Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Buffy vs. Dracula: The Real Story
Chapter One
Buffy watched the girl approaching them warily. Even Willow paused in her spell-casting to watch her. Xander was being…Xander, much to Anya's dislike. The girl stopped next to Buffy, nodding to Riley. "Buffy Summers?" Buffy smiled. "That's me. Can I help you?" The girl shrugged. "I'm Kat. Katarina Warwick. Are you the Slayer?" Buffy's smile faded. "Not so loud!" Kat nodded. "Right. Sorry." Anya slapped Xander. "Close your mouth. She's not that pretty." Kat, at the same moment, flipped her reddish ponytail of her shoulder. Willow smiled. "How about some warmth?" She waved her hand at the firepit. "Igneous Incinde!" The pit burst into flames, and Kat jumped. Tara placed an arm on her shoulder. "Are you alright?" Kat nodded, holding out her hand, palm towards the flames. The flames shot up, circled the group once, and shot into Kat's outstretched palm. Her eyes darkened, and her voice was deep, echoing slightly, as though someone else were speaking through her. "I hate fire." Suddenly, it began to rain heavily. Kat's eyes turned back to blue. She took off running. "I have to go!" she called. Willow frowned as the rain intensified. "It wasn't me!" she yelled as they began running.
Meanwhile, workers unloaded a crate of dirt from the back of a truck. Kat watched them struggle with it, dropping it halfway out of the truck so it stood up. "Careful with that!" Kat snapped. "It's very fragile. My father would have a cow if he saw this." One of the workers faced her. "Your father is hauling dirt, little lady. We ain't gettin' paid enough to…" But exactly what he wasn't getting paid enough to do, Kat never found out, because at that moment, a hand broke free of the coffin-sized crate, swiping across the man's throat and killing him instantly. The other man screamed and took off running. Kat shook her head wearily. "Are you going to do that every time someone drops you?" The hand retracted as the rest of the crate's lid was wrenched off. A tall, dark figure emerged from inside the dirt. "No. But I will whenever someone annoys you, which he was doing." Kat shook her head and moved to walk inside the mansion. "Katarina!" Kat winced slightly at the Transylvanian pronunciation of her name. "Yes?" "The Slayer?" Kat nodded. "You were right. Buffy Summers."
