Lexie and Stuart had broken up a week ago. They were trying their best to concentrate on their work but it was very difficult. Everyone in the office could tell they were both off but they didn't know why. Stuart had just gotten out of the shower. He wrapped a towel around his waist and went over to the sink to brush his teeth. He saw Lexie's toothbrush and instantly felt sad. He missed her terribly.
Flashback
Lexie was in the bathroom at Stuart's and had just finished brushing her teeth. Stuart was in the shower.
"Baby?" He called.
"What?"
"Come join me."
"Alright." She took off her clothes and got in the shower.
End Of Flashback
Lexie was in the office. She was called into Isobel's office.
"Have I done something wrong Ma'am?" Lexie asked.
"No." "I've noticed something seems wrong with you lately." "Is something wrong?"
"I'm going through a personal issue but I'll be fine."
"Would you like some time off?"
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."
Lexie went back out into the main office.
"Is everything ok?" Stuart asked.
"Fine."
Later that day Lexie and Stuart were in a surveillance van. Lexie was getting ready to go into a club for a sting operation. Stuart was putting a hidden camera inside of a tiny pendant.
"It's ready Lex." He said. Can you move your hair back for me?" She did. He was putting it up on her right shoulder. "Why did Isobel call you into her office?"
"She wanted to know if something was bothering me."
"What did you say?"
"I said I was fine." "I couldn't tell her you broke up with me and… "It doesn't matter." She said with tears in her eyes. "I was just screwing you, right?"
"Lexie I'm- The back van door opened. Before Omar got in Stuart finished putting on the pendant and Lexie quickly wiped her eyes.
After work Stuart and Omar went out for a beer.
"So what's up?" Omar asked. "Is it a woman?"
"Is it that obvious?" "It just really hurts."
"How long were you together?"
"About four months."
"Did she leave you?"
"I left her."
"Why?"
"She never wanted to tell people about us." "I don't know if she loved me." "She told me she's never been in love before."
"Did you love her?"
"I still do." "It's only been a week."
"Did you ever tell her?"
"Once we made our relationship public, I was going to."
"Why the secrecy?"
"We didn't know what it was at first." "Plus we work together."
"Oh my god." "Lexie?"
"Yeah."
"Tell her you love her." "Haven't you seen how miserable she's been?"
"It's complicated."
