[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]
"... Kayblis, you want to go alone?" Shadow asked, her red eyes observing his back.
"This is personal." He replied, never looking back, and then moved forwards, out to the army with his party members and many other people behind him watching his back.
They believed he could resolve a conflict that is about to come to them either peacefully or with force. And the villagers hoped it was the former.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A force of 20,000 Dracorellian Soldiers with the Cult of Kayblis' sigil marched towards a village, with the intention of turning it into another branch for the base of operations.
"Everything is going on smoothly as planned by the Herr Heiliger." A general spoke out proudly while he drove his arsenal forward with his army following.
However, he and his men stopped when he and a few hundred of his men noticed a boy walking towards them without fear of anything.
Was he suicidal?
The general used a gesture in order to make his units hold their fire. And then, he approached the platinum haired Lis Human with his arsenal, it's steps making a small rumble on the ground.
His arsenal is the DS-2301 Prototype, despite being a prototype, is already strong enough to singlehandedly destroy high-classed arsenals. It was 5 Meters tall, and is straight out armed to the teeth, with four, 2.75 foot long cannons installed on his shoulders, several Missile Pods on its back, two chainguns on its left arm, and two currently inactive blades on the other arm that can be used for melee combat.
It also has a few other functions, too.
However...
While he and the platinum haired boy approached each other, the latter drew his sword and pointed it at him.
"Please surrender. I really don't like to kill my own people that much." He spoke, no, ordered as he was not once intimidated by the size and the weapons he had.
"You're bold to be ordering me like that, however, who even are you? But before that, I am General Barte, leader of this batallion." When the general asked this, the boy suddenly grinned confidently.
"I'm Kayblis. The one who will resolve this stupid hundred year conflict between Dracorell and Eikoln! And, your god in mortal flesh!" Kayblis declared, hoping it would convince them.
There was silence for a moment.
"You're serious?" The general snickered, and then proceeded to laugh at Kayblis inside his arsenal. Of course, his men were speechless.
"Of course I'm serious! Anyways, you should just give up and surrender to me, or just lose your life in a meaningless cause that only needs death and destruction." Kayblis warned them one last time.
And then they laughed.
"... Violence it is." Kayblis did warn them, and he wasn't going to them another chance. Kayblis could try convincing the other people though, once he's done killing most of them until the remaining ones surrender. None needed to escape.
He charged towards the gigantic Arsenal, intent on cutting it down with Balmung, and Barte, aware that Kayblis was going to fight him, decided to press specific buttons once the arsenal is locked on to him.
Then, the missile pods launched many of their missiles, intent on intercepting and hitting Kayblis, yet once they were close, Kayblis cut them in halves, making them explode behind him.
The chainguns, effective at mowing down hundreds of units, were rendered useless upon the barriers that Kayblis conjured.
And the claw blades were just parried away.
Kayblis also decided to deactivate the cannons by cutting them down.
"Huh, never thought Balmung was this sharp. Maybe it's just my strength at just Level 3? Anyways, I'm ending you and your Arsenal immediately!" Kayblis declared, as he kicked the Arsenal, toppling it over.
The soldiers and even Barte were all shocked and even horrified. A powerful arsenal that is just recently made was being destroyed easily by someone claiming himself as their god!
When Kayblis landed on the ground, he grabbed Balmung's blade with one hand, and traced it to the blade's edge, empowering it in the process as it was now surrounded by a dark crimson aura, the sword's runes were glowing, and it was a fresh experience to him.
"It's time for my finishing move!" Kayblis yelled, twirling his blade in a flashy fashion, before immediately charging at the Arsenal.
The Arsenal was too late to dodge, as Kayblis swung Balming with the intention to cleave the robo. And then he did. After three cleaving slashes, he used another, more powerful upwards slash that launched himself 10 feet to the air, and then he quickly slammed Balmung down to the ground with him following, causing a wild burst of energy to erupt for several hundred meters.
Although the army surrendered, 7,482 were killed by the blast of energy in the process.
Everything else was tense after this event, as Kayblis commented that the sigils of the supposed Cult of Kayblis that all of the soldiers have are merely fakes and should be burnt until ashes remain. He was offended that they even disobeyed a few rules that the soldiers that were forced out of the cult didn't even know about.
They were pardoned, by the cost of gaining forgiveness from him and the villagers.
While all that happened, Shadow gained a small smile.
