The Hunt
By- Larien
Summary- A poem inspired during which Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli come across the pile of dead orcs (TTT) and are fooled into believing Merry and Pippin are amongst them. It is a reflection of their grief and despair, and unknowing of where to go next now that their chase has ended in vain.
A/N- I don't know. This is a weird, short little poem that is fine, but nothing grand. I just was inspired while listening to some of the elvish songs and thinking on how short and sweet they were (Right to the point sort of thing, you know?) and I figured I'd give it a go. Therefore, reviews are greatly encouraged!
Disclaimer- Even if I said they were mine, would you honestly believe me? I think not.
There is no turning back now
You have run too far
The sun now refuses to shine
When you most expect it to
Hope is now vanquished in one quick glance
The earth will not support your chase
For lost is your hunt
And defeat is the only remain
In a battle field of old
Your wail will cascade the night
And shake the stars with fury
The ground will give only clues
The trees will support only mystery
Find a new road
For your quest is in vain
There is no victory here to be found
Only billowing clouds of ash
And memories clinched by the wind
