A Song of Lightning and Fire

Arc I: Magic

Part V: The Triwizard Tournament

《••••••••••••••••••••》

Harry woke up rather early on the morning of the Second Task, even for him. He'd been completely restless last night, and he'd decided against calling Ginny for fear of waking her up if she actually was asleep.

He kept imagining what would happen should a Leviathan actually be in the Lake. Those were dangerous creatures. Far more dangerous than any Dragon. A Dragon would win in a fight between the two, but a Leviathan was more dangerous to Humans.

A Leviathan was a sea serpent of great strength, and its scales were resistant to pretty much everything on this earth. Not even Lightning could pierce it. Scores of Witches and Wizards were required to kill it, and there was usually only one survivor left at the end of the fight.

Why would anyone want to kill this creature? Well, that would be because of the fact that any Leviathan over the age of 50 had a Powerful Wardstone in their stomach. The Wardstone was considered one of, if not, the best out there. It was essentially comprised of what a Leviathan's body would consider waste, but it was extremely useful to someone who wished to protect a place.

But the Leviathans were going extinct now, and the Wardstones they produced were getting scarcer and scarcer with every passing day. Which was why it was also unlikely that there would be any Leviathans in the Black Lake, but Harry couldn't help the nervousness he was feeling.

At least he didn't have that blasted leaf in his mouth now. He'd been able to keep it in this time, and he'd also managed to get the dew and the chrysalis fairly quickly. Like, it hadn't even taken him a day. All he had to do now, was keep up with the incantations

His thoughts were cut off when he saw Ginny climbing down the stairs near the Kitchens- where he was waiting for her. She smiled at him and gave him a brief kiss on the lips.

"Mm. Good morning," she said, pulling back.

"Morning," he said grinning. It was almost two months since they'd started this routine, and Harry still loved it just as much as he did before.

She took his hand and led him inside the Kitchens, where they sat behind their usual table, a small one big enough for two. The Elves usually just left it out for Harry and Ginny after New Year. He and Ginny would choose something from the menu, and they would get it on their plates.

He had a feeling they knew that he and Ginny were dating, but they hadn't said anything if that was the case.

"Did you get any sleep?" Ginny asked, taking his hand across the table. "You look terrible."

"Thanks," he replied dryly. "Just what I wanted to hear from my girlfriend."

"You know what I mean, Harry," she said, rolling her eyes. "You still look as pretty as you always do, it's just that you seem… tired."

Harry sighed, blushing a little at the 'pretty' comment. Getting compliments would need a lot more getting used to. "I didn't get much sleep," he admitted.

"Why didn't you call?" She asked.

"Did you sleep?" He asked instead.

"Yea- oh," she said in realisation.

"Yeah," he replied.

"You should have still called," she insisted. "I would've picked up."

He smiled. "I know," he said, clutching her hand.

"Is it about the Leviathan again?" She asked, receiving a nod from him. "I'm scared too."

He squeezed her hand across the table and they ordered some food. They finished their Dinner, talking about Astronomy, and star signs, and how they all pointed towards something bad happening soon. Harry remembered that Trelawney had informed Devon that something bad would happen too, and Harry told that to Ginny.

"Seems ominous, doesn't it?" She asked as they were headed to the Potions storeroom to steal some Gillyweed. The Bubble Head Charms were just too delicate, and they didn't give one the freedom of movement.

"What does?" Harry asked.

"All of this," she responded. "Do you remember, at the end of First Year, Firenze the Centaur told us that there would be a War coming soon?"

"I do," he replied.

"Well, it's almost here, isn't it?" Ginny asked. "What with Voldemort sabotaging this Tournament."

"It could always not be Voldemort," he pointed out, his lips twitching in amusement. It was usually Ginny who reminded him of that.

"Yeah, yeah," she said, waving it off. "Sure, but we both know that there's a better chance of it actually being Voldemort than not."

