Ginny walked to the kitchen door to see Ron, Molly, and Arthur sitting down at the table starting to eat dinner. The aroma of baked chicken filled the room. Ginny took a deep breath and smiled. She loved her mother's baked chicken. She sat in her usual chair, "I'm sorry I'm late Mum. I started a new book with Harry this afternoon and lost track of the time."
Molly smiled at her only daughter, "It's ok dear. We just sat down. How is Harry today?"
Ginny gave her mother a small smile, "Good. Well, I mean there's no change."
Aruther spooned some mashed potatoes onto his plate, "No news is good news."
Ron just sat there and dug right into his dinner of baked chicken legs, mashed potatoes, and green beans not paying much attention to anything else. Ginny started fixing her plate when Ron looked at her for the first time this evening, "What book are you reading?"
Ginny started cutting up her chicken, "It's an American book call The Catcher in the Rye. It's about a 16-year-old boy named Holden in some sort of institution in the American state of California in the late 1940s. It seems interesting and it's a bit different. I found it in a used bookstore in Muggle London a few days ago. I'll let you borrow it when we're done with it." Ginny then smiled, "You can impress Hermione with it." Ron's face turned bright red.
Ron started telling Arthur about a new case that he was working on. Arthur seemed genuinely interested in it. The investigation was about a wizard who was using muggle weapons to hurt other wizards and witches. It was all rather strange and a difficult task seeing as there was no magic trail to follow. Since the injuries were from muggle weapons, the wounds were mostly superficial. It was the fact that some of the wizarding community was scared to go out in public that got the concern of the Ministry.
As dinner went on, Ginny told her family about getting Patricia taken off Harry's treatment team. Ron listened intently and was visibly impressed with his younger sister. Molly was shocked, "The nerve of that woman! Gossiping like that!"
Arthur leaned closer to his daughter, "Ginny, you didn't really threaten her, did you?"
Ginny's face turned pink as she bowed her head, "Yes I did."
Arthur shook his head, "Ginny, you're not a little girl anymore. You've chosen to take on a responsibility to Harry. You need to keep your temper in check."
Ginny bowed her head, "I know Dad, but she just got me so angry. The things she said were just horrid and this isn't the first time that woman has slandered me or Harry."
Arthur sipped his tea, "I understand that, but you need to control yourself. The staff won't take you seriously as Harry's proxy if you threaten them. Plus, the level of care that Harry receives won't be as high as it is now if they're afraid of you."
Ginny just stared at her plate, feeling guilty. Ron nodded, "Dad's right."
Ginny glared at Ron. Her look softened because she knew her father and Ron were right, "I know. I'll try harder from now on."
Molly smiled. She reached over and patted Ginny hand, "I know you will Dear. Harry's lucky to have you looking after him." Ginny smiled at her. The rest of the dinner conversation was light. Ginny told Molly about Hermione's visit and all the latest gossip that she was told. Ron and Arthur carried on about Ron's latest case.
After dinner Ginny was in the sitting room curled up on the couch drinking a cup of tea in front of the fire. She had her legs tucked up underneath her. She sat just thinking.
I know I shouldn't have lost my temper with that horrible woman. I just couldn't help it. She just has a way of getting under my skin. Dad's right though, I have to keep calm and not let things get the better of me. I have to for Harry. He's counting on me. Harry. I miss him so much.
Ron walked into the room to see his sister sitting with her tea, obviously deep in thought. Ron also thought Ginny looked a little down. He walked over to her, "Mind if I sit?"
Ginny shook her head, "Of course not."
Ron sat and looked at the fire, "You ok?"
Ginny sipped her tea, "Not really."
Ron looked at Ginny and frowned, "You wanna talk about it?"
Ginny drained the last dregs of her tea, "I shouldn't have lost my temper with Patrcia. Dad's right. I have a responsibility now."
Ron laid his hand on Ginny's shoulder, "Don't be so hard on yourself and don't worry about that puss bucket of a woman. I'm surprised you let her take care of Harry as long as you did."
