Following Dumbledore's orders, Filch went and closed up the door to the grounds. As soon as the door was closed, he went to look for Black.
Soon after, he went to The Great Hall to tell Dumbledore what he found out so far. All the students from all four houses were in sleeping bags and soon The Great Hall was put on lockdown.
"We've searched The Astromogy Tower and the Owly." Filch said to Dumbledore. "I've sent the ghosts to check rest of the castle. There was no sign of Black."
Harry and Tom and Jerry were still awake a bit to listen to what was going on.
"Not a singal professor in this castle would help Sirius Back enter. But I am willing to send the students back to their houses."
From the doors of The Great Hall, Severus looked at Harry with consern. Just as Remus walked in.
"Does Harry know?" He asked.
"I told him and his friends on the train." Remus answered. "But Harry said then that Sirius should have left before the Aurors arrived instead of standing there laughing. And no one knows what made Sirius turn against us."
"The way you put it, this story about what happened all those years ago is getting very fishy. And hopfully we'll find out why."
Harry and Tom and Jerry smiled knowing that Severus is still with them.
The next day, the students were being sent back to their houses. The Fat Lady was still gone but her painting was fixed and she was replaced by a knight as the students were outside days later.
"What villons are these that traspasses on the lands of I, Sir Cadogan?!"
"Well he is a bit bonkers but he knows all about this floor." Said Tom.
"You dear challange Sir Cadogan?! HIYA!"
"I'll say he's completely bonker mad." Said Jerry.
"You can say that again." Said Ginny. "He keeps changing the password."
"And a lot of us had to make a list to keep track on them." Said Fay Dumbar.
"Fearwll comrades. If you ever have need of a noble heart and steal sniew, call upon Sir Cadogan."
"Like we need help anyway." Said Harry.
Finally as soon as October had come, the first Hogsmeade weekend had come. All the third year students had all exited the castle to give in their premiton forms to McGonagall.
"Now remember." She said. "These visits to Hogsmeade are a privilege. Should your behaveior be poorly around the school in any way, that privilege shall not be extended again. No visits are aloud if you did not have your form signed. That's the rule."
As soon as Harry and Ginny and Tom and Jerry and Neville and Luna had arrived, McGonagall turned to them.
"Mr. Potter. The headmaster informed me that you are to have the Aurors look over you while at Hogsmeade. Am I correct?"
"Yes Professor." Said Harry. "The minister of magic said the same thing to me."
"Good. They have the carriage asigned for you and that's where you'll go."
It didn't take too long to reach the carages though. And the one with the Aurors is the one for thr six to take. They can see the Aurors standing there waiting for them.
One of them had pink hair. Another was a Btitish African. And that last one, who Harry and Tom and Jerry idmedietly reconized, had a walking stick and a mad eye.
"Hey. Is that Mad-eye Moody?" Jerry asked.
"Alastor Moody." They heard him say. "Ministry Malcontent. Top Auror. And by order of Madam Bones, to keep watch on Sirius Black in case he shows up."
"And you're a lot more famous out of all the other Aurors." Said Harry. "Sense the war, you filled up hath the cells in Azkaban."
"Ha ha. Just like your father Harry. Nothing was a secret to him while he was training to be an Auror before he and your mother went into hiding."
"And you sir?" Tom asked the British African.
"Kingsley Shacklebolt. A plesher to meet you." He said shaking Tom's hand.
"Watcher Harry? I'm Tonks and I just became an Auror after your first year at the school."
"Not now Nymphadora!" Moddy shouted at her.
"Don't call me Nymphadora!" She hissed as her pink hair turned orange from her anger.
"Really? Who names their child that?" Jerry asked.
"My mum."
"Right." Jerry said rolling his eyes.
And there it was. Hogsmeade village. It was never this full during the summer but in the weekends on the school year.
"Ah Harry. I knew I'd run into you and your friends here." Came the voice of Cornileus Fudge from the Three Broomsticks pub. "And Alaster. I didn't expect to see you asigned to look after him."
"Godd to see you Minister." Said Moody.
"Come right in. I have a table reserved for us."
Inside the pub was what almost reminded Harry and Tom and Jerry of The Leaky Cauldron back in London. Soon, they had reached the table as a witch came and gave them each a glass of butterbeer.
"Thank you." Said Fudge.
"You know, that roof has been clapsing every night." She said as she pointed to a small hole on the cealing.
"Have you tried fixing it?" Fudge asked.
"It would stay fixed if you'd stop sending Dementors into this pub."
"We have a killer on the lose."
"Then maybe you should have Madam Bones send the Aurors to guard this place. Maybe then Sirius Black would have been captured by then."