Harry hummed in agreement as they reached the Storeroom. Ginny cast an Unlocking Charm, and Harry quickly followed it up with a stronger one of his own, which was able to open the lock.

They slipped in quickly, and sealed the door behind them. They searched the shelves for the ingredients which were sorted by usefulness. As they expected, Gillyweed was in the back of the room, inside a jar of Freshwater, which was what it needed to survive. It could stay outside in the air for about 3 minutes before it would start spoiling.

Harry pulled out the little pouch filled with the water of the Black Lake, which Hedwig had helped them acquire. She'd flown over the lake, pouch in leg, and had managed to get a good amount of water in the pouch.

Ginny levitated the Jar in front of them, and he took four of the plants, and placed them in the pouch. Professor Trent had a lot of those, so he didn't feel too bad about taking them.

Ginny levitated the Jar back as he put the pouch away and drew out the Invisibility Cloak. He threw it over them as they made their way out of the room, successfully passing by undetected.

He put the Cloak away when they were in the basement, and they made their way out of the Castle to go for a run around the Black Lake, when they saw that there were a lot of people there, setting up seats along the shore of the Lake. Harry frowned in confusion.

"Yeah, they've been doing that since this morning," Ginny said.

"How do you know?" He asked curiously.

"We get a good view from the Girl's side of the Tower," she explained.

"So… can we jog or not?" Harry asked her.

"Well," she said, the corner of her lip curving up. "Guess we'll find out, won't we?"

With that, she took off running, and Harry tore after her. "Last to our spot is Dragon's Dung!" she exclaimed as she sped up to a sprint.

He raced after her, both of them being able to run past the harried workers. He and Ginny ran around the shore of the Lake, out of view of the castle.

Ginny was able to reach their spot- the clearing that they had found back in their First Year- first, and she immediately crouched down when she did. Harry, curious as to what she was doing, went forward.

The curiosity lasted only a few seconds as she quickly turned around and hit him with a snowball near his neck. He just stared at her blankly as she smiled at him with an innocent smile. "Well," he said finally. "You're dead."

With that, he abandoned the snowballs and ran forward. Taken by surprise, she wasn't able to run very far before Harry caught her by the waist and they both fell on the snow, their shirts soaking wet. He tickled her mercilessly with his hands as she laughed and writhed under him.

"Do you give up?" He asked, stopping and giving her a chance to catch her breath.

"Never," she panted. She grunted and then started tickling him, and he retaliated by trying to do the same to her, both of them squirming over each other to avoid each other's hands.

Finally, she was able to pin him down, sitting on him and holding his hands over his head. But she didn't move to tickle him, she just looked down at him with a flushed face, and a hard, blazing look, both of them breathing heavily.

"You caught me," was all Harry's brain was able to come up with.

She swallowed. "What's my reward?" She asked, leaning closer to him, loosening the hold on his hands.

He reached up and kissed her heatedly on the face, and she didn't hesitate to respond with just as much vigour. She was cupping his face now, having released his hands, and he rested them on her hip, sliding them closer and closer to the hem of her shirt.

He pulled back just a little. "Can I…?" He trailed off, not knowing how to form his request, never having gone that far.

She seemed to understand though, for she just nodded and kissed him again. He slid his hands up her shirt, revelling in the feel of her soft skin. She tugged at shirt and he sat them up, feeling her hand below his shirt, and he gave her an affirmative nod when she pulled back and opened her mouth to ask.

They stayed there like that, just kissing, and touching for… well, Harry didn't know, or care, how long, and even despite the cold, it was an amazing time, but they had to break apart when they heard a shout near the lake. They peeked over from behind the bushes they were hiding and saw that someone had blotched a Levitation Spell while trying to do it silently, which had caused the pillar to fall into the Lake.

"Well, how the hell are you going to explain this?" Ginny asked, pointing at his neck.

He reached up and saw that the skin felt weird. "Did you give me a fucking hickey?" He asked, letting out a chuckle.