"I see... You and I even are pretty similar from your actions alone, Kayblis. I'm glad I met such an interesting individual such as you." She muttered, being reminded of herself before she became the Demon King, leading Lis, Circles, and Magballs alike.
Although there was a frown on her face, that only lasted for an entire second, before she started following Kayblis again.
[ ~ Part 2 ~ ]
"... Hey, Shadow. You look down all of a sudden, what happened?" Kayblis asked Shadow, who was staring at the ground while she sat down.
The woman tugged on his shirt, and then he sat down beside her. She seemed to want (or maybe need) something from Kayblis.
Currently, they were on the grassy ground outside Deo Village, under the waning crescent of the moon, several hours after the quick battle from Kayblis and the Former Dracorellian Traitors now under Kayblis's command.
Shadow tilted her head towards Kayblis, her expression being that of pure sadness, as if she had lost everything, except himself.
"Do you want all races to unite and make this world peaceful?" She asked, as if she was impatient at finding out an answer.
"No. You wanted to know why? Once you realize that nothing else would happen afterwards, you'd get bored. Really bored that you'd yawn and would want to start another conflict instead." Kayblis replied in an almost nonchalant manner.
Shadow looked at the moon, holding back her emotions that bubbled up on her chest, recounting the memories that she shared with her original body.
"... So you knew that world peace is impossible to be truly achieved. It's worthless. Maybe that was the reason that I am at fault for all of their- my people's deaths." She made a sad smile in realization, and Kayblis was quite speechless, yet made an effort to pull her closer to him, their shoulders pressed, and Kayblis reaching up to comb the much older woman's hair in a comforting manner.
"They? Your people?" Kayblis asked, before he was held tightly by her. It caused his bones to creak, and it felt a little painful. It was not painful enough to tear his muscles or crack his bones.
"Haha... I was the cause of all their suffering! I caused my own self to suffer in loneliness and pure solitude, being filled with nothing but grief, sorrow, madness, anger, and resentment through the curse given to me by the supreme gods!" She cried out as tears were flowing from her eyes.
Her face looked... ugly at this moment, so Kayblis had picked the choice that he would just hug her.
"Cry it all out. With me, you're not longer alone, in permanent solitude until your death." He spoke out, and Shadow did for an entire hour, before she became silent and Kayblis had his shirt wet from all her tears.
Shadow, was technically what had now become of Kkulf Kkulf - a shadow of her former self, and with Kayblis here, she doesn't feel alone and in silent solitude anymore. She's found hope through him.
Shadow let out a cry that let out her emotions.
She didn't need to tell everything, however, as the older woman eventually fell asleep with her head resting on Kayblis's lap.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And Later on, Kayblis started to consult with Stella Dracorell.
"You're saying that Dracorell would become a vassal kingdom to Eikoln as a part of our agreement?" (St)
"Technically, yes." (KB)
"... I'm not sure I would rule the kingdom, as I am nothing more than a worthless princess-" Stella was completely down and didn't want to take her role as the princess, so Kayblis was completely annoyed by this.
"Sheesh, stop that you utter fool. You might as well dishonor your entire family and your ancestors and even me if you think like that and live under that shame and regret until you die. Do you really want to live like that?" Kayblis sternly spoke, a frown present on his face as Stella flinched and looked at him.
Her eyes widened as Kayblis turned his back towards her.
"I'll wait for your decision whether to hold on to your honor or live with the lower class with s. I won't blame you for that, kid. Forgive me for my earlier act of anger." He then walked outside the house where Stella currently lived.
"Wait!" Stella cried out, and Kayblis halted.
She seemed to gain a steel hard resolve through her eyes.
"For my family, and for our kingdom, and for it's people... I will do my best to make this Kingdom rise from it's ashes."
After she said that, Kayblis turned around and used his [Law Breaker] skill to...
"Potential Unseal, Level 1." He gently spoke, as a gentle glow engulfed Stella, making her mind clearer, and her body and spirit stronger.
He had used an unknown spell probably exclusive to himself. And Stella could only stand there, before shaking her head and making a serious expression.
"Consider that a gift for showing your resolve. Don't disappoint me." He declared, and after that he walked towards the brigade that he leads outside of Deo Village, with several of his party members waiting for him.
The princess would most likely leave the village a week later, he predicted they'd also meet while he is in the process of rescuing Eikolnian and Dracorellian Lis and Lis Humans while recruiting thousands of people on his journey to defeat the "Herr Heiliger".
"Onwards!"
This was... just the beginning.
