A/N: hi everyone! im so glad yall are back! im going to be trying to update this story as frequently as possible. last chapter ended on a bad note, however, its part of the DRAMA! have fun and enjoy!
PS: snape is going to start becoming a key character...
Harry really screwed up.
Why couldn't he just pretend that he liked Peter? Now, because of that slimy rat, his father and his friends now hated him.
There goes his social life...
Harry felt guilty and extremely sad. What if his last memories of his parents where how much they hated him?
Harry walked to potions with a glum look, as the marauders had already left him and gone ahead. He entered class with his head down as suddenly a voice boomed in his ear.
A younger version of Slughorn smiled happily, "Harry! The new transfer, is it? Hope you enjoy Potions class with me!".
Harry smiled meekly at him as he went and sat at the back of the class.
He looked at the marauders, only to find Sirius and James throwing him dirty looks, while Remus ignored his existence. Peter looked at him with a snarky smile before turning back.
That filthy rat!
"Hello students! Today, you will be working on the Alihotsy Draught! Not a complicated potion, but a good start for this year! It causes hysterical laughter, so please do not accidentally drink it, unless you want a stomach ache for the rest of the week. You will be working in pairs, and with the opposite house! Obviously, I will be making them, so don't get funny ideas!" Slughorn boomed.
Harry gritted his teeth. His only wish was not to get paired with someone who would be a future death eater.
Slughorn began calling out the pairs.
"James Potter and Bellatrix Black. Sirius Black and Narcissa Black. Remus Lupin and Rodulphus Lestrange. Rupert Wilkes and Peter Pettigrew. Lily Evans and Evan Rosier. Alice Fortesque and Robert Mulciber. Harry Zeller and Severus Snape. Marlene Mckinnon and Rutherford Avery. Dorcas Meadowes and Leila Lucan. Preston Fawley and Emmeline Vance" Slughorn said, as the entire class started yelling.
"I don't want to pair up with that git!" A girl yelled.
"Professor! Let us choose our partners!" A boy said.
"HUSH! You must learn Inter-house unity! I will not tolerate this prejudiced behaviour! Please get with your partners or everyone will get a zero!" Slughorn yelled, slightly angered.
Many people sighed and walked to their partners. Harry slowly walked towards Snape. Why did he always end up in situations like these?
He saw Snape sitting in the back corner of the class, enraptured in his book. It seemed as though not only was he bullied by Gryffindors, but his own house distanced him.
He sat next to Snape and tapped him on the shoulder. Snape flinched and turned around swiftly.
"Who the hell are you?" he asked, caution on his face.
"I'm your partner for the assignment" Harry replied, trying to sound as nice as possible.
Something inside him pitied Snape, and even though in the future they didn't have a good relationship, he might as well try to have one now.
"Oh... The new transfer student. Zeller, was it?" Snape asked, starting to work on the potion.
"Yeah... Nice to meet you" Harry replied.
"So, did the other Gryffindors already fill your head with different rumours about me?" Snape asked spitefully.
Harry watched him work as he replied, "Well, I'm not on the best terms with most of them. So it's me with the rumours, not you".
Snape looked at him curiously. "What did you do? You were getting along fine with Potter and his gang yesterday".
"Something happened, and now they hate me. Guess we are alike..." Harry said, smiling.
Snape looked at him curiously and muttered something as he finished the potion.
"Amazing work, Severus! You finished the potion in 10 minutes!" Slughorn boomed happily. "You can just wait for class to finish now!".
"Your really good at potions! This is my worst subject" Harry said, look at Severus with admiration.
"Well, its quite easy once you figure out the steps. But, thanks for the compliment" Severus replied.
"Why do you sit here, alone?" Harry asked abruptly.
"Well, ever since Potter's gang started bullying me, not many in my house wanted to hang out with me since I never defended myself. I'm labeled as a loser. I don't mind being alone. I did have a friend, but something happened... and now it's just me" Snape said, looking at his book.
Harry didn't expect Snape to open up to him, but something about him made him happy. He actually liked him.
"Well, then. Your not going to be lonely anymore. I don't have friends anymore either, so your my friend now!" Harry said, smiling at Severus.
"How do I know, that Potter didn't set you up to this? No one ever wants to even talk to me in my own house, let alone a Gryffindor" Severus said, eyeing him suspiciously.
"Look. He hates me almost as much as he hates you. I don't want to say why, but you can see for yourself later. Your a nice guy, and I'm not someone prejudiced my houses. I don't mind being friends with you" Harry explained, sighing.
Severus looked at him for a moment, but then smiled softly.
"Sure, but if you ever betray me? Your going to regret it. If you become friends with Potter again, I wouldn't care, but if you ever treat me like shit... your gonna have hell to pay, Zeller" Severus said menacingly.
"Well then, Severus. Guess we are friends now!" Harry said happily.
"I guess so" Severus said as he closed his book.
"Well then, please help me study for Potions! I don't understand ANYTHING!" Harry said, whining.
Severus laughed, before smiling.
"Sure. I'll see you in the library after lunch then" he replied, as he walked out of class.
James shot him a scathing look.
"Getting friendly with Snivellus now? You disgust me, Zeller" James said, shoving past him.
Harry walked to lunch. His heart ached as now, even his own father hated him.
Well, at least he has a friend.
A/N: PHEW! i swear i was writing literally whatever came to my head. Hope this was a longer chapter. dont worry, the marauders wont hate him forever! but for the time being, yes.