She bit her lip to keep from smiling wider than she was and nodded. "I may have," she said.

Harry just hummed. He wouldn't be able to hide it unless he wore a really long turtleneck, and he didn't own any of those. "I could always just tell them that my super hot and very secret girlfriend gave it to me," he said, shrugging.

"Or I could use some concealer and hide it like I do mine," she suggested.

"Yeah, that's probably a better idea," Harry agreed with a chuckle. "But I'm telling you now, whenever we decide to tell everyone, I'm going to be proudly wearing these Love bites."

She just gave him a wide smile and laughed. "Oh, yeah?" She asked.

"Absolutely," he said firmly. "Might give the other girls an excuse to back off if I do."

"Well, I'll look forward to the scathing looks I'll be getting from those other girls, then," she said, smiling when Harry laughed.

《••••••••••••••••••••》

Harry and Ginny did have their jog, but they had to retreat to the Great Hall soon after that. They wanted to see Cedric, and they knew that he would be there by the time they reached the place.

They found him sitting on one of the tables near the middle of the Hall, and knew that something was wrong with him. He looked like he hadn't slept a wink, and Lucien was trying to comfort him.

"You don't know if she'll be fine," Cedric muttered in a defeated tone.

"I do," Lucien said. "You'll save her."

"I don't know if I can, Luce," Cedric replied.

"Don't call me that, and yes, you can," Lucien responded. "You won't let her die. It's not who you are."

Cedric just shook his head dejectedly, and it was then that Lucien noticed Harry and Ginny lurking awkwardly in the background. He gave them a tight smile. "Hey guys," he said, causing Cedric to turn around.

"Hey/Hi," Harry and Ginny responded.

Cedric nodded at them and went back to eating but not really eating his breakfast. From his mood, Harry could make out that Cho had been taken as the 'one thing he would miss most.'

"Cho was taken, wasn't she?" Harry asked as he and Ginny sat down. Cedric just nodded as Lucien grimaced.

"Lucien's right," Ginny said, placing a hand on Cedric's shoulder. "You won't let her die."

Cedric shook his head again. "I'm not good enough," he said, but then he snapped his gaze to Harry and Ginny with a burning intensity. "Save her," was all he said.

"What?" Harry and Ginny said, sharing a bewildered glance.

"I don't know if I can save her from whatever the hell they've cooked up, but you two can," Cedric said. "Please. If I can't do it within forty minutes…"

"We'll do it," Ginny said, then she turned to him. "Right?"

"Right," Harry agreed. He thought that Cedric would be able to do it, but that wasn't a reason to deny him that promise.

"Thank you," Cedric said, blowing out a breath. "Thank you."

"Don't mention it," Harry and Ginny said.

It wasn't too long after that the Champions were called away, and the rest of the students were led out of the Great Hall and towards the Black Lake. Harry and Ginny chose an out of the way area to sit down, and this time, they decided to sit close to Dumbledore and Moody.

"Ladies and Gentlemen!" Ludo Bagman's Magically Enchanted voice boomed. "Welcome to the Second Task! As of the First Task, the positions are such: Fleur Delacour of Beauxbatons in first place, Cedric Diggory of Hogwarts in second place, and Viktor Krum of Durmstrang in third place. Each of the champions succeeded in retrieving a Golden Egg from the nest of a Mother Dragon. Every Egg contained a clue, and that clue would give the Champions the answer to the task if they have interpreted it properly."

"For the second task, the three champions have an hour to rescue their hostage from the merpeople who live in the lake at Hogwarts," Bagman barreled on. "The three hostages taken are: Gabrielle Delacour for Fleur Delacour, Cho Chang for Cedric Diggory, and Hermione Granger for Viktor Krum. But for now, please let us have a round of applause for our three Champions!"

