Chia knew she couldn't put it off any longer, the rest of the items on the list would take her well out of this sector. It was time to make her visit now or never.
Up until recently, Chia had never thought much of her apparent homeworld, Earth. Both her and Launch had grown up in and around Planet Vegeta, only being told that they had been sent there as very young children. They grew up not knowing why they were set aside from the Saiyans they were surrounded by and fought alongside. It was only when a self-righteous commander came upon them whilst they were training and publicly outed them as not being Saiyan. He had all but declared that they should be slaughtered for the weaklings they were.
The thought back to that moment sent a shudder through Chia. She remembered feeling lost and detached from everything she had ever known, her entire sense of belonging had been challenged. It hurt even more to know that she had come from such a weak race, especially having lived with the Saiyan ideology for what she thought was her whole life. Both Chia and Launch had believed that they were shunned all that time before the outburst, because they lacked tails and as a result that made them weaker than their female counterparts.
The torrent of abuse that both of the girls suffered after that was almost crippling. From then on they became the punching bags, the jokes and the ones chosen to scout in dangerous areas first; to be sent to die. They were constantly treated like it didn't matter and they both almost died multiple times proving that they did in fact matter, that they were capable and that they could be strong warriors too.
Shaking her head free of the past feelings of helplessness and rejection, Chia chose to imagine what Earth was actually like. She knew of the vast oceans and variable climates from the computer's data banks years ago, but she also knew that they weren't very technologically advanced. So how did she get sent so far away? Were there others like her and Launch? Soon her thoughts began to centre on whether she had a family and did they send her, did they care or miss her? Would she recognise anything or anyone? These kinds of emotions had been driven deep down for so long, she could not afford to let them loose now. Not on a mission, not like this.
Chia would have answers to her questions soon enough.
As painful as the blast from Vegeta was at the time, it had healed surprisingly well and she was able to resume her training far sooner than she had expected. Knowing the kind of warrior Raditz was - she had dealt with many like him over the years - she would not get away with the same move again. So the raven-haired woman spent extra time training and focussing on adapting her own moves. She was likely going to have to face him again in the near future and when that happens, she had to ensure that she would be prepared for it.
Shooting straight past the moon, Chia saw the planet in its entirety with her own eyes for the first time. It truly was blue, an oasis in the darkness, she had to admit that it was actually quite stunning.
Soaring through the atmosphere and past the extraordinarily far reaching azure oceans and over the beautiful landscapes of rolling hills giving way to mountains ahead. She briefly considered that if any of the Planetary Trade Organisation had actually visited, they would have deemed this world quite valuable rather than as the backwater planet it was categorised as.
Landing with more force than she had intended, she winced knowing that any damage would prolong her stop here. That would be unacceptable.
She stood, collecting her items and retying her hair, having already prepared and l meticulously checked her weaponry and armour when she entered the solar system. Already in a bad mood with her less than perfect landing, Chia proceeded to open the walkway, flying down it and out of her ship.
What she was met with, she did not expect. Some spectacled being - presumably human - stood in front of her with a ghastly yellow checked shirt and some overalls, wielding some kind of rudimentary weapon. His incessant mumbling was already adding to her mood.
"Y-you're on my p-property." The Earthling managed to say.
"Is that so? Hmm… I can sense that your power level is puny, you know." She openly mocked the Earthling, with her hands stuck firmly on her hips and with no attempt to defend herself from him whatsoever.
"Don't you come any closer…look…I'll use this thing!" She rolled her eyes, ready to take off and get away from this ridiculousness.
Out of nowhere, the puny human shot the weapon straight at Chia's face. Thankfully her Saiyan-like speed enabled her to catch the bullet in her hand without blinking. Well that was rude.
Repositioning the bullet in her hand, she lightly flicked it back at the weak human striking him and his vehicle in the process.
Letting out a low growl, she muttered to herself, "What a fragile breed of people. I can't believe that I come from this."
Lowering herself back down to the ground, she stood contemplating the 'humans', until she felt the flare of an energy out past the mountains in the distance. In the vast nothingness of anything remotely challenging, this piqued her curiosity and a smirk crossed her face. So the armour-clad woman turned to visually inspect her ship; once satisfied with its condition, she proceeded to encapsulate it. Before then lifting herself off the ground and shooting over the mountains in the direction of this newfound energy.
Having passed over mountains and now rocky terrain, Chia was finally able to locate the source of the energy - admittedly she was scouting it for fun, but she also didn't need an unexpected run in with powerful beings. Knowing that other competitors would be making their way to Earth for the next items on their list too - the seeds of a Pumpkin.
