Uninvited

SPOV

"Where da hell you think you're going?" The half demon is above, lazing about on a tree branch on the outer skirts of the grounds.

"Mind your business Inuyasha, do you not have somewhere to be?" I keep my pace walking toward the main gate, Jaken trailing behind me.

"Like you care. I'm just askin'. You're gonna miss the morning brief and tea, you know how the old man gets when I'm late. Nothin' happens if you skip."

"Perhaps if you took your role in the Dynasty seriously you would receive a pass every now and then." I press further walking out of earshot leaving the premises.

He jumps down to catch up.

"Your one to talk. You been MIA for the last few days. Where ya going this time? Hmm?" He scoffs.

I ignore him and continue with my mission.

"Mi Lord." Jaken tugs on my pants. "Master Inuyasha is right. Today is the full planning of your courtship. Duke Masa will be here within an hour!" He whines. "Not to mention the interview you have with the press that you and the Princess must prep for." He counties whaling.

I stand in place and they both stop behind me.

"I will return before then." I take a step back and launch myself forward jumping straight up and over the massive gate.

"HEY!" Inuyasha shouts after me.

"MI LORD!" Jaken cries.

I have had no peace lately. Before this whole courtship nonsense, I was able to center myself. Carry out my daily duties with no interruptions, or anyone concerning themselves with my private business.

"Hey!" He catches up dashing through the thick greenery matching my speed. "What's the big idea?! If you're not going me either. Won't get in trouble if I say I was with you huh."

Jaken is riding on his shoulder looking ill.

"Lord Sesshomaru, please, have mercy. Your father will kill me if you're not present." He weeps.

"Go home." I warn them.

"I said I'm coming!" Inuyasha shouts. I let out a loud growl and increase my speed leaving them far behind.

This is irritating. I do not wish to be followed. In fact, I prefer if I had moment to myself. Last night made me realize that if I do not do something about this most uncomfortable situation I will be forever bound.

Last night:

"My Prince! You are home? Welcome home!" My usual attendant greets me at the door when I arrive. Enthusiast. "Would you like me to draw you a bath or shall I prepare you something to eat?"

"Neither I am going to retire. Excuse me." I climb the stairs to the west wing. She runs up ahead and stands above me blocking my way hanging her head low.

"Please forgive me my Prince. If it pleases may I speak freely?"

"Speak."

"The Princess is um, well she's... inebriated at the current moment. Please forgive me but I have tried everything. The princess won't stop despite all my efforts to calm her. She has been hystical since this afternoon when you left"

'Hm, this is no business of mine.'

"My Prince, she has locked herself in your room."

'Of course, she has.'

I sniff the air to account for all the persons in the palace.

"Where is my father?"

"His Majesty and the Queen went to a dinner gala with house Domshi, they said they will be home rather late. They have not return yet."

"That will be all."

I hear her from here. Her screech is quite terrible to say the least. I dismiss the girl and head to my room.

I attempt to open my door, but it is locked.

I allow myself in and upon entering I immediately doge a crystal vase she throws my way. The glass shatters on the wall and the pieces falls. Pity.

"I believe that was a gift from the Queen herself."

Tsubaki stops her monstrous whines and wipes her tears. She is fully naked standing by my bed looking confused. A near empty bottle of sake in hand. Her expression changes to a wide smile when she sees me.

"Your, your Grace, your finally home, I thought I'd s-surprise you." She giggles slurring her words.

Her robe is pooled at my feet throw it at her. "Dress yourself."

"You don't …like?" She sports a smirk.

"Get dressed."

"So grumpy, and you say I'm the one acting. When you're in front of your father and Queen Izayoi you are so different."

"ENOUGH! Now tell me why you are in my chambers acting a fool?"

She snickers and takes a long gulp from the sake. "A fool? Yes, you are right, it is me who is the fool. But it is the result of your own doing Sesshomaru! Since the moment I stepped in the Palace to be gifted to you, you made a fool of me. It is obvious to everyone else who has eyes that you are preoccupied, and it is not with me." She ties the belt on the robe. "I have called you repeatedly with no answer and yet you still have the gull to tell me how I'm acting?!" Her eyes well up again.