The crowd applauded and cheered as the Champions made their way out of the archway under the centre of the arc of seats that had been constructed along the shore of the Black Lake. The archway led straight into a dock, and the Champions took their places there. Cedric and Viktor were wearing a yellow and red t-shirt respectively, along with a pair of black shorts, while Fleur was wearing a pale blue swimsuit.

"The Task will begin at the sound of the cannon," Bagman continued. Just then, Filch fired the cannon, causing Bagman to give him an annoyed look. "Yes, well, the Task begins!"

All the three Champions cast a Bubble Head Charm on themselves and proceeded to jump into the Lake that was undoubtedly freezing right about now.

Soon, three rectangles shimmered into view a few metres away from the stands, seemingly hanging in the middle of the air unsupported. The rectangles were next to each other, and soon they could see Cedric on the left screen, Fleur on the centre screen, and Viktor on the right screen. Currently, they were just swimming in the Water, but Harry couldn't help but be amazed at the fact that the entire Lake had probably been Enchanted just for this purpose.

Bagman had a self satisfied smile on his place, and, for once, Harry thought he deserved it.

They saw Cedric swimming over the plants in the sea, and Harry was glad for it. That meant that the creatures in the plants- and the plants themselves- probably wouldn't attack him.

Krum swam in a different direction altogether, and if the hostages were held at the same Mer village that Dumbledore had taken Harry and Ginny to, Krum might win. The problem, however, was that he was going right through the plants with no regard for his own safety.

Harry wasn't able to do anything but watch as the older boy was struck in the shin with a long and rather thorny looking plant, causing a large gash to appear where it had struck him.

Krum whirled around and cast a Severing Charm at the plants, causing them to break off and start floating to the surface of the Lake. He flicked his Wand at his leg, and a set of bandages formed around the wound, binding themselves tightly to his shin.

Krum moved on without a hitch, but the same couldn't be said for Fleur, who had run into a nest of Grindylows just before Krum had cast the bandages.

This was a rather large one, with over 10 of the little creatures surrounding her. She cast Stunning Spells, Bludgeoning Hexes, and another Spell Harry didn't know, but none of those seemed to work at a long range in the Water.

Fleur fought valiantly with her Wand, but after she took a third gash, this time on her face, she screamed in anger, her Wand forgotten.

She started transforming into a red skinned Harpy-like creature. Her face turned into a cruel-beaked bird head while long scaly wings burst from her shoulders. Fireballs formed on her hands and she launched them at two of the Grindylows.

She screamed again, and the Grindylows seemed more than a bit worried this time. She didn't care, though. She threw Fireball after Fireball at the little monsters until they all perished.

"And that, my friends," Bagman said. "Is why you should never piss off a Veela! I mean, did you see that form?"

Fleur started turning back to normal, and Harry noticed she looked very tired. She took a moment to collect herself and swam towards the right side of the Lake again, which was, unfortunately, the wrong way.

Krum had circled over the hole twice at this point, and Harry was impressed at his method of not rushing in blind. Krum soon dived in though, and Harry saw that Cedric was right behind him.

Fleur, however, had run into another set of plants that tried to kill her, and this time she wasn't able to fight back as well as she fought the Grindylows. The plants had her bound by her hands and her feet, and then something in her swimsuit pocket glowed blue.

They saw Fleur get sucked into a Vortex on the screen, and soon after, they could hear someone screaming in French from the Champions' tent. The Screen in the middle shimmered away, and the other two moved towards the centre

"And Fleur Delacour is out!" Bagman cried. "Oh, what a pity. After such a spectacular performance so far, the leading Champion has been eliminated from this task."

Harry felt bad for her, he didn't know if he could function if someone took Ginny- and he had no doubts that it would be Ginny- as a 'hostage' in the Black Lake just for the sole reason of entertainment. Ginny took her hand in his and gave it a gentle squeeze.

Krum and Cedric had reached the Colosseum-like area in the centre of the Mer village, and there, they could see the Three hostages floating in the water, tied to the floor of the structure by a weird sort of rope.