Ginny looked at her brother, "She's just an old bitter, nasty witch."
Ron chuckled, "I don't remember the last time you talked about somebody like that."
Ginny smiled, "Maggie's really sweet though. I don't think you've met her. She's new on Harry's team. She's about our age and fresh out of healer training."
Ron nodded, "That's good. Who does nights with him?"
Ginny waved her wand to refill her teacup, "Either Head Healer Jones or another healer named Steven. I've only met Steven a few times when Patricia switched to nights for a week. He seems ok."
Ron nodded again, "Hermoine says he looks good, a little pale though."
Ginny turned to face Ron, "I wish I could get him out in the sunlight so he could get some color. You should come and see him again."
Ron looked down into his lap, "I know it's been a while. I just have a hard time. I mean, he's my best mate and seeing him the last time…I guess I wish I was with him when it happened."
Ginny frowned, "Ron it's not your fault. It would have happened with or without you. You know Harry, he doesn't look for trouble, trouble finds him."
Ron looked at Ginny, "I know it's not my fault and stuff. It's just seeing him lying there, it's a reminder of what can happen. Don't get mad, but I don't need that type of reminder. I love the guy like a brother. We've been through so much but seeing him like that…I just can't."
Ginny leaned over and gave Ron a hug, "I understand. How are things with you and Hermione? She told me things are going good with the two of you."
Ron's face turned bright red as he leaned away from Ginny, "Things are good, really good. Sure, we bicker a bit but we're getting along well enough. She's starting to hint about moving in together."
Ginny smiled, "Really? She didn't mention that today."
Clearly embarrassed, Ron looked away from Ginny, "I think she is anyway. She asked me to look at flats with her. I don't know though. I'm not sure I'm ready for that."
Ginny chuckled, "I think you're just not ready to let go of Mum taking care of you."
Ron laughed, "You might be right with that."
A comfortable silence fell between the two siblings. Ginny just looked at the fire as Ron stared off across the room. Ginny's thoughts fell to Harry and happier times. She thought about sitting with him and talking about quidditch, his latest case, or nothing in particular. Ginny's heart ached for Harry. She missed him whispering sweet nothings in her ear. She missed being at Grimmauld place and the two of them cooking dinner together. Ginny missed turning on the wireless and dancing in the sitting room. Ginny missed Harry's touch, his voice, hearing him laugh and most of all she missed the way he made her feel. There were other things too, like running her hands through that raven black hair of his or feeling his lips pressed against hers when he kissed her.
Ron pulled her back to reality, "Ginny, there's something else I have to talk to you about."
Ginny looked at Ron with a touch of surprise, "What is it?" She watched Ron shift uncomfortably in his seat and wipe his hands on his pants. Those were two tells that Ron was nervous about something.
Ron didn't quite meet Ginny's eyes, "Well, I overheard a couple of witches talking while I was eating lunch at the Ministry commissary. They weren't really talking. It was more like gossiping." Ron looked back at the fire, "They were talking about you and Harry."
A look of hurt came over Ginny's face, "Well, what did they say? No, let me guess. It was basically along the same crap as what Patricia said. Isn't it?" Ron only nodded. Ginny put her teacup down, an angry look took over her face, "How the bloody hell does stuff like this travel so fast? Harry has an approved list of visitors. If you're not on the list you can't see him and I, and only me, approve the list. No press, no cameras, nothing. He has a private team treating him, that have all have been vetted by Kingsley himself, and they're all under a gag order about Harry. They're not allowed to talk to anybody about who they're treating or anything about it. How does this happen?"
Ron shook his head, "Apparently one of the women has a brother who works at St. Mungo's as a janitor. He sees you every day. He was cleaning in the private ward and caught a glimpse of Harry one afternoon. Plus, he knows that toad Patricia. I'm sorry."
Ginny stood up and started pacing across the room, "I can't believe this! I just want to hex somebody!"