Arriving in the vicinity of the energy, her eyes lowered to look directly below. Instantly spotting a being with a flowing white cape, she believed that she had identified the source and came in to land in front of it.
"Excuse me for dropping in, your energy piqued my interest." This was met with a shocked silence from the green-skinned being. "Tell me, what's a Namekian doing on Earth?"
"A Namekian?"
"Yes, you." She retorted, already tired of this game.
In a deep, gruff voice he answered, "No I am not, you thought wrong. Now turn around and get out of here before I get angry."
"Someone's having a bad day." She said with a mocking smile.
"Believe me, you have no idea. Now get lost!" Shouted the angry Namekian.
Is everyone so fucking insolent on this planet?! "Seriously?! I wouldn't get any stupids ideas if I were you. You'd be an absolute fool to try and attack me, especially with such insufficient powers." By this point, she'd had enough and was willing to forego a fun battle, just to deal with this insignificant being.
This enraged the green man further and almost instantly he threw a large blast in retaliation for her mocking tones. Seeing them coming, Chia speedily adjusted her position and deflected with ease, as they were sent careening into the nearby mountainside.
Seeing him trembling with what she could only assume was fear. "Now that was rude. I guess it's my turn then." As the armour-clad woman began gathering energy in her palm, ready to reciprocate the attack on a more final level. But before she could follow through, she sensed a further raised power level. Confident that this Namekian isn't anything to worry about, she focussed on the other energy that could be. Without saying a word, she took to the skies once more and left. Leaving the Namekian questioning who she was and what had just happened.
Soaring through the fluffy white clouds that littered the sky, Chia took in another deep breath of the most crisp and refreshing air she had ever experienced. This world's gravity was so light by comparison to what the warrior had been used to on Planet Vegeta, including all the various other places she had found herself throughout her life. Here, the raven-haired woman could glide seamlessly, it felt almost natural. This planet did have a lot to offer, even if its people - barring her - were weak and rude.
Looking back down to the ground, she could see vast brown fields punctuated with orange coloured dots. Lowering her altitude to get a better look. Aha! Just what I need! With a smile planted across her face, she could get what she needed and be off of this planet before she had to interact with any more earthlings.
Gliding a stop, as she hovered over the seemingly endless pumpkin patch. Chia started to search for the largest she could find, believing it would hold the most seeds. Lowering herself to the ground and continuing her search on foot, she couldn't quite believe the selection on offer. There were varying sizes, textures and shades; she didn't know such things existed and began to wonder what they might taste like too.
Snapping out of her thoughts, a craft of some kind in the distance flew across her vision. Unfazed by it, until she sensed the extremely low power level of someone familiar. Taking a moment to identify it, she realised that it was the blue-haired woman that she had literally bumped into back at the terraforming station. "I wonder what she's doing?" She thought out loud. "What was her name again? Bra…no…Bloomers…no that's not right… B…B…Bulma!" Congratulating herself inwardly. Quickly punching into the pumpkin that she was holding and pulling out the gloopy fibrous mess of seeds, she placed them in a DynaCap and wiped the residue on the leg of her black bottoms. Yuck.
Shortly after, Chia made her way to catch up with the aircraft that Bulma was driving, ensuring that she hung back so that she wasn't spotted. The female warrior was actually quite curious as to what this blue-haired woman was up to out here and how an earthling like her lived her life. The Saiyan-like woman couldn't help but notice that whilst the woman was physically weak, she recalled that bluenette certainly had a fire within her, especially with the way that she spoke back to Prince Vegeta.
As the craft began slowly and gradually lowering to the ground, Chia had discreetly followed behind and hid herself once she saw the bluenette land. The armour-clad woman closely watched on, as Bulma exited her vehicle and began clicking some kind of device while narrowing her eyes at it with interest. The blue-haired woman raised her eyes, looking around before walking over to a dense undergrowth.
Puzzled by her actions, Chia followed close by, questioning whether these were some kind of special Pumpkins. If so, she would definitely be taking some too.
What Chia didn't expect was for Bulma to pull out an orange orb from the low lying shrubbery. What is that?!
Almost instantly her question was answered as she overheard Bulma on some kind of communications device claiming that she had found 'the two star dragon ball'.
Dragon Ball? Dragon? I wonder if that's an Eternal Dragon? If it is, that's how I'll get another item on my list - the scale of an Eternal Dragon.
