A/N: Hi! I don't own Harry, James, Lily, Ginny, or the last names: Potter or Finnagan. Or McGonagle.

Red Heads

I, Professor Minerva McGonagall have always been very observant. And my observations of the Potters' taste in woman were no exception.

I went to school with Harrison Potter. James's father. Harrison was as cocky as James, but had a respect for the rules James knew not. Alas, Harrison married. He married a wonderful woman, Elisabeth Johnson. Elisabeth had the most beautiful red hair, and she was smarter then I am (Which I ashore you is a hard thing to be). She also had a temper. (Worst then mine).

The fist time I saw James I thought Harrison had accidentally taken an age revising spell. At lest until I saw his eyes, they were the same as Elisabeth's. Year after year, I watched James fail to get Lily. But I knew they would end up together, Lily was too much like Elisabeth for James to fail.

Harry looked the same as James, only with Lily's eyes. (I was starting to see a pattern here.) I looked for a red head in Harry's own year, but I could find none. (Well, Ronald had red hair, but he was a he.) But the next year Ginevra came to Hogwarts, she fit the description of Mrs. Potter very well. She was smart, she had a temper, and she had red hair.

"Finnagan, Fanny!" Called the Deputy Headmaster. And I saw a small red headed girl walk up to the sorting hat, it called out: "GRYFFINDOR!" I then watched the little girl take a set. A few children later we were finally at Harry's child.

"Potter, Finn!" Called the Deputy Headmaster. I saw a small boy walk up to the sorting hat. Just like I expected, he looked just like Harry, only he had Ginevra's milky brown eyes. After a small amount of time the sorting hat shouted: "GRYFFINDOR!"

A few days later during breakfast I, and every body else there, heard a scream:

"POTTER! STOP PULLING MY HAIR!" It came from that girl Fanny. It was then and there I knew she was going to be the next Mrs. Potter.

A/N: review please!

B/N: Excellent story! And your spelling and grammar isn't that bad, I only found a few errors, which are corrected in red.

A/N: Thanks SlashyKitty!