Ron stood up, "Ginny…"
Ginny stopped pacing and took a deep breath, "I know. I know. I have to stay calm. I can't let stuff like this get to me."
Ron walked over to Ginny, "You have every reason to be upset but what I was going to say is people are going to talk. They're going to talk about you and Harry. It wouldn't have mattered if he were at St. Mungo's or not. They're still going to talk. Most of what they'll say will be nothing but a load of bullocks. It's something you're going to have to live with."
Ginny bowed her head, "I know. I just miss him. Harry would know exactly what to do. You know?"
Ron sat back down, "He would. I know you miss him. We all do too. Me, Hermione, Mum, Dad, and the rest of the family know why you're doing what you're doing, but you need to be prepared for the asshats. They're going to say things and maybe even do things. They do it because they don't have anything else better to do and they're jealous."
Ginny scoffed, "Jealous? Really?"
Ron looked at Ginny, "Think about it. Harry's is THE most famous wizard of our time. He took down Voldemort. You've been made his proxy. Before the ambush, you were dating him. Do you realize how many other witches would kill to be in your position?"
Ginny sat back down, "Were dating? As far as I'm concerned, we're still dating but I get what you're saying. I never really thought about it like that. I guess when I got over my crush, I saw him as just Harry."
Later that night Ginny's sleep was plagued with a nightmare of her being arrested by Ron and being held for trial.
Ginny walked out of St. Mungo's when she saw a wizard approach her. The wizard stopped her and said, "Miss Gineva Weasley, you are under arrest for robbery."
Ron came up behind her and retrained her hands behind her back, "I'm sorry Ginny. I'm just doing my job."
Ginny tried to struggle, but Ron's grip was too tight, "I didn't do it!"
The wizard growled, "How do you explain Mr. Potter's empty vault?"
Still struggling in Ron's grip Ginny said, "I can't! I only took enough gold to put fresh flowers in his room every week. Sometimes I would take a little extra to buy a book or a magazine to read to him. That's it. I swear!"
The wizard growled again, "Now Miss Weasley, you mean to tell us that you, being Mr. Potter's Proxy, didn't empty all the gold from his vault?"
"NO! I would never do that to Harry! I didn't do it!"
The voice yelled, "How did it happen then?"
The scene faded and now Ginny was sitting in a chair. She was in a small dark room. She couldn't see a door and there were no windows. Ginny heard a voice, "Miss Weasley. You will be held until we can sort you out."
Ginny stood up and yelled, "I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!"
The voice replied, "We shall see…"
Ginny woke with a start and sat up in bed breathing heavily. She waited for her breathing to settle. She got up and walked down to the kitchen for a cup of tea. She sat at the kitchen table sipping her tea when she saw her mother walk in.
Molly gave Ginny a weak smile, "I thought I heard somebody down here."
Ginny returned the smile, "Sorry Mum. I didn't mean to wake you."
Molly waved her wand, and a plate of biscuits flew to the table. She then tapped a teacup and it filled with tea. Molly chuckled, "Dear, I raised Fred and George. If I learned anything from those two, it's to sleep slightly." Ginny chuckled as she took a biscuit while Molly sipped her tea, "What are you doing up at this hour Dear?"
Ginny thought for a moment in silent debate. Should she tell her mother the real reason? Of course, she should. Ginny hung her head, "I had a bit of a nightmare."
Molly reached across the table and took Ginny's hand, "Harry?"
A frown played at the corners of Ginny's lips, "In a way."
Molly squeezed Ginny's hand, "Do you want to talk about it Dear?"
Ginny finished her tea, "I was being arrested by Ron and some other wizard for stealing all of Harry's gold."
Molly nodded as she looked over her daughter, "First of all, they cannot arrest you for stealing gold from Harry's vault. You have been made his proxy. You have every legal right to whatever is in Harry's vault. Second, Ron would rather leave the Auror Department than arrest you for something that you didn't do, and he would do everything he could to make sure you were cleared."
Ginny smiled at her mother, "Thanks Mum."
