Chapter 5

It had been amonth since Erin had arrived at the FBI and already she can't take it anymore, no one looked at her as if she was up to her job including her partner who on the first day when they were sent to talk to a witness he told her that he had read her file and that he kept an eye on her as if she were a hardened criminal.

Privacy doesn't exist there, they allknew who he was, what he had done and about his heroin addiction as a young man.

He couldn't stand it anymore.

That's what Erin thought as she stuffed her stuff into a suitcase with Olivia behind her trying to stop her.

"Erin please reason, what do you want to do? You can't start over in any small citadel, you have too much talent to do it, you would be wasted" she told him to make her reason, but at her parole she exploded "So what should I do? To stand there undaunted to suffer the hell that they make me go through every single day for a month now? Endless paperwork, looks of superiority and constant chatter about me? I can't take it anymore," she said exhausted as she sat on the bed and ran a hand through her exhausted hair.

Olivia ran a hand over his back in sympathy and only then remembered the conversation she had with Deputy Chief Dodds in themorning.

Last morning...

"Great job with the case, few would have been able to conclude such a case" Deputy Chief Dodds complimented as he entered Olivia's office, closing the door behind him and sitting in front of her.

"Thank you Chief, but the credit also goes to my team" He said, looking up from the PC, smiling.

"I'm sorry to leave immediately, but I have a commitment and before I forget the upper floors want you to add a new detective to your team I rely on your intuition for it" and Olivia did not have time to retort that he was already gone.

Back to the present...

"What if you work for me? The Deputy Chief told me this morning that the upper floors want him to add a member to the team and that I had free rein in the choice, of course I will have to discuss it with him first but he will accept" and Erin, a little shaken by the news, accepted the offer without delay.

Sorry if I haven't published for a long time but the commitments have sucked me in; I hope you liked it and you want to leave a comment . Until next time