Cedric and Krum cast a Severing Charm on Cho and Hermione respectively. Krum got Hermione and started swimming away, but Cedric stayed behind, looking around, presumably for Fleur. It was then that the audience saw a white eye with brown pupils open behind the champion. Cedric, however, missed it, and went to free Gabrielle.

A large area around the eye shimmered, and whitish-blue scales came into view. The creature that the eye belonged to had a set of fins that they could see when it turned.

Krum broke the surface of the water and his screen shimmered out of view, placing Cedric's screen in the centre. Krum and Hermione climbed on to the dock as the creature lunged at Cedric, who cast a Carpe Retractum at the last moment, managing to evade the jaws of the sea serpent.

Harry had a bad feeling about this, and judging by Ginny's face, she did too. Dumbledore and the Aurors started ushering the rest of them out of there, but Harry wasn't about to leave his friend in there alone, and he knew Ginny wouldn't either.

Which was why Harry drew out his pouch of Gillyweed, offered one portion to Ginny while he ate the other one himself. Immediately, they felt the changes coming in, and he put the pouch back in his pocket as he built up his Wandless Magic and jumped into the Lake, aware of Ginny doing the same.

He put a little distance between him and Ginny so that he could cast the Propelling Charm without affecting her trajectory. It was a Charm that made a person speed through the Water in the direction they were pointing their Wand in, which was usually the front, like Harry was doing right now.

He cast the Charm, Progredior, and he felt himself going faster and faster through the Water. If he could fly without a broom, he assumed this was what it would feel like. Without all the water, of course.

He heard the sound of water splashing beside him, and knew that Ginny had cast the Charm too. Together, they made their way to the hole that Dumbledore had led them to last year, and cancelled their Charms there. They swam down the hole the normal way, not wanting to run into a trap on their way down, or when they came out of the hole below.

The first thing they saw when they entered was a Leviathan on the other side of the village. It was impaled with spears with ropes attached to them, and several of the Merfolk were holding it in place while Cedric tried getting Gabrielle and Cho out of the village.

The Leviathan broke free, though, and it lunged at the Merpeople, who swam away. It then went after Cedric, who was frantically trying to swim away from the Leviathan.

Harry and Ginny had enough at that point, and propelled themselves towards the Leviathan. From up close, the creature was even more terrifying than what they'd seen of it in the books and the stories.

It was considerably longer than the Basilisk that he and Ginny had faced, but it wasn't as girthy, giving it a sleek appearance. It had auburn hair where its Dragon-like head connected to its body. It also had two horns on its head and its underside had scales that were so large that they almost looked like armor plates.

Harry cast a Conjunctivitis Curse at it to get its attention, but it fizzled out in the Water before the Spell could get close to the creature. Harry then decided to cast Oppugno on a large boulder and pointed his Wand at the Leviathan.

The boulder was launched at the Leviathan, and this time, it actually made contact, causing the Leviathan to turn to him. It screeched, a terrible sound that grated on Harry's ears, and then lunged at him.

It was scary, facing a Leviathan head on, especially when it was speeding towards you with an open mouth. But having a friend like Ginny who pulled one out of such situations made the fight a whole lot easier. And that was exactly what she did for him. He felt himself being pulled towards her, and the Leviathan's jaw closed on an empty stone hut.

He and Ginny swam away to another side though, not wanting to stick too close to the creature. The Merfolk had a good opening here, and they shot more spears, and this time, tridents at it.

But the Leviathan wiggled around, and the projectiles simply bounced off of it. Ginny went to help the Merfolk, while Harry went to the house where Cedric was hiding with Cho and Gabrielle.

On his way there, though, Fleur came in through the hole, freezing at the scene of the Leviathan wreaking havoc around the village. Harry decided to cast the Patronus Charm towards her.

Prongs managed to catch her attention, and Harry frantically waved at her to come over. "Where is Gabrielle?" She asked when she was close enough.