"Look, this is only the second one, it's going to take me more than a week you know. Don't you start that with me!" The blue-haired woman's shout was almost deafening. Chia winced for both her own ears and for those of the being at the end of the call.
Deciding that Bulma's search was obviously going to take a while, Chia fully intended to track her down later on in the week and swipe the dragon scale then. In the meantime, she figured that she could better utilise her time searching for the other power level that she had felt earlier.
Having left Bulma's location, Chia now found herself passing over the vast blue ocean, wondering who or what she would face at the source. No one that she had met so far on this planet had been a challenge for her and she was getting a little impatient about what this world had to offer.
Spotting a small island with a red-roofed building nestled in the middle, it seemed that the energy could be coming from this location. Descending onto the sandy shores, with her nose instantly full of the salty air, Chia decided to investigate. Looking around, observing some kind of seating and a couple of odd looking type of trees that were swaying in the light winds. She walked over to the light pink-clad house and began trying to peek in the salt-damaged windows, but she could only see a colourful box-shaped device with moving pictures of females dancing around on it.
"Can I help you?" Said the voice that came from behind her, startling the raven-haired woman.
Turning around on the spot, there stood a slightly hunched old bald man with a white beard and darkened spectacles, wearing a garishly coloured shirt.
"Do you live here?" Confused and unable to sense the energy she had previously, she hoped that this old man would have some answers at least.
"Yes, as a matter of fact I do."
"Alone?"
"Why? Are ya offerin' to join me?"
"Urgh no I am not." Utterly disgusted at the thought.
But before she could say anything further the lecherous old man had placed his hands firmly on her backside. She hadn't felt any energy from him at all when he moved, catching her completely off guard.
Turning and smacking him clear off the ground, she knocked the perverse old man far out to sea like a skimming stone. What the fuck was that?
Behind her, a voice that she had heard earlier that day came. What is going on with my senses, why can't I sense these creeps? Chia turned back around towards the pink-clad house but she couldn't see anyone. Raising her eyes, the raven-haired woman caught sight of the Namekian from the rocky terrain earlier standing on top of the island house.
"It looks like you can't conceal your Ki." Came the same deep voice that she had heard previously.
"My what?" Looking all around her, checking that she wasn't exposed.
"I followed your energy here, you weren't hard to find."
"My Ki is that what you call energy?"
"Yeah, now no more talking. I'm going to enjoy beating you." The Namekian asserted with a sinister fanged smile on his face.
"Thanks for that! You really wanna fight, huh?" Chia shrugged her shoulders.
He was confused by her thanks but quickly cast it aside at the prospect of defeating the woman who had mocked him earlier.
The green man jumped down onto the sandy beach and instantly threw his fist, lunging for her repeatedly. Up, over, left, over, right, up, over, down, right with Chia deftly dodging each one.
"C'mon are you even trying?" She said, pulling a face, "I thought you were really angry."
"Y'arghhhh don't mock me!" As he sent a barrage of blasts to strike from multiple angles. But as the smoke cleared she was gone, a small fanged smile made its way onto his sweat-covered face and he breathed out a sigh of relief. Until his eyes shot wide with stark realisation at the laughing from above him. His eyeline crawled slowly upwards towards the derisive sound, fearfully confirming that she had dodged every single one of them and was still completely unscathed hovering in the sky.
Quicker than he could react, Chia appeared right in front of him, "My turn now", as she punched him square in the gut, sending him careening through the corner of the beach house and onto the golden sand on the other side of it.
Dusting her hands off, it was barely a workout but she'd take it. She had been itching for a battle of any kind.
"Not bad." Again, a voice came from behind her, startling her with their new presence.
Whirling round quickly, "STOP DOING THAT!"
The old man slowly gulped at the reaction, considering that maybe it was best not to rattle this woman. He stood on the beach, next to the turtle that had rescued him, "You've got some good moves there." He was very keen to praise the warrior and see what more she could do.
With her hands placed firmly on her hips, "I was taught by the best." She was proud of her Saiyan upbringing, no matter how hard it was.
"Is that so? I thought the best was Master Roshi…"
"Who's that?" She enquired, hoping for the prospect of a challenge.
"You're lookin' at him!" Stretching his arms out wide, presenting himself while chuckling.
"Pffft…What do you know, old man?" Chia stood crossing her arms, completely sceptical of the bearded man in front of her.
"More than you think young lady. Are you ready to learn to fight properly?"
