Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here, the current story arc is underway, as the semifinals of the tournament is currently ongoing and now we are moments away from results…where the match would reach an unexpected climax…

Well then, read on and enjoy!

Ch. 43: Budō tōnamento part 15

Back at the stadium, the audience were starting to get enveloped in excitement as Bakugo and Kendo put up a good battle as both showed physical power and tenacity, having fought back and forth with neither one backing off, which made the audience excited in seeing such a tremendous display of YOUTHFUL ENERGY and determination.

The audience were so invested into the match and they all chanted Bakugo and Kendo, calling their names as a way to show admiration and support as the two teens showed a good display of fighting spirits in the match, which started to overshadow Suiryu's.

"Bakugo! Bakugo!"

"Bakugo! Bakugo!"

"Bakugo! Bakugo!"

"Bakugo! Bakugo!"

"Kendo! Kendo!"

"Kendo! Kendo!"

"Kendo! Kendo!"

"Kendo! Kendo!"

However as both teens fought near the edge of the arena, they grappled before accidentally falling off towards the outside of the arena and hit the ground simultaneously, and the referee clearly saw that it was a double elimination and deemed a draw.

The audience heard what the referee said, and couldn't believe that there is no clear winner in this match and expressed dismay that the match ended in a controversial manner.

"What?"

"A draw?"

"So there's no winner…?"

"Dang…"

"What now? There's the other semifinals match…"

"But how? If Bakugo and Kendo are eliminated…"

"Then it's straight to the finals…"

"For real…?"

The audience were surprised by the turn of events, as they didn't expect that this match would end in a draw, and wondered what would happen if the same happens in the next match, which made the audience ponder what the organizers would do about something unprecedented. However, majority of the audience continue to chant for Bakugo and Kendo.

"Bakugo! Bakugo!"

"Bakugo! Bakugo!"

"Bakugo! Bakugo!"

"Bakugo! Bakugo!"

"Kendo! Kendo!"

"Kendo! Kendo!"

"Kendo! Kendo!"

"Kendo! Kendo!"

Nearby, Kirishima approached Bakugo and commended him for a well-fought match, though Bakugo said that it means nothing if it shows that he and Kendo ended up getting eliminated, as he expressed hope of facing Suiryu, but Kirishima said that the tournament officials are holding off in announcing the results, reasoning that once the winner of the Suiryu-Uraraka is announced, then the committee would decide on the Bakugo-Kendo results.

"You serious?"

"That's what I heard…"

"Really?"

"I'm pretty sure that the results would come out…"

"Hmph."

"So for now…relax."

"…fine…"

"Heh…"

Likewise, Uraraka and Ojiro approached Kendo and complimented her for a good showing, though the Class 1B president said that she is disappointed that she and Bakugo would end up getting eliminated, but Ojiro said that the committee would withhold the decision until the Suiryu-Uraraka results are out.

"Really…?"

"Yeah. And depending on the Suiryu-Uraraka match…the committee would not say anything until after the next match…"

"That's right, Kendo."

"Hmm…I see…"

"So for now the committee would see how Uraraka's match with Suiryu would go…"

"I'm sure I can beat that guy!"

"Whoa…"

"So for now…take a break, Kendo."

"Ojiro is right. You fought well."

Kendo blinked her eyes at hearing this, and wondered what this means, though she tells Uraraka to get ready as she is about to face Suiryu, and advised her to stay focus, saying that there's a chance that he might resort to dirty tactics to make her lose her cool and he would take advantage of it to win the match, which Ojiro agreed, recalling how Suiryu harassed Uraraka and Kendo earlier.

"You should focus, Uraraka."

"Don't give in to his provocation."

"Okay."

"And if you ever get close to the edge of the arena…try to be subtle so that he won't suspect anything."

"And take note. His fighting skills is probably advanced than yours…even if you took lessons from Silverfang..."

"Yeah. I'll be careful."

"Okay. Good luck, Uraraka."

"Do your best."

"I will."

Meanwhile, the committee members are having an emergency debate on what to do, as they did not anticipate that a draw took place during the semifinals, and half of the committee members voted to have Bakugo and Kendo eliminated and make the Suiryu-Uraraka match become the finals match so as to address the situation to avoid complications.

However, the other half of the committee decline, saying that it is unfair since the semifinals involved four participants, and hastily turning the remaining semifinals match into the finals would be an insult to the audience, as well as they pointed out that what if the Suiryu-Uraraka match ended in a draw like what happened to the Bakugo-Kendo match.

"I say we make the next match as the finals. That way we can end this without complicating things."

"I agree."

"I agree."

"I agree."