"I see. You still are under the impression that there will be a union between us and that you will become the next future Queen. Let me reassure you, that will not happen. I do recall telling you this the night of the gala, I am sure you are aware, I despise repeating myself."

She wipes her tears and lets out a taunting laugh, she sits on the bed and pats the space next to her. "Are we not to share a bed Sesshomaru? I think you're missing the whole point of this."

"Get out Tsubaki."

"Oh, now I get it" She hiccups and laughs at herself. "You're in denial." She starts to laugh even harder. "The-the great Lord Sesshomaru defeated by responsibility!" She dramatically falls over from laughing so hard. "Your Grace, my dear husband to be, it is your duty to give me a child.

"Nonsense."

'I will never bare a child, let alone with this witch.'

"This union is happening, and you will do well to remember it is your father who is endorsed it."

"Kaede." I call, my eyes never leaving Tsubaki. The frail woman appears kneeling in front of me.

"My Lady, would you please escort The Princess back to her quarters? She is most tired and is not feeling well. Perhaps have someone draw her a bath and give her some nighttime medication.

"Of course, Sire, come along Princess." She grabs Tsubaki's hand and leads her out.

"But, I'm not tired. And I'm not done visiting my dear Lord."

"Aw hush now Princess." Kaede feels her forehead with the back of her hand. "You do seem to be running a fever. Let's go get you some rest. You have a big day tomorrow." She leaves walking Tsubaki out.

I let out a sigh of relief and close my door. I call for change of bedding after they leave. I remove my clothes and drop down on my bed allowing the long winded day to escape my lungs.

'Rin.'

I reach my destination. Slowly, I descend on the plush grassy land and assess my surroundings. The large park is full of humans enjoying various activities. Many skaters and bike riders go up and down the long trail encircled by a riverbank. I close my eyes and investigate the area for the sweet sound I wish to hear so desperately. Instead, my nose finds my target, the sweet breeze isn't far off.

"Hey! What gives? Why you'd leave me behind?! What are you hiding Sesshomaru?" Inuyasha finally reaches me and looks around. "A park? What are you even doing here?"

"Yes Mi Lord, what are we doing in this bleak town?" Jaken questions.

I ignore them and follow the fragrance.

"Hey!" Inuyasha says as he tails me.

"Oh hey look, it's that guy." I open my eyes to see Rin's young brother riding his bike toward me. "Did you come to ride your bike too Sesshomaru?"

Jaken gasp appalled. "HOW DARE YOU HUMAN INFANT! YOU SPEAK TO THE GREAT LORD LIKE THAT WITH NO REGARD FOR YOUR LIFE?!"

"Huh? Infant? I'm not no baby! And what are you? A Toad?" The boy fires back. I chuckle, he has fight in him.

"HOW DARE YOU!" Jaken raises his staff of two heads, but I hit him on the his leaving him dazed on the ground.

"Behave, Jaken." The boy laughs and I crack a smile enjoying his amusement.

"Shippo, I told you not to go too far, c'mon we're getting ready to go…" Rin's older sister runs up and comes to a halt when she notices me. "Prince Sesshomaru, what are you doing in the park? Don't tell me the Royals enjoys barbeques." She awkwardly laughs. I half smile about to answer but Inuyasha pushes me out of the way and stands between us.

"Kikyo?" He inspects Kagome up and down while she stiffens looking uncomfortable. He gets close and savagely sniffs at her. It never occurred to me before. She does have a strong resemblance to the priest. "You even got her same scent. Who are you?" He asks irritated.

"Um, I'm Kagome Higurashi, and you must be Prince Inuyasha. But I'm sorry I don't know who you're referring to."

He reaches into his pocket and pulls out an old photo. "That's her, you smell and look just like Kikyo. Who are you?" She examines the picture for a moment and then smiles. "I never met her or know who she is, but I've seen her in old family photos, but she looks so beautiful here. Are you saying you knew her Prince Inuyasha."

"Hmpf, something like that." He crosses his arms disappointed.

