sounds so interesting."
"When Trunks came back, he thought he could change the timeline," Flurry continued. "He found out later of course that he can't. His future's still bad, but he managed to destroy the robots, so they were safe."
"Until Goku Black showed up," Mayday said.
"Huh? Goku Black?" Izuku asked.
"Long story," Mayday said. "This goes to God level stuff."
"You!" Bakugo shouted, getting the attention of the two, and startling the other students.
"Oh, hey Kacchan," Izuku said.
"What do you want? We're talking," Mayday said.
"This doesn't concern you, web girl, this concerns Deku," Bakugo said.
"What, you gonna talk down to him? Huh? Do like my dad said? Treat him like shit just because you failed?" Mayday said, this catching the class's attention. "Izuku's got nothing to talk to you about so take a hike."
"Mayday it's fine, let him talk," Izuku said.
"Better listen to your boyfriend," Bakugo warned. "I'm not in the best mood, so don't push my limits."
"Do I look like I'm afraid of you, Katsuki?" Mayday said.
"Hey easy there Parker, take a chill pill," Kaminari said.
"Bakugo's already had a bad day," Kirishima said. "Plus no one's in the mood to hear you two arguing, again."
"That's his own damn fault," Mayday said, focusing back on Bakugo. "This is a big moment for Izuku, something he's looked forward to for years! I'm not letting you take away his joy, whatever you want to say to him, it can wait, or better yet, keep it to yourself, he doesn't want to-"
"Mayday, enough," Izuku said, getting her attention. "Let me hear him out."
Mayday hesitantly stepped aside, not without taking her attention off Bakugo. "I got my eye on you."
"Tch, yeah whatever" Bakugo focused on Izuku.
"Well, you have my attention, what do you want from me?" Izuku asked.
"I need to speak to you later, in private. Meet me outside after dark," Bakugo said.
"Uh, Bakugo, pretty sure we have a curfew," Kirishima said.
"Quiet! This doesn't any of concern you!" Bakugo warned, focusing back on Izuku. "After dark, tonight, don't keep me waiting or I will come in and drag you out!"
Izuku nodded his head, "Fine, I'll see you then."
Bakugo angrily walked off, leaving Mayday concerned about his motivations, "You're not meeting him, are you?"
"Of course I am," Izuku said.
"You can't be serious, suppose he attacks you or something? He's teetering on the line between hero and villain, he might do away with you as a message before starting his own villainous league," Mayday said.
"Mayday, if he wanted to be a villain, he would have joined Shigaraki," Izuku said.
"I still say he has the potential," Mayday said. "Seriously though, don't go and see him."
"I have to though, something's bothering him and I have to know what it is," Izuku said. "Don't worry about me, just let me talk to Kacchan alone."
"Yeah, but..." Mayday tried protesting.
"Mayday, just let me handle this, I'll be fine! Please don't go into that overprotective mode you usually get into when it comes to me," Izuku pleaded.
Mayday huffed in annoyance, "Alright, I'll let you handle this. But I have ways of knowing things Izuku, nothing slips past me."
"I will be fine, Mayday," Izuku insisted. "Look, I need to call All Might, I'll talk to you in a minute."
Izuku made his leave, grabbing his phone as he hit the speed dial. Mayday groaned in annoyance, this was not alright by her standards.
"Hey Parker," Kirishima said, getting her attention. "It's good that you look out for Midoriya, but you really need to take it easy talking to Bakugo. His temper is bad as it is, you're just going to set him off."
"Of course his temper is bad, he's a spoiled brat," Mayday said. "He always steps on Izuku, always treats him like dirt, I don't tolerate that crap. My dad always tells me that bullying is not ok, that if someone sees someone else getting picked on, to do or say something. That's how I was brought up."
"I respect that, but that doesn't always work," Kirishima said. "Midoriya needs to handle things on his own, if Bakugo's bothering him, he needs to be the one to tell him to step off."
"If Izuku could, he would have done it by now, clearly he doesn't like confrontation," Mayday said. "According to what he said earlier, Izuku and Katsuki have known each other since they were four, that's eleven years. From what Izuku told my mom, Katsuki's always been like this, so that's over a decade of bad behavior, and over a decade Izuku's probably been bullied by that punk. Izuku's powers weren't even developed then, he was basically quirkless."
"Quirkless?" Tenya asked. "Oh yeah, Bakugo did say something regarding that once on the first day of school."