Molly smiled as she patted Ginny's hand, "Why don't you go back to bed now."
Ginny stood up and whisked her teacup into the sink with her wand. She turned around and looked at her mother, "Mum, do you think I'm the right choice though? For Harry's proxy, I mean."
Molly stood and walked over to Ginny. She wrapped her daughter up in one of her famous hugs, "I know you love Harry with all your heart, and you only want him back. I've watched you take care of that boy and make sure that he has the best care. You speak for him because he can't do it himself. You go and read to him and sit with him every day, no matter what the weather, no matter how you feel. Even though you have access to everything Harry owns, you take as little as possible. You ask for nothing in return for your love, that's where the real magic lies. Underneath that temper, that toughness, that strength is a sensitive young woman who only wants what's best for the man she loves." Ginny smiled as her face turned pink. Molly broke her embrace and held Ginny at arm's length, "I've watched you grow into such a wonderful woman. I remember when you couldn't even say two words when Harry was in the room. I saw that schoolgirl crush transform into a friendship and then into love. Trust me Dear, I saw all the side glances that the two of you stole. It was sweet to watch. It reminded me of me and your father when we were younger. You asking me if you're the right choice proves to me that you are the perfect choice. You are the only choice."
Ginny's eyes started to well up with tears, "Thank you Mum."
Molly gave Ginny another quick hug, "No off to bed with you. I'll see you at breakfast."
Ginny smiled, "Goodnight Mum."
Ginny walked back to her room and climbed into bed with a small smile on her face. Talking with her mother did help her feel better. She also thought about what Ron had said to her earlier after dinner. Ginny really shouldn't worry about what other people said about her. Even though she knew the truth, it still irked her.
The next day Ginny walked into Harry's room, "Good morning Harry. How are you today?" She walked over and gave him a kiss on the forehead, "Maggie should be by soon to change your linen." Ginny settled into a chair and took out her copy of the Daily Prophet, "Let's see what the top stories of the day are."
After a few minutes, Ginny heard a knock at the door. Maggie walked in, "Good morning Miss Weasley. How are you?"
Ginny smiled, "I'm doing good. How are you today Maggie?"
Maggie walked towards them, "I'm good, thank you. Good morning Mr. Potter. How are you today? I'm going to give you an exam and then change your lines." Ginny stood up and moved out of the way so Maggie could work.
Maggie walked over to Harry's bedside and took out her wand, "How are you feeling this morning Mr. Potter?" She cast a couple of charms as she walked around Harry's bed. "Well, there's no change so that's good." After the exam Maggie turned to Ginny, "Miss Weasley, could you levitate Mr. Potter so I can change his linen?"
Ginny nodded as she took her wand out of her bag. She flicked her wand and Harry rose off the bed. Maggie quickly changed the linen and Ginny slowly placed Harry back down, "Thank you Miss Weasley." Ginny smiled and nodded at the healer while she smoothed out the front of her jumper.
Maggie took note of the monitors that displayed Harry's brain activity, "Miss Weasley? There's a new potion that I've been working on that I'd like to try with Mr. Potter."
Ginny looked at the witch, "What will it do? I have to know more about it before I can say yes."
Maggie sat down, "Well if it works it will help wake him up, slowly though. It may take several doses, over time. If you'd like, I could come by after my shift and I can show you my research."
Potions was never Ginny's strongest subject while she attended Hogwarts. She did well with simple ones, like a quick pain reliever or a pepper up potion, but when it came to complex potions, Ginny tended to get lost. She immediately thought of Hermione. Hermione was one of the most accomplished witches Ginny knew, not to mention she was extremely intelligent. Hermione could help Ginny determine if this potion that Maggie was working with was worthwhile. She nodded, "Do you mind if I invite someone else to join us?"
Maggie stood and nodded, "No, not at all. My shift ends at 7:00 tonight."