"Inuyasha, compose yourself, have some res-" I sniff the air distracted by the scent that is getting stronger. "Rin." She reaches us on her bike with a confused look on her face. She looks delicious, the day's sun does her beauty justice. Although I am not fond on her showing so much skin in public, she's wearing a solid light blue tank top and short jean shorts. I want to growl out loud and teach her what she should seal away only for me.

"Prince Inuyasha and Sesshomaru? What's going on?" My Rin.

"May we have a moment?" I ask her. She tilts her head and descends off her bike kicking it into place with the stand. "A-Un." I call towards the sky. Within a few seconds the beast lands beside me and nudges my arm.

"Whoa!" Shippo says looking up at the creature. "Awesome, Sesshomaru, you didn't tell me you had a dragon horse." I laugh at his innocents.

"Rin, a moment please." I motion to A-Un.

"Oh, right, um sure. Kagome, Shippo, I'll be right back then we can go home."

They both nod and instruct Jaken to keep an eye on Inuyasha until I return. I assist her on A-Un and sit behind. A-Un takes flight, and we fly out of the area.

"This is A-Un, he has been around for eons past down in my family." I introduce her. She pets his mane and smiles.

"He's extraordinary." She giggles and looks around as we glide through the warm air. "It's such a beautiful day, the perspective from up here is incredible!"

I stabilize her by holding on to her waist. When we rise high enough and out of sight, I hastily kiss her.

"Mm, Sesshomaru…" She kisses me back. "What are you really doing here? Is something wrong?"

"I have missed your presence."

She giggles. Sweet symphony. "Sesshomaru, I seen you less than eight hours ago."

"Yes. So, what is the verdict?"

"What do you mean?"

"Hm. I will give you the benefit of the doubt since you do not know me well, however I do not have much patience. I am in the habit of getting my way. Remember?" I smirk. She looks even more confused.

A-Un finds a hill overlooking the park and lands there. I step down and grab Rin putting her down as well.

"Is this about what I told you last night?" she questions raising her brow.

"Yes." I keep my eyes on her waiting for her response.

"I-I haven't had time to think about it…" She looks down at her feet. I take her chin and kiss her soft lips once more.

"Well, let me remind you how imperative it is to make time." I bend down and pick her up by her thighs to have her straddle me. She lets out a yelp and I back her to a nearby tree for support where I continue to kiss her.

"Mmm…Sesshomaru…" She lets out a moan wrapping her arms around my neck. "I definitely can't think if you're doing this."

"Really?" I break free from her sweet lips. "That's too bad, because I was thinking to keep doing this until you give me an answer." I start to nipple on her earlobe and whisper to her. "Say, yes." I trail down her neck leaving pecks.

"I can't…" My eyes widen and I slowly put her down on the ground.

"And why would that be?"

"Me, dating the most handsome, unavailable, Royal in the country? I can't see that happening…" She trails off.

"Date? Rin, you misunderstand. When I say for you to be MINE, I mean, all MINE. This is not a temporary thing; you will be by myside always devoted me."

"Even more of a reason for me not being able to commit to such a thing." A deep growl causes me to bare my fangs frustrated with how the conversation is going.

"Rin, my patience."

"Tell me why at least."

"Why?"

"Yes, tell me and I'll take it into consideration. Why would I commit to you when you're already committed to someone else. Why out of all the people who have Royal titles you choose me who doesn't?"

"Rin…" Is all I can say because in all honesty she has me perplexed. "…I just need you to say yes."

"That isn't good enough." She whispers. What is this defiance? I am the Sesshomaru, the Great dog demon's son, Prince of all the east, and yet I cannot conquer a simple human?

"I am your Prince."

"It isn't good enough." I look deeply into her stern eyes. She's not bluffing.

'She will be the death of me.'

I sigh. "Will you answer soon?"

"Honestly Sesshomaru, I don't know if I can if you can't find a reason why you want me. I'm confused and need sometime. You can't ambush me and order me to give you what you want."

'Oh?' Interesting.

"I will give you time then."