"Properly?! I can take care of myself!" Chia huffed and positioned herself in a fighting stance. "Want me to prove it again?"
"You only caught me off guard whilst I was erm…distracted. And that stance of yours is sloppy, your side is exposed."
Chia was ready to throw down and obliterate the white-bearded man, but his comments struck her as she observed the side he was referring to. He was actually right. She'd never needed to defend it before, as she almost always got an attack in first. Maybe there might just be more to him.
Standing up straight again, "Okay then, what else have you got Mr Knowledge?"
"There's much more that you could learn, but if it's too much for you. Then I can understand that and I'll let you get on outta here."
Considering the old man's proposition, she would definitely be interested in finding out how to conceal her Ki, as they called it. However, she was almost offended at the idea that this old Earthling could teach her anything new.
"What's in it for you, huh? Understand that you will never lay a hand on me again." She delivered the final sentence with such unnerving certainty.
Slow gulping at her threatening persona, he knew he would have to be on his best behaviour around this one. He cleared his throat and attempted to speak with authority, "You'll have to do as I say, whether you like it or not. And absolutely no killing." Although he hadn't seen it for himself, he had crossed paths with these kinds of warriors over the years, with the same look in their eyes. No matter where they were from - although usually Earth for him - there's no obstacle they wouldn't remove to get what they want. "Oh and call me Master Roshi."
"Fine, I'll give you a week." Thinking about what she overheard Bulma say about how long it would take her to find the Dragon Balls. "But I want you to teach me how to conceal my energy."
"We've got some other things to do first. But starting right now, you're going to repair that mess!" As he pointed to the barely standing corner of the island house.
Gritting her teeth at the thought of such a menial task; she wasn't used to dealing with lesser beings, but this seemed like a good place to lay low and get some training in while she let Bulma do the work for her.
At the same time as their conversation, amongst the wreckage on the sandy beach, the Namekian began to stir.
"Ah actually, you'll need to apologise to Piccolo first." Master Roshi remembered as he saw the green body beginning to shift.
"Piccolo?"
The white-bearded man gestured to the green being now standing and looking rather furiously in their direction. Dusting off his clothing and starting to stomp his way towards them.
"RIGHT! YOU BASTARD. I'LL TEAR YOU APART!" Piccolo shouted scathingly with bared fangs.
"Look I don't know you Piccolo, but I do know that you started this fight. I would offer to end it right now, but I've just made a deal here with Master Roshi. So back the fuck off and I'll let you live."
"I'll take you down now!" Piccolo roared.
"Look, give yourself two weeks, get stronger, train harder and then come and fight me." Chia sounded - to all others - relatively diplomatic. However, she stated this knowing full well she was not going to be on Earth then. The Saiyan-like woman stopped herself from letting a smile take over her knowing face, whilst thinking that it wouldn't matter regardless of how much he trained.
Piccolo stopped in his tracks at this proposal, just metres from her, obviously mulling over her suggestion. He grumbled in response, "That is…acceptable." With that, he abruptly launched himself and his billowing cape into the air, disappearing into the distance far over the ocean.
"You'd be wise not to antagonise him, even my best students have had trouble with him. He's the son of King Piccolo, a malevolent being who wanted the Earth for himself."
Well there's nothing new about a power crazed tyrant. The universe is full of them. Chia thought to herself.
"You have other students?"
"Yes I've had many students over the years. In more recent times, both Krillin and Yamcha completed their training with me, Master Korin and then Kami himself."
"Yamcha and Krillin, huh?" She knew those names, Bulma had mentioned that they were waiting for her on her ship. Earth's warriors.
"Yeah, now fix this up", he gestured to the house, "Then get some good sleep, tomorrow your training will start early."
"Are you serious?! We're delivering this liquid milk? Aren't there better things we could be doing?"
"Young lady, you can learn more from this than you realise." Handing Chia the crate of fresh dairy products and turning back to thank the store owner for his time again.
"Yeah right", she said, rolling her eyes.
"You'll be starting every day like this. Bright and early you'll do your rounds, then we'll go over your katas. You need fine tuning."
"And the whole Ki thing?"
"We'll get to that, but first things first, deliver that milk before it gets warm." Reluctantly turning to follow the Turtle Hermit, Chia began her new regime.
After three days of milk deliveries, afternoon katas and learning meditation, Chia was already starting to see the benefits of the old man's routine - although she would never tell him that. Being physically fit and strong in the first place had been a huge help to the Saiyan-like woman, but even then this action pushed her body in ways that she had never expected.
