...

Nothing. Absolutely nothing had been found on Hawkeye's disappearance in the last two weeks. Every alias they knew of was checked. Every airport that had cameras combed through with facial recognition. They even went through every safe house. And it all turned up nothing. As Clint Barton didn't exist except in SHIELD.

Phil was frustrated by their lack of progress. They should have been hunting Ronin not looking for one of their own. Nick didn't appear to be nearly as annoyed as Phil was. Somehow that made it worse.

The ringing of his phone caught his attention and he answered curtly, "Coulson."

"I have a lead on Clint," came Natasha's curt tone from the other line.

Phil breathed out a sigh of relief. There was a chance then it didn't have to do with Ronin. That would be ideal.

It took him half an hour to reach Natasha's apartment. She left the door open for him and it's inside was spartan. Only necessary items decorated it. He knew it was because of her background. With only a year of safety in SHIELD she still wasn't comfortable in her position.

Phil called out, "Romanoff I'm here."

She came out from the bedroom and wearing SHIELD issue gear. It looked as if she was leaving on a mission. What was with his assets and going off on their own?

Pinching the bridge of his nose he said, "Please tell me you weren't about to go off on your own. Chasing Barton is headache enough."

A faint smile twitched at her lips as she replied, "I was not going off on my own. I was going to wait for you."

That somehow did not make him feel any better. He knew she would go after Barton without a moments hesitation with or without his permission.

"You said you have a lead on Barton?" Questioned Phil.

Natasha pulled out her phone flicking through it for a moment before pulling up a video. Then she handed the phone over to him. Phil frowned at the phone as he looked at the video. It was grainy even paused as it was. However he could make out a single figure in the middle of a plane hanger.

The figure wasn't Barton or anyone he recognized. They were too short to be Ronin so that ruled out Clint pulling a second Black Widow situation. He looked up from the phone with a raised eyebrow. Natasha indicated he should play the video.

With increasing sense of foreboding he clicked on play. The video showed the man in the phone looking to someone or something off screen. There wasn't any sound but he could see the man step back as if pushed by wind. A plane's engine could be seen at the very edge. It was a cargo plane if he had to guess. No sane pilot would land so close to a person. When he was settled back on his feet the stairs of a plane had appeared.

A new figure then appeared on the screen with a bag slung over their shoulder. It wasn't clear at first but within moments he realized it was Clint and not the Clint he had worked with over the last few years. His shoulders were set as if the entire world was on them. His head was held high and if Phil had to guess his eyes were like steel. It was the Hawkeye he had shot in the leg to drag to SHIELD. It was the Hawkeye that he desperately tried to save Clint from. He thought they were beyond this.

The two men greeted each other by clasping forearms. It made Phil wish the video had audio he would love to know what had brought his agent to this man. A man who he greeted like a brother. They gripped each other's forearms and seemed to talk for a few moments. Then the video ended.

Natasha explained, "The first figure is a Japanese Information Networker codename Giran. Recently he has expanded his network to outside of Japan and remade contact with those who had moved before him. I knew that at one time Clint got his information from the man. It was early in his career before he was on SHIELD radar."

"He started in Japan?"

That didn't sound right. Clint spent most of his time in Europe and the US.

"No," she denied immediately, "But so Clint like Ronin has spent a lot of time in Japan. However this video was taken in Germany. A small unknown airport that if I hadn't put the word out to my own contacts we wouldn't know Clint is in Germany."

"Where Ronin is now as well. And where we need to go."

Silently Natasha nodded her agreement.