"Izuku's so used to Bakugo talking down to him that it's hard for him to stand up for himself, so I have to be there," Mayday said. "To fight for those who can't fight for themselves. It's what my dad did, it's what his uncle did, it's a Parker tradition to help others. It's my duty to take care of Izuku."
"Your duty?" Kirishima asked. "What are you, his big sister or something?"
"I'm his friend, and friends help friends, while you all stand aside awkwardly while Izuku gets picked on, I step up and tell Katsuki that's not ok," Mayday said.
"Hey, we don' just 'stand aside'," Kirishima said. "We just...well..."
"We're giving Deku the chance to fight for himself," Ochako said, speaking up. "What you're doing Mayday, is coddling him. He's going to end up relying on you to keep him safe and not be able to fight for himself, that's just going to hurt him in the long run."
"Yeah, what Uraraka said," Kirishima agreed. "Let Midoriya fight for himself. Even your mom agreed he should learn to stick up for himself."
"She also said you all add to that fuel. I mean look, maybe you're all fine with Izuku getting picked on, but I'm not," Mayday said.
"Did you even hear us? It's not about us standing aside and doing nothing!" Kirishima said. "I get what your mom was saying earlier, and honestly we don't care for the idea of Bakugo picking on Midoriya either. If things escalate, we'll be quick to help him out! I don't know what's happening between those two, but clearly it's personal, and butting in without knowing the full story is just going to be troubling."
"But I know the story, Katsuki has been picking on Izuku since childhood! It's probably Izuku gets so nervous all the time, all that bully probably screwed with his head!" Mayday said. "My dad got bullied as a kid and it messed with him even into adulthood. Those bullies are lucky I don't know where they currently live, otherwise I would break their bones! But I have a chance to protect Izuku, I'm not letting anyone take that from me. If you're going to tell me otherwise, you're no better than Katsuki. The only thing that's as bad as bullying, is sitting back and doing nothing like each of you have been doing."
"That's way harsh," Kaminari said.
"Yeah, you're being a bit mean, Mayday," Mina said.
"If a few not nice words made you feel this way, imagine how Izuku is feeling," Mayday said. "I'm so disappointed with all of you."
"You're being unfair!" Ochako said. "Plus honestly, sometimes you can be a little mean to us yourself, that isn't much different than what Bakugo does."
"Hey! At least I'm trying to be everyone's friend," Mayday said. "I know I came off as unlikable during the Sports Festival, but I'd like to think I've gotten better since then."
"Your attitude only improved because Midoriya called you on your crap, once you two got all chummy again, it seems like you kind of forgot that plan of yours," Kirishima said.
"Are you sure it's not because you're still salty about me calling Deadpool and Pinkie Pie to bring all of you home!?" Mayday said. "You're lucky you didn't get killed, or get in my dad's way! Actually you just might have given how distracted he and the other heroes were making sure none of you got hurt. My dad probably got beaten to near death because of your stupid rescue plan."
"Do NOT blame us for what happened to Spider-Man!" Kirishima warned.
"Hey if you're going to warp this little rivalry of Katsuki and Izuku to your viewpoint, I can easily warp what happened to my dad to my own viewpoint," Mayday said.
"Wow, I can't believe you would actually think such a thing," Ochako said.
"And I can't believe he has to take pity on a poor girl who can't even afford basic meals," Mayday said.
"Now who's being the bully!?" Kirishima said.
"You're not acting any differently than Bakugo at this point," Ochako said.
"Wow...so this is what it comes to," Mayday said. "Being told off by some macho tough guy and potential gold digger."
"Excuse me," Momo said, stepping forward with Jiro, Mina and Toru. "Sorry but this is where I draw the line, you're getting a bit carried away."
"Yeah Parker," Kaminari said, stepping over with Sato and Tokoyami. "If you're gonna be this way, then buzz off, we don't want you here."
"I knew you couldn't keep up this nice, girl thing," Jiro said.
"Are you freaking kidding me!?" Mayday asked. "Katsuki picks on Izuku, you dickheads sleep. I call out the BS and you want to gang up on me"
"You're not calling anything out! You're just whining and complaining about stuff!" Kirishima said.
"You really need to grow up Parker," Kaminari said.
"So uncouth," Momo scolded.
"You should be ashamed," Jiro said.
"So disappointing," Oujiro said.
"This is not befitting of a hero," Tokoyami said.
As everyone continued scolding Mayday, the girl felt a loud ringing in her head. Her heart rate was accelerating as her temper began to flare. Nothing but pure anger was rising to the surface as the ringing drove her nuts.