Harry was confused as to how she could still talk before he remembered that a Bubble Head Charm allowed people to talk underwater. As it was, he didn't have that, so he just pointed at the House Cedric was peeking out of, and Fleur sped off there.

That particular problem taken care of, Harry went to help Ginny, who had just cast a Powerful Explosion Curse on the Leviathan. The Curse worked, but it didn't damage the Leviathan's scales. Instead, it just created an underwater explosion that sent the nearby Mer sprawling away from the Explosion's point of origin.

They would need to get under its scales for anything remotely lethal to take place, so he sped up and cast Defodio, the Boring Hex, on the Scales of the creature.

It didn't have as much of an effect as it usually would, but he did succeed in knocking a few of the scales aside, giving everyone a good shot at the thing. He cast a green spark on it as the Leviathan swam away to regroup. He flicked his Wand, causing orange words to form in the water: Hit the Green Light.

Everyone seemed to have gotten the message and they pelted the spot with everything they had: Tridents, Spears, and Spells- in Harry and Ginny's case.

Quite a few of them made contact and blood was furiously pouring out of the hole as everyone was blasted aside by the force generated by the Leviathan's body when it swam below them to avoid getting hit.

Harry was concerned that it would go after Fleur and Cedric, who had just gone through the hole leading to the surface, when the Leviathan turned back to them and snarled. It was lying still right now, not charging as it usually would, and regarding them with a calculating eye.

It charged at them again, and they avoided it again, but the same couldn't be said for a few others, because the Leviathan changed course at the last moment, clamping its jaws around a large chunk of Merpeople that had gone the other route.

Blood poured out of the Leviathan's jaws as it turned and came at Harry and Ginny this time, both of whom feigned going down, attracting the creature's attention. They cast an Ascendio at the last moment, propelling themselves upwards above the Leviathan's Head as it crashed into a large building behind them.

Harry and Ginny cast Defodio Maxima at the Leviathan's Head, causing its scales to move aside to expose the flesh, where they cast an Explosion Curse. But the Leviathan moved, and the Spell hit the scales, sending Harry and Ginny spinning away from the creature.

Harry pointed his Wand upwards and cast a Propelling Charm, sending him towards the ceiling of the village, and it was a good thing he did too, because he soon saw the Leviathan clamp its jaws shut where Harry was just a few moments ago.

The Leviathan looked up at him and snarled as it charged upwards.

《••••••••••••••••••••》

Ginny wanted to scream when she saw the Leviathan going up towards Harry, but she should have expected that he would be able to evade it. She was just deciding on a way to capture the creature's attention when she felt something calling to her with a promise of help.

She swam over to the source of it, curious to see what it could be. It was near the small structure that the Leviathan had swam into when Harry and Ginny had cast the Boring Hex at it. Ginny moved a few bricks away using her Wandless Magic, and found that the source of the call was the Trident she, Harry, and Dumbledore had found in the underwater Cursed Vault.

The Trident was unlike any other she had seen, this one was silver in color, and it was made out of the finest metal Ginny had ever seen in her life. It had a blue gemstone in the centre with what looked like an eagle in the centre of the gemstone, but she couldn't be sure underwater.

She debated over using it, very well aware that the last time she'd used a foreign Magical Object, it had turned out to be Ekrizdis Black in Djinn form. She and Harry had died, Remus had lost a lot of years from his life, and she didn't want any part of it again.

But after watching Harry almost get swallowed by a Leviathan again, she knew her decision was made.

She reached out with her right hand and picked up the Trident. Her entire arm filled up with warmth, the good, familiar kind of warmth, despite it being filled with Power. She knew that the Trident would help her.

She saw Harry swim towards the Colosseum and she pointed her Wand there, casting Propello. She reached the Colosseum shortly, watching Harry slam a pillar onto the Leviathan's face.

The Trident wanted to blend with her Magic, and Ginny didn't feel so bad about letting it do so. There wasn't a risk here, this wasn't Dark Magic.

