Date: Getting close to Thanksgiving.
Strangely enough, I can still tell what day of the month it is.
Today was a bit chaotic. I was chasing down a lead on who may have betrayed me, and I ended up having to get involved in a intense gun fight ending with a high speed chase.
Sounds like an ordinary day back home, does it? Yes, except I'm usually never involved in them.
'So, your ordinary days back home are basically survival of the fittest?' Keane asked when I told him how my day went.
I snickered. 'Basically. Except I'm usually in the office watching it all unfold.'
'How does it feel? Being right in the action instead of watching it unfold?'
'If you asked me that a couple years ago, I'd probably feel a bit differently. But now, after spending a lot of the last few years away from home, I'd say that it's pretty exhausting!'
I spent most of my life being in the midst of action. I guess up until now, I didn't appreciate all that much how peaceful it can be having a desk job. And right now, I'd take being behind that amazing desk back home then being in an underground bunker looking for a traitor.
Just have to survive long enough to make it back home.