"SHUT UUUUUUPPP!" Mayday shouted, startling everyone as he immediately used her webbing to pull a couch over and flung it hard at her classmates, each of them ducking for cover as it crashed against a wall, leaving a massive crack as the wall started breaking apart.
"Cheese and Crackers!" Kaminari shouted.
"Mayday!" Tenya scolded. "That...was completely unacceptable, you could have hurt someone."
"I really don't give a flying fuck if someone got hurt!" Mayday shouted. "This class clearly wants to make an enemy out of me, so maybe that's what I'll be. If you thought I was bad before, just wait till you see me now! I have the power to make your lives a complete hell, and show you firsthand just how helpless Izuku's felt for so many years against Katsuku! And how helpless he still probably feels! Maybe then you'll-"
"Mayday, enough!" Flurry said, stepping forward. "I get that you're mad, believe me, I don't like Katsuki either. And I do agree, many of our classmates tend to brush it off. But how you're acting is just going to make it worse. I suggest you go outside and take a breath of fresh air before you carry on, you don't want to say anything you might regret later."
"Flurry, if you understand you should be just as livid as I am!" Mayday said.
"There's better ways to go about it, now please, go take a moment to calm your nerves, we'll talk about this rationally," Flurry said. "Remember, we're living together now, last thing we need is for anyone to feel like they're walking on eggshells around you."
Mayday still felt a bit heated, though she supposes that's why Flurry wants her to dial it back. However she still felt too angry to leave, something Flurry sensed and was ready to use her powers to calm Mayday's anger.
Seconds later, Mayday felt someone grabbing her hand, it was Tsuyu, the frog girl offering not a look of judgement, but one of empathy, "Please, listen to your cousin. If you stay angry, you might do something to get you expelled. It would make me sad if that happened."
Even Mayday couldn't resist the pureness of Tsuyu, arguably her favorite classmate. Taking a breath Mayday immediately made her leave, not saying another word as she stepped outside the dorms.
"That was so not cool," Mina said.
"Despicable," Momo said.
"Way too harsh," Kaminari said.
Ochako took a moment to collect herself, now wondering something, "Was it a good idea to say something? I really don't want Peter mad at me. Spoiled or not, Mayday is still his daughter. Still, how did such a nice man end up with a mean daughter?"
"That poor madmoiselle," Yuga commented. "Outcasted like a cat among dogs."
"Ahem!" Flurry said, getting their attention. "Are you all done!? Or do you have any other cheap crack to make against Mayday behind her back!? Bad enough you were all ganging up on her, probably started to scare her too."
"We scared her!?" Mina asked. "She threw a freaking couch at us!"
"Ever hear of the 'Fight or Flight' response?" Flurry asked. "When Mayday is scared, she fights. Believe it or not, you all frightened her, that's why she freaked out like that."
"Sorry Flurry, it's just, you know...she's mean," Kaminari said.
"That doesn't mean you should be," Flurry said. "I know Mayday's a handful but she's right about one thing, none of you do much regarding Katsuki. It's one thing to not want to make things worse but half the time you seem to praise his actions, or his tough guy persona. Like what's so endearing about that?"
"Well...he's rude but he speaks his mind, kind of hard not to respect that," Kaminari said.
"Back home this would have been frowned upon," Flurry said. "Back home he would have been properly disciplined. Equestria has its flaws but at least it works in favor against someone like Katsuki Bakugo."
"Sorry this isn't 'Friendship Land', but Mayday wasn't acting any better," Jiro said.
"Uh, 'Friendship Land'?" Flurry asked. "You have a problem with Friendship? What are you like everyone use who dismisses our home country as pansy like? Is Equestria not 'macho' enough?"
"Let's not delve into this," Tenya said. "Last thing we need is for there to be a culture clash. That is not what UA students heroes stand for. We respect cultures as we would want ours to be respected. Everyone, take a moment to clear your minds and be ready for bed. School resumes tomorrow and we need to be well rested."
"Fine by us," Jiro said.
"I'm beat anyway," Kirishima said. "This has been a super long day."
"I need to take time to clear my head too," Ochako said.
As everyone began to clear out, Mineta went and checked up on Flurry, "Sorry all that had to happen, you gonna be alright?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine, thanks Minoru," Flurry said.
"If you need company, that's what I'm here for," Mineta said.
"I know, you're a sweet boy," Flurry said, kissing Mineta on the cheek. "I'm gonna get myself a drink of lemonade, I'll bring you back some."
