"Here's what's going to happen," Voight mentioned after Jay had stepped out of his truck and walked towards us. "We have proof Wes killed Shabazz, and we have done everything we can to keep Malik from finding out about it. All we have to do now is meet with Malik and Wes, make the trade and get those guns off the street." He looked around at all of us and then directly at Kevin. "Then we arrest Wes for killing Shabazz. Are we clear?"

"Yes, Sarge." Kevin's response was the loudest out of all of us. We knew that message was meant for him. We had been around long enough to sense when it was directed towards one of us.

"I'm heading down to pick up Dexter. We'll swing back towards the warehouse in about fifteen minutes." Jay informed them, keys in hand so he could take off as soon as we were done here.

"The rest of us will get into position. Kevin and Adam, have those guns locked and loaded just in case things go south. Kim and Antonio will be waiting behind the warehouse as a backup to circle any fleeing vehicles. Hailey and I will move in to help back up Jay and Kevin." On that final note, we took off towards the warehouse. Voight and I parked just to the side of the entrance, keeping our heads down as we prepared for the deal to go down. It also made for an awkward silence considering I was still dealing with everything with Booth, and now with Eva.

"I want you to know I talked with your boss." He said after a few minutes of us being in the car together. I've also looked into him extensively. So far everything leads to him being on your side." He nods at me with full assurance that what I did was right. It took some of the pressure off my shoulders, yet I still feel like there were many things I needed to figure out along the way, starting with how to help her work through everything.

"Hailey." Voight gestured to Jay's truck, pulling his radio up to his mouth to inform the rest of the team. "I got Halstead arriving with Dexter. Stand by until we can move in."

"No eyes on the truck. Moving for a better position." Kevin quietly keyed over the radio, then it went silent again until Kim spoke up about a minute later.

"We're in position in the back of the warehouse."

"Wes is arriving. Wait for my signal." Voight directed again into the radio as we did our best to stay out of sight. The last thing we wanted was to attract attention to ourselves.

"Alright. Game on. So the gun's are here, right?" Jay's voice questioned Dexter as they waited for Wes to step out of the car. My partner was wired with a small pin in his shirt so we could gather evidence during the meeting. It ensured those involved would never be back on the streets again, especially if they revealed their part in selling guns that had killed many people.

"Boss, we have a problem. Malik is here." Adam cut in, slight worry seeping into the tone of his voice. I could imagine this going down badly as I looked to see what Voight's next step would be.

"As far as we know, Malik still doesn't know his brother is dead. We're going to have to let it play out. Be ready to take action if this goes south."

"Copy."

"My man, Wes." Dexter greeted the other man neutrally as he stood next to Jay. Pulling out my phone just enough to look at my phone, I shoved it back into my pocket since we were on an active case.. It was the school calling, and I could only imagine it had something to do about Eva. I also noticed I had one missed call from Natalie.

"Hey, You must be Dexter." Wes and Malik stopped and kept their distance. The distrust was noticeable, especially by the look on Malik's expression.

"What's he doing here?" Dexter questioned, finally spotting the younger man he had gotten into a spat with the other day.

"Oh, that's my business." Wes didn't go into great detail. I could only imagine the great hold he had on Malik considering he had just killed his brother and was acting as if nothing happened.

"He gonna behave himself?"

"I'm cool as long as you are." Malik kept his anger at bay as he spoke up for the first time since he and Wes had arrived at the warehouse. Pretty good considering the last time he opened his mouth, Malik had been gun whipped with the very gun we were trying to get off the street.

"You got the product, man?" Wes was quickly losing his patience with both Dexter and Malik's nonsense. Nothing good ever came out of making three hotheaded people angry.

"You got the money?" Dexter questioned with the same tone as Wes unzipped the black bag he had been holding onto since they had arrived. It was clear he was trying to keep his end of the bargain, no matter how much he despised Wes and Malik.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I need to see the product first." Wes held his hand up to stop them from getting any closer, and Dexter put his phone up to his ear.

"Come on over. Showtime." He mentioned the other person on the other side of the line, then hung up with a subtle smirk that he was one step closer to making the deal. Unfortunately, his happiness was short-lived as Malik pulled his phone from his pocket.

"No."

""What?" Wes' focus was thrown off by the sound of the young man's voice. Even though we didn't want this scenario to happen until after we made the deal, we were prepared to do what we had to. Malik was a livewire and could never seem to keep his temper at bay for long.

"Somebody shot my brother."

"I'm sorry to hear that man. I really am. Right now we got some business to handle, all right?"

"What are you smirking at?" Malik seethed over at Dexter who was standing there with a smug look plastered to his face. From the looks of it, he thought Malik deserved his brother being killed. He was giving him every opportunity to come at him as well.

"Nothing." Just as he feigned it was not a big deal, tires sloshed their way through a puddle of water created by the recent rainstorm here in Chicago.

"Sarge, we got a blue van approaching." I looked through the back window and we both ducked down a little so we wouldn't be spotted by whoever was in that van.

"A blue van is approaching. We wait for it to park and move in on my signal."

"You killed my brother." Malik went off on Dexter. Dexter in turn pulled his gun on him. Jay was trying his best to defuse the situation by blocking Malik from getting at him.

"Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa!" Jay pushed him back, while Dexter kept his hands steady with the gun pointed directly at Malik's head.

"Take it easy, chill chill." Wes stated in hopes of descalating the situation. Things weren't looking good and we had to do something quick before somebody got shot.

"Gun, gun, gun." Adam announced from where he and Kevin were staking out the situation about ten feet away.

"Move in now." Voight instructed as we moved the car towards Dexter, Jay, Malik and Wes. I flung the door open and pointed my gun at them. Adam and Kevin moved in from their place behind the gate. The person in the blue van was doing his best to drive away with the merchandise.

"Chicago PD, don't move."

"Chicago PD, drop your weapon!" Voight followed suit after me, arm extended as he pointed the gun at them. His expression was one I recognized him silently relaying that he wasn't kidding and to do as he says.

"Police! Drop your weapon, Dexter." Jay dug the gun into his shoulder as I worked my way towards him.

"Drop the bag." I told Wes, my weapon still aimed at him. He put up his hands in surrender as soon as Jay had announced who he was. He secured the weapon Dexter was holding and tightened the handcuffs around his wrists.

"Antonio, heads up, blue van heading your way." Voight keyed into the microphone as Antonio and Kim took off from their place in the back of the building to any empty parking lot just to the west of their location. "Adam, back them up." He nodded at Voight's command and followed along the fence until he disappeared.

"You are under arrest." Kevin told Wes as he led him to the car. "Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have a right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you."

"That never gets old." I told Jay after he loaded us Dexter into a separate vehicle and closed the door. It was no use making a good arrest if you put two people who hate each other together. You good?" I held up my phone to my ear, listening to the voicemail that had been left by Ellen, the school secretary.

"I'm good."

"Voight went to pick up Nate for his part in all this." He mentioned over the sound of additional units arriving to the scene to help transport suspects back to the precinct. Are you good?"

"Not sure. Eva tried to run away from school. Now the principal wants to talk to me."

"We can handle processing. Want me to drop you off at the school?"

"No, I'll head back to the precinct and get my car so I can take her home. Let me give the school heads up that I'm coming and then we can go."