"Harry!" Shouted the voices of Fred and George from the other side of the Three Broomsticks.
Turning to their bodyguards, they were too caught up on Fudge's chat with the waitrus to know anything at the moment. Harry and Ginny and Tom and Jerry and Neville and Luna made their way to the twins to speek with them.
"This had better be good you two." Said Ginny.
"We have an early Christmas present for you Harry." Said Fred. "But keep it quiet."
George reached into his Pocket and pulled out an old peace of worn out parchment with nothing writen on it.
"What's that rubbish supposed to be?" Tom asked.
"This is the secret to our secses." Said George.
"It's a rench giving it to you." Said Fred. "But we've decided that your needs for it is greater than ours."
"Anyway we know it by heart." Said George. "We don't really need it anymore. So we beleave it to you."
And then, George pulled out his wand and tapped on the parchemnt saying,
"I summonly swear that I am up to no good."
And then, words had shown up on it.
"Messers Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs, pervare to aged magical mistif makers, are proud to present, The Marauder's Map." Jerry read it out loud.
"Hang on." Said Harry. "This is my fathers map."
"Hang on. Did you hear that Fred?"
"Sure did George. This belonged to your father?"
"Prongs was my father."
"Thent hat means," George started.
"Harry Potter is the decendent of a Marauder." Both of them finished.
"Where did you get this?" Neville asked.
"Back in our first year when we were inisent." Said Fred. "more inisent than we are now. We got into a spot of bottle with Filch. Ended up setting off a dugbomb in the corridor. Upsetting him for some raison. So he halled us off to his office. Started thretening us with the usily locking us in the dungons, disaboument, and we couldn't help but notise a droar on his filing capinet marked, Confriscated Highly Dangerous."
"So I caused another divershion dropping another dugbomb, Fred opened the drawr, and grabbed it. But we don't recon Filch found out how to work it. He probily suspected it was a map though or he wouldn't have confriscated it. Apparently he loves to find students lost so he can threten them with detention."
"And how did you find out how to work it?" Luna asked.
"Oh yes." Fred said smerking. "We learned from the map more than all the teachers in the school know."
Harry couldn't believe it. Fred and George had found his fathers map. And just as Remus said, it described every detail of the castle and the little dots showing who was cerently in the school with boxes showing the names of those people. One of them showed Dumbledore pasing his study. Filch's cat, Mrs. Norrus, was prowling the second floor. And Peeves was cerently bouncing around the Trophy Room.
What got to Tom and Jerry was that there were passages leading,
"Right into this very village." Said Fred. "Now Filch knows about these four. But we're sure we're the only one's who know about these. Don't bother with the one behind the mirror on the forth floor. We used it until last winter because it got completely blocked by a cave in. And we recon nobody's ever used this one becuase the Whomping Willow's planted over the entrance. But the statue of the humpbacked witch on the third floor has a passage that leads into the celler of Honeyducks."
"We've used that one loads of times." Said George. "We owe the Marauders so much."
"You'll be telling Professor Lupin that because he's Moony." Said Tom. "And why did I just tell you that?"
"Professor Lupin is Moony?" George asked.
"Yeah but can we ask you to keep it quiet?" Jerry asked. "If anyone knows about this, we could all be in trouble."
"You have a point Jerr Bear." Said Fred.
"I'm a mouse. Not a bear."
"But it true." Said George. "We wouldn't want anyone to know about this map."
"I think we've taken up enough time." Said Fred. "And when you're done with the map, tap it again and say Mishtif Mannaged to wipe it clean. Otherwise anyone will read it."
"Right." Harry said as he took the map. "Thanks."
By then, the six went back to the three Aurors assigned to look after them.
After a while, some shopping at Honeyducks went on and then some looking around at the other shops and by then, Harry and Tom and Jerry had caught a glimps of an old building that they assumed was the Shreaking Shack. Probably a good place for Sirius Black to hide.
Soon, it was time to return to the castle. Once back at the school, the six said goodbye and departed from Kingsler and Tonks and Moody as they went back into the common room.
"Can you believe it?" Harry asked. "Fred and George found my fathers map."
"You think Sirius Black could still be in Hogwarts?" Tom asked.
"He might be." Said Jerry. "Let's hope nothing goes wrong."
Authors note:
Man I had a lot of trouble planning out the Hogsmeade visit. And I got too caught up on my other stories to work it out. I hope this was worth the wait.
So there you go, Harry got to meet Kingsley and Tonks and Moody a lot early than in canon. And Fred and George gave him the map while nobody was looking which is a surprise even to me.
