Ludus: Love focused on fun, and sometimes also on conquest, with no strings attached.

Chapter 5: Aftermaths.

The first quidditch match was near, everybody forgot all the important things in the world (the huge troll that entered the castle last Halloween, for example) and started only thinking about quidditch, everybody's favourite sport… except for Hermione.

Potter, one of her least favourite housemates was the seeker of her team, and two of Ron Weasley's brothers were in the team too, but to be fair all the Weasley weren't bad, she liked the prefect Percy Weasley.

She wouldn't had even go if Draco hadn't insisted, but right before the first match...

'Are you telling me you don't want me to sit with you!?' Hermione yelled.

'It's not that, it's just that my classmates don't like you very much,' Draco explained.

That wasn't a surprise to her, but if he was going to drag her into the stadium to see the game he'd like her to at least be able to watch it with him.

'Then, why would I go?' she asked.

'Because you have never seen a game before, you will love it, I promise' he said.

'And you always keep your promises,' she said sarcastically.

It was the day of the game, Draco went with Goyle.

'Where is Crabbe?' he asked.

'He went with Zabini and his friends' Goyle said sadly.

Draco didn't get the implication.

'Strange, I thought Zabini was ignoring us' he said innocently.

'He is ignoring us' he explained 'He said something about don't wanting be the minion of a mudblood lover'

Draco didn't expect that, Crabbe ever did what he wanted him to do and then he was betraying him, one of his oldest friends, betraying him, well he wouldn't know he hurted he was, The Malfoys never look beated.

'I didn't like him anyways' he said nonchalantly, not even Goyle was convinced.

Draco went to the stadium, he heard some whispers ('I heard he punched the mudblood friend so strongly that forced him to eat his own teeth.' 'I heard that after the punch Malfoy died for some second and he revived when he touched the ground' 'Well, I heard that Longbotton said that he will kill Malfoy if he ever talks with him again.') he tried to ignore them as he tried to ignore his traitor friends Crabbe and Pansy who were seated next to Zabini.

While trying to find a seat, Draco accidentally brushed against Zabini. 'Don't touch me' he cried 'I don't wanna have whatever you catched with the mudblood' he said.

'Considering how many step-fathers do you have I would be surprised if you and your mother haven't had some kind of parasite yet' he replied. 'By the way, when is the next funeral?'

'How dare you, blood traitor,' Zabini yelled. 'Why do you not go to sit with your mudblood girlfriend?'

He and Crabbe laughed.

'Don't look hurted'

'Talking about traitors… hi Crabbe, are you having fun kissing Zabini butt?' Draco asked.

'The same can be said about you and the mudblood' Zabini responded.

Draco drawed his wand.

'Don't use that word' Draco spat.

'Ha, a muggle lover,' Zabini said 'You don't belong to Slytherin. Why do you don't go to Gryffindor with your mudblood girlfriend and your blood traitor friends? you…'

Draco attacked him, Crabbe and Goyled started fighting too, while Pansy was crying and trying to find someone that can stop the fight.

Professor Snape didn't do anything because he was too focused on Potter and his crazy broom.

'Merlin, are you okay Draco?' Hermione asked, shocked, his friend had a very big an ugly purple eye, because (he admitted) Zabini kicked his booty.

'Yeah, I only have a fight with some slytherins… nothing important'

'It looks important, if they did this you have to tell a teacher' she said.

'I don't wanna, besides, I started' he admitted to made her forget it.

'Why?' she asked, worried.

'Zabini said I don't belong to Gryffindor, because my best friend is a mudblood… that's the word that he used' Draco added quickly when he saw Hermione's offended face.

'Why being my friend makes you less a slytherin, it makes you less cunning or ambitious?' she asked.

'No… but Draco said 'You are… some people… in slytherin some people think you are inferior to us because you are a muggleborn' he explained 'that's why they call you like that.

Silence

So Hermione responded 'That it's stupid'

'Hermione'

'I mean, inferior in what?' she asked 'I have the best grades of the year'

'It's not that' he said

'Then what, can you think in one think I'm inferior than a wizard that you know'

He opened his mouth, but he didn't say anything, he thought for some seconds and said 'You don't know many things about the magical culture'

'And what? I can learn, if that 's the problem, why nobody is teaching that to the muggleborn?'

'Because…' he didn't say anything, he didn't know the answer.

'If I were raised by the wizards they would still hate me?' she asked

'Yes'

'Why?'

'Because you will still be different' he said.

'Different in what?

Silence.

'What was that word that they used, mudblood, right, if you touch me you will get dirty? I will fall apart?' she asked, she extended her hand, Draco first didn't do anything, he wasn't sure what she wanted, he quickly found out, he nervously took her hand and passed his fingers in her palm.

'There is some difference?' Hermione asked.

'No, I guess not' Draco murmured

'But then, why does everybody always tell me the opposite?' he asked himself.

It didn't make sense

'There must be something, all those wizard, including my parents can't be wrong'

At least she was her equal, both intellectually and academically.

'If there is something, then is Hermione an exception?'

'Hmm… Draco' Hermione said, embarrassed.

'Yeah?'

' You can let go of my hand now' she said blushing.

How long has he been…?

He quickly let her go and blushed.

He wrote a letter to his parents, asking why the muggleborns are different from them, if it's possible an exception and what if he found one.

He didn't mention all the other things.

'What was what you wanted to show me?' Draco asked, they were in an empty classroom.

'Well.. you said that they don't like me because I don't know their culture, I think that is garbage, but I need to adapt and If I actually offend some people not knowing about their culture, right, then I thought, why don't I learn it? My best friend can teach me,' Hermione said very excitedly.

'Ok, then…'

'Then I thought, I'm not the only muggleborn in Hogwarts' she continued 'Every year four new muggleborn come to the castle,' it sounds like nothing but they are like a ten percent of the students of each year 'Then I thought, they need to learn too, so I founded The Rational Allowance in the Wizarding World, or RAWW, to abbreviate.'

Draco's first question was 'You named your group "Raw"?'

'Is not 'raw' it is 'RAWW, you will teach the muggleborn to adapt to the magic society, but now I need you to help me to make badges and flyers' she said. 'I need thirty to begin'

'Stop right there, why do you think I want to be part of it?' he asked.

'Because I'm your best friend and you broke your promise to stop messing with Neville, so you need to recover my trust' she smiled innocently.

'You are a manipulative little witch, you know?' Draco responded.

'Yes, I do,' she said proudly. Draco sighed, he was definitely a bad influence to her 'Well, let's not waste time, there's a lot to be done.'