"Not uh, the ball is in your court now." She half smiles. "It's your turn to answer me. And when you find that answer, I'll think about it." She smirks. Ah, I see where her younger brother gets the fire from.

I ponder on her words for a moment.

"Perhaps, I can show you instead."

"Show me?"

"Yes. May I receive you this evening?"

"Um, I'm kind of going out tonight. To celebrate my end to classes with Kagome and Sango."

"Where? I can come get you after."

"Uh, well, you know, it's a girl's night. So where going to a club in the Citra district." She trips over her words.

I want to punch a hole through the tree with my frustration. A club? I do not wish for her to be ogled by drunken lecherous men in such a setting!

"And what will you wear to said club, hm? Something that stops here?" I slowly graze up her thigh with my hand stopping where her mini shorts end. I hear her catch her breath in her throat and heart rate accelerate.

"Sesshomaru, I need to get back. My siblings are waiting, and I'm sure people are waiting on you too. Don't you have a country to run?" She will watch her tongue when she is officially mine.

"A-Un." I motion for him to take us back. We get on and he flies us back to the open field where everyone is waiting. Before we reach, I cup her hand in mine. "Rin, I don't want to wait. You may have your night out, but I will come get you after."

"I'm not sure that's a great idea, I'll be drinking after all." She flushes. She is absolutely trying to murder me. The image in my mind of her in a shady district in a shady club wearing something even remotely like what she wore last night is maddening.

"I will come get you after."

"Um, you don't have to do that, I'm sure it will be very late. Besides I don't want you to drag yourself so far to pick me up."

"Distance nor time is no object. I will come."

She half smiles defeated. "Okay, you win, you can pick me up." I tell her to call me when she is ready, I will come. She agrees and A-Un lands back to where the group was waiting. We get off and I see a new member in the mist. His scent is distasteful.

"Oh shit, hey Rin, didn't know you were close to the Royals like that."

'Who the fuck is this?'

"Koga?" She runs up and hugs him. An unfamiliar feeling courses through my chest. A low growl starts when she leaves my side. 'What is this nuisance?'

He receives her with open arms and without thought, my hand reaches for the hilt of my sword. Inuyasha's ears perk up when he sees my action and turns his attention to the unknow man on guard as well.

"What are you doing here Koga?" She asks smiling.

"I was jogging, then I smelt you guys' scent. Please talk to your sister for me she is in no mood to hear me out." Rin's sister has an annoyed expression on her face. She approaches Inuyasha and I and bows.

"It was nice to meet you Prince Inuyasha, and to see you again Prince Sesshomaru. C'mon Shippo, we're leaving."

"But, Kagome, I wanna go on the dragon horse." He cries. Uncharacteristically, A- Un licks the boy, and he laughs.

"Shippo let's go, come on."

"Aw, but can Koga come? He hasn't been around in a while. We can play video games Koga."

"Sure little man." He leaves Rin side and walks over to the boy and rubs his head.

"No! Koga can't come he's too busy." She fires back and walks away heading out of the park. The little man hangs his head low and follows Kagome after saying goodbye to us. "Bye mister Sesshomaru!"

"See Rin, your sister won't give me the time of day. I need your help; she listens to you. Please I'll owe you one." He winks at her. Rin looks puzzled and sympathetic at the same time.

"I'll see what I can do. Kay?" She rolls her eyes smiling at him.

"Cool, I'll see you later." He kisses her cheek and jogs away. I want to lop off his head for being so close to her let alone kiss my Rin. She turns to me and smiles again with one hand behind her head.

"Sorry about that. Koga is Kagome's ex-boyfriend. Long story but I gotta catch up. See ya later." She waves and runs off to catch up with her family already heading home. He is irrelevant to me however I did not appreciate how comfortable he was to touch Rin in such a manner.

"Mi Lord, this visit is leading to more questions. What was the point of you fraternizing with these humans?" I mount A-Un.

"Let's go."

"I want answers too Sesshomaru." Inuyasha says still looking at the girls in the distance. I ignore them and allow A-Un to take me back.

"Don't leave me again Mi Lord!" Jaken cries.

"Hey! Not again!" Inuyasha runs after me.
