Chapter 2

After Miho hangs up the call, she puts her phone back on the nightstand so she can finish getting ready for school. She could help but notice a picture already on the stand.

Picking it up and examining it closely, smiling. She remembered when the photo was taken vividly. It had only been a month and a half after she had arrived after transferring from Kuromorimine, after graduating from the "Military Leadership Seminar" or "MLS" as the top student of her class, her parents decided to take her and her new friends over to one of the big amusement parks on the continent as both to officially welcome her as a part of the family after adopting her before she signed up for MLS and to congratulate her on her graduation. There she was smiling the biggest grin she had in years if not in her life up till that point, to either side of her were the new friends she made at MLS, and behind them were her "new" parents, both smiling with their new daughter and with pride for her.

She looked around, while she was technically in a dorm room, it was a grand one. It was almost as big as a double-sized apartment, filled with amenities that she didn't know existed or she couldn't really enjoy before. Across from her bed there was a stand which was where a TV stood, surrounded on both sides by some of her Boko bears. On the shelf underneath the TV, sat a DVD player and some DVD cases containing some cartoons that she'd sometimes watch for a quick laugh.

While she was grateful for everyone she met and everything she had, but there were still some things or rather some people that she missed. First of course, was her dear sister Maho, despite her cold appearance and determination to please their mother, she truly did care for Miho and would always try to do right by her. Finally, she really missed Koume Akaboshi, she was the only person back at Kuromorimine who Miho could call her friend. Even now, she still occasionally thought about them, while she missed Maho, she knew that she'd be okay and would be better off now that she wouldn't be constantly worried about Miho; but she was worried about Koume, she knew that Koume would have a hard time considering what happened at the last time they saw each other and her relationship with Miho in general.

After putting the picture down, she quickly had breakfast, freshened herself up, and put on her new school uniform of a tan camo leather sailor jacket and same color knee length skirt complete with a cap. After grabbing her backpack and making sure everything she needed was in it, she headed to the door, ready to head over to the academy building.
