Summary: Remus goes through a box after Sirius is taken to Azkaban.
The Box
"Don't let me see that other side of you." -Guster
Everything ended up in a box. A shoebox in the back of Sirius' closet. I found it the day after they took him away. It was full of snapshots mostly, but there were a few letters in there.
'Padfoot, I love you so much. Meet me during free period in the Astronomy Tower, okay? Love you, Prongs.'
'Prongs, you are so fucking horny it's not even funny. That being said, I will gladly meet you in the Astronomy Tower during free period. Love you, Padfootd.'
It took little imagination to figure out what they had done in the Astronomy Tower. Remus didn't even like to imagine. He shook his head, pushing aside images of Sirius like that . . . Sirius happy . . . before all this.
'Kiss my ass, Potter.'
'That sounds vaguely familiar.'
'You don't even know what vaguely is.'
'Sod off, Black.'
Remus remembered this. Sirius had cursed out loud in Potions class and got detention. He and James didn't talk for the rest of the week. What had that fight been about? Lily? Remus lit a cigarette and leafed through more notes and snapshots with his free hand.
There was a photograph of the famous snowball fight from fourth year. A picture of James and Sirius curled up the fire that Remus had taken sixth year. Sirius and James dancing together. The Marauders. Sirius at James and Lily's wedding, although Lily was no where to be found.
At the bottom was a letter addressed to Sirius from James.
'Sirius,
Don't tell anyone I said this, but I'm so scared right now. It's not that I don't think it will work. I trust you . . . with everything. I'm just so scared for Lily and Harry and you. I love you so much, Sirius. Don't let anything happen to you, okay?
Yours,
James'
Remus swore. "Dammit, Sirius. How could you?"