As Maggie left Harry's room, Ginny reached into her bag and pulled out some parchment and a quill. She quickly wrote a letter to Hermione asking her to meet her in Harry's room at 7:00. She also wrote a letter to Molly explaining that she would be late and not to hold dinner. Ginny looked at Harry, "What do you think? I know it's not much but maybe Maggie has something. I'm willing to at least listen to her. I'll get Hermione here too. If anybody can help us with this, it's her. I'll be right back. I'm going to owl her. I'm also going to let Mum know I won't be home for dinner."
Ginny left Harry's room to send her letters to Hermione and Molly. When she came back, she noticed something a bit different. Harry wasn't lying in the same position as when she left. But she wasn't totally sure. "Harry, did you move in your sleep? Please tell me that you moved."
Just then, it seemed that Harry furled his brow for a second and then his face relaxed. Ginny moved to Harry's bedside and watched him. Harry's chest rose and fell with each breath he took but nothing else happened. Ginny sat down, "Harry please tell me you moved. Give me a sign of some sort, please." Nothing happened. Ginny stared at Harry for another minute then left the room.
Ginny walked down to the healer's station to find Maggie. She found Maggie making notes on her clipboard, "Maggie. Can you come down to Harry's room please?"
Maggie looked up at Ginny with concern, "Sure Miss Weasley. Is something wrong?"
Ginny replied, "I'm not sure."
As the two women walked back down the hall to Harry's room Ginny explained what she saw to Maggie. Maggie stopped outside the door, "Do you really think Mr. Potter moved Miss Weasley?"
As Ginny reached the doorknob, "I'm not sure. I was hoping you could tell me. I left Harry to send and owl to a friend to meet us here later and when I came back, I don't think he was in the same position as when I left. Could you take a look?"
Maggie smiled, "Of course I will Miss Weasley."
They walked into the room. Ginny stopped short and gasped, "Merlin's beard!"
Maggie peaked around Ginny, "What? What's…" She turned around and called out, "Healers Jones! Can you come here please!"
Before them they saw Harry had not only moved but rolled over onto his side. Ginny ran to his beside and simply stared at Harry. She wanted to touch him but was almost fearful. Ginny didn't want anything to ruin any exam that the healers had to do.
Healer Jones walked in, "Maggie? Miss Weasley? What is it?" Ginny simply pointed to Harry. Healer Jones' eyes went wide as he pulled out his wand and rushed to Harry's bed. Healer Jones looked at the magical monitors and cast charms and spells to figure out Harry's condition.
After his exam Healer Jones said, "Mr. Potter has moved and there has been significant brain activity. Miss Weasley can you explain to me what happened?"
Ginny went on to explain how she and Maggie changed his bed linen. She then told Healer Jones that she left the room to send an owl and came back and it looked like his hands had moved. Maggie joined in the conversation explaining how Ginny had come to get her to look and this was how they found Harry when they got back to the room.
Healer Jones wrote everything down, "I'll have to do some reading. Miss Weasley, with your permission, I'd like to consult with a friend of mine. He's a muggle, though. He's what's called a doctor. They're the muggle version of a healer."
Ginny nodded, "I've heard of them. If you think it'll help, that's fine."
Healer Jones smiled, "Thank you. I'll talk to you after I've spoken with him."
Maggie smiled, "I'll see you after my shift."
Once Healer Jones and Maggie were gone, Ginny sat back down next to Harry's bed. She took his hand and moved a couple of locks of hair away from his face. Ginny watched the rise and fall of his chest while he breathed.
Ginny smiled, "Remember back at Hogwarts when we used to sit by the Black Lake and snog? Sitting underneath that tree, it was like nothing could touch us and nothing else mattered. It was just you and me. I miss that. I miss just being in your arms. I always felt so safe. You always made me feel so safe. Sure, deep down I knew that you would be leaving to hunt down Voldemort, but I also knew you would come back." Her eyes started to well up. "I think that's one of the reasons why I love you so much. Harry, I don't know if you can hear me, but I need you to wake up. Everybody misses you. I miss you."
There was a knock at the door. Ginny quickly dried her eyes, "Come in."