"Sure, sounds great," A love stricken Mineta said. "Sweet, it's working, faster than I thought. I give it a week before I'm in bed with her. Though, maybe I shouldn't worry about that since she's...wait, what am I thinking? Stay focused Mineta!"
Tsuyu looked a bit worried herself, she wanted to go check on Mayday and make sure she was cooling off just fine, but she also felt it better to give her a little time alone. "I've never seen her this mad before, I hope this doesn't affect our class dynamic, I'd hate it if everyone fell apart at this point."
Later outside while everyone was asleep, Izuku followed Bakugo to wherever it was he wanted to take him, though not without questions.
"Kacchan, where are we going? We shouldn't be walking out this late," Izuku said, getting no answer. "Uh...Kacchan?"
All Bakugo could think about is the early days, when Izuku would always follow him around everywhere, praising his powers while Bakugo was convinced Izuku would never reach his stature.
Unbeknownst to the two, Mayday was following them, a look of anger and determination on her face, mixed with rage and fury in her eyes. Regardless of what Izuku said, she couldn't just leave this alone.
The two arrived in the fake city in front of a building that Izuku found very familiar.
"This is ground Beta," Izuku pointed out.
"Yes, this is where we had our first combat training, where I fought you and lost," Bakugo said. "You've always pissed me off, but I know that's not a surprise to you."
"So, this is it then," Izuku theorized.
"You were useless, no power at all, a complete joke," Bakugo said. "So tell me, how did you end up in this school with a quirk that appeared out of nowhere?"
"Right, One for All, I let it slip once accidentally," Izuku recalled.
"What you said back then made no damn sense, about getting your power from someone else," Bakugo said. "You just kept climbing higher and higher, always so satisfied. It started when you rescued web girl from that sludge villain, actually it was when All Might came to town, and the first time Spider-Man returned to Japan. You just got better and better, and you ended up passing the licensing exam while I didn't, how the hell is that even possible!?"
"Of course he's gonna be bitchy about it," Mayday observed, hiding nearby.
"It wasn't a matter of ability though," Izuku insisted. "It was-"
"Just shut your damn mouth nerd! I wasn't done talking!" Bakugo snapped.
"Uh...sorry," Izuku said, reeling back.
"Losing to a pathetic weakling pissed me off," Bakugo said. "But after what happened to All Might at Kamino Ward, I began to understand."
"So, does he know or not?" Mayday wondered.
"I've been thinking, and I'm pretty sure you got your quirk from All Might, is that right?" Bakugo asked. "I heard about that boss villain, apparently he can steal a quirk and give it to someone else, which sounds crazy, but one of those cat ladies lost her power and can no longer work. You met All Might and started changing, then he lost his power and retired like that cat. Then he said 'it's your turn' after he beat the big bad. You knew what he meant. There's more evidence, like those Nomu monsters having multiple quirks, which is normally impossible, one of the only examples of that happening being about 17 years ago with that monster, Cell, and that took a lot of work. Also All Might and that boss villain knew each other before that fight. All Might knows the guy who can move quirks around, and it connects to you getting your quirk from someone else.
"Katsuki's a lot smarter than I give him credit for," Mayday felt. "Guess the evidence really piles on sometimes, even when the answer is right under your nose, it's not always clear unless you look hard into it. That's my dad's theory on how he was able to get by back when he had a secret identity."
"I tried asking All Might, but he wouldn't give me a straight answer," Bakugo continued. "So you're going to tell me."
Izuku looked a bit nervous, not sure if he should confirm or deny it, and wondering how All Might would take it.
"You're not trying to deny anything, which means I must be right," Bakugo said. "Tell me, now. Or should I find that web girl? Given how close Spider-Man's been to all this, I wouldn't be surprise if he or his little girl know too."
"Ironic, I didn't find out until Katsuki did," Mayday recalled. "And my dad didn't find out until the other day, but Katsuki's really going all Batman with this detective work."
"I knew this was possible, it's why I should have followed All Might's instructions," Izuku felt, then glared at Bakugo. "What if it's true?"
Bakugo glared hard at Izuku, "You and I wanted to be just like All Might growing up. But I had all the potential, so how did a simple nobody like you get the power of the person I admired most? This is why we're here, we're settling this here and now."
"I don't think so!" Mayday shouted, making her presence known.
"Mayday!?" Izuku shouted in surprise.
"Well look who we have here, just couldn't leave Deku's side for five minutes," Bakugo said.
"You're not fighting Deku, you're fighting me," Mayday said. "And this time, none of the pros are going to save you from the beating I'm about to dish out."
