Chapter 27

I left the dining room and made my way back upstairs. I couldn't stop thinking about all of those things that he had said. Had I been lied to? All of this was making my head hurt. I knocked on the bedroom door.

"Dabi it's me."

The door quickly opened, and he pulled me inside, locking it behind me.

"Where have you been? It's been more than ten minutes."

"I got the note to someone I trust, but when I tried to come back I couldn't remember what the room looked like. So I had no choice but to go through the dining room… but All For One was there."

"Does he know?"

I shook my head. "I told him that I only let to go get a blanket. He thinks that I am staying for you. So, I just let him believe it."

He sighed. "So everything is okay? Right?"

"I guess, but I don't know he was saying all of these weird things and now I'm all confused because I don't know who to trust."

"What did he say?"

I explained to him the conversation that we'd just had in the dining room and all he could do was stare.

"Okay. I can see where you're confused." he'd said.

"Now I don't know. I'm still going to try and help take down these villains. That hasn't changed, but… I don't know."

"Okay, one step at a time. All that matters is that you got that piece of paper for someone. We can try tomorrow night again. You can go meet them and speak to them some more, but not until you memorize every corner of this room. We don't need you having another run-in with All For One."

I nodded. "Right. That was enough father-daughter time to last me a lifetime."

He smiled. "Come, let's go to bed. You've had a rough night."

We laid down. He was right. Hopefully, tomorrow would be easier.

I found myself at the dining room table. Again. It's as if there were no other rooms in this place. Playing pretend family, but this time minus Tomura. I wasn't exactly sad about his not being there. All For One sat quietly and ate his food. Kurogiri stood in his usual place by the door. Dabi sat right beside me and ate. I barely ate, I just picked at my food.

"Why am I here?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" he said continuing to eat.

I put the fork down. "What am I doing here? Why did you kidnap me to the middle of nowhere?"

He stopped eating and looked up at me. "I am giving you what you want."

"What I want, what are you talking about?"

"You wanted to be with Dabi. Did you not? I also wanted to spend time with you."

I gripped the handles of the chair. "You expect me to believe that you want me to be happy? To give me everything that I've ever wanted. Especially after everything you've done."

"Is that so difficult to believe? I am your father after all."

I threw my hands up into the air. "You just threatened to blow things up if I didn't fix your face!"

He put his hands up in defense. "That may have been uncalled for. My parenting skills are very rusty. I couldn't see you listening to me if I had just asked nicely."

Well, he isn't wrong about that.

"Oh so you would do anything for me is what you're saying?"

"Name your price," he said in all seriousness.

I leaned back into my chair and folded my arms. "Turn yourself in and turn in the rest of your organization," I said in a haughty tone.

"If I agree, how much time will I get to spend with you before I have to turn myself in; I would like for you to visit me in prison."

My arms dropped. I blinked. I was only kidding when I said all that. I didn't think he would actually entertain what I was saying. I looked at Dabi and he was as shocked as I was. I looked back over at All For One.

"Are you being serious right now?"

He took a sip from his glass. "I don't see why not. I have grown tired of being on the run. World domination seems and wiping out quirks seem… pointless. Almost as if-"

"It doesn't matter because you've got what you really wanted. You're not alone anymore." Dabi finished for him.

"Is… is that true?"

He gave me a small smile. "I suppose so."

"Why should I believe you?"

He gave me a bigger smile this time. "Because I believed your blanket story. Did you really think I bought all of that? I handed you Kurogiri's quirk on a silver platter Yami. I'm guessing you passed on some sort of information to the heroes, and that is alright. I have been alive for a little over a century. I would hope that you didn't think I was that gullible." He laughed. "Only a teenager would think they would outsmart their parent."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. How stupid was I?

"Why?"

"This time I've spent with you… has been nice."

"Nice? You almost made me kill you."

He shrugged. "I am a bit twisted. Old habits do die hard Yami. Again, my parenting skills are not the best. You seem to have turned out alright though."

I shook my head. "You're just saying these things. You don't really mean them."

"Oh, I do. When you touched my shoulder, I felt it Yami. That same sensation when I'd hit All Might. It was brief but I would know that feeling anywhere. You copied One For All, and if I wanted to I would have taken it from you, but I didn't"

I checked to see if he was telling the truth and he was. He hadn't taken it. Before I could even say anything, the doors were thrown open. It was Tomura.

"What is this love and family shit that you're spewing!"

"Shigaraki. How nice of you to join us.

"Do not bullshit me. She turns up and suddenly and you're ready to just give up on everything? On the plan!?"

"She's been my plan from the very start. You… what I did to you was an unfortunate situation. A pass time. As harsh as it may sound. It should have never happened and I should never have done that to you. You were young and I misled you."

At that moment it looked like something in Tomura broke.

"An unfortunate situation? A PASTIME!? You did not mislead me! You saved me! You showed me the truth! Now she's here and ruining all of this and clouding your judgment!"

All For One sighed. "It's over Shigaraki."

"The hell it is! This is my life, I have nothing else! This is not over! You'll see. I'll show you"

He stormed out of the room.

"Kurogiri." All For One said.

"Sir," Kurogiri said, before following after him.

He sighed. "This is going to be a problem."

"What is he going to do?" I asked.

"Nothing we're going to like." Dabi groaned.

"We have to stop him!" I said.

All For one smiled, leaning onto the table. "Does this mean we're the heroes now?"

I scowled. "No."
