It takes all of two days for Alison to find out what happened between Emily and Alyssa. Emily explained to her at the beginning of the day that she ran into Alyssa, and they had an argument.
Just before third period, Alison was walking Emily to her class since they're only a few doors down from each other when Emily took off her sweater and Alison caught sight of the bruise on her arm. Alison stops in the middle of the hall and Emily gives her a funny look.
Alison says nothing but she points to Emily's arm. When Emily looks down at her arm she sighs and begins to explain to Alison in detail what happened when she and Alyssa had their fight outside of the Grill.
Upon finding out that Alyssa grabbed Emily during their altercation from the weekend and left a bruise on her arm, Alison storms off without another word. Emily calls out after her as the blonde girl walks away from her. Alison walks out of the school, ignoring all of her classes. That's the furthest thing from her mind right now.
She's pissed off. Really pissed off. She's not mad at Emily though. No, why would she be? Emily didn't do anything to make her upset. Well, she was upset when Emily didn't tell her about the mark when it happened but that's nothing something that she can focus on at the moment. She's mad at Alyssa. Alison gets into her car and despite not meaning to, she slams the door closed and takes off in the direction of Alyssa's house.
Pulling up in front of the brown two-story house with black windows Alison tries to calm herself down. She went over what she was going to say while she drove her car the ten minutes it took to get there. Walking up to the door, Alison loses some of her nerve, but she pushes on and rings the doorbell.
When Alyssa's mom answers the door with a wide smile Alison feels her stomach drop. Miss. Clark should not be happy to see her. It doesn't dawn on her why her ex-girlfriend's mom might be so happy to see her until she addresses her. "Hi sweetie. Alyssa isn't here right now but I'm sure you already knew that. What can I do for you?"
Alison stares at the open door. The word she practiced being thrown out the window by the change of topic. It takes Alison's few seconds to come up with a reply but when she does, she feels like face palming. "Why would I know that?" She asks curiously.
Stacey looks at her weirdly and tilts her head to the side. "I might be wrong to assume that two people dating would know where the other is if they planned to come over." Stacey watches Alison carefully. She knows that something must be going on with the girl if she's acting this way.
Alison feels her skin pale. She and Alyssa aren't still together. They've been broken up for months and now she's the one that has to break the news to her ex's mother. God, this isn't going to be a good day.
Alison crosses her arms over her chest subconsciously. She wants to protect herself. She knows that Miss. Clark won't hurt her or anything but going into details about the end of her relationship and reliving it are just too much for her to deal with.
She can feel the tears trying to accumulate in her eyes and she bites the inside of her cheek to keep them from forming. She clears her throat, so it doesn't come out scratchy. "Alyssa and I aren't together anymore. We broke up several months ago."
The look on Stacey's face screams shock. She purses her lips into a thin line, and she looks a little bit angry. "Oh, I wasn't aware of that." A beat passes by and Stacey looks curiously over at her. "If you and my daughter aren't dating anymore, then why are you here dear?" She asks sweetly.
Alison feels super uncomfortable about this whole thing because she really likes Alyssa's mom and Alison knows that the things, she has to say about her daughter are not going to settle well with her. The things Alison has to break to her will probably disappoint her and Alison wants to turn around and just leave it alone to avoid seeing the possible heartbreak on her face.
However, her mind wanders back to Emily and the way she was treated and the way everyone else was treated by Alyssa and she knows that if she has to be the bearer of bad news to the girl's mother then so be it. If she's the only one willing to go to this extreme to get some results, she'll take that blame and inevitable anger that comes with it from Alyssa. Stacey deserves to know the truth anyways, regardless of if she hears it from the person that should be telling her or not.
Alison starts out slowly. "I'm dating someone new, and Alyssa isn't happy about it. She's been really mean to both my girlfriend and me. Actually, she's been mean to everyone she interacts with. Students and teachers."
Alison takes a deep breath and Stacey just waits for her to continue on. "I thought I could deal with it on my own but over the weekend Alyssa ran into my new girlfriend at the Grill. Alyssa started an altercation with her. My girlfriend tried to walk away but Alyssa grabbed her arm forcefully to keep her from walking away. As a result of her trying to forcibly keep her there, she left a huge bruise on her arm."
Alison looks down at her shoes. She doesn't want to mention the next part, but she knows Stacey needs the whole picture in order to really see what's been going on. "Alyssa was toxic, and she said some nasty things about my clothing choices when I didn't want to sleep with her. After that, I was done, and the way Alyssa has treated me since then has been just as bad. She's targeting my girlfriend now and I won't sit by and let her harass her because she's jealous and wants me back. Something needed to be done about it and I didn't know what else to do. So, I came to you, hoping that you could do something about all of this."
Stacey is quiet for a few long moments, but Alison can see her jaw flexing in anger. "I warned her about this. I can't believe she would do this again; she says before taking a few deep breaths. It looks like she needs a drink. "I'll have a talk with her when she gets home tonight. Bullying is not acceptable under any circumstance, and I apologize on behalf of my daughter for everything she's done." Stacey runs her hands through her hair. "If you'll excuse me, I need to calm down before calling the school. Thank you for coming to see me, Alison. Have a good day dear."
Alison smiles weakly at her. She feels bad but it had to be done. Alyssa needs to be stopped. "You too," she says before Stacey closes the door and Alison walks down the driveway and to her car. Alison feels better after getting all of that off her chest but somewhere deep down inside of her, she knows that there will be some serious consequences for doing so.