Healer Jones opened the door and walked in, "Miss Weasley, an owl just dropped this off for you." He handed Ginny a piece of rolled up parchment.
Ginny took the parchment, "Thank you," and Healer Jones left the room as Ginny unrolled it.
Ginny recognized Hermione's neat writing.
Ginny,
Of course, I'll come. I'll be there before 7:00. This sounds extremely exciting. If Maggie has found something that could help Harry, it could be groundbreaking. I'll bring dinner.
Hermione
Ginny smiled as she folded up the letter and put it in her bag. She knew Hermione wouldn't let them down.
"I'll be back. I'm going to go and get something to eat. When I get back we'll read some more of The Catcher in the Rye." Ginny smiled as she leaned down and kissed Harry on the forehead.
Ginny walked down the hall to the cafeteria. She was hoping she could get a roast beef sandwich and some pumpkin juice. She walked in the small dining hall and got in a que that led to a witch who was magically creating sandwiches. As she stood in line waiting for her turn, Ginny felt a light tap on her shoulder.
She turned around to see a witch only a little older than herself. Ginny thought she recognized her from Hogwarts, but she wasn't sure. The other witch was pretty woman. She had long black hair tied back in a braid. She was a little taller than Ginny with a pleasant smile and an athletic type of build, much like Ginny herself.
The witch smiled, but Ginny noticed the smile wasn't entirely sincere, "Excuse me. Aren't you Ginny Weasley?"
Ginny nodded, "Yes I am. You look kind of familiar. Do we know each other?"
The witch shook her head, "Not really. We sort of went to Hogwarts together. I was a fourth year when you started. You were in Gryffindor. I was in Slytherin. What are you doing here?"
Ginny moved along the que as other people moved up to place their orders, "I'm visiting a sick friend."
Again, the older witch smiled, "It wouldn't happen to be Harry Potter would it? I heard nobody has seen him in weeks."
It was Ginny's turn to place her order, "A roast beef sandwich please with lettuce and tomato. I'll also take a pumpkin juice please." She knew this other witch was just fishing for information on Harry and possibly herself. Ginny gave the witch her standard answer to the question on Harry's where abouts, "Harry has been abroad on assignment for the Ministry for the past few weeks." It's the answer that Ginny and Kingsley had decided upon if anybody made inquiries about Harry. Harry's privacy during his stay at St. Mungo's was her top priority.
The older witch's smile faded, "That's not what I've heard."
Ginny took her order and moved down the que to pay for her food, "I don't know what you've heard but that's where Harry's been. "
The witch smirked, "Well, you should know shouldn't you?"
Ginny face started to turn red. This witch was now starting to get under her skin. Ginny kept reminding herself to keep calm, but she took the bait anyway. She dug into her pocket for some gold to pay for her sandwich and juice. Ginny looked at that older witch, "What do you mean by that?"
The older witch smirked again, "You are sleeping with the man aren't you?"
Ginny paid for her food, "I don't think that's really any of your business."
The older witch laughed, "I'll take that as a no then."
Ginny took her sandwich and juice and started walking towards the exit. She looked back over her shoulder and saw the other witch laughing. I have to stay calm. Ron said people would say things. She doesn't know the story. I need to be calm. Ginny took a deep breath and continued walking back to Harry's room.
When Ginny returned to Harry's room, everything was as she left it. Much to her disappointment, Harry hadn't moved again. "I got a roast beef sandwich today. I can't wait for you to wake up so we can have lunch together like we used to. I really miss that. How about some music?" Ginny turned on the wireless and found some soft music and sat down to eat. "While I was getting my sandwich, I ran into a witch who asked about you. Don't worry, I gave her the standard answer that you were on assignment for the Ministry. She was really annoying, but I stayed calm. You would have been proud of me. She was in Slytherin and a couple of years ahead of us. I didn't get her name, though. Anyway, she's not important. I'm going to be staying later today. I'm sure you overheard, at least I hope you overheard, Maggie says that she's been working on a potion that may help you. She's going to show me her research after her shift ends. Hermione's going to come to listen to her too. If nothing else, we'll get to spend some more time together." Ginny spent the rest of the day reading The Catcher in the Rye to Harry.