The meal times had become almost entertaining to the Turtle Hermit. As for such a slim but athletic woman, Master Roshi was completely dumbfounded by the sheer amount of food Chia could consume, especially in such a short space of time.
"I guess we'll have to get more supplies sooner than I thought eh?" Eyeing her chomping down on her fourth consecutive bowl of rice and vegetables.
Her evenings tended to be spent sitting on the roof of the building she had come to know as Kame House. Gazing at the stars above, knowing what was beyond them allowed her to reminisce about her former life. Wherever she found herself, Chia always took the time to appreciate the sight of the night sky; having viewed so many constellations from different angles, it could be disorienting at times but mostly it reminded her that she still belonged to something. Occasionally, her mind would wander to Kakarot and where he might be now. Thankfully, with how much training she was getting in, she was usually able to push him from her thoughts; but in these quieter moments she replayed his actions in her head, questioning the meaning behind them.
The following morning after the milk deliveries, Master Roshi informed Chia that they would be visiting the market to purchase more food and supplies.
"I don't have to go, I'll continue with my training here." As she resumed her stances.
"As you wish, but just so you know there'll be no more food for you then." The old man already knew exactly how to get her attention.
The tension in the glare that she gave him was palpable. "Fine, but I'll carry you. You are not getting on my back again." The female warrior growled in response.
"Hey, there was a bug on you I swear!"
Ignoring his excuse, she stood up straight and adjusted her armour. Beckoning the old man over, Chia grabbed him under the arms as soon as he got close to her. They shot straight up and began making their way over the ocean towards the nearest mainland.
Seeing land ahead, Master Roshi announced, "It's not much further ahead, but I really need something better to hold onto…"
"Don't get any ideas old man or I'll drop you right here, right now." Apparently he was actually fine with the arrangement after that response, only opening his mouth again to relay that they had arrived at the marketplace that was now coming into view.
Landing on the gravelled ground behind some of the houses off the main trade route, ensuring that they were out of sight, as Master Roshi was concerned about how they might react to Chia's flying. Although she couldn't understand this obsession with placating such weaklings.
Making their way down the high street, visiting stall after stall of copious amounts of bright, succulent and beautiful smelling foods. Chia was largely being led by her stomach, a new scent or taste urged her further on, she wanted it all! With no useful currency to pay for it herself, Master Roshi bore the brunt of the cost, but it was worth it. In his mind, keeping Chia happy, well fed and most importantly on their side was the most crucial thing he could do at the moment. She was by far the strongest warrior Earth had seen in a long time, but if others like her or stronger were out there, then the planet would need all the alliances it could get. It was also a pleasant reward to see her smile.
Chia had moved on by herself continually looking at the fine selection of sweet smelling cuisines, whilst carrying a ridiculous amount of food and supplies on her back. As she was browsing, a child came and grabbed at her wrist, pleading with her.
"Get off me, what do you think you're doing? Get away!" Shaking the child's grip, but refraining from using any force after the old man's warning to her.
"Please lady, I need your help, it's my mom she needs help!"
Her body screamed internally and she knew that she would regret doing a nice thing later, but for some reason unbeknown to her, Chia gave in and let the child guide her by the wrist. Surprisingly strong for a child but no issue for her, she was pulled down an alleyway and round behind a dilapidated building.
"Yeah kid, where's the problem?" She asked as she looked around at the empty area. When she turned to ask the kid again, "Look, kid-" it had been replaced with a vulgar oversized red beast, with a pungent odour, a snout and horns on its head.
"Gimme your shopping and your money!" It demanded.
"Uh…what? Why? Where's that kid?"
"Gimme it before I smash you!"
At the realisation that she was actually being threatened by this thing, she started chortling.
With the ugly beast becoming more infuriated by her apparent laughter, "Shut up laughing! You and your things are coming with me."
She silenced instantly. Is this beast serious?! Making a conscious effort not to smack it through the wall, Chia just picked up the items that had been knocked over in her fit of laughter. Simply saying "No." As she moved to exit the alleyway.
However, the snouted beast made the critical mistake of trying to grab her as she left. This resulted in it being slapped straight into the row of overfilled bins that lined the alley. "Ooh a feisty one, that's how I like my women, you're definitely comin' home with me!" Charging at her once more.
"Oh I don't fucking think so!" As she quickly threw a light uppercut, almost shattering its jaw in the process.