"No. It would be an insult and cheating the audience. The semifinals will proceed. Now in the event that there is a winner, then we would decide on who Suiryu would face against. And in case of another draw, we will come up with something that would be fair to the participants."

"I agree."

"I agree."

"I agree."

One committee member then suggested that the remaining semifinals match go on as scheduled, saying that once a clear winner is decided, then they would figure out what to do with the results of the Bakugo-Kendo match, so that things would look fair to all parties involved so that there won't be anything POLITICAL involved in the matter.

He also said that in the event that the Suiryu-Uraraka match also ends up in a draw, then it would be best if the four participants advance to the finals and have them fought in a battle royal-style format, where one has to throw the others out of the arena and the last participant standing would be the grand winner.

"…and that's my suggestion. It would be a fair way to settle this in case of another draw. What do you say? It would be simple, right?"

"Hmmm…"

"Hmmm…"

"Hmmm…"

"Hmmm…"

"Hmmm…"

"Hmmm…"

"Hmmm…"

The other committee members thought about it, and reluctantly conceded that this suggestion is a viable one, and all came to an agreement and decided to withhold the Bakugo-Kendo match for now and have the Suiryu-Uraraka match to proceed without delay, so that the audience would get to enjoy the tournament.

A hidden feather is shown and RECORDED the conversation, and at the audiences' seats, Hawks heard it loud and clear, and whispered to Mount Lady, Kamui Woods and Edge Shot about it, surprising the trio while Hawks said that it is a good call as this would show that the committee are unwilling to cheat out their audience and to give them a complete semifinals matches without resorting to shortcuts.

"Whoa…"

"So they did the right thing…"

"And it would not cause any inconveniences…"

"I know, right? They know that the committee would lose sponsors if the audience reacted negatively if the committee went with their planned shortcut…"

"I see…"

"So that's it…"

"That's good…"

"I know, right?"

At the same time, the Blizzard Group are also aware as Fubuki uses her psychic abilities to MENTALLY MONITOR the committee's reaction and confided it to her two subordinates, and the trio felt that the committee did the right thing, though Mountain Ape wondered if the Suiryu-Uraraka match would end up in a draw like what happened to the Bakugo-Kendo match.

Eyelashes agreed, saying that it could be unlikely that something like the Bakugo-Kendo results would repeat itself in the Suiryu-Uraraka match though Fubuki said that anything is possible, and what they saw a while ago is something unexpected and now things are becoming unpredictable, and once the Suiryu-Uraraka match reaches the climax, the end-result would determine the outcome.

"And this is where we would see things here."

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

"Ochako Uraraka…if she managed to defeat Suiryu…then she is worth recruiting."

"Really?"

"You sure?"

"Yes. This would be a test for her to show if she has what it takes to be a pro hero…"

"Hmm…"

"Makes sense…"

As the Blizzard Group members are still discussing, they seemingly failed to notice that Snakefist Snek and Lightning Max overheard the conversation, and the two pro heroes are also debating on what the outcome of the other match would be like, feeling that the Suiryu-Uraraka match ending in a draw may be unlikely to happen, yet they could not disclose such possibility.

They also wondered, in the event that all four participants would end up participating in the finals, how would the committee address it, as this never happened before, which Snek feels that the committee might resort to shortcuts just to show that the committee aren't playing favorites, which Max felt that the tournament officials doesn't want to show unwanted complications.

"You think so, Snek?"

"That's what I think…"

"In case of a double draw…how would the committee…"

"If that ever happens…we would know later…"

"…"

"So we wait and see…"

"Okay…"

"Now then…"

A few minutes have passed and the ring announcer came out and announced that the results of the Bakugo-Kendo match would be withheld for the time being as the Suiryu-Uraraka match will proceed as scheduled, which some of the audiences, mostly females fans, began to chant for Suiryu, due to being attracted to his charms.

"Suiryu! Suiryu!"

"Suiryu! Suiryu!"

"Suiryu! Suiryu!"

"Suiryu! Suiryu!"

"Suiryu! Suiryu!"

"Suiryu! Suiryu!"

"Suiryu! Suiryu!"

"Suiryu! Suiryu!"

Kirishima, Ojiro and Kendo then encouraged Uraraka to give her all and not fall victim to Suiryu's provocation as he might do that during the match, which Uraraka nodded as she said that she would definitely win the semifinal round and make it to the finals, determined to win the prize money and give it to her parents as a way to support them financially.

"Go for it, Uraraka!"

"Do your best!"

"Show that Suiryu who's the boss!"

"Okay!"

"Be careful though. His fighting skills could be better than yours…"

"Just focus and you might find an opening…"

"You can do it, Uraraka!"

"I will!"