She came near the floor and held the Trident out, reaching out with her Magic as she slammed its end on the floor. A loud boom went off from the Trident, and a translucent wave of energy was released from the Trident, heading towards the Leviathan.

Immediately, it was as though a link had been formed, and she could feel the Leviathan's mind, which she could not let go of, otherwise it would escape, and kill everyone.

She had to fight tooth and nail to gain some semblance of dominance, but she was unsuccessful. What she could do, however, was keep it occupied till the Mer and Harry were able to tie it down, which they were able to do.

"Go!" Thaddeo told them as Harry came to check on her. "We can hold it. Go. We shall talk later."

She went to hand the Trident back, but Thaddeo moved away. "It is yours," he said. "I cannot accept it."

"What?" She asked, but only bubbles came out of her mouth.

Thankfully, Thaddeo seemed to understand. "It is yours," he repeated. "I shall explain later. Send Albus down."

Harry nodded before she could ask anything else and grabbed her arm, taking them out of the cave, despite her non-verbal protests. They were a good distance away from the hole on the surface side when he cast a Bubble Head Charm over himself.

"He said that he would talk to us later," Harry explained as she crossed her arms as best she could while holding the Trident.

She cast a Bubble Head Charm of her own. "I wanted to know more," she grounded out.

"And you, or we, will," he said patiently. "We just need to regroup. And they need Dumbledore."

She bit her lip, hating that he was right, but nodded anyway. But just then, a piercing roar was heard from the entrance to the village, causing a sinking feeling to erupt in her stomach.

The Leviathan came up the hole at a furious speed, and it charged at them. Ginny looked at Harry, who was staring back at her. "Cast Everte Statum!" He told her, pointing his Wand at her. "NOW!"

She didn't hesitate to cast the Spell at the same time Harry did, and she felt herself go flying back. She also felt her Wand vibrate in disapproval, and she somehow knew that Harry's had the same effect.

She and Harry went sprawling when the Leviathan came up, and this time, she knew it had broken the surface of the Lake. It dived back down into the Water again, though, coming straight at her.

It was truly terrifying, she thought, facing a Leviathan head on while alone. But Harry pulled her out of harm's way with a Carpe Retractum.

"The Trident!" Harry yelled, recasting the Bubble Head Charm.

She nodded, pointing the Trident at the creature, and reaching out with her Magic, focusing on the Leviathan's mind. She was able to feel it again, but it was resisting her efforts quite a bit, so she increased her reach to the point that her head was starting to hurt.

But it was no use, the Leviathan was overpowering her, she wasn't skilled enough at… whatever the hell she was doing to be able to actually control it, but that didn't stop her from trying, or from increasing her efforts.

She screamed due to the energy it was taking her, and she felt Harry grab the Trident to add his own Magic to it, which made it a lot easier, but it still wasn't enough to take control. Together, they thrust the Trident forward, and it vibrated, emitting a loud boom as it released a Giant wave of translucent energy that struck the Leviathan, who flew back a little, unmoving.

Did they just…?

No, surely not.

But the Leviathan did not move, and its eyes were dimmed as it sank into the Depths of the Lake. A sure indicator that it died.

Harry's hand around her waist was the breaking point for her, everything was just too much. The Leviathan, the dead Mer, the fact that the entire village might be dead… She turned around and buried her face in Harry's shoulder as he stroked her back.

"It's okay," Harry said, pressing a long kiss to the top of her head. "It's going to be okay."

《••••••••••••••••••••》

A/N 2: Yeah, so like I said. Chaotic. This might not be what you liked, and I debated doing something else, but I just wanted to do this here for a separate plot line I'm working on.

Yes, there is a reason I make them kill so many monsters, even though it might just seem like I'm doing it for the fun of it.

Anyway, please tell me what you thought of the Chapter, and I'll see you in the next one!

Byee!!!
