Note/ Hello! this is not a huge chapter but I am posting here to say that this fanfic is not dead! I will continue it and soon there will be new chapters. For now, stay with this introduction chapter for the next one.

Guest: Here it is!

It's been seven months since he's been there, and still no trace of his mother showing up to pick him up.

He knows that in the multiverse the question of time is different in each land, and if she is already trying, it will probably take a long time to find the land he is in.

He is fine, physically at least. He lives together with the red tornado and red helps him with food and basic necessities. Clark also helps him by coming to visit him from time to time to ask if he needs something or just to talk. Clark and even Batman tried to help him enroll in a school and in fact, he will study in one soon. The Gotham school to be more exact, using the zeta tube to get to the city, although he could fly. Batman doesn't want him to go flying or go where he doesn't belong. Clark said it wasn't personal, Bruce also doesn't like Clark sticking his nose in there. Not that he is forbidden to save anyone if he has to, but the villain issue is completely different and even Clark agrees with Bruce on this.

Jeremy understands, after all, the Joker is only human but the damage he can do, without using violence, is colossal. He has heard stories from Kate and Ryan about the Joker and the multiple insane villains of Gotham. So it makes sense that Bruce wouldn't want him to expose himself to them, but only if it's to save someone's life but not to fight crime constantly, just to go to and from school.

Ha, that reminds him of his mother, when he was grounded for getting into a fight with his cousin against Metallo, and he and Jordan were lectured for two hours by Clark and Kara.

Jeremy is still a hero and as such he goes around helping anyone who needs help , but more in the town next to the big mountain.

He was using his freezing breath to put out a fire in a building, it had already emptied and now all that was left was to help the firemen with the fire issue. It didn't take long for him to take care of it. He floated down to the ground to check if people are okay.

Apart from a few burns, they are fine. A child came up to him and hugged him, saying thank you, and he smiled, happy that he had ensured the safety of these people, that they were all right. It reminded him of home, when he was helping people.

"I'm proud of you." Her hands held his cheeks and she placed a gentle kiss on his forehead.

He smiled a little sad before waving to the civilians and flying into the sky, towards Gotham and a specific neighborhood, where he landed above a building where there was a balcony

"Hey, I brought doughnuts." And here comes her partnership in crime. Jeremy waved to her as she walked over to sit with him next to her on the bench.

"Hey Z." He spoke, looking out over the nothingness of the city.

" Jeez, that's lively. " Zatanna snorted ,sitting down next to him and looking at him with a raised eyebrow. "Hey ,are you going to tell me what's with the pushed face?"

He let out a slight chuckle ,but there wasn't much humor in it." Sorry , I guess I'm just thinking too much. "He rubbed his neck.

Zatanna took a doughnut and offered it to him." Doughnut for your thoughts?" She smiles in a corner and Jeremy snorts ,a slight smile on his face and takes the doughnut.

"You know how to woo a guy." He jokes, giving a slight wink. "I'll take it. "He eats a little before speaking. " It's just ... I don't know, I ... I miss home, from ..."

Zatanna softened her gaze." Your mother?"

He didn't answer, but he didn't need to. Zatanna just reached out and took his empty hand in hers, giving it a comforting squeeze. "It's okay, Jer, you will see her again. "

"I hope you are right. "His expression was sad and his heart was heavy but feeling Zatanna's gaze on him, Jeremy feigned a smile and looked at Zatanna with a happier expression." but hey, don't think you'll get rid of me so easily. " he jokes ,giving a slight nudge with his shoulder ,as careful as possible not to hurt her.

She laughs lightly and patted his shoulder." I think it's a good thing you don't, I'd miss you. " she replied, a gentle smile on her lips. Jeremy smiled back, his heart warming at these words.

"How is the training going? "he asked.

"Oh it's going well ,if you exclude my father's overprotection ,it's going great." Zatanna says ,her voice with a great tone of sarcasm while eating a piece of doughnut.

Jeremy laughed. " Geez ,your father is worse than my mother when I was training. "

"Tell me about it. "Zatanna sighed. "But hey, how's life at school?"

"I can't complain. I have plenty of free time to help people, so that's fine." A mischievous smile slid across her lips. " But I could use some friends."

"Hey, I'm your friend!"

"You don't count Z, you haven't blackmailed me enough. "

"Oh is that so?" She stood up and carried the box of doughnuts ,holding it a bit far away on the balcony ,a raised eyebrow and a cheeky smile.

Jeremy stood up." Oh no... Z, don't you dare..."

"You doubt it?"

"You know I could fly up and get it, right?"

"Not if fall through a magic portal. "

"Okay, okay, best friend." He said with his hands still in the air.

Zatanna snorted ,an amused smile on her lips and pushing the box away from the edge. Even though she knew he could catch it even if it fell from there, but it was fun to at least joke that it didn't, ridiculous maybe, but still nice. She came to sit on the bench again and Jeremy did too ,right next to her and with their shoulders touching, both smiling at each other briefly before looking forward and up at the stars in the dark sky.

He couldn't help but think of Argo City as he watched the stars, couldn't help but think of his grandparents, his mother, his home.

" It's a beautiful view." Zatanna commented, handing him a doughnut, which he took calmly, still looking at the stars above.

"Yes, no doubt about it. " He replied, his expression softer. He wouldn't complain about staying longer , it was a learning opportunity, if not more. However, he still missed it.
