It was a cold, grey morning, and rain lashed at the windows of the dilapidated old mansion. The only other sound audible in the decrepit house was that of floorboards gently creaking, as an equally decrepit creature made its way down the stairs. Under nearly any circumstances, this creature could spark fear in the most fearsome, dread in the most dreadful, fright in the most frightening, and disgust in the most disgusting. There was but one who could control this creature. One whom he feared...
A final creak emanated through the air, signaling the end of the creature's descent. He strode through the dust-covered landing, his bare feet wearing tracks through the thick layering. He had barely set one foot within what could only be considered a kitchen, when the high-pitched evil voice that haunted his nightmares cut through the silence.
"Voldie-Poo!" A short, slightly stocky, blue-eyed woman with exceptionally curly brunette locks, though tinted a bit with grey, launched herself at the Dark Lord himself. She soon enveloped him in what he considered to be the most evil of all tortures. More sick than even he himself would submit anyone to. A hug.
Why, why, WHY had he given her that bloody love potion back in his seventh year! WHY had he been stupid enough to marry her a year later? Sure, Harmony Demona-Riddle had, at one point, been rather attractive. And sure, she was occasionally useful. But she was the most clingy, obnoxious thing to ever walk the planet. And that VOICE--
"Did you miss me, my sweet wittle Tommy-boy?" Oh God. There it was again. That voice. That horrible, horrible voice.
A pout met his silence. She opened her mouth to ask her question again, before Voldemort (a.k.a. Tom Riddle, the Dark Lord, the Almighty of all things annoying, or...heh...Voldie-Poo...take your pick) snapped out of his reverie. He forced his twisted, scarred face into a smile. A smile that would frighten children and adults alike. "Of course, my dear..."
