Sorry

Set during Becca && Jakes wedding! What would have happened if Becca had ran out screaming, 'I'm sorry!'

xx

Becca Hayton ran down the aisle, almost tripping up in her high heeled shoes. She could feel everyone's eyes on the back of her head as she stormed out of the church in tears, including Jakes. She felt sickened with herself. Why had she had to hurt him so? What had he done to deserve that? And on their wedding day ...

His wedding day. Not hers.

Becca was very fond of Jake, but alas, It had suddenly dawned on her that she had been blind all of this time. She didn't want to be with him. She didn't want to marry him. She didn't love him.

Wiping the tears from her eyes, Becca ran on down the path, her blonde curls swishing about in the wind. It was then, of course, that she caught sight of Justin.

Becca suddenly felt a pang of sadness towards him. He'd just lost his best friend, his sort of brother, Ali, and he was being cornered by the police and getting accused. He'd also told her he loved her this morning ...

Becca walked over to him. He was sitting alone on a bench, his head in his hands. A brown envelope Becca supposed were his GCSE results was in his lap. She sat down beside him. "Justin?" She said softly.

Justin did not look at her for a moment. His head was still in his hands. Then, he looked up at her. His eyes were red, he'd obviously been crying. Becca felt so sorry for him it was untrue. He looked like such a lonely little kid.

"What happened?" He asked, though there was no trace of emotion in his voice, "Where's Jake?"

Becca stiffened, "He- I- I didn't go through with it." She said, her voice trembling. Justin sighed and shook his head.

"He didn't want you anyway." He said, his voice still emotionless. When Becca said nothing, he said, "Why didn't you go through with it?"

"I- Oh, I don't love him, Justin," Becca said exasperatedly, "I don't know what to do! They'll all be out here In a minute! Oh, god, oh god oh god oh god ..."

"It's OK, just tell them what you told me," Justin said soothingly, patting her on the back. Becca looked at the brown envelope.

"What- what did you get?" She stammered through sobs. Justin sighed and picked up the envelope, handing it to her.

For a moment, Becca seemed to calm down as she look the letter inside of the envelope up and down, "Alot of D's, Justin," She said coolly, "But atleast you managed a B."

Justin laughed, "Well, I guess I wasn't exactly top of the class, Becca," He said. Becca laughed too and then she remembered.

"Oh god, what am I going to tell them?" She exclaimed, glancing back over at the church, "They'll be out looking for me any minute!"

"Listen- don't worry about them Becca, alright? If they thought you'd even want to get married they obviously don't know you like I do." Justin said reassuringly. Becca stared at him for a moment. Then she was suddenly angry with him.

"What? Know me? Honestly! You don't know me atall, Justin!" She said angrily, making to stand up, but Justin interupted her.

"I do, Becca, honestly. I knew you wouldn't go through with It, and what did you do? Not go through with it." He said cassually. Becca stared at him for a moment and then sighed.

"I guess you're right, Justin," She sighed, "But, hang on- How did you know I wouldn't go through with it?"

"'Cos you love me," Justin said coolly, looking back over at the church.

Becca's eyes widened, "What?"

"You love me."

"I do not!"

"Yeah, you do."

Becca hesitated. Did she? I mean, they were talking about a sixteen year old she'd once taught when he had been at school. How could she possibly-

Justin leaned forward and kissed her.

It seemed hours, weeks, no, maybe even months or years, before they broke apart. Becca stared longily at him for a moment before plucking up the courage to speak.

"Um, OK, I love you, then." She murmered, and the two of them laughed.