With the beast quickly realising that it had taken on the wrong person and that he was woefully outmatched, he tried to make a run for it. However, before the red beast could get away, she had grabbed hold of it firmly, when he was suddenly engulfed in a cloud of smoke. Once it cleared, Chia could see that rather than a large beast in her hands, she had a green clothed little pig.
As she was about to dish out her own brand of punishment, Master Roshi appeared in the alleyway completely stunned by the scene he found himself in.
"I was just dealing with this little runt. Do you fancy some bacon with dinner?" Chia laughed out, the look on the pig's face was priceless.
"Put Oolong down!"
"What? You know this..this..thing."
"Unfortunately, yes." The Turtle Hermit was now scowling at the pig dangling by the collar of his green shirt. "I met him at a Martial Arts Tournament years ago, he tried the same thing I'm imagining he tried with you, only it was with Bulma." Chia looked directly at Oolong. He quickly averted his gaze and began whistling to the air. "It turns out he went to shape-shifting school with a friend of my students. Yes, he's a crafty little bugger that one. But still, he's not worth killing over."
"Killing?! You can't be serious! She can't kill me, Master Roshi please! Please stop her, I'll do anything!" He was thrashing, begging and pleading in her grasp, until she dropped him flat on the floor, snout first.
"I'm not going to kill you, but I will if you ever do anything like this again. Do you understand?"
"Y-yes, yes ma'am!" With that, Oolong ran as fast as his trotters could carry him down the alleyway and into the bustling crowd of the marketplace.
"You just keep on surprising me", said the Turtle Hermit with a sincere smile. "Now, let's get back."
Deciding to walk until they were far out of the town to take flight. Chia was enjoying the scenery, the sounds and the wildlife. It was oddly tranquil, with the exception of a snort from the old man in-between the beautiful silences. They carried on walking, when a herd of deer came barrelling across their path, quickly assessing her surroundings and trying to identify what had spooked them so much. Chia saw an extremely large lizard-type creature stalking them at thundering speed.
"What the fuck is that?" She shouted over the sound of its enlarged feet stomping. But quickly registered that she had inadvertently drawn attention to herself and now the gargantuan beast was approaching her for its next meal.
Chia positioned herself ready to take it on and eyeing the tasty looking muscle. However, out of nowhere, Master Roshi leapt in front of her. "It's a bloody dinosaur. Now move out of the way!"
She couldn't help but notice his form was now very muscular and broad, completely different from the scrawny old man she had looked at a mere few minutes ago. He began saying some kind of words whilst he held his hands to one side. Wait, is he gathering energy?
"Kame-"
"Hame-"
"Haaaaa!"
The blast sent the ferocious beast hurtling into the unseen distance.
"Nice, but I was planning on slicing its head off," she stated as she watched his form revert back to normal, "We could have at least had a decent steak dinner then!" Her stomach made a loud rumbling noise, right on cue.
"See what I mean?! Anyway, what the hell was that?" Pointing her finger at him in an accusatory gesture.
"That was a Kamehameha wave and it's only for the most skilled beings. It took me fifty years to learn to master it."
"Oh really, I bet I could do that by the end of this week."
"You cocky little-"
"Now, now Master Roshi, what did you say about curbing language?" Chia said with a sickly sweet smile. "C'mon, I could easily blast through a mountain with the attacks I use anyway. Look-" She gathered her hands just as she saw him and began speaking, "Kame… hame… haaa!"
With the blast that she created, she levelled the rocky outcrops and treeline as far as she could see.
"Oh that's good, but it's much weaker than I thought it'd be." Chia commented on her newfound technique, as she stood up straight looking at her hands.
The old martial artist was completely gobsmacked that she'd actually been able to pull it off, even if it was only a small one. "Well..I..uh..I think you understand that you have much more to learn with it." Swallowing dryly, "You need to put your life energy into it, so potentially it's limitless depending on how much you have left to spare. However, you have to be able to control how much energy you put into the wave, otherwise you could obliterate the planet you're standing on or kill yourself by pushing it too far."
As the duo resumed their walk, Chia was beginning to understand his concerns, especially if what he was saying was true. "Okay, so you'll teach me it then?"
"Uh..it's not gonna stop you if I say no, is it?" The Turtle Hermit said defeatedly, knowing exactly what the answer was already. Chia shook her head, confirming his suspicions. "Have it your way. I'll teach you, but let's at least get home first."
Chia stopped her tracks for a moment, as he continued walking ahead. Did he really say…
Home?