About 6:30 Hermione showed up with dinner. The two witches busied themselves with small talk while they ate.
Hermione took a sip of pumpkin juice, "I was telling Ron today, he should stop and see him."
Ginny nodded, "I told him the same thing. He says it's hard for him to see Harry like this. I get it. It can't be easy."
Hermione agreed, "To see what can happen on the job must be hard."
They both heard a knock on the door and watched Maggie enter the room carrying a folder full of parchment. Ginny smiled, "Maggie, come in. Sit down. We were just finishing eating. This is my friend Hermione Granger." Maggie sat down in an empty chair and placed her folder on the table.
Hermione magically cleaned the dishes and put them away, "Ginny told me you've been researching a potion that might help Harry wake up."
Maggie's eye lit up as she smiled, "That's correct. I started my research about three weeks ago. I've been running tests and experiments at home. I think I might have found something that may work." Maggie proceeded to open her folder and described her research in great detail while Hermione looked over her work and took notes.
Ginny smiled, "Well, I don't understand it all, but I get the basics. Potions was never my strong suit at school. Hermione on the other hand brewed a perfect polyjuice potion when she was a second year." Hermione blushed.
Hermione noticed the light in Maggie's eyes dimmed and her smile faltered and started to become fake as she spoke, "I see why you asked her to come."
Hermione smiled, "This is all very impressive work Maggie. You've really spent a lot of time on it. I can see that you've taken the data from Harry's examines and used them as benchmarks. Oh, and you've also studied the few times he did wake up and his brain activity during those times. Very impressive. If your research proves to be true, this is groundbreaking. There are still a couple of things I don't quite understand though." Maggie beamed with pride as Hermione continued, "If you don't mind, I'd like to show my notes to a colleague at the Ministry that's very proficient in potions."
Maggie's smile was now gone, "No. No of course. Well, I better get going. Pulling double shifts can be very tiring. I'll see you tomorrow Miss Weasley." Maggie gathered up her paperwork and started to leave the room, "Goodnight Mr. Potter."
Ginny sat back in her chair, "Something's not sitting right with you is it Hermione?"
Hermione shook her head, "No it's not. Did you see her expression change as we talked? Her smile changed from genuine to forced and the look in her eyes changed too." Hermione shuffled through her notes, "Some of the ingredients she's been using are a bit strange too. I can't put my finger on it, but something just doesn't seem right. It's all very strange."
Ginny looked at Hermione, "Are you saying that Maggie would do something to hurt Harry?"
Hermione shook her head, "I don't think so. Listen, I know you like Maggie and think the world of her. She takes great care of Harry."
Ginny crossed her arms across her chest, "I hear a but coming."
Hermione nodded, "But you have to understand that Harry does have a lot of enemies. I'm not saying she's one of them, but she may have been put up to it in some way."
Ginny frowned, "So, who are you going to talk to?"
Hermione started packing up her belongings, "If my hunch is right, you really shouldn't know. I'll talk to you after I talk to them."
Ginny said, "Oh! I almost forgot. Healer Jones is going to talk to a muggle doctor he knows about Harry. He thinks he might be able to help us."
Hermione looked thoughtful, "A doctor? Really? That's interesting. I hope he can help. I better get going. I'll talk to my friend soon and I'll let you know."
Ginny stood and walked Hermione to the door as the two said their goodbyes.
Ginny sat back down and took Harry's hand, "I wonder who Hermione is going to talk to. I find it hard to believe that Maggie would do something to hurt you. Hopefully, Healer Jones can come up with an answer. He said his doctor friend may be of some help. I just miss you so much. I'll do anything to get you to wake up." Ginny leaned over and softly kissed Harry's forehead, "I better get going or Mum will start to worry. I'll see you tomorrow. I love you Harry."
