Chapter 5: Welcome to the Disneyverse!

The two princesses continued to guide him through the town. It was empty but peaceful in the morning. Barbary looked around curiously at the town. It was then he noticed the tall structure ahead. It was a magnificent castle with marble walls and blue towers that pointed up high.

"Woah..." He murmured. Ariel and Rapunzel smiled at him. "Do you like it, Barbary?" Ariel asked. Barbary nodded. "So, how will we get to this...Disneyverse?" He asked. "Through here." Ariel replied, pointing to the entrance of the castle.

Barbary blinked in confusion. "Through there?" He asked. Rapunzel nodded. "Yes, Walt Disney himself hit its entrances very well." She explained. "Really?" Barbary asked. "The only way to find this world...is if you are taken there." Rapunzel added.

*Creak...*

Slowly, the door opened by itself much to Barbary's surprise. He felt a little scared, going inside the huge castle. Ariel felt him tensing up and tightened her hold on his hand. "It's okay, Barbary." She soothed gently. "It's safe, I promise."

Barbary looked up at her and smiled shyly. Ariel smiled back. "Are you ready?" Rapunzel added. Klaus peeked out from Barbary's shirt pocket and squeaked encouragingly. The three-year-old boy nodded. "I'm ready." He replied.

The two princesses smiled as they led him into the castle. Inside, there was a short hallway with windows lined on the walls. At the center was a rippling mirror with what appears to be an image of a pathway surrounded by a forest and a large castle in the distance.

"I-Is it safe?" He asked nervously. Ariel and Rapunzel smiled as they leaned down to comfort. "It's fine, sweetie." The latter replied. "Really?" Barbary asked. "Of course." Rapunzel added. "How else would we get here to your world?"

Barbary blushed a bit. "Sorry..." He replied. Ariel giggled and ran her hand through his hair. "It's alright, dear." She comforted. "Tell you what, how about we all 3 of us go in at the same time?" She suggested

Barbary nodded while Klaus burrowed deeper into his shirt pocket. "Okay..." He replied. Rapunzel smiled "Okay, ready?" She asked, swinging both her arms and making Barbary giggle as his arms were swinging with hers.

Ariel smiled. "You know, we don't have to jump in, Rapunzel." She pointed out. "I thought it would be fun." Rapunzel replied innocently. Ariel giggled and looked down at Barbary. "Are you ready?" She asked.

The three year old boy nodded. "Ready? One." The two princesses swung their arms upward one time. "Two," They swung for a second time. "Three!" At once, all three of them jumped into the rippling mirror and emerged from the other side.

(A minute later...)

As they stepped out into the portal, Barbary's eyes widened at his surroundings. They were now in a lush, green forest. It was much greener than any forest he seen while the smell of wildflowers and the song of birds filled the air.

"Wow...this forest is so beautiful." He murmured with a smile. Rapunzel looked at him and smiled. "You like it here?" She asked. Barbary nodded, smiled at her. "Yes, I do, Rapunzel." He replied.

Rapunzel giggled and ruffled his hair affectionately. "He's so cute..." She thought. Klaus peeked out from Barbary's shirt pocket and looked around, sniffing the air. "Where are we?" Barbary asked, looking around.

Ariel smiled and gestured to an opening in the trees. When Barbary looked over, he gasped. He saw a village in the distance with a magnificent white castle with blue pointed towers, just like the one he saw, except it seemed to sparkle in the sun.

"What...is...that?" Barbary asked in wonder. The two princesses smiled. "Barbary, welcome to the Disneyverse!" They spoke in unison. Klaus squeaked in excitement. "It's...amazing..." Barbary murmured.

Ariel kneeled to his height. "We're glad you like it." She replied with a smile. "Our friends would want to meet you." "Your friends?" Barbary asked. "Yep, they'll be more than happy to see you." Rapunzel added. "Especially Melody."

"Melody?" Barbary asked in surprise. "Who's she?" "She's my daughter." Ariel pointed out. "She'll like to have a friend like you." "I didn't you had a daughter." Barbary explained. "What's she like?"

Ariel smiled. "Well, she's adventurous, brave and sweet." She replied. "You will love her, I know it." Barbary smiled back before looking at Rapunzel. "Excuse me, Miss Rapunzel?" The latter giggled a bit. "Sweetie, there's no need for a 'miss'." She assured gently. "We're friends now, so you can scratch out the 'miss'."

Barbary nodded. "Well, Rapunzel do you have any kids?" Rapunzel's face faltered a bit. "No, I don't...and I can't..." She replied. Barbary sensed an aura of sadness and grew worried. "I'm sorry." He replied. "I-I didn't mean..."

Rapunzel gave him another smile and cupped his cheek. "Hey, hey...it's okay, baby. It's okay." She soothed, rubbing her thumb on Barbary's cheek, settling him down. "To be honest, I would really want to have a child of my own," she added. "But I can't...because of my hair here."

She gestured to her long blonde hair. "I think your hair is pretty." Barbary pointed out. Rapunzel smiled gently. "I know, but because of my beautiful hair, I'll can't have any children." She added with a saddened tone.

Barbary felt sorry for her. Before he knew what he was doing, he wrapped his arms around Rapunzel and hugged her. The latter grew taken aback but her heart and cheeks warmed up at such an affectionate gesture. Soon, she enveloped the little boy in her arms and held him close to her.

"Thank you, Barbary..." She whispered tenderly into his ear. Barbary smiled as he snuggled into her warmth.
